The D.C. police investigation of NBC hotshot David Gregory for waving around an empty ammo magazine on “Meet the Press” easily proves two things. First, D.C.’s “ammunition control” laws are ridiculous. But more importantly, once again, we find the arrogance of the national press knows no boundaries.

Let us stipulate that this kind of law is just plain stupid. Empty ammo magazines are less threatening than mosquitoes. The point is, however, that liberals like David Gregory do subscribe to this kind of idiotic law — for everyone else.

Was Gregory so ignorant that he didn’t know he was breaking a D.C. law? Nope. We learned NBC contacted the D.C. police and asked for permission to wave the props, and the cops said no. Then Gregory did it anyway. So not only did he believe he was above the law, he broke it so he could produce maximum buzz for his Sunday show.

Addie finds peace

Church bells! Church bells announced War’s end. Not heard in Vermont since the Blue Hat’s began their reign of terror.  Addie knew what she had to do. Donning her famous pink helmet with “warrior princess” above a scratched out “in training”,  she slung her “Uncle John”. That full size 12 gauge was heavy on her shoulder. She peddled her pink bike down hill from the farm almost effortlessly. The beautiful Green Mountain hills were a little greener today. The sky a little bluer. And the bells a little sweeter.

In what appeared to be the blink of an eye, she was at the Bennington Bridge. She looked around and a crowd had assembled. How had they known? She strode to the heated “Headsman’s Pike”, where the evil Blue Hats had “posted” the latest victim of their “justice”. She knelt before it and prayed for her Uncle, her Brother, her Comrades, and All that had died at this terrible place. She rose and saw that the crowd had knelt with her. She stepped off five long paces from the pole. The crowd receeded back like ocean. She unlimber Uncle John’s favorite gun. Waved the crowd back on the left and right. They moved slowly. She just waited. When it was safe, she fired at the pole. About head high. Took five but the pole shattered in the middle. The top fell to the river below. She walked to the stump, actioned out the remaining ammo, hung the gun on the stump, and topped it with her pink helmet.

It stayed that way forever. The helmet faded. The sling rotted. Some one nailed the rusty gun to the stump. But, it was said to be there for her return should ever Vermont need another heroine.

That was the end of the public appearances ever reported of Joan D’Arc.

Needless to say life didn’t end for Addie. Although to conceal her identity, she began to use the name Megan.

Life was good. The Farm prospered. Peace abounded. People returned to the normal ebb and flow of life. But the Third Vermont Republic, founded on the blood of patriots, developed a national identity, that prevented the disunity of any disagreement from becoming personal and nasty.

The fact that dueling was reintroduced helped quite a bit. Heinlein said it best: “An armed society is a polite society.”

From time to time, when in Bennington for errands and chores, Addie, now called Megan, would stop at her Uncle’s favorite tavern by that fateful bridge and have one of those disgusting beers he liked. His stool at the end of the bar was always empty with a glass, a pencil, and a pad of sticky notes as if he’d just stepped away. She sat on the stool next to his. It made her feel closer to him. That corner had pictures. One of te kneeling prisoners, arms bound behind them, surrounded by the hated Blue Hats. This minutes before the massacre. Someone had framed the New York Times story reporting that the “criminals were apprehended, given a fair trial, sentenced, and executed”. Below the story, scratched on the frame, scrawled roughly a title: “Lest We Forget”. Did anyone in Vermont ever read the New York Times after that?

She shed no tear. This was now a lesson of history. She could only pray it wasn’t forgot.

Can the government force people who are arrested – but not yet convicted of a crime – to give a DNA sample without a search warrant, or does that violate the Fourth Amendment?  One arrestee is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to consider this important question, and this week EFF urged the court to take the case.

A federal law mandates DNA collection for those who have been arrested for felonies. The FBI analyzes the samples, and puts a profile into CODIS, a national database.  Those who aren’t eventually convicted of a crime can get their information removed if they request to do so, but data from other individuals remains indefinitely.  In this case from the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. v. Mitchell, the defendant argues that the DNA collection violates his Fourth Amendment right against unreasonable searches and seizures.

Clearly, it”s more than just a tool for “identification”.

