Markets are in an uproar today after the UK voted to leave the EU. But has anyone bothered to look at what happens next? I think a lot of people believe that a British separation from the EU is inevitable, even imminent but nothing could be further from the truth.

By my estimation, it’s going to take at least two and a half years for the UK to make it’s transition and that’s assuming there are no political shenanigans that come up. Considering that a mere 2% separated the winners from the losers, it would not be at all unlikely to see some MP’s step up to block the referendum from being implemented.

What you need to understand is that we are years away from any change coming to the trading relationship between the UK and EU, and a lot can happen between now and then.

From the EU discussion, we’ll move to guns where I’ll play some interesting comments from Charlie Rangel, who apparently believes he deserves to be protected by guns while you should be forced to fend for yourself.

Obviously, BREXIT, if not sabotaged by the effete elite, will take several years to unwind.

Hopefully, it will spur a bunch of mini —EXITs. 

I hope New Hampshire is one, but I think Texas needs to lead and be first. (Although, imho, North Dakota with the fracking oil and the only State Bank — the Bank of North Dakota — is the best prepared to EXIT since it doesn’t need the “services” of the Federal Reserve.)

Dear Mr. Reinke,

Thank you for reaching out to me with your views regarding Selective Service, more commonly known as the military draft.  Listening to my constituents is a fundamental part of my job as it helps me to best represent you and New Hampshire’s priorities in Congress.

The men and women who serve our country deserve our utmost respect and recognition, regardless of their gender.  Today, women are taking on more responsibilities in our Armed Forces than ever before, from assuming new combat roles to reaching new heights in military leadership.  I support recent reforms allowing women to serve in new military combat roles, because all Americans should share in the responsibility of protecting our freedom and preserving our way of life. 

As you may know, Selective Service was originally enacted in 1917 as a response to World War I.  It has existed in various forms since that time, with today’s version, enacted in 1980, requiring all males to register for potential military service in the case of an emergency.  An amendment to the FY 2017 National Defense Authorization Act(NDAA), approved during House Armed Services Committee markup, would also require women to register.  As your Representative, please know that I will keep your thoughtful views in mind if I have the opportunity to vote on legislation concerning the Selective Service.

Remember that TARP was originally passed as buying HOMEOWNER’S underwater mortgages and having them repay the Federal Gooferment in accordance with the original or relate terms. So, a United States the morning after, or a year after, or a decade after a successful effort to ban “assault weapons” will not be the scene of the “domestic disarmament” favored by prominent communitarian sociology professor Amitai Etzioni. It will be more like Prohibition-era America, but with hidden rifles substituting for stockpiled hooch and 3D printers standing in for moonshiners’ stills. And probably a bit more tense.

Those defiant gun owners will also be included in the jury pools chosen to sit in judgement of unlucky violators scooped up by law enforcement. That situation will likely replicate the difficulty prosecutors had in getting convictions of Prohibition scofflaws in the 1920s and marijuana law resisters today. “[I]f juries consistently nullify certain types of criminal charges (charges for possession of a small amount of marijuana, for example), this can render an unpopular law ineffective,” wrote John Richards at the LegalMatch blog after a jury couldn’t even be seated in Montana.

“If you pass laws that people have no respect for and they don’t follow them, then you have a real problem,” Connecticut Sen. Tony Guglielmo (R-District 35), told the Hartford Courant when large numbers of state residents flipped the bird to lawmakers and defied the new gun law.

TECHNOLOGY: Thinking about car technology?

The other day, we were stopped behind a fairly new truck and my passenger noted that their right rear brake light was out. Because she was with me, and the conditions were fortuitous, we were able to pull up alongside and tell the woman driver her light was out.

That got me to thinking.

(1) If it was just the woman alone, would I have talked to her. (Not very likely. I don’t like people.)

(2) How can one check one’s own break lights? (It’s not a one person job. Well maybe one person and large mirror hung on your back garage wall.)

