Report: Somali Immigrants Ran $100 Million Daycare Fraud | Breitbart

Friday, May 18, 2018

“We are working on and currently overwhelmed with significant fraud cases involving organized crime defrauding hundreds of millions of dollars. Significant amounts of these defrauded tax dollars are being sent overseas to countries and organizations connected to entities known to fund terrorism,” Stillman wrote to his supervisors at the Minnesota Department of Human Services in an email on March 28, 2017, which was provided to the committee.

Another example of a failed “immigration” policy to drain the welfare state.

U.S. Healthcare Isn’t Broken–It’s Fixed

Friday, May 18, 2018

Healthcare/sickcare will bankrupt the nation by itself. If you want to understand why the U.S. healthcare system is bankrupt, financially, morally and politically, then start with this representative anecdote from a U.S. physician.

U.S. Sickcare is organized to maximize profits by any means available.

That’s the essence of the problem.  The interests of the patient and the suppliers are not aligned. Like the fiduciary standard in the financial services industry, we need to realign the rewards.

‘Ope!’: The All-Purpose Expression of Midwestern Politeness | Chicago magazine | Politics & City Life May 2018

Friday, May 18, 2018

This magical, monosyllabic exclamation applies to a whole slew of circumstances: Accidentally pulling on a push door; trying to flag down a waiter; realizing you were served the wrong dish; hearing a mildly juicy piece of gossip; realizing a car is coming when you’re about to cross the street; thanking someone for opening a door for you; feeling the first drops of rain. “Ope!” works for all of ‘em. It’s a way to announce your presence in the most passive, non-intrusive way possible. We’re too kind to say “Excuse me”—that can come off as pushy, right? Plus, given our near-sociopathic tendency to chat up strangers, any word longer than “ope” might get us unintentionally roped into conversation.

Seems dumb to me, but to each their own.

Why You Should Never Buy iPhone Insurance: 6 Reasons

Friday, May 18, 2018

Insurance or extended warranties aren’t required purchases for all iPhone owners. You may already have a good idea about whether your phone might get broken or be stolen before you’re ready to upgrade to a new phone. If you need the extra coverage, make sure you know all the details before you make your purchase or, when the time comes to use your insurance, you may be sorry.

I always thought almost any kind of “product insurance” was a scam.

Especially on any item that costs less than 200$.

You really have to self-insure anything below where it would hurt to have to replace on your own (i.e., home, auto, an “unbrella”).

Argh!

As for poor “customer service” or “tech support”, that’s the norm today.  Disgraceful, but no one seems to care.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Records dump may conceal “interesting facts”

The Latest: Hotel guest reported hearing Vegas shots nearby

*** begin quote ***

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Latest on the release by Las Vegas police of witness statements and officer reports in the investigation of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history (all times local):

*** and ***

4:55 p.m.

Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos told police he was afraid he was going to be killed when he was shot by gunman Stephen Paddock while investigating a stairwell door that was being kept shut by a metal bracket.

Records released by Las Vegas police Wednesday show Campos was interviewed Oct. 4 on the 32nd floor of the casino-resort. That’s the same floor from which the gunman carried out the attack.

Campos says he initially received a call from dispatch around 10 p.m. and was told to check “doors” as the property has a system that signals when a door has been opened for long periods.

He says he reached the 32nd floor through an elevator after noticing the stairwell door that leads to the hallway was locked or secured. He says he then walked down the hall and discovered a metal bracket keeping the door shut. He contacted security and maintenance.

Campos says he then heard what sounded like a “very loud drill,” was shot in the left calf while walking away, heard what he described as automatic fire and contacted security dispatch.

*** end quote ***

Well, here’s an under-response by hotel “security”?

Wouldn’t this set off alarms to any reasonable person?

What else is concealed in this data dump?