As pointed out, it gives your heritage, your health, your health prospects, and who knows what else.

And, “arrested”; not “convicted”.

Democrats defending Susan Rice makes sense, but we’re talking about the media here and a guy who claims to be a Republican. And the overall message is that they don’t care about the cover up. And they really don’t care that Rice was the tip of the spear of the cover up — the voice of the Administration that said in no uncertain terms that until the election’s over, we’re not going to have a discussion about a successful terror attack on Obama’s watch.

We knew then we were being lied to at the time, but after the testimony of David Petraeus last week, it’s not even arguable anymore. But the media has obviously decided that’s okay.

One of Scarborough’s defenses was, “This is what White House’s do.” He also said that no one called for Colin Powell to step down as Secretary of State after he gave incorrect testimony about WMDs during his tenure — which is a false equivalence.

Our intelligence community and their counterparts throughout the world believed Iraq had WMDs.

When Susan Rice did her talk show round robin with altered talking points, our intelligence infrastructure already known for three entire days that Libya had been a terror attack. For the sake of national security, Powell said what he and everyone else believed to be true. Rice said what she and everyone knew to be a lie, for the sake of Obama’s reelection.

Troopers say they tried unsuccessfully to get the driver’s attention using emergency lights and a spot light. Authorities say she was eventually stopped using a roadblock in Laflin, about 18 miles from where she started in Dickson City.

Taylor Swift, Walgreens, and me

A marketing whore?

That’s a little “hard”.

Is that like a man is assertive and a woman is bitchy?

You have to admire that her net worth reportedly jump about 165M$ in the last year. And, that’s what they know about. Her merchandise sales and tie ins fly under the radar.

She’s really the successor to Reba who succeeded Dolly.

The only question is can she sustain it.

The stuff that I read says that there are 2 year transitions early in the “star career” early between 14 and 21. Then they begin to lengthen until they finally become decades. Cites of successful transitions are Betty White, Liz Taylor, Jodi Foster, and Madona. Cites of unsuccessful are Jenna Elfman, Lindsey, Pink, Barbara Striesand, Jane Fonda, and on and on.

It’s a tough business and the public is fickle.

I’d cite Lady Kazan, who technically had a better voice than her contemporary Babs, but lost out. Judy Collins succeeded over Jody Mitchell but couldn’t make the transition form Folk music to the Beetles.

I feel bad for people with a gift who’s gift for whatever reason can not make the leap. “Starving artist” is a cliche.

At the very least, someone like these people must “make hay while the sunshines” because at any minute the music can stop and they are left without a chair.

I think the thing that I admire most about a Taylor Swift is that she “knew” what she wanted to do so early in life and had the huevos to go for it. She sounded “sad” when she said she wanted to go to college but made a decision to forego it to pursue her career. Her “stones” came out when she passed on the record deal from RCA. (Wonder who, if anyone, got fired for that?) And, she had the chutzpah to sign with a start up record label as their Number One artist.

Amazing.

Shows me the nerve of a cat burglar. The savvy of a NYC three card mote dealer. And the Noblise Oblige of some one who’s living their dream.

Argh!

Sometime beauty makes to weep for what you are not.

Would SOMEBODY please explain this to me?

Let me preface this by saying I don’t support the NRA. They do more harm to the pro-gun movement by collaborating on the creation of gun laws. I do not support public schools. I believe them to be liberal indoctrination stations, little more than state mandated jails for the young. It is the duty of parents to provide for the education of their children, not to simply surrender control of their children for 8 hours a day to union-backed imbeciles. I home school. I am not a christian. I am, in fact, an agnostic at most, an atheist more likely. I am the type of Libertarian the Libertarian Party hates. I am vehemently in favor of eliminating 99% of gun laws. So, now you know where I stand. I am NOT going to discuss gun ownership here. That is fodder for another article. Arguments over whether people should be permitted to own guns are off topic and will be deleted. Stick to the question asked, please. Feel free to answer the polls, and explain your answers in a comment. Now, to the question I need answered.

