Dad abandons son, 5, at school after discovering he’s not his father

A man in China reportedly refused to care for his son after discovering he’s not actually his biological offspring — and left him at preschool.

The 5-year-old, who is being identified under the pseudonym “Xiao Rui,” was abandoned last week by his father, who dropped him off for school per usual but failed to return to collect him in the evening, according to local reports.

Xiao had a backpack with him containing only a change of clothes and a mobile phone, reported the Jiangxi Morning Daily via the South China Morning Post.

I always thought that Chinese society was more … … humane than this example.

I hope that the folks around Mom and Dad “instruct” them in the errors of their ways (i.e., ostracism; throw excrement on them).

If no one wants him, I’d take him.

Makes me sad.

Maybe the South China Morning Post should publish the parent’s pictures!

TINFOILHAT: A third explanation of Covid seems “possible”

A Thousand Times Greater Than the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster
Ron Unz • July 11, 2022

Prof. Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University ranks as a pillar of the mainstream establishment and served as chairman of the influential Covid commission established by the Lancet, a leading medical journal. In May, he broke his silence and co-authored an article in the prestigious Proceedings of the American Academy of Sciences making the case that the virus was clearly artificial and calling for an independent investigation into its possible American origin.

*** and ***

The absolutely unmentionable subtext of the current discussion is the obvious possibility that the Covid virus was created in an American lab and then deliberately deployed against China and Iran just as the Iranian government had claimed at the time, eventually leaking back and devastating America and the rest of the West.

One can never discount the perfidy of the Gooferment.  Any Gooferment!

One might guess that China released it in China and Iran to “attack” the USA.  That is a “false flag”.

You can NEVER assume that anything is the truth.

So perhaps this will never move from the state of “possible”.

Sigh!

Trust no one; verify everything.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: How to resist tyranny? The Paperclip!

The Paperclip Was Used As a Symbol of Resistance During World War II
September 9, 2013 Emily Upton

*** begin quote ***

  • The Norwegians found other ways to resist the Nazis, too. 12,000 of the teachers who were told to teach Nazism went on strike. 1000 of them were deported and sent to prison camps immediately, but after six months the remaining educators hadn’t relented, and the Nazis gave it up as a lost cause—having teachers out of the classroom was more detrimental to the war effort than having them in classrooms, but not teaching Nazi party ideals.
  • Similarly, the churches that were told to teach “obedience to the leader and the state” found themselves in desperate need of people to lead church services. Every bishop in Norway resigned, along with 90% of the clergy. The humiliated German soldiers were forced to rescind the doctrine—another win for Norway.
  • Meanwhile, the general public of Norway were waging a silent war of their own. In addition to donning paperclips, they made life difficult for the German soldiers in various subtle ways. Many of them refused to speak German, even though it was a widely known language at the time, and would point the soldiers in the wrong direction when telling them how to get from point A to point B. They refused to sit beside German soldiers when they rode on public transportation—an act of defiance that enraged the Germans so much that they made it illegal to stand on the bus if there were seats open.
  • An illegal press was established in order to keep everyone informed after the Nazis attempted to cut Norway off from the BBC. When the German military began to conscript young men into the army, thousands fled to neighbouring Sweden to escape service. The Germans promptly withheld ration cards from those who didn’t sign up—at which point the resistance stole some 150,000 ration cards, and the military was forced to stop their efforts on that front.
  • As for the Norwegian Jews, although 700 were shipped to Auschwitz, the remainder—1000 or more—were smuggled into Sweden by the resistance, which was no small accomplishment.
  • Germany occupied Norway until the end of the war. Around 40,000 Norwegians were imprisoned during the interim, and over 10,000 lost their lives. Another 40,000 or so had escaped to Sweden and slowly began returning home when the Germans began to leave.

RANT: The draft is slavery and the draft age should be the drinking age; end the draft

Pleases crown drink ale age conscription

I think that if we are to have a draft law standing by, then the draft age should be the age for everything.

As a little L libertarian, I wonder if people will realize the contradiction of the draft and slavery?

