Indeed, 73,000 blogs is a significant number to take down in one swoop, regardless of what some users of the site may or may not have been doing. Time will tell if it was indeed a copyright complaint that took down the service but the signs are certainly there. Not so long ago the conclusion that this type of action could be taken on copyright grounds would have been dismissed out of hand, but the current atmosphere seems to be changing.

Interesting. If the “wrong party” (R) had done this, then you’d expect to hear the media screaming like stuck pigs. But the “right party” (D) did it, so that makes it OK.
How soon, or how many times, do we have to learn to fight for our rights?
Now I don’t know much about the case. I don’t know if all 73k blogs were bad guys. I don’t know what precipitated “them” pulling the trigger. I do know in my gut that at least one of those was an innocent bystander.
Tonight, I’ll back up my blogs.
And, hope that the tyrants in power don’t pick on me!
