By then, 150 cops had descended onto the scene but it took 90 minutes for them to get to the shooter and stop him

Shocking new video has emerged showing Texas cops restraining parents as they tried to rescue their kids on Tuesday after a gunman unleashed terror inside the elementary school, as questions grow over why it took so long to get to the shooter after the first 911 call.

Salvador Ramos, 18, arrived at the school in Uvalde at 11.30am, crashing his car into a ditch.

A school resource officer was at the scene but he failed to stop him from making his way inside.

Two other cops also rushed to the school at that time – Ramos had just shot his grandmother in the face at their home less than five miles away. She survived and called the police.

When they arrived, Ramos is said to have shot at them then ran into the school, where he barricaded himself in the fourth grade classroom and shot 19 kids and two teachers dead.

It took another 90 minutes from that point for police to declare the shooting over.

The “fog of war” seems to have begun to clear.

I’d like to read an “after action report”.  Seriously, “waited to find a key” sounds like “the dog ate my homework”.

I still am waiting to hear if the young criminal was on SSRIs.

In any event, why was it so easy to get into the school. And, I thought that Texas was one of the States that armed teachers.

The “school resource officer” was not very helpful.

As painful as it will be to the parents, I hope someone is seriously looking at the video and taking note what could be dome NOW to prevent the next copy cat.

Teen arrested for ‘threatening’ mass shooting at NY high school a day after Uvalde massacre

A 16-year-old was charged with aggravated harassment after threatening a shooting at Bellport High School on Instagram.

A 16-year-old boy threatened a mass shooting at a Long Island high school on social media — just one day after the Uvalde, Texas school massacre, prosecutors said.

The teen was arrested for making a terroristic threat after he made a Wednesday Instagram post on his “Bellport Scholars” page that warned there could be a shooting at Bellport High School the next day, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Cops didn’t find any guns in the home of the boy, whose identity was withheld by prosecutors because of his age.

As a gun owning pro-life pro-choice little L libertarian I see nothing wrong with this quick reaction.  If anything, maybe a night in jail would provide an object lesson.

Now the question is follow up and follow thru.

  • Follow up with a complete medical and psych eval.  (I’d include a colonoscopy just so it gets the point across!)
  • Follow thru with a thorough examination of the individual’s environment — what he has access too.

I’d like to see the concept of a “extreme protective order” that puts the target under a microscope and their — should say his — environment.

That’s without taking everyone else’s guns away.

Thinking back to Hill Street Blues’ roll call I’d add “be alert if something is reported as kinky” and then “Be Safe Out There”.

Pilots and scientists sound alarm to FAA re: Covid vaccine-injured pilots
Dated: May 20, 2022 by Sharyl Attkisson

Pilots from 30 airlines including American, Delta, United, Jet Blue, Frontier, Alaskan, and Southwest are asking the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to address the health and safety concerns of several pilots who say they have been injured by the Covid-19 vaccines.

The pilots have joined 17,000 doctors and scientists who make up The Global Covid Summit in submitting a letter to the FAA and other civil aviation authorities. It outlines specific and serious concerns over the airlines’ Covid policies and their effects on pilot health and flight safety.

The Vaccine Safety Research Foundation (VSRF) is a watchdog organization that promotes scientific inquiry and encourages an open dialogue of transparency regarding medical and scientific information.

VSRF is supporting the coalition’s initiative by calling on the FAA to implement third party medical screening of all US-based commercial airline pilots, along with the public disclosure of all pilots who fail the screening.

This brings up two concerns —

  • what about the passengers flying on planes being flown by Covid vaccine-injured pilots?
  • If the Covid vaccine injured pilots, what about the rest of “We, The Sheeple”?

Sounds like another reason we can NOT trust what we are being told.

Overkill: The Deadly Illogical of Gun Rights
By Greg Guma
Global Research, May 26, 2022
Region: USA
Theme: Law and Justice

*** begin quote ***

When a disturbed teenager or adult commits mass murder it has nothing to do with liberty. Yet, since the weapon is usually a gun, many people in the US essentially respond that the freedom to be armed is more important that the right to be safe. In fact, millions claim that being armed is the only way to be safe. Like most arguments against gun control, it’s cruel and illogical.