(3) The current trend is automating the car (i.e., parks itself; stops itself; blind spots itself). What about the lights. (We need an idiot light for the lights?)

(4) I’m not sure I like the idea of the car stopping automagically. (I envision a bad guy stopping a woman alone on a dark road and the car won’t the bastard over!)

Guess I won’t be buying a new car soon. (But I do like my Prius’ adaptive cruise control; sweet!)

This July marks the 20th anniversary of the crash. Yet the media continue their virtual blackout, failing to ask questions as to whether this was a terrorist incident or a naval exercise gone wrong. Last year the anniversary of the flight’s demise was greeted, at most, with local media reports. It remains to be seen whether this year the mainstream media will take seriously the deaths of the 230 people on board that flight.

One has to ask some serious questions about the Gooferment version. Like why did they have to “cook the books” on the various witness statements?

If that is suspect, then there are only two logical explanations:

   (1) the Navy did it; OR

   (2) the terrorists did it.

I’d almost that the Navy did it by accident. At least, that would NOT have the implications that terrorists did it.

So, if it was terrorism, then why not repeat it?

Maybe they can’t. Maybe the Gooferment has taken steps to protect against it. Maybe they are just saving it as part of a larger plan.

Helicopter money is a phrase used to describe the idea in which the government prints large sums of money in order to stimulate the economy.

Critics of helicopter money believe that the policy may lead to high inflation while proponents of the idea, such as Former Fed Chair Ben Bernanke believe that it is a valuable tool when conventional monetary policies are ineffective and when government debt is high.

The “helicopter money” defies the “limited supply” characteristics.

The deliberate inflation of the money supply, that FED pursues as a policy, is violation of the trust that people place in the “money”. 

We can’t allow the Gooferment — with the aid and comfort of the FED, various bureaucrats, and the politicians — to “steal” from “We, The Sheeple”.  What little wealth that the poor and those on fixed incomes have gets silently “stolen” in the form of reduced purchasing power. The wages of workers buy less and less — I don’t see anyone getting “raises” to offset inflation. And, the rich elite can always protect themselves by buying stuff as opposed to holding “cash”.

One of the many unexplained (at least not officially) anomalies of the persons claimed to have carried out the Boston Marathon bombings is the presence of  key CIA figure in the direct family of the accused brothers.

Ruslan Tsarnaev, the outspoken uncle of the brothers was married to Samantha A. Fuller until 2004. Samantha’s father is Graham Fuller, the senior CIA person who was the architect the Afghan Islamic fundamentalist Mujahideen war against the Soviets. He is also involved in creating a global jihad network, presumably acting on behalf of CIA interests.

Ruslan Tsarnaev, who changed his name to Ruslan Tsarni, lives in a posh Washington DC suburb of Bethesda Maryland. He has worked in the past for companies tied to Dick Cheney’s Halliburton as well as a “consultant” in Kazakhstan with the State Department’s USAID which has been identified as a CIA front.

Take it all in The two brothers, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, accused though never proven in a court of law to have been responsible for the Boston Marathon bombings, had an uncle, the same uncle who agreed to bury the remains of the one dead brother. This uncle was married to the daughter of Graham Fuller, one of the most important CIA architects of using Islamic Jihadists/terrorists against the USSR during the Cold War and after, throughout Central Asia, including Chechnya and Kazakhstan.

It’s the unexplained connection to the CIA over and over that makes one think “false flag”.

The state militias, which have largely been subsumed into the National Guard system since the First World War, were once the centerpiece of American defense. For most of the history of the republic, the federal army was small and concerned with the defense of borders and with providing a solid professional core of soldiers in the event of a major conflict. The majority of soldiers in such a war would be composed of members of the state militias.

It’s a interesting perspective that caused me to realize that this “militia” power has been stolen by the Federal Government from the individual States.

I’ve often thought that the 17th Amendment — the direct election of Senators for those from Gooferment Skrules — allowed for the growth of the Federal Gooferment thru unfunded mandates unchecked by the various State legislatures. 

