If we want to do something about gas prices, we should demand and vote for greatly reduced welfare and military spending, a balanced budget, and fewer regulations that interfere with the market development of alternative fuels. We also should demand a return to a sound commodity monetary system.

Gotta love Ron Paul.

Let's start by declaring no level of government can impose taxes on any product. Let's start with gas and oil. That will immediately lower the price of a gallon by at least 75 cents.

We'll have to pay for it by nuking some programs. Let the gladiator games begin. There's a fixed amount of money up for grabs. Put all the special interests and their bought 'n' paid for legislators in a pit. And let just one emerge.

As an "unintended consequence", the price of everything transported by oil (i.e., trucks and planes), or supported by something moving using oil (i.e., workers that come to work or consumer who drive to stores) will drop like a rock. Faster than prices get cut at a WalMart. Betcha, WalMart's price come down fastest of all.

With all due respect, I don’t think that Exxon is the problem. I think the problem is in our own thinking. We accept that the politicians rule us. They divide us and get us arguing over trivia!

Let’s start with the gas tax. What moral right does that gang in Washington or have to steal money each time we buy gas? That gas tax then gets hidden into everything we buy. Loaf of bread has to be transported to the store; gas tax is in its cost. Wonder Bread doesn’t pay taxes. They just pass it along. Only real people pay taxes. You have no place to pass it along to!

Now, let’s chat about “laws” and “regulations”, the gangs in power say “can’t drill in anwar”, “can’t build a refinery here”, “can’t have nuclear”, and my all time favorite oliticians deciding what should be in gas! Those are all costs born by us consumers. Toss them all ove rthe side.

Finally, let’s be energy independent. If Brazil can do it, why not us? If France can use nuclear power for 30% of its electricity needs, why not us? If we demand something, and the ruling class stays out of the way, the marketplace will deliver it. Greed is good. It makes us work together to satisfy human needs.

Gas prices are going to remain high until we as a nation decide to boycot one gas company and one only, preferabbly exxon mobile and its subsidiaries. If we can cripple exxon we can win the gas war. They are the biggest and when they get word that there is a boycott of their gas and their profits start dropping like a rock they will back off of the prices. WHy are Americans at minimum wage having to decide between gas or food. It is that friggin bad and you can blame your president who announces another gas scare new conference every time it starts to go down. He is doing this for a public service for his buddies. We have no gas shortage. We have no reason at all for gas to be as it should and untl Americans unite with a plan we will continue to pay in excess of 3.00 a gallon. I bought a car with more mpg and still cannot afford the gas for it. Just gets higher and higher. BOYCOTT EXXON MOBILE!