Would someone PLEASE explain to me why it is an evil thing to suggest we need armed guards in all public schools. Please note- I don’t necessarily mean POLICE guards. Just trained, armed guards. It can be teachers, janitors, volunteers, security guards from private security services, or even National Guardsmen doing their 2 weeks a year. We do not have a problem with armed guards in banks and armored cars. We don’t have a problem with armed guards at our courthouses and public buildings. We don’t have a problem with armed guards at our airports. But we DO have a problem with armed guards protecting our most valuable possessions~ Our children. I am an armed American. I have a CCW. I have training in the use of firearms, in proper concealed carry, and when NOT to use a weapon. I paid for it myself, because I feel it is necessary if I am going to carry. I got the training years ago, when I lived where it was not required to get a license to carry open, and easy as hell to get a CCW. Now, where I currently live, I needed nothing but a Hunter Safety card and references to get my CCW ( which is more than I think is permitted under the 2nd Amendment, but I digress). I carry quite often. Even though I homeschool, I would volunteer a day or two a week to stand guard over your children. I wonder why so many of you consider this somehow abhorrent. Our money, our court system, our government buildings, and our president are somehow more worthy of the expense of protecting than your children are.

Please tell me why!!!

In the intervening years a body of literature questioning the official conclusions of the Warren Commission, and the events themselves, led the vast majority of Americans to conclude that there was a conspiracy that went beyond Oswald, or in some cases one that framed Oswald and concealed the real killers. There was enough public pressure in that direction by the mid-1970s to convince Congress to create a Select Committee of the House to study the murders of both President Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Hobbled by political considerations and the loss of its original staff director, homicide prosecutor Richard Sprague, the HSCA failed to answer many questions about the forensic evidence and the guilt of the alleged assassins, but did end its probe in 1978, concluding that there had been a “probably conspiracy” which it instructed the Justice Department and FBI to investigate further. To date, those agencies have neither done an honest or thorough investigation of these murders, nor examined the evidence pointing to the role of J. Edgar Hoover, former FBI director in both the assassinations and the cover-up. The HSCA Chairman then ordered their extensive investigative files sealed from public view for 50 years, until 2028. President Johnson had also sealed the Warren Commission investigative files for 75 years in 1965, for potential release in 2035. Freedom of Information Act requests and legal suits succeeded in the getting several thousands of pages released from 1964-1994, but nowhere near the complete classified records on JFK alone.

Numerous top economists say that the bank bailouts are the largest robbery and redistribution of wealth in history.

Why was this illegal? Well, the top white collar fraud expert in the country says that the Bush and Obama administrations broke the law by failing to break up insolvent banks … instead of propping them up by bailing them out.

And the Special Inspector General of the Tarp bailout program said that the Treasury Secretary lied to Congress regarding some fundamental aspects of Tarp – like pretending that the banks were healthy, when they were totally insolvent. The Secretary also falsely told Congress that the bailouts would be used to dispose of toxic assets … but then used the money for something else entirely. Making false statements to a federal official is illegal, pursuant to 18 United States Code Section 1001.

So breaking the rules to bail out the big, insolvent banks, is destroying our prosperity.

The revolt begins. One person at a time realizing. BTW the “pledge” was invented by a guy who sold flags to schools and was a Nazi.

And, when you have time, think about what the “pledge” means.

Or, maybe the roles: “A citizen pledges alegience in exchange for protection”. Don’t know about you but I don’t feel very protected. I feel more like the English Saxon who needed a Robin Hood.

Maybe even the Dead Old White Guys, who objected to the King’s infringements. Substitute the Federal Government and the mob of drones that control it. The crony capitalism. And the increasing losses of freedom.

You really don’t think that the Civil War aka the War of Nothern Aggression was about slavery. You don’t get your history lessons from the movie LINCOLN — who was the absolute worst two-face President by far.

Then think about the fiscal cliff debate and how they feel that they can take HALF of what you earn without even some much as a “thank you”? Evne the Bible says 10% max to God.

I wonder what will bring the Clovers (a modern name for the Sheeple) to the streets.

Are you ready for the 5% tax increase on 1/1. And the Obamacare tax of 3.8% that kicks in. And the 1.2% increase in FICA. And, that doctors will be paid 17% less.

And, the Prez in in Hawaii enjoying a much need vacation.

Please.

I haven’t stood for the Pledge in a long time.