For decades now, leaders of gun rights groups have made the same case. They claim, for example, that the only thing separating Americans from people living in dictatorships is their unrestricted access to weapons. If the government has all the guns, they say, attacks against defenseless citizens will become as common in the US as they are in oppressed countries. This is one of the reasons why gun owners oppose the banning of so-called assault rifles.

Does this sound familiar? It certainly should. The same argument is still being made today by those who say nothing can be done to stop mass shootings like the recent ones in Texas and upstate New York. They also warn that only way to prevent a police state here, which many people claim is on the verge of happening, is to allow the wide and unregulated distribution of all sorts of weapons.

This idea, which assumes that any regulation is the first step toward confiscation, represents a paranoid and individualist mentality that for decades has dominated debate about gun violence in the US. We are free, the argument goes, only as long as we can defend ourselves with guns, not only against criminals but also against the law and the State.

*** and ***

The arguments against regulation tend to fall into three categories: 1) the right to bear arms is constitutionally protected, 2) gun control won’t reduce violence in society, and 3) gun laws are a serious threat to freedom. But do these assertions hold up to scrutiny?

The roots of traditional US ideas about the relationship between weapons and society actually go back centuries to the Florentine political philosopher Niccolo Machiavelli, who noted that military service should be the responsibility of every citizen, but soldiering the professional of none. Basing his ideas on the Roman suspicion of professional soldiers, he concluded that military force should only be used to assure the common good.

This idea of citizens bearing arms in defense of the State, to avoid the potential tyranny of a standing army, was translated by the authors of the Bill of Rights into the Second Amendments and helps to explain its unusual wording:

“A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

Many libertarians have interpreted this sentence to mean that individuals are guaranteed the right to possess firearms for their personal defense or for any other use they choose. What this fails to acknowledge is the meaning of citizenship as it was understood two and a half centuries ago. In the 18th century, citizenship directly involved militia service for men, which was part of the commitment to the greater public good. An armed citizenry did not mean an armed population. In fact, even then it was clearly understood that access to weapons was a communal rather than an individual right.

*** and ***

The bottom line is this: Effective regulation, combined with a comprehensive national database and a serious training program for gun users, would establish over time that less access to guns leads to less violent crime. This has been the case in Europe and some US states. Success would also help shatter the myth that government is the problem, and that people are better off armed to the teeth and on their own.

The debate over guns is not about restricting rights. That’s the cover story, an assumption promoted by the gun lobby to shape public perceptions. It’s not even about “control.” The goal is security, freedom from the fear and anxiety sweeping across this over-armed society.

A well-regulated militia is a altruistic idea, certainly preferable to the military-industrial complex. But almost 400 million guns in private hands is — pardon the expression — overkill.

*** end quote ***

In a long eloquent screed, the author makes an argument for “effective regulation” and that the Dead Old White Guys didn’t meant everyone.

I almost spit out my coffee at “effective regulation”.  Would the author please point out ANY example of such “effective regulation” ANYWHERE in the world.  He cite cars as an example.  Has he dealt with the DMV lately?  And, even this week before the tragic shooting in Texas the ATF is accused of creating a permanent online gun registry in direct violation of Federal law.  So much for that argument.

Funny how if they meant militia, they didn’t say it.  It’s generally conceded that “well regulated” in their generation meant “hit what you aim at” not a bunch of bureaucrats making diktats.  If the Federal Gooferment would return control of the Army to the State governors, disband all the TLAs (three letter agencies), and disarm all the bureaucrats like at the Department of Agriculture, then maybe we can get back to the Dead Old White Guys’ intents. Then maybe we don’t need about ⅓ of “We, The Sheeple” armed like citizen soldiers.

I notice that the author doesn’t point out how Israel dealt with classroom shootings.

Further I notice that the author doesn’t address how mass shootings seem to take place in “gun free zones” or as I like to call then “target rich environments” AKA shooting galleries.

Stiff further I notice that the author doesn’t address violent crime in all major cities where “gun control” id the diktat.

