Unfortunately, private schools have suffered for over a century from a chronic threat to their health that has been the underlying condition in numerous COVID-19 losses: they have had to compete against “free” public schools that receive large taxpayer subsidies. And as the chart below shows, such subsidies have been growing for decades.
Given the massive problem of having to convince people to pay twice for education – first taxes for public schools, then tuition – it is not surprising that the nation has lost at least 133 private schools, enrolling around 21,000 students, due to the economic effects of COVID-19. Most had been suffering from serious financial ailments long before that.

In the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerzee, Gooferment Skrules have a ruinous effect on property taxes. The Teachers’ Union runs the State and unlikely to change. If we could KILL the whole concept of “free” “public” “education”.
Maybe if the First Amendment argument could ever get traction, then we could convince a court that the teaching of “secularism” amounts to teaching the worship of the Gooferment as a state “religion”.
Financially, “free public education” is a killer from a real estate tax perspective.
The political influencie of the Teachers’ Union is an anti-democratic tour de force. Given the inbreeding of teachers and politicians “We, The Sheeple” can never be free of these parasites.
I especially object to teachers serving on Boards of Education in town nearby where they work. It’s an interlocking conflict of interest.

Yet the vast majority of Americans still believe that retirees are entitled to Social Security benefits because they paid into the system their entire working lives.
But that couldn’t possibly be true. Not if the government can withhold half of your benefits and tax you up to 85 percent on the rest of them. If Americans are entitled to Social Security benefits because it is “their money,” then it shouldn’t matter how much money they make after retirement. Their income shouldn’t trigger the taxation of their Social Security benefits.
There is, in fact, no connection between Social Security taxes paid and Social Security benefits received. Benefits are calculated by an arbitrary formula that Congress can change at any time. Even worse, there is no contractual right to receive benefits. When Congress passed the Social Security Act of 1935 (H.R.7260), which was signed into law by Roosevelt on August 14, 1935, it put Social Security benefits in Title II and Social Security taxes in Title VIII with no reference in either title to the other.
So if Social Security is not a retirement plan, a trust fund, an annuity, an insurance program, a savings account, or a pension fund, then what is it? The true nature of Social Security is that it is an intergenerational, income-transfer, wealth-redistribution welfare program that takes money from those who work and gives it to those who don’t. And if that is the case, then Social Security — as much as food stamps, Section 8 housing vouchers, cash payments, and every other form of welfare — should be eliminated.

So when does this end? Based on the information being offered by the state, it doesn’t. There is no mention of a sunset provision in these rules. The government may seriously be considering making this “the new normal.” And it’s not going to be restricted to just New York State. You can bet that almost all of the blue states (at a minimum) are going to copy this system in short order. Are we really going to put up with this? We are constantly scolded about any activities that carry a hint of what someone considers racism, sexism, or any other “ism” you’d care to name. But discrimination against the unvaccinated is apparently fine and dandy. This cannot be allowed to stand as the way society works going forward and our elected officials need to hear about this loud and clear.

It’s just another way to divide “We, The Sheeple”.

On March 29, our Nation will commemorate National Vietnam War Veterans Day on its 50th anniversary. There are several virtual events, live webcasts and 2021 traveling wall schedules posted to help us remember and respect the nine million American men and women – more than six million of whom are living today – who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces during our involvement in Vietnam from November 1, 1955 to May 7, 1975.

Sadly for all those that didn’t come home and those that were so badly damaged — both recognized and unrecognized.
A special place in Hell for all the politicians and bureaucrats that sent them there.

Considered the world’s first analog computer, this marvel of ancient engineering used dozens of bronze gears to predict the positions of the Moon, Sun, and five planets, as well as the timing of solar and lunar eclipses.
Divers discovered the Antikythera mechanism while exploring a Roman-era shipwreck in 1901, but the ancient computer was in far from pristine condition—only about a third of it had survived the 2,000 years underwater.
Researchers have been trying to understand how the Antikythera mechanism worked ever since—and now, a team from University College London (UCL) may have finally cracked its code.

The village is not exactly a hotbed of crime. It has not had a murder since 2008, and last year reported no homicides, rapes, robberies or aggravated assaults. It did have two car thefts, one burglary, and 42 non-violent larcenies, according to state Division of Criminal Justice Services data.
Cummings’ massive compensation package included $86,256.66 in retirement contributions; $31,000 in extra vacation, a $23,893.02 night differential — and a $4,000 line item called “cleaning/clothing/college.” No one could fully explain what “3 Cs” taxpayers were being billed for.
