Did the Fast Food Minimum Wage Strike Just Backfire?
September 8, 2014
By Matthew Burke

*** begin quote ***

TPNN radio host Tim Constantine of The Capitol Hill Show reports that the fast-food strikers have just shot themselves in the foot…big time.

“This company called Momentum Machines, has built a robot that could change the fast food industry forever,” announced Constantine. “The robot can slice toppings like tomatoes and pickles immediately before it places that slice onto your burger, so you get the freshest burger possible.” he reported following the Astroturf strikes organized by big labor unions and not necessarily even the workers of businesses like Burger King and McDonald’s.

“The robot is more consistent, more sanitary, and complains less, than your average worker,” Constantine explained.

“Here’s the kicker,” revealed Constantine: “The robot can produce 360 hamburgers per hour,” which equates to approximately one burger every ten seconds, much faster and efficiently than any human could.

*** end quote ***

From an economic point of view, it’s a no brainer.

Robot Burgger Makers are cheaper than “Human Resources”.

I’ve told the tale of AT&T and the Elevator Operators. http://wp.me/pg9z-2Eb

Those ladies were casualties of the Federal Minimum Wage diktat. I know one who never had the skills to get another job. Wonder who else that happened to?

Cui Bono?

So let’s look behind the scene as to why this ASTROTURF group is campaigning.

Clearly, the minimum wage burger flippers will be out of a job faster than you can say: “You want fries with that?”

Big Labor knows that a rise in the minimum wage will directly escalate the Union wage scale. And bureaucrats know that the Gooferment pay scales will all rise to “compete”. Big Unions knows bigger paychecks means bigger Union dues.

So once again, we find the roots of the “minimum wage problem”.

Now dare I say this is a racial or “Social Justice” issue. Not for it, but against it. What is the Black Youth Unemployment rate? Will increasing the minimum wage decrease that? Not likely! And, how is it justice to put people on the dole.

Talk about “moral hazard”? It’s not even close.

Argh!

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Zero the corporate tax rate

Your Penny Toward a Whopper
By James Wilson

*** begin quote ***

I’m angered that Burger King has fled to Canada as a tax shelter. But I’m not angered at Burger King, which has only done what it thinks is best for its shareholders. I am, rather, angered at YOU. It isn’t Burger King that created the HIGHEST CORPORATE INCOME TAX in the world. YOU did that. And I DO NOT CONSENT!

*** end quote ***

“Corporations are merely tax collectors; not taxpayers. They merely pass their costs along.” Lawrence Alan “Larry” Kudlow is an American economist, television personality, and newspaper columnist. August 26, 2014 0830 on WMAL Mornings on the Mall Brian Wilson and Larry O’Connor

Essentially, taxing corporations hides the tax load on individuals. That’s one of the purposes of Big Gooferment is conceal how much tax we individuals are really paying. IF we knew, then the tax revolts would really start.

Add to that, the OTHER taxes that corporations pay (e.g., gas; utility; FICA for employees; “real estate”) also get passed along in their products. So when I go to the supermarket and buy a can of beans, I can’t tell how much of the price is cost of the beans, the cost to put the beans in the can, the cost of getting the can on the shelf, and the taxes paid along the way. It’s incalculable. And you politicians just love it that way.

Also, there is a another hidden layer of taxes buried in that can of beans, all of the costs of capital investment have taxes hidden in. Campbells buys a new machine to put beans in the can; how much in taxes is buried in that cost? Don’t forget the gas tax for the truck that delivered it. All buried.

Even worse is that the result of corporate taxes fall on the poor because they have spend to survive, those on fixed income who should be getting a break, families who have to spend, and the illegals who don’t get the full benefit of the taxes they are paying.

Bottom line: Only “real people” pay taxes.

My bottom line: I believe folks would be in revolt if they really knew how much in taxes they are paying.

Zero the corporate taxes. Cut the size of government.

The Forensic Mysteries of Robin Williams’s Death
By Jack D. Douglas
September 4, 2014

*** begin quote ***

He had decades of alcohol and drug problems, severe anxiety and depression for decades [like many great comedians], many family problems, recent open  heart surgery, early Parkinson’s, depression over those, drugs and professionals for such problems, and was an obvious suicide threat, as all family probably knew to keep them watching for any serious problems he might have.

He supposedly did not take any of the drugs he could have  used for a peaceful exit, he slept alone, he supposedly was left alone in his room in a wing of the house where no one could hear his body thrashing around and falling to the floor upon his hanging death, no one checked on him for about sixteen hours, his wife left home without checking on  him, late in the morning his business manager [?] called, got no answer and went over to check on him and found his body.

Is this negligent suicide? Forgetfulness suicide? Concealed homicide? Or simply suicide by a man so despairing and angry at himself that he chose a very painful way to kill himself rather than take a mere bodkin close at hand?

I don’t know the answers and certainly do not impugn anyone’s public statements, but I know that any serious forensic investigation would ask about all of that and far more.

How alone can a world famous comedian be when he is in grave peril in many ways?

*** end quote ***

Another possibility? Euthanasia.

