Jigsaw was founded, like many businesses, on the firm belief that there had to be a better way. Specifically, the idea for Jigsaw came in 2003 when I was VP of Sales at a public company in the Silicon Valley. Sick and tired of getting worn out lists of incorrect data from traditional data companies, I was struck by the idea that the only way to solve the problem was to somehow motivate a whole bunch of people to each provide a few pieces of the data puzzle. I figured that, due to dynamic nature of corporations and their employees, the only way to keep up with this rapid rate of change was to create an open and collaborative system.