Finally I notice that the author doesn’t address how genocides seem to happen when the citizenry is disarmed.  (And yes it does happen here — Waco, Ruby Ridge, the Native Americans, the Bonus Brigade, etc etc)

As a gun owning pro-life pro-choice little L libertarian, there are better scholars on these issues than me (i.e., John Lott; Tom Woods; Scott Horton; and litany of libertarian writers like Heinlein) who can do a better job of responding.

And with “gun control” fixated Democrats in charge of all branches of the Federal Gooferment why haven’t they advanced the agenda?  Because they know it’s a loser.  Nothing will will bring 100 million voters to the polls quicker than that infringement of the Second Amendment.

P.S., Don’t even bring up the concept of “social contract” because it’s a meaningless phrase.  See Lysander Spooner.

In summation, we live in the Fascist State controlled by an oligarchy of the rich who regard us with contempt.  Only the knowledge of an armed citizenry prevents them from loading the trains with “deplorable” and sending us to camps.

If that be paranoid, then I’l misquote a 60’s meme “Just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get me!”

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? . . .” — Alexander Solzhenitsyn

So, whomever is sent to collect the guns, should be aware that unlike Germany in the 1920’s, gun owners in the USA will not go quietly.

D.O.D Issued a Contract for ‘COVID-19 Research’ in Ukraine 3 Months Before COVID-19 Officially Existed
Matt Agorist May 20, 2022

*** begin quote ***

( THE EXPOSÉ) — The world first started to hear about a novel coronavirus in early January 2020, with reports of an alleged new pneumonia-like illness spreading across Wuhan, China. However, the world did not actually know of Covid-19 until February 2020, because it was not until the 11th of that month that the World Health Organisation officially named the novel coronavirus disease Covid-19.

So with this being the official truth, why does United States Government data show that the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) awarded a contract on the 12th November 2019 to Labyrinth Global Health INC. for ‘COVID-19 Research’, at least one month before the alleged emergence of the novel coronavirus, and three months before it was officially dubbed Covid-19?

The shocking findings, however, do not end there. The contract awarded in November 2019 for ‘COVID-19 Research’ was not only instructed
to take place in Ukraine, it was in fact part of a much larger contract for a ‘Biological threat reduction program in Ukraine’.

Perhaps explaining why Labyrinth Global Health has been collaborating with Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance, and Ernest Wolfe’s Metabiota
since its formation in 2017.

ECONOMICS: There is no such thing as “price gouging”

Baby Formula Shortage Prompts NJ State Of Emergency: Murphy
Those looking to make a profit by increasing baby formula prices will face severe penalties in New Jersey, officials said.
Nicole Rosenthal, Patch Staff

*** begin quote ***

NEW JERSEY – Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency in New Jersey on Tuesday amid an ongoing shortage of baby formula due to inflation, supply chain issues and recalls in the state and around the country.

The declaration was signed in order to activate New Jersey price gouging laws consistent with efforts at the federal level, according to Murphy.

“We firmly believe that New Jersey is the best place in the nation to raise a family, and during this challenging time, we want to support our
families with all of the resources at our disposal,” Murphy said in a statement.

“To any retailer who may try to take advantage of vulnerable families during this shortage, let me be clear that this reprehensible action will not be tolerated. And to any New Jerseyan affected by this shortage, rest assured that my administration will do everything in our power to ensure families have access to the formula they need.”

*** end quote ***

Once again, this is just Gooferment stupidity. There’s no such thing as “price gouging”. Higher prices are the signals from the market that makes TWO things happen — conservation of a scarce resource and an incentive to entrepreneurs to provide resources or alternatives. Baby formula is no different that any other commodity. Argh!

Like the hotels taking in refugees from a natural disaster MUST raise their prices to encourage “conservation”.  If the price is “too high”, then a family will squeeze into one room rather than spread out into two.  Then this will leave that other room free for some other family.  The market place “rations” scarce resources by higher priced.

Also, entrepreneurs may open a spare bedroom during an emergency to make a few bucks because of those high prices.

Argh!