I think the author brings up a very good question. Why was he SO alone?

Having had my spouse die on me, I know that I came up with a long list of stuff I’d done differently. That may not have made any difference at all.

One factor that the author overlooks is “money trouble” or “his perception of money trouble”. That could be a factor.

I knew one fellow who suicided because he was feeling technology obsolesce. He was a great guy to work for and his value to the organization wasn’t his understanding of some type of technology. Argh!

Guess we will never know.

An Enduring Mystery About Bush 41’S WWII Escape From Death

*** begin quote ***

The enveloping fog extends even to Poppy Bush’s most sterling political symbol: his record as a war hero. On September 2, 1944, the plane he was piloting was hit by Japanese fire during a bombing run over Chichi Jima, a small island in the Pacific. Bush successfully parachuted to the ocean surface, where he was rescued. His two crew members perished.

A documentary film about the rescue was aired as part of a 1984 Republican Convention tribute to Vice President Bush. And on September 2, 1984, forty years to the day of his doomed bombing mission, a ceremony was held at the Norfolk Naval Station, complete with a Navy band and an encomium from Navy Secretary John Lehman. Bush’s war service, Lehman declared, was the beginning of a career “which went on to mark some of the most remarkable achievements in the annals of American politics.”

I’d heard this many moons ago.

It’s interesting that the “truth” always emerges.

Over time, one expects that “reports” will change. The human memory is very fallible.

I’ve read about experiments that demonstrate humans don’t remember squat. Throw in stress and they are worth even less.

That’s why video is so dispositive.

Unfortunately, someone doesn’t realize the political realities of life.

Impeachment is the tool of the MINORITY party to remove a President that will hurt the party in the mid-term elections. Example, Nixon’s resignation.

RANT: Public Access to Court Electronic Record — making stuff unaccessible

SEPTEMBER 2, 2014 | BY VERA EIDELMAN AND AMUL KALIA
Right to Know: The PACER Mess And How to Clean It

*** begin quote ***

PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) is the government-run online system used by lawyers, the press, and the public to access public federal court records in the United States. The administrators of that system recently announced that a huge number of documents from five federal courts have been permanently removed from its database and are no longer publicly viewable. For one circuit court, only documents filed within the last 2.5 years are now available; for two other circuit courts, documents now go back only 4 years.

*** and ***

In response to the current PACER mess, several organizations, including the Free Law Project and Public.Resource.Org, have sent letters to the Chief Judge of each affected court, requesting the removed records so they can make them available once again to journalists, researchers, lawyers, and the general public.

These organizations are giving the courts the opportunity not only to make the records available online again but, even better, to make them available online for free. The courts have nothing to lose and much to gain by fulfilling this request: the records are already digitized, and simply need to be hosted somewhere. The Free Law Project and Public.Resource.Org are offering to do just that, and at absolutely no cost to the courts, litigants, academics, or the public. We urge the courts to take these organizations up on their offer.

*** end quote ***

Argh!

So let me understand this, the documents that used to be freely available, were removed so that they could then be made available for a fee?

And this helps us how?

TINFOILHAT: Secret evidence in 9/11 attacks?

Did Certain Foreign Governments Facilitate the 9/11 Attacks?
– and why is the US government keeping the evidence a secret?
by Justin Raimondo, August 29, 2014

*** begin quote ***

“Through its investigation, the Joint Inquiry developed information suggesting specific sources of foreign support for some of the September 11 hijackers while they were in the United States. The Joint Inquiry’s review confirmed that the Intelligence Community also has information, much of which has yet to be independently verified, concerning these potential sources of support. In their testimony, neither CIA nor FBI officials were able to address definitively the extent of such support for the hijackers globally or within the United States or the extent to which such support, if it exists, is knowing or inadvertent in nature.”

The alleged Saudi connection to the 9/11 attacks has had a lot of play: it is widely believed that in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 special permission was given to fly members of the Saudi royal family out of the country when the whole nation was in lockdown. This raised suspicions, along with the incontrovertible fact that the majority of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi citizens.

*** end quote ***

What is this “secret evidence” “barbara streisand”?!!!

I have dead fellow alums, dead Americans, and a lot of blood, treasure, and liberty has been lost because of this.

‘I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!’ I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell – ‘I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Things have got to change. But first, you’ve gotta get mad!… You’ve got to say, ‘I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Then we’ll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: [screaming at the top of his lungs] “I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!” — the character Howard Beale played by Peter Finch in the movie Network (1976)

I know a lot of folks think I have a tin foil hat. And, maybe I do, but it seems every time we “turn over a rock” a creepy crawler factoid slips out.

Where is the investigative press? Yeah, in bed with the Gooferment, Crony Capitalists, politicians, and bureaucrats!

POLITICAL: IRS Had “Secret Research Project”

Sunday, September 7, 2014

FROM JUDICIAL WATCH

*** begin quote ***

IRS Had “Secret Research Project” For Conservative Donor Lists

Judicial Watch continues to blow the lid off of the Obama administration’s increasingly feeble attempts to cover up its deliberate targeting of conservative groups by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in the months leading up to the 2012 presidential election. And the latest batch of emails JW has obtained in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit portrays an agency potentially willing to go to any lengths to bring down the president’s political opponents – including misusing the private, confidential information of those who dared contribute to the groups the IRS had targeted.

