Conclusion. This was an embarrassing failure of our county election system. Voters were angry that the voting machines didn’t work, and had an uncomfortable feeling depositing the ballots in a slot where who-knows-what would happen to them. For over a decade I have been advocating for preprinted hand-marked paper ballots, counted by precinct-count optical scanners, so it was embarrassing for me too.
But I still advocate for preprinted hand-marked ballots, because all of the alternatives are much, much worse: if a touchscreen ballot-marking device makes a mistake or is hacked, you might never know that the vote totals are wrong. With preprinted hand-marked paper ballots, even if there’s intentional computer hacking, those hand-marked paper ballots can be recounted. In Mercer County, the system worked. We had the paper ballots and we counted them, so we can be confident our results reflect the will of the voters. Even with these mistakes, this election was more secure and more trustworthy than previous elections that had no paper ballots.
Our election administrators have some work to do – and they know it – in improving communications with vendors, logic and accuracy testing, and chain of custody protocols. I feel confident that they’re on it.

And obviously it takes the longest to understand. And through education, I think it’s super important — like you just educated me now on the pronunciation of your country.”

In 2014, he bragged that President Barack Obama was serious about enforcing immigration law and had “deported more people than any other president.” Schumer used to at least mouth some lines about securing the border when pushing for legalization. As a pro-life pro-choice little L libertarian, I don’t want the Gooferment killing people as a general rule. In a declared war, maybe. In an “active shooter” situation, definitely to stop killing innocents. In the case of murderers who are too dangerous to incarcerate (e.g., a murder kills a prison guard) maybe.
Congress has the Constitutional power of Marque and Reprisal. That’s different than the Gooferment killing someone directly.
Certainly the President should NOT be allowed to kill American citizens in a foreign country!
Look at all the Project Innocence cases. You can’t reverse a death penalty.
And that doesn’t consider the time and cost of a “death penalty” case.
So let’s make a life sentence for murder a real life sentence. No parole; no compassionate release.

First, I’m not a fan of Alex Jones. And, he has a First Amendment right to publish his theories. And, I don’t think Sandy Hook was “crisis actors”.
But, I don’t understand how an FBI agents get 90M$ from Alex by any stretch of law or logic.
Hurt feelings aren’t a windfall opportunity.
I am horrifies by the tragedy.
The Gooferment politicians and bureaucrats failed the public in so many ways in this and other shooting cases. But they pay no penalty.
I don’t see how Alex Jones broke “the law”; maybe common decency or maybe common sense, but that’s about it.

Nothing seems to wake up “We, The Sheeple” who are sleepwalking towards this economic disaster.
Look at modern day Japan that has a debt to GDP of 230%. The USA is 124%. This is pure insanity.
What can we tell future generations other than “sorry suckers; deal with it”?
What should we be telling people to do? Like Casandra, the Oracle at Delphi, who could see the future but couldn’t change it.
If I was advising a youngster, then it would be to study and live like the Amish. Buy land, do some farming, bury some bullion, get a cheap education, minimize your wants, and prepare for the hard times to come.
Success for your generation is: (1) ruthless financial discipline — no bad debt; (2) a life long interest in learning — education — a degree — they can’t take it away from you; (3) a NON-OFFSHORABLE white collar job in order to save big bux; (4) a blue collar skill for hard times — never saw a poor plumber; (5) one or more internet based businesses — your store is always open; (6) a free time hobby that generates income; and (7) a large will-maintained network of people who can “help” you.
Like the Amish!
Argh!

Try and do almost anything without an id?
Sorry, but everything that I’ve seen makes me think that the politicians and bureaucrats like the current chaos just fine.
I don’t but it appears that “We, The Sheeple” just don’t care.

For all the current turbulence in these retirement plans – from their rocky recent market performance to asset managers’ politicization of their investments through the “environment, social and governance” agenda – the main problem lies in their flawed design decades ago, a range of retirement experts say.
They say many retirees – particularly the less well-off – are losing out because the tax-advantaged accounts favor the well-compensated who are better able to save; also, because of the plans’ temptingly relaxed borrowing rules, typically high fees, complexity, and a presumption of investing competence on the part of ordinary workers.

Let’s not overlook the fact that “social security”, in addition to being a racist wealth transfer program from poor minority men to rich white women, is un- or at least very under-funded. It seems unlikely that, at even the best rate of inflation of 2%, the “benefits” payment will be in “shrunken purchasing power’. In the case of “social security”, it’s likely to be reformulated as a “welfare” program with all sorts of income limits and regulations. The “golden rule” (i.e., he who has the gold makes the rules” means that the Gooferment will be making the rules. When the “can” (i.e., deficit, debt, interest expense) can no longer “be kicked down the road”, then Joe-SixPack will suffer. If I was young, I’d store my “wealth” in things the Gooferment can’t tax (i.e., precious metals in my backyard) or touch (i.e., all pensions, IRAs, and 401Ks are seized in exchange for “enhanced” social security “benefits”). It can happen here (i.e., FDR’s gold recall). Argh!