At least, that was done via an amendment. Unlike what was done with the state militias / national guard, “(pseudo) War on (some) Drugs”, and the many un-Constitutional “Departments” and “Agencies”.

I just created the petition “Barack Obama: No US Money or Arms to Foreign States with Death Penalty for Gays” and wanted to see if you could help by publishing this in The Libertarian Enterprise. The petition also goes to Rand Paul and Justin Amash.

GUNS: It takes time to reload

In the Orlando tragedy, the man who killed 49 and wounded 53 used a handgun and a rifle. The handgun accepted magazines containing 17 bullets, and the rifle accepted magazines containing 30 bullets. The killer, using both weapons, fired more than 250 times last Sunday morning. That means he reloaded his weapons about a dozen times. Each time he reloaded, he stopped shooting, as it is impossible for any person to shoot and reload simultaneously.

We know from forensics that the killer was a poor shot. We can deduce from that knowledge that he was a slow reloader. One learns to shoot first and reload later. It is likely that it took between three and seven seconds each time he reloaded the handgun and longer with the rifle. In those time periods, any trained person carrying a handgun in that Orlando nightclub could have wounded or killed him — and stopped the slaughter.

In all the angst and turmoil over all these “mass shootings”, the shooter has to reload. And, that takes time.

Even unarmed, the victims need to be courageous and take action.

Of course, it’s easier if armed. Even if that “arm” is just a swiss army knife, that MAY be enough to turn the tide of the battle. Even win the “war”. A knife to the neck can distract anyone.

Even though I’m not the example of the “trained shooter”, I can hit the center ring at 50 yards reliably. And, if I use the whole magazine, then I’m positively sure I can put one of them in the center ring. I hope that I can do as well “under fire”. If the killer is such a poor shooter, then it’s obvious he has practiced as much as the “average enthusiast”.

As the Judge points out that “gun free zones” ensures that it won’t be “free of guns”. Just guns in the possession of lawbreakers.

It’s a struggle to talk about an event like the Orlando massacre. I mean, it would be easy if I just followed one pre-approved philosophical line. I could blame radical Islam, and certainly there is plenty of room for that. I could blame guns since it’s such an easy target. What you can’t do though is suggest our own actions may have been a contributing factor to the events this weekend.

Jason made some great points:

  • Guns are not the issue. Although the talking heads have demonstrated that they know nothing about firearms (e.g., “gunshot loophole”; 700 rounds per minutes; “assault weapon”).
     
  • It was a gun free zone!
  • It’s not about gay rights. 
  • The police waited 4 hours to assault the nightclub. It’s a miracle that even more people didn’t die when you gave the bad guy all that time.
     
  • The guy was an American citizen who was investigated twice. His coworkers at the SECURITY firm say he was radicalized. So what are the background checks checking?
     
  • The US foreign policy is provoking the angry response. 

We need to have a serious conversation about the intrusive Gooferment interference in our everyday lives.

The North Carolina Supreme Court recently issued an important unanimous decision blocking what would have been a major uncompensated expropriation of property rights by the state.

The decision has implications that go beyond the Map Act and the taking of property for road-building. Had the ruling gone the other way, it might well have opened the door to uncompensated takings in various other situations, as well. There are many situations where the state might want to lower the value of property by indefinitely banning development, so it can then take the property at a later date in order to use it for a public project, or even to transfer it to influential private interests under the guise of promoting “economic development” or alleviating blight. Such takings were ruled to be permissible “public uses” by the Supreme Court in the controversial Kelo case in 2005, and are still permitted in all too many states even in the aftermath of the massive political backlash against Kelo.

Unfortunately, Kelo was a disaster. 

We strayed far from the Constitutional meaning of “taking”.

“We, The Sheeple” need to push the politicians and bureaucrats harder for more legal protections. Every “taking” must be vigorously opposed.