Real economists like Walter Williams have made much stronger arguments than I ever can. But it’s clear that politicians and bureaucrats never studied any economics or enjoy posturing for the publicity.

GOVERNACIDE: The Gooferment should never have the power of life and death

The heinous Buffalo supermarket massacre screams for the death penalty
By Michael Goodwin
May 17, 202210:01pm

*** begin quote ***

Politicians, the media and citizens across the nation are united in denouncing the white man who slaughtered 10 black people at a Buffalo supermarket. There is also fury at how he was able to buy the rifle he used months after cops ordered a mental-health evaluation following an earlier threat to carry out a shooting.

Yet despite the anger and wall-to-wall media coverage, largely unsaid is what the punishment should be. That’s at least partially because New
York doesn’t allow the obvious answer — the death penalty.

Although the Empire State has not carried out an execution since 1963, it had the law on the books for many years until 2007. So even if a
county district attorney wanted to seek the ultimate punishment in this case, the state legal code doesn’t allow it.

But federal law does. And if President Biden considers the massacre to be as heinous as he claimed in his Tuesday remarks in Buffalo, he will direct Attorney General Merrick Garland to have federal prosecutors take over the case and, if they win a conviction, seek the death penalty.

*** end quote ***

I don’t care how “heinous” the crime, and I find this one to be abhorrent, I NEVER want the Gooferment to kill people.

As a pro-life pro-choice little L libertarian, the Gooferment is immoral, ineffective, and inefficient. As well as untrustworthy. How often do we find that the Gooferment gets things wrong?

In this particular case, the Gooferment and its “systems” failed to detect and stop this killer.

Personally, I’d like to have an investigation of when drugs, if any, he was taking. SSRIs?

Let’s lock him up forever, but keep him alive to be studied.  And, as a constant reminder of the evil that he represents.

Besides capital cases, cost a small fortune and take decades.

Put that debit card in a safe or shred it. You’ll use this account for internal transfers only. Only put what your expenses are going to be in that account. A tough, gritty, and seemingly authentic war movie

rsimanski18 March 2002

If you’ve never heard of this movie before, you’re in good company. Apparently, neither have Leonard Maltin, Roger Ebert, or the editors of the “VideoHound Golden Movie Retriever.” Fortunately, the editor of VideoHound’s book on war movies had heard of it. Based on his favorable review, I taped and viewed the film recently. If you enjoy a good “battle” movie, be sure to catch this one–you won’t be disappointed.

“The Siege of Firebase Gloria” is a real film about real people in an unreal hell. Its apparently low budget was a blessing because it forced the creators to focus on plot and character development rather than on bombastic and meaningless special effects. Nevertheless, the battle sequences are believable and well-done.

This film is a sleeper that apparently did not get the exposure that it deserved. Then again, R. Lee Ermey and Wings Hauser, who played the lead roles, are not exactly box-office draws, and the other names in the cast were totally unfamiliar to me. However, Ermey, Hauser, and everyone in the cast do a solid job.

The action takes place during the Vietnamese Tet offensive in 1968, during a supposed holiday cease-fire, when the Viet Cong caught the South Vietnamese and U.S. forces by surprise with an all-out assault throughout South Vietnam. Ermey and his Marines are caught in the trap when they are ordered to help defend a small, meaningless outpost, Firebase Gloria, with virtually no help except, finally, from a small Air Cavalry unit. The Tet offensive was the beginning of the end for South Vietnam.

I never served in Vietnam, but this film has the feeling of being authentic. This is not a simplistic “good guys versus bad guys” film. The atrocities and inhumanities committed by both sides are not overemphasised but they are not glossed over either. They are just there as part of the fabric of the war.

Perhaps more importantly, they are shown in the context of a deadly, virtually unsurvivable siege and final battle. We sympathize with the Marines, of course, and we see them as ordinary, basically decent human beings. We may not condone some of the things that they do, but we understand why they may have seen no other alternative. It reminds me of the film “Zulu,” about British troops trapped in a similar situation a century ago.