*** and ***

You may recall that then-IRS Commissioner Miller initially testified to Congress on May 17, 2013, that “instructions had been given to destroy any donor lists.” But donor lists were actually produced to the House Ways and Means Committee four months later.

In addition to using them for some “secret research project,” did the Obama IRS otherwise misuse the donor list names the agency knew it had no business having? Well, we have some clues. The Ways and Means Committee announced at May 7, 2014, hearing that, after scores of conservative groups provided donor information “to the IRS, nearly one in ten donors were subject to audit.” In 2011, as many as five donors to one conservative (c)(4) organization were audited, according to the Wall Street Journal. And this past June, the IRS admitted wrongdoing in releasing the conservative National Organization for Marriage’s (NOM) confidential tax return and donor list, which were published in March 2012 by the Human Rights Campaign. The Human Rights Campaign is the chief political rival to NOM; its outgoing president had been named a national co-chair of the Obama Reelection Campaign. The IRS reportedly agreed to pay NOM $50,000 to settle the lawsuit.

To this very day, Democrats in Congress who pressured the IRS to go after their enemies pretend that “progressive” groups were targeted in large numbers, as well – despite their being not a scintilla of evidence that conservative groups were the focus. The IRS confirms this again in these new emails, which also include a July 18, 2012, email to Lerner from Judith Kindell, senior technical adviser to Lois Lerner, showing that 75% of the nearly 200 non-profit 501 (c)(4) political activist groups targeted by the IRS were conservative, and only 5% were liberal:

*** and ***

Judicial Watch lawyers are preparing now to ask the court for relief in light of the Obama administration’s continuing efforts to thwart Judge Sullivan’s orders.

It is not surprising that it took a Judicial Watch lawsuit and a federal court order to force the Obama administration to produce these shocking emails from the IRS. And now we have learned the stunning news that Obama’s IRS had a “secret research program” that used the illicitly-obtained confidential donor lists of conservative and Tea Party organizations that opposed President Obama’s agenda or reelection. With all this IRS abuse, it is no wonder Lois Lerner said that questions by Congress and others were “dangerous.”

It is well past time that President Obama should be held to account about his repeated and recent falsehoods about his IRS scandal.

*** end quote ***

I urge everyone to support Judicial Watch.

They’re doing what the liberal media would do if this was an R administration and not a D!

Except in Florida there is no government compensation for your legal fees or bail.

The cure? Eliminate the Grand Jury and use Preliminary Hearings as a sort of a mini-trial. Allow the defense attorneys to subpoena documents an hear the actual witnesses testify under oath.
If we are to retain the Grand Jury system, defense lawyers must be allowed to participate as an equal to the prosecutor.

Secret Courts and our present Grand Jury system are un-American and just plain wrong.

Toxic Vaccines and Autism, Part 2.

*** begin quote ***

Dr. Wakefield felt that the vaccine could be causing inflammation of the colon in autistic children.  He never stated that MMR vaccine caused autism.  In fact, he stated at that meeting that we should spread out the vaccines and not give children too many vaccines when their immune system is not fully developed.  For that crime, he was persecuted and prosecuted by the media and the medical profession.  This recent study may or may not validate Dr. Wakefield’s research.  However, if it is found to be true, heads should roll.  CDC heads.

Has the MMR vaccine been studied properly? No. None of the childhood vaccines have been properly studied.  I am not anti-vaccine.  But, there needs to be better research about vaccines, especially in our children.

To vaccinate our children (or anyone) with mercury, aluminum or formaldehyde (which are commonly found in many vaccines) is ludicrous. Autism rates are skyrocketing.  I have no doubt that it is the overall toxicity load that is causing this epidemic increase.  If you choose to vaccinate, I suggest to slow down the schedule and use vaccines that are single dosed and do not contain toxic agents.

I pray for all the parents who have to make hard choices and live with the results of those choices.

A very difficult situation for all involved.

STORRS, Conn. – The NCAA has determined that UConn women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma committed a secondary rules violation when he made a phone call congratulating Little League pitching star Mo’ne Davis last month, the school announced Thursday.

Athletic Director Warde Manuel said the school accepts the decision but does not agree with it.

Auriemma told reporters Wednesday that he talked to the 13-year-old Philadelphia girl at Little League headquarters during the Little League World Series after a friend of his in the Philadelphia 76ers organization suggested it.

Wow, talk about Pharisees.

I think this “rule” needs to be reexamined.

The volunteers at Find A Grave seem to be largely people like Kenney—retired and looking for a hobby. Paul R has uploaded 289,847 photos since joining the site in 2010. “I am retired so I have time to walk through the cemeteries and take pictures,” he writes in his bio. Other people seem to be fascinated by cemeteries themselves.

My kind of hobby.

Now to apply drone technology.

Laff!

Eliminate all the fresh air and exercise!