If they want to sing, I sing along with GOD BLESS AMERICA, or Woddie Guthrie’s THIS LAND IS YOU LAND, or any anti-war song.

Time for a change and it starts with you. I’ve already changed.

Heard about HRC having to spend NYD in the hospital. As much as I don’t like her politically, I wish her a speedy recovery. The talking heads were lamenting about her, in the hospital, on NYD, and how dreary. Brought me back to a NYD I spent in RWJ with Frau Reinke. When Frau regretted that I had to spend the day there with her, I commented: “Hey, it’s not bad. Any day, I spend with you is a good day where ever it is. Some day, I may look back and wish for a day like this.” She called me “silly”. That look back day is today. Then, by luck, here’s the tshirt that was next in the “rotation”. I still remember her laughing with Marge when the guy in the elevator of the Indian Casino got real close to read her chest. LOL!!!

POLITICAL: How much pork is in “Sandy” relief?

Dear Friend,

This is a critical week for New Jersey.

This week the United States Congress will vote on a Sandy Relief Package that will provide $60.4 billion to help New Jersey and other states recover and rebuild from the devastation of Superstorm Sandy.

While $60 billon is an incredible amount of money, numbers alone fail to paint the full picture of what we have seen throughout New Jersey. The full story lies in the faces of displaced people who find themselves homeless; their possessions and keepsakes gone. The full story lies with the small business owners who have had to shut their doors.

The preliminary damage estimate provided by Governor Christie is now up to $36.9 billion. So $60.4 billion in federal disaster relief funding to be spread across the region is a good start. But we must pass the Sandy Relief Package quickly, and in its entirety, so we can tell New Jerseyans that they are not alone; that all Americans are in this together. This vote says that we are ready as a nation to help families, businesses, and communities recover.

Yesterday, on the Senate floor, I once again made the case for New Jersey. I made the case for New Jersey families and small businesses still trying to recover; for homeowners in Little Ferry; shopkeepers in Moonachie; for every family who lost property and possessions all along the Jersey Shore and across the State; for our commuters who rely on public transportation to get to school and work; for those who lost power and went without fuel.

And, while some of my Republican colleagues may not be able to fathom the sheer scope of the damage, I explained that entire neighborhoods — where several generations of families lived in close-knit communities – are now gone; that thousands of decades-old small businesses are ruined. I pointed out that even though those scenes are no longer showing in living rooms across the country, it doesn’t mean that the recovery is over.

The need is clear for the passage of the entire Sandy Relief Package. A piecemeal recovery will be a stalled recovery and, in all likelihood, a failed recovery. And failure to recover and rebuild New Jersey’s infrastructure, economy, small businesses and communities is not an option.

This is one country: the United States of America. And when there was destruction along the entire Gulf Coast with Katrina, or a tornado in Joplin, Missouri, or crop destruction in the Midwest, we have come together as a nation to support these communities. The time is now for all members of Congress to stand with New Jersey, just as we have stood with them in times of crisis and natural disasters.

New Jersey has been battered, but we are not broken. We are stronger and more united in our efforts to work together to recover, rebuild, and recommit ourselves to uniting around our common concerns and shared values. That is the lesson we have learned, and together we will rebuild. The Garden State will bloom once again.

And I for one will not rest until the rebuilding is done.

Interesting, but true.

Does the Constitution limit the power of the Federal Government?

As old Lysander taught us: “It’s just GD peive of paper”. Oh no, that was one of the many “presidents”. Spooner pointed out how the Consititution is of “no effect”.

Now the American People can apply “market discipline” to the Brit. If he’s anathema to the American Public, (think Jane Fonda’s ability to take a lover at Vetran’s convention — not very likely if she was the last woman on Earth!), then maybe he’ll understand the role of being a guest in someone  else’s country. Didn’t the Brits forbid Michael Savage from goign to London to speak?

But we know the Constitution is powerless to reign the abuse of the Federal Gooferment, so maybe the abuse of this person’s First Amendment rights would be instructive.

Maybe the Sheeple would get the message?

Then they will ask what is the difference between one nut killing children in CT and the USA killing children aka “collateral damage” in AfPak?

Anyone wonder why we aren’t beloved?
