Dear Politician:

Defend America only. Do not manipulate or police the world.

Take immediate action to prevent President Obama from launching any military action in Syria.

The President is trying to fix something that cannot be solved by outsiders dropping bombs. This will not protect innocent people. It will kill innocents. Their blood will be on the President’s hands, and on your hands, unless you use your powers to resist.

Take Sarah Pallin’s counsel: “Let Allah sort it out.”

Is it tragic? Yes. But to quote some way: “There are many problems in this world, and some of them are mine.”

Be like the Swiss: MYOB! Blessed are the peacemakers. Peacemakers don’t start wars.

It’s a geopolitical movement with liberty-minded people, we could call them “small l” libertarians, some anarchists, people who really truly believe in less government, lower taxes, and more individual freedom, are moving to the state of New Hampshire. The original concept would say, “Okay let’s choose a small state that’s relatively low population,” and the original people who that committed to make this move chose New Hampshire as the destination. So eventually we’ll get 20,000 people to move. Once we have 20,000 people who have signed up, then that triggers the move, and people will start moving. However, some of us didn’t want to wait that long and we just went. If you’d told me that the tree fruit I’d have the most success growing in Central New Hampshire was peaches, I would have called you crazy – but you’d have been right.

While my apple trees that I planted a few years ago are looking terrible, my pear trees got destroyed by an unknown assailant, and my apricot tree went from looking-like-it-was-thriving to I-think-it’s-totally-dead in a span of 3 rainy weeks this spring, my 2 peach trees have been steady producers for the second year in a row.

Since I am going to New Hampshire soon — as soon as I can or no later than after the Free State Project gets the last of its 20k movers — and I’ve been thinking I’d like to “buy the farm”.

In a literal sense; not the military sense.

But in some respects, this will be my LAST move.

Teach, politics, and / or maybe farm.

My model will be George Washington. (Now all I need is a rich widow!)

I found this instructive since I was figuring fruit was “easy”.

Maybe pineapples?

Hasan Sentenced to Death in Fort Hood Shooting
A jury of U.S. Army officers sentenced Nidal Hasan to death for a mass shooting at Fort Hood in 2009 that ranks among the most worst soldier-on-soldier killings in the history of the nation’s military.

The sentence brings to a close a court martial in which the 42-year-old Army major offered essentially no defense to the Nov. 5, 2009, attack, in which 13 people were killed and 31 others injured. Maj. Hasan was convicted Friday of multiple counts of premeditated murder and attempted murder in connection with the shooting.

Sorry but the State NEVER has the right to put anyone to death.

(I can understand the death penalty for someone who is too dangerous to incarcerate. Think Devil’s Island somewhere.)

Strategically, it’s something that can never be undone.

Tactically, it’s just not pro-life.

Plus, as an adder, isn’t this just what he wants?

Sorry, but I disagree.

Jason Alba of JibberJobber has the idea that the future belongs to those who can have ten part-time jobs.

Each consisting of 4 hours each on average and that generate 10% of your desired income.

He’s not ruthless about any of the numbers; just the concept.

I’ve tried that when I was consulting and it was pretty effective as long as you could keep the sales funnel full.

The hard part was doing just that.

Still, I think he is correct. Especially as I see the may employers treat employees.

Two years after Our Girl passes, I get a bill for $200 for her diagnostic care.

R U <synonym for excrement> ing me?

Sorry, but she was fully insured. (Two coverages to be exact!)

AND now for the first time I hear that I supposedly owe you money.

(Aside from that the estate was legally closed a year ago.)

Can anyone suggest what I should do?

First think that came to mind was to call and say “Who the hell are you any way?” Not like I wouldn’t recognize any of the names of her docs!!!

Argh!

I’m a peaceful fellow, but this makes me crazed!

MEMORIES: Saturday’s shopping adventure

One of Frau Reinke’s favorite days was “back to school” shopping day. It’s was her chance to spoil children and share their simple joy in new duds. 

(As a fat old white guy injineer, I could care less about clothes. Shopping is just torture. And “skrule” was cruel and unusual punishment by some Yack in the Box!)

She directed me to carry on and gave me my instructions. I promised. So last Saturday, I did it again for her.

Funny! Nothing like a dirty old man wandering around young girls clothing stores. At least, when I was carrying a bag or two, I didn’t feel so self-conscious.

Any way, I write this post to share two serendipitous moments.

The first store we hit had music and the tune that played after our arrival was Taylor Swift’s @tswift13 “You Belong With Me”. I took that as an omen to encourage me to relax and enjoy the moment.

The day went on to its eventual conclusion when even a tween gets tired of “shopping”.

So I rewarded myself with some time at the AL410 for a Met’s loss, a Yank’s loss, and a few adult beverages.

Closing the joint, I headed home to “do” Jasper Jottings. I was strangely hungry. So I ducked into McD’s. (Yeah, I know non-primal carbs after 7PM.) Gotta Big Mac.

Home, ate, Jottings, sack!

This morning I looked at the McD receipt. It’s number 247.

That was Our Girl’s favorite-est number. 

Was that a message from the Universe?

Like well done, well pleased.

Or just coincidence?

You decide. I know what I’d like to believe.

I have many regrets:

(1) I didn’t move to Nevada as I planned.

(2) I didn’t make it big!

(3) I didn’t strangle the docs that “practiced” on Our Girl.

My regrets are even more for my Mom:

(1) She didn’t get Aunt Marion’s farm. (Maybe I can get my own.)

(2) She didn’t realize the risks of a war time romance.

(3) She didn’t see my Dad’s vision of life as better?

Regrets are dumb.

(1) Life is not a VCR with a rewind function.

(2) We make our own choices; looking back is like driving by looking in the rear view mirror.

(3) All you do is make yourself unhappy.

Can’t change the past; so change the future!