For many of us, our image of R. Lee Ermey is as the over-the-top drill sergeant in “Full Metal Jacket.” His character in “Firebase Gloria” is more human and lower in key, yet you can see his character evolving into the drill sergeant following his tour in Vietnam. When you’ve walked through hell with your fellow battle-hardened Marines and been one of the few to come out alive, you know that you have to do everything in your power to prepare your green recruits to walk through that same hell.

Is “Firebase Gloria” on the same level of quality as “Platoon” and “Full Metal Jacket”? Not quite. I’d put it on a par with “Go Tell the Spartans,” which, despite a strong performance from Burt Lancaster, has also never gotten the exposure that it deserves. These films deserve to be seen, not forgotten.

*** end quote ***

It’s a good object lesson on the true cost of war; it was a meaningless one founded on deceit and lies.

I have no idea how historically accurate it is.  I have no idea if the morals of the story are worth deciphering.  I have no idea of how strong a stomach for watching.  I have no idea if the Viet Cong were subsumed by Hanoi as a result of this, or any other battle.

It certainly does a great job of tallying up the body count to the grunts on both sides.  How anyone could go through that and not come out with PTSD is beyond my comprehension.

It made me more a little L libertarian.

Calls Emerge For China To Deploy Digital “Helicopter Money”

Back in 2020, we sketched out the monetary endgame as follows: the Fed – along with all other central banks – was rushing to roll out a CBDC (digital dollar) so that when the next crisis hit, it could then directly deposit said “Digital Dollars” directly into the accounts of each American – or at least those Americans the Fed found worth of such stimmies – to offset a deflationary bust.

The beauty of the e-CNY is that the PBOC can set an expiration date, and determine which goods and services the money can be spent on, so that the cash won’t be saved or spent on financial speculation.

*** end quote ***

Of course, Gresham’s Law would seem to indicate that the e-CNY being spent would free up money could be “saved” in other ways. For example, buy food with your e-CNY and gold with what you would have spent on food.  Would seem to be counter productive; not creating a boom?

  • I agreed with the view in DC among administration, POTUS Trump was going to take CDC and NIH and FDA down to the very studs, he was going to fix it ONCE and for all; firing the corrupted officials

The alphabet health agencies in the US, the CDC, NIH, FDA, NIAID…all all corrupted political entities…they ‘used’ to do the public’s good, today,
they are an arm of the government, and I argue both sides, but they worked as a quartet to undermine Trump and damage him, DAILY…there is no question about that. And the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Bourla of Pfizer, Bancel of Moderna, Fauci of NIAID, and Francis Collins of
NIH…these 4 must be taken into a courtroom and drilled and if we find they did wrong, only if we find they did wrong, we clean them out of
every damn cent, every penny, penniless, walking the streets barefoot and shorts, ONLY, we punish any beast, any beast, who was reckless and
caused deaths in COVID when they knew the right thing and had the right data…

It’s clear to me that the “alphabet health agencies” need to be closed down.

All the personnel must be terminated with prejudice from future Gooferment employment.

The ringleaders should be prosecuted.

PARAMUS, NJ — A World War II resident from Bergen County was laid to rest Tuesday with military honors at the George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus. Eugene Walker Dednam, who lived in Hackensack his whole life, died on April 5 at the age of 100 according to his obituary from Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service.

Dednam was an only child, and never married or had children. No one came to claim his body, so Bergen County medical examiners and Sheriff’s Office employees looked for a living relative, as NorthJersey.com reported.

My name is Holly Warland, I’m 30 years old, I have Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, and I have won the right to die. In 2021, my home state of
Queensland (Australia) legalized Voluntary Assisted Dying – a process formerly known as euthanasia – for people suffering from terminal
illnesses. I advocated and fought for this law so that I could control when and how I end my suffering.

It’s a very sad story of what this woman is afflicted with.

I hope she finds peace.

With all the furor of Roe v Wade, this is a picture from the other end of life’s spectrum.

As a pro-life pro-choice little L libertarian, I think that the Gooferment, with it’s one size fits all diktats, is the worst way to “regulate” anything.  Life and death included.

With the proper safeguards, those in impossible situations should be allowed to “own their own body”.

Sadly, all I can do is empathize and send some good thoughts in her direction.