Victory! Another Court Protects the Right to Record Police

Tuesday, July 12, 2022

When people fear that the police are about to break the law, they pull out their phones and hit “record.” Doing so promotes police accountability and public discussion of important issues. So, it is great news that yet another federal appellate court has ruled that people have a First Amendment right to record on-duty police.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Agree — let’s cut off any and all tax dollars from this dumpster fire of a news outlet (i.e., NPR)

Phil Magness writes sensibly on his Facebook page:

I was never a fan of Abenomics for reasons that are probably not hard to deduce. That said, it’s useful to contrast NPR’s depiction of Shinzo Abe’s legacy in their assassination coverage (“divisive,” “ultranationalist”) with NPR’s generally reverential obituary for Fidel Castro, which buried any hint that he was a mass-murdering Marxist autocrat to the bottom of the article and even cast it as a “debated” part of his legacy.

It’s long past time to cut off any and all tax dollars from this dumpster fire of a news outlet.

Ortley Beach & North Beaches
Toms River Police Recount Violence, Shocking Disrespect From Teens During Holiday Incidents
by Daniel Nee July 8, 2022

*** begin quote ***

Toms River police released details of two incidents over the recent Independence Day holiday period that recounted a violent mob scene playing out in Ortley Beach, with hundreds of teenagers – many intoxicated – openly taunting police officers and, at times, resorting to violence.

Over the past year, state policies on police interactions with juveniles have come under the microscope, with concerns raised over directives which bar officers from speaking with, arresting or notifying parents about illegal activities in certain circumstances. Under social justice legislation adopted over the past two years, officers could be charged with civil rights offenses if they violate the policies. The recent incidents in Ortley Beach strongly indicate that teens have caught on, challenging officers and ultimately throwing rocks at them.

Most teens in the area for the holiday weekend were “frequenting local businesses and engaging in lawful activities,” said police spokeswoman Jillian Messina, but two incidents – recounted below by police in a statement issued Friday – generated a significant police response.

This is the complete breakdown of society.

All caused by that “trophy for everyone” mentality and “juveniles aren’t responsible for their actions”!

Time to lower the boom on the miscreants.

Internet Archive’s Controlled Digital Lending Program Is Lawful Fair Use That Preserves Traditional Library Lending in the Digital World
Press Release
July 8, 2022

*** begin quote ***

SAN FRANCISCO—The Internet Archive has asked a federal judge to rule in its favor and end a radical lawsuit, filed by four major publishing companies, that aims to criminalize library lending.

The Internet Archive, headquartered in San Francisco, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit library which preserves and provides access to cultural artifacts of all kinds in electronic form. The motion for summary judgment, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and Durie Tangri LLP, explains that the Archive’s Controlled Digital Lending (CDL) program is a lawful fair use that preserves traditional library lending in the digital world.

The brief explains how the Internet Archive is advancing the purposes of copyright law by furthering public access to knowledge and facilitating the creation of new creative and scholarly works. The Internet Archive’s digital lending hasn’t cost the publishers one penny in revenues; in fact, concrete evidence shows that the Archive’s digital lending does not and will not harm the market for books.

“Should we stop libraries from owning and lending books? No,” said Brewster Kahle, the Internet Archive’s founder and digital librarian. “We need libraries to be independent and strong, now more than ever, in a time of misinformation and challenges to democracy. That’s why we are defending the rights of libraries to serve our patrons where they are, online.”

Report: Joe Biden Sold Nearly One Million Barrels from U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve to CCP-Owned Oil Company Linked to Hunter Biden Firm
Jordan Dixon-Hamilton 7 Jul 2022 3:25

President Joe Biden’s administration sold 950,000 barrels of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve to a Chinese state-owned gas company that has financial ties to a private equity firm cofounded by Hunter Biden, according to a Washington Free Beacon report.

In April, Biden’s Department of Energy announced the nearly one million barrel sale to Unipec, which is the trading arm of Sinopec. Sinopec is wholly owned and operated by the Chinese Communist Party.

Unipec reportedly purchases oil across the globe and then apparently sells it through its Sinopec Marketing subsidiary.
