What liberal media?

*** begin quote ***

I just want to make sure I understand this: These somewhat inconsequential anti-tax rallies — thousands around the country? — get heavy coverage, but heavily attended antiwar rallies and regular vigils get ignored. And we have a liberal media?

MY COMMENT

I wouldn’t characterize them as “inconsequential”. As anecdotal evidence, I have a friend (Yes, I do as surprising as that sounds!) who has never done anything political before. He’s so upset with ALL the politicians that he’s going out to his first political rally ever. A tea party. He’s upset that his children and grandchildren are being stolen from, put in debt unbelievable, and may never be free. That’s “consequential” to me.

And, “liberal media”, of which you are so much a part of, refers to its support of the “big government DEMOCRATIC” agenda. You won’t hear anything of “anti war” now, because it was all a sham to get the BLUE BIG GOVERNMENT candidate elected. Now that it’s Mister Obama’s war, it’s a good one. (The ONLY true anti-war candidate in the race was Ron Paul. You call him a wing nut, but he gave you a plan for ending the war. “Put all our people on the first thing smoking out of country.” And he’d have done just that. Why are we still in NATO?) There are no “principles” involved. We probably haven’t had a principled President since George Washington or Andrew Jackson.

See it’s all a giant scam. Guess you didn’t get the memo. It’s just “say whatever is needed” to get OUR GUY in power. Then we’ll all feather our nest.

So how’s Bush’s “Third Term” working out for you? Goldman Sachs is doing just fine. Was that the “change” you were “hoping” for?

Note: There is no difference between the D’s and R’s. They are two sides of the same coin. (More spending to share!) Co-conspirators in the same crime – robbing the taxpayers of the country and defrauding the rest of the citizens.

FUN: Socialism

Friday, July 17, 2009

FROM LUDDITE:

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.

——————————————–

That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”.

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.

The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D!

No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.

OBVIOUSLY, an urban legend. No professor gives out F’s any more. Grade inflation!

Shona Holmes- Against Nationalized Health Care Ad

One minute ad about health care. Very powerful stuff.

Send Obama-Care to where we sent Hilary Care. The discard pile.

USDA to oversee school snack food: Senate ag chair
Tue Jul 7, 2009 2:30pm EDT

*** begin quote ***

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Agriculture Department would be given the power to regulate all food sold in schools — including vending machine snacks — when Congress renews child nutrition programs, the chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee said on Tuesday.

Chairman Tom Harkin said he hopes the committee will start work on legislation to reauthorize school lunch programs in October or November, with a goal to conclude the work by the end of the year.

Please tell me that this is a mistake. Where in the Constitution do you find the authority to do this? And, even more importantly, why would you want ot do it? Makes zero sense. So we are going to pay federal bureaucrats to tell state bureaucrats to tell county bureaucrats to tell township bureaucrats to tell school bureaucrats what can go in a vending machine! Are you out of your mind? I think that you can make a case that the USDA should be closed down. Adding to it’s “mission” is absurd.

P.S.: I have a relative that votes in Iowa and I’m copying him on this note.

I suggest that we all do the same thing.

TECHNOLOGY: OFFICE2000 and version control

Support for Office 2000 at an end

Speaking of Microsoft Office, if you’re still using Office 2000, you might want to consider upgrading. Microsoft ended extended support for the ten year old productivity suite earlier this week. There have been a great many improvements to the Office programs since that version, so it’s probably time for a change anyway.

There’s something humorous calling Office2000 “ten years old”. It’s had more patches, fixes, and disasters; I felt on any given day I was dealing with a new monster. And, I never NEVER ever turn on auto updating.

No, Google Apps, isn’t much better.

I don’t have a good solution other than text files and printed copies.

Maybe the Luddite is rubbing off on me.

Argh!

The Sears Tower Skydeck opens its lure for thrill-seekers Thursday. It’s called the Ledge and it gives the illusion of standing on air a few feet outside the building, 103 stories off the ground.

Joe Biden: ‘We Have to Go Spend Money to Keep From Going Bankrupt’
Thursday, July 16, 2009
By Penny Starr, Senior Staff Writer

*** begin quote ***

Vice President Joe Biden told people attending an AARP town hall meeting that unless the Democrat-supported health care plan becomes law the nation will go bankrupt and that the only way to avoid that fate is for the government to spend more money.

*** end quote ***

With economics like this, I pity Posterity who will have to endure and clean up this mess.

LOCAL: Respond to pro “cap and tax” bill

Thursday, July 16, 2009

reinkefj has left a new comment on the post “Act locally think globally“:

The “cap and tax” was approved by the House; I hope the Senate comes to its senses. It has nothing to do with emissions, it has everything to do with gooferment control. When they electric bill goes up by 4 grand per family and Congress gets to waste more of our stolen wealth, then what will you be doing for a job. Won’t be able to afford a paper! And, it’ll be “climate change” is the problem as “global cooling” will be freezing out butts like it was in the Eighties. Liberals, panic the sheeple, to get control!

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Moment in Afghanistan

Well, Jones went on, after all those additional troops,…if there were new requests for force now, the president would quite likely have “a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot moment.”

This is pretty self-explanatory.
