INTERESTING: And segregation was designed in?

How the Manhattan Project’s Nuclear Suburb Stayed Secret
Oak Ridge, Tennessee, once home to 75,000, went up fast and under the radar. But it was built to last, too.
BY JESSICA LEIGH HESTER MAY 03, 2018

*** begin quote ***

At least for some. While white employees lived in relatively cushy digs, their black counterparts were more likely to be placed in structures known as “hutments,” little more than plywood frames without indoor plumbing. “Segregation was actually designed in from the start,” Moeller says.

How evil are the politicians and bureaucrats that did this?

I find that it was (a) designed in from the start; and (b) that people accepted it as fait accompli.

Of course, it wouldn’t happen today, but what evil was in these men’s hearts from the get go.

Sigh. So sad.

Is everything that Gooferment does inherently “evil” and “flawed”?

Seems so.

Unstoppable Copier — freeware that saved my bacon – DonationCoder.com

Thursday, May 10, 2018

These days, looking for “free” software is an utter nightmare.  As most of you know from experience, most “free” software nowadays is basically non-functional trial software whose main job is to trick you and then make you buy the full version after you install a bunch of adware.Imagine my surprise at finding an amazing piece of real freeware: Unstoppable Copier.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Big Brother raises the cost of buying a house

Thursday, May 10, 2018

California expected to mandate solar panels for new homes
By Amy Lieu | Fox News

*** begin quote ***

The California Energy Commission will vote on the new solar energy standard Wednesday, Southern California News Group reported.

“California is about to take a quantum leap in energy standards,” Bob Raymer, technical director for the California Building Industry Association, told the newspaper. “No other state in the nation mandates solar, and we are about to take that leap.”

The proposed solar standards would add about $25,000 to $30,000 to the cost of home construction, said C.R. Herro, Meritage Homes’ vice president of environmental affairs, according to the report.

But the cost should result in a savings of $50,000 to $60,000 over 25 years, he said.

So it sounds like, from the individual buyers pov, it’s a wash.  What’s the time value of money?  And, how much do they “save” by buying versus renting?

The Gooferment puts the house out of reach price wise.

You can think about it like you have to buy the house with the extra option.  Even if you don’t “need” it to get in the door or can afford it.

The ego of the politicians and bureaucrats is amazing and will keep people “poor” and renting.

Argh!

Don’t Eat These

Wednesday, May 9, 2018

By Dr. Mercola If you’re still holding out hope that science will eventually prove artificial sweeteners to be beneficial, or at the very least harmless, you’re likely to be disappointed. Again and again, research shows no-calorie sweeteners such as aspartame and sucralose cause the same problems as excess sugar, and then some.

Seems like the “artificial sweeteners” should be considered poison.

Piers Morgan: Roman Polanski shouldn’t dare brand #MeToo as hysteria | Daily Mail Online

Wednesday, May 9, 2018

Sometimes, real life is beyond parody.I was scrolling through Twitter today when my eyes alighted on a post that read: ‘Oscar-winning filmmaker Roman Polanski says the #MeToo movement that sheds light on sexual misconduct of powerful men in Hollywood is ‘mass hysteria’ and ‘total hypocrisy’.Sorry, WHAT?For a moment, I thought this had been tweeted by a satirical site like The Onion. Then I saw it had actually been put out by highly respected news wire service, the Associated Press.

Maybe I shouldn’t smash critics, but I can’t help it

Wednesday, May 9, 2018

But the crazier and more irrational it is, the more the state thrives on it — because the more coercion, propaganda, and state-sponsored groupthink it will take to engineer people’s agreement.Incidentally, this is why the state loves “equality” — a concept so compendiously broad that its definition can be endlessly expanded. The state grows ever more powerful and intrusive in pursuit of equality’s ceaseless demands.Equality can never be attained, for the very moment after we achieve it, when someone first voluntarily transacts with someone else, resources will have been shifted around and “equality” will already have been disturbed. That’s why the state loves it.And that’s why the state loves LGGBDTTTIQQAAPP. The more letters, the more bizarre to bourgeois sensibilities, the better. That means that in order to impose it, the state will get to flex — and bulk up — its muscles.

The Gooferment, and its monopolies, is the problem.  “They” are not here to help.  Just attempting to control and manipulate “We, The Sheeple” to maintain their power positions that feather their nests at everyone else’s expense.

Argh!

Hating Betsy DeVos

Wednesday, May 9, 2018

The department she inherited is a good example of that. K-12 schools are controlled and funded locally, but taxpayers are forced to ship education money to Washington, D.C., where bureaucrats there grab some, and then ship the rest back – with strings attached.

Why do we have a Federal Gooferment “Department of Education”?

It needs to be shut down!

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Defy Mueller, Mr. Trump – LewRockwell

Wednesday, May 9, 2018

*** begin quote ***

If Donald Trump does not wish to collaborate in the destruction of his presidency, he will refuse to be questioned by the FBI, or by a grand jury, or by Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his malevolent minions.Should Mueller subpoena him, as he has threatened to do, Trump should ignore the subpoena, and frame it for viewing in Trump Tower. If Mueller goes to the Supreme Court and wins an order for Trump to comply and testify to a grand jury, Trump should defy the court. The only institution that is empowered to prosecute a president is Congress. If charges against Trump are to be brought, this is the arena, this is the forum, where the battle should be fought and the fate and future of the Trump presidency decided.

“The only institution that is empowered to prosecute a president is Congress.”

Isn’t this the essential Constitutional check ‘n’ balance?

The Dead Old White Guys were fearful of a “tyrant” but knew the essential qualities of “politicians”.  Untrustworthy.

The civilization wreckers’ next target

Tuesday, May 8, 2018

Connecticut just became the tenth blue state to pledge to cast its electoral votes for whichever presidential candidate wins the popular vote nationally.

Why?

Because according to the measure’s proponents, the electoral college — along with everything else that’s more than 10 minutes old — is backward and stupid.

# – # – # – # – #

Why we shouldn’t subvert the Dead Old White Guys’ “Electoral College”!

Take a look at the post Dead Old White Guys’ First Ten and see how they screwed up the country. Some are confused and confusing (i.e., the 14th) — subject to misinterpretation; at least one was stupidly wrong (i.e., the 18th) — lead to organized crime that even the 21st couldn’t fix; and the biggest disaster (i.e., the 17th) — direct election of Senators — that deprived the States from preventing the Federal Gooferment from unfunded mandates and “buying” States cooperation with “Other People’s Money”.

Now we complain about “too much money in politics”, just repeal the 17th! Put the State Legislators back on the hot seat. Argh!
