Brent Bozell: Tim, I think at the end of the day, one of two things are going to happen. One is that the media hostility against Trump is going to ultimately give a couple of points to the Democrats, and that could sway the election. On the other hand, the media’s hostility to Trump could ultimately give Trump a couple of points that might sway the election to him. Either way, I think the media are going to decide this election. Now, if you put a gun to my head and said pick one, I would pick that it’s going to help him because the more you listen to them, the more unhinged they are.

I’d call it an open secret in the world of cars but for the fact that everyone knows about it: the dual-clutch transmission in the last-generation Ford Fiesta and Focus was an utter disaster. Since the early ’90s, millions of right-hand-drive cars from Japan have found their way into Russia, a country that drives on the right side of the road, just like the U.S. and totally opposite from Japan. That is to say, for these cars, they’re going to operate on the wrong side of the road than what they were designed for.The JDM import industry in Russia peaked in 2008, when over 500,000 second-hand vehicles from Japan were imported. Since then, economic and legal factors have dented the trade, which has declined “ten-fold” in recent years. Unsurprisingly, rumors float that the era of right-hand-drive is slowly coming to an end.

“Let’s say [a filmmaker] wanted to do a biographic movie about Heath Ledger, and rather than have an actor play Heath Ledger, they used a digital version,” says Bennett. “We think that would be perfectly fine. Now contrast that example with a [re-created] Heath Ledger becoming the next Captain Jack Sparrow in a Pirates of the Caribbean movie. That wouldn’t be OK. That would threaten actors’ livelihood.”
So it’s not just exploitation. Digital technology also puts jobs at risk.
But, as Bennett acknowledges, if Heath Ledger’s heirs were bequeathed his right of publicity in a will and then licensed it to Disney so a deepfake version of Ledger could play Jack Sparrow, that would be totally fine by law.
In fact, right now, there are only a few A-list actors in Hollywood, and the biggest reason they are not in every film is limitations on their time. But if the technology developments enable them to simply license their name, image and voice and not really spend any time actually on set, wouldn’t that potentially take away jobs? All the roles just might go to Dwayne Johnson and Jennifer Lawrence.

There is a conspiracy theory I read in a vintage sewing machine group that the real reason you see older Singer machines pop up for insane prices from time to time is because it’s a money laundering scheme. You put the ad up, mark it a few days later as sold, screenshot it incase the IRS comes looking, put the money in a legit bank account and toss the $15 machine you just “sold” for $1500 into the trash. After watching ads for a few months I’m beginning to think there is something to it.

Of course, all of these decadent European countries have gun control laws, but nevertheless, the recent invaders are armed. I have heard nothing from the gun control lobby about disarming them. Try to imagine what would happen to a Swede who stuck a gun’s barrel into the mouth of a privileged invader. No chance of that. The spirit of the Vikings is stone dead in Scandinavia. Re: A suggestion about “gun violence”
Dear Mr. President:
May I respectfully suggest one action that you can take immediately to cut down on crime and gun violence?
Ask the Attorney General to survey all the Deputy Attorney Generals each month and report how many “Felon In Possession” convictions each one has “concluded”. Every month, “invite” the lowest performer to personally come and explain to you why they are on the bottom of the list. If you don’t like what you hear or the same individual shows up again, then thank them for their service and accept their resignation. Very simple. Very efficient. And, I believe very effective. As a business executive, you know that no one will want to face the boss under those types of conditions.
Now I am just a retired IT executive, who’s an NRA and GOA member, and I believe that all responsible gun owners would cheer that someone is doing something about the “problem” that focus on the criminals. And, since those criminals are “street smart”, I believe they will suddenly pay attention to not to be “in possession”.
Yes, I voted for you in the last election on the hope you’d get the US out of Afghanistan. Next election, it looks to me that Tulsi Gabbard might be my choice to make peace. Maybe she should be your running mate?
Respectfully
Ferdinand J. Reinke

Sharp shaking can snap the wood supports connecting such homes to their foundations. The high-profile lawyer who defended Jeffrey Epstein in his 2008 sex abuse case in Florida and helped negotiate what many have criticized as a lenient plea deal says he had no idea about the extent of the allegations against Epstein when he defended him more than a decade ago but insists he would do it all over again.”I would try to get a better deal. The job of a criminal defense attorney is to try to get the best possible deal,” he said.
# – # – # – # – #
Absolutely correct. If anyone is to be taken to task, then it’s the prosecutorial side. Now could we have a list of EVERYONE of Epstein’s political “friends” who interceded on his behalf to get the deal? That might make for interesting reading and an investigation of where “those bodies” are buried. Any wagers on who Epstein will roll over on to get out of this jam?

It appears I have rattled some cages. I recently appeared on RT to talk about how the United States weaponizes the dollar and wields it like a billy club to advance U.S. foreign policy objectives. I specifically mentioned how the U.S. can use the dollar-denominated SWIFT payment system as a tool and the threat that this kind of economic warfare poses to the U.S. domestic economy.

Not only that, debt monetization by the Federal Reserve makes American interventionist wars possible. U.S. wars since 2001 have cost each American taxpayer $23,000. if they had actually had to write a $1352.94 check to the Pentagon every year for the last 17 years, the foreign wars would have ended long ago. Thanks to the Fed, they don’t have to.

There is simply no excuse today for not enforcing occupancy-based performance measures for all transportation modes, including AV deployments. A vehicle with zero occupants should not be treated the same as a vehicle with one occupant, or two occupants, regardless of its level of automation. The existence of reliable consumer technology for verifying occupancy means that there is no longer any excuse for federally sponsored AV deployments to be exempt from reporting on occupancy. Such a course correction will result in new opportunities for local and state agencies to safeguard and improve the performance of their road networks, and for auto companies to fully participate in solving the problem of traffic congestion.

But here’s the blurb from his book: “All members of a direct republic sign…the constitution/social contract. This contract states you will not engage in murder, rape, theft, and basic crimes against humanity. Once signed, the individual becomes their own representative and places social contributions directly into the funding pools for the social projects they approve of.”

Let me get the straight: The Chinese Communists, with all their resources, still haven’t compiled and translated a basic biography of Donald Trump? He knew the Post Foundation considered the Mar-A Lago estate in South Florida a white elephant that they couldn’t afford to properly maintain, at the cost of several million greenbacks per year. (The U.S. government turned it down as a tax-funded “Winter White House”; even the Smithsonian turned it down.) So when Marjorie Merriweather Post’s descendants put the property on the market at $25 million, Trump offered . . . 15.
They snorted at this upstart. The nerve! And he was even proposing to let Jews and blacks play golf there! (Play back that part where they claim Trump, a former New York Democrat whose grandchildren are Jewish, is a “racist,” will you?)
But when they couldn’t find anyone else to meet even THAT price, they grudgingly went back to Trump . . . who proceeded to tell them “You had a chance at 15 but you turned it down. My offer is now $12 million.”
Outraged at such tactics, the Posts turned him down AGAIN, . . . and paid the price again, eventually selling to Trump for . . . $8 million.

Why is liberalism failing? Several causes, said Putin. Among them, its failure to deal with the crisis of the age: mass and unchecked illegal migration. Putin praised Trump’s efforts to secure the U.S. border:
“This liberal idea has become obsolete. It has come into conflict with the interests of the overwhelming majority of the population. … This liberal idea presupposes that … migrants can kill, plunder and rape with impunity because their rights as migrants have to be protected.”