VETERANS: Bet not a lot of vets would vote for all the undeclared wars the USA has been in since WW2?

Damn Lucky

What is the final lesson you can share?

That we will continue to sort of stumble through questions about war, but never learn anything. For 50 years, I never spoke about war, much
less myself or what I did. I had nightmares. I had my inner struggles and inner demons and I had to overcome them in time, but by the same
token war was not something I wanted to remember or document. It was not until I got invited to speak to others about my combat experience, to
speak to groups of young people, that I realized I had a duty and obligation to reflect my true feelings and beliefs about war. The people
were so young. I recognized a duty to remind young people about the sacrifices made by other Americans, up to and including death, to make
life possible for them and others not yet born. When called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice, some of us did, and they should be remembered.
Those of us who survived owe it to them, and to each other, to remember what they sacrificed.

*** end quote ***

“A veteran is someone who at one point in his life wrote a blank check made payable to the ‘United States of America’ for an amount of ‘up to and including my life.'” -Anonymous

Remember Heinlein’s Starship Troopers’ universe? One does not merely have the right to be a citizen and vote by virtue of what Heinlein called the mere accident of birth; rather, one has to earn this right through Federal Service that tested one’s ability and willingness to sacrifice for the greater good of the polity. Bet not a lot of vets would vote for all the undeclared wars the USA has been in since WW2?

That’s the book that made me an anti-war little L libertarian.  And, I can empathize with Lucky’s realizations.

In my era, you had only two options — serve or Canada.  There were no CO status being give out; akin to the “religious objector” status to Covid vaccination.  My best friend from high school went underground and I never saw him again.  My other friend went into the Army and I didn’t see him for decades.  It was a terrible time.

And for what.

Just like all the “wars” since then, based on lies or egos.  And, no one is held to account.

Argh!

All the politicians and bureaucrats, who advocate for going to war in the Ukraine, should be given a gun and plane ticket.

Argh!

Now if there was just “Big Lettuce”, like “Big Pharma”, to publicize this win for “natural” or “alternative” medicine.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Let’s install “wrong way” prevention devices on major highways

North Carolina trooper uses his own car to stop suspected drunk driver
By Lorraine Taylor, Fox News

*** begin quote ***

A North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper is being credited for saving lives by putting his own life on the line to stop a suspected drunk driver from entering an interstate going the wrong way.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Trooper Cody Thao used his own patrol car as a barrier to stop the driver who was speeding up an exit ramp the wrong way. The dramatic crash was caught on dashcam video.

Police said Trooper Thao was called in to help with a pursuit in the early morning hours of April 8. Just as the trooper arrived, the pursuit arrived onto the I-40 eastbound ramp to Rock Quarry Road in Wake County. The suspect started driving the wrong way on the ramp.

The video shows Trooper Thao intentionally drive his own car into the path of the suspected drunk driver to stop him from entering the interstate going the wrong way. Amazingly, the trooper was not injured.

“I could not be prouder of Trp. Thao and his quick decision to stop the wrong way driver, his actions most undoubtedly saved lives,” Colonel Freddy L. Johnson, Jr., commander of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, said in a statement. “His willingness to put himself in harm’s way is representative of the lifesaving work our members do each day. Placing others before ourselves is not just a saying amongst the law enforcement profession, it’s a reality of what we do for the betterment of the communities we serve.”

*** end quote ***

This inspires three points:

FIRST, kudos to the trooper who risked his life to save others.  No doubt not doing this pretty much would ensure a potential catastrophic accident.

SECOND, my continued harping on why we down engineer roads to prevent this from happening.  Parking lot owners have devices that will shred tires if you back up over them or exit the wrong way.  Why can’t we deploy these on interstates?

THIRD, DUIs that are not “Micky Mouse” — over a numerical limit at a checkpoint, please — but damage property, hurt some one, or (Heaven Forbid) kill some one need to be SEVERELY punished.  No “first time” discount for that type of DUI,

That is something I’d expect in a Mexican drug cartel attack.

Correct me if I am wrong but those appear to be automatic weapons.

So much for the Philly and PA “gun control”!
