RANT: The true root of the USA’s problem — faith-based money; no gold

Thursday, December 29, 2011

http://www.keywestlou.com/

Saturday, December 17, 2011

*** begin quote ***

The point I was making was that the two biggest ripoff generators in recent years affecting the American public were involved. Oil producers and a bank. The royal family requiring $3 million pocket money for a London vacation. A bank with so much extra money that it invests $7.4 million in a rare gold coin.

Something is wrong with the system! The rich get richer. Poor poorer. The incidents reported sort of like spitting in some one’s face.

*** end quote ***

Amusing about the “oil”? Every President — D and R — since I can remember from Nixon on has promised to make the USA energy independent. Which logically would imply that OPEC would get less of our money. But, demonstrating that politicians and bureaucrats would rather talk than do, the USA, despite having a “department of energy”, ain’t independent.

With respect to gold — I believe that the “little people” have been screwed royally by FDR’s gold seizure (i.e., gold was removed from the money supply). This allowed the banking cartel, the “Federal” Reserve System, to inflate the money supply and destroy the value. It allowed Presidents, politicians, and bureaucrats to spend without concern. Guns and butter. Warfare / Welfare state. Without the check of having to get money from the taxpayers. And, we all fell for the ruse. Ron Paul in one of the debates had a killer line that went like “three silver dimes bought a gallon of gas in the late Sixties, today those same three dimes will buy more than a gallon. It’s not that gas has become more expensive, but the money is worth less.” Absolutely true! I remember buying gas at 25¢ a gallon while getting a free glass, trading stamps, and my windshield cleaned. Argh!

My point is that the poor, the working stiff, the pensioner are screwed by inflation.

(And, when they don’t like the numbers, the bureaucrats exclude energy, food, or whatever other inconvenient component they feel like. Pat us on the head and tell us “move along. nothing to see here.”)

Occupy had many flaws, but I think what they could NOT express cogently was “we’ze gettin’ screwed”. They were just “occupying” the wrong place. Wall Street as a symbol for crony capitalism wasn’t the root. It was the politicians of both parties that are the problem.

And the TRUE ROOT of the problem is faith-based fiat money. From time immemorial, the little guy has been <synonym for the past tense of the procreation act.> by the “King” debasing the monetary unit.

(Go to the Smithsonian and see the French Franc over decades. From the gold hockey puck of Louis 1 to the paper thin collar button of Louis 17. That’s a visual problem statement. Cant do it with a paper dollar, but we know that between 1970 and 2010, it lost 98% of its purchasing power. That’s why there’s no penny candy any more.)

“We, The Sheeple” are SOOOOO dumb!

So Tim Bishop looks out for Tim Bishop first, Nancy Pelosi second, and if he can help his constitutents cut through some bureaucratic red tape, cut through it but not eliminiate it, he will do so. But he needs something, anything, to take the voters eyes off his dismal record in Congress, so let’s try another new twist on outsourcing, whether it is germane to his constituents or not. After all, where else is Tim Bishop going to land a job that pays $174,000 a year with his resume?

The last line is a great point.

How would any of these people “land a job that pays $174,000 a year with” that “resume”.

Let’s insist that the candidates produce a resume.

What are they going to put on it?

Legislator: “It was the other party that wouldn’t cooperate.”

RANT: A conversation about Roe versus Wade

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

Roe versus Wade was NOT a national conversation. It was court decision and a bad one at that. imho. On par, with Dred Scott.

The process of amendment would allow a conversation about the philosophy of life and intrusion of the Gooferment into our lives. Ron Paul is for the Gooferment to get out of the mandating business and let the States form their own policies.

I’m convinced that a future ethical society will look back at us as as backward as the bloodletting surgeons and as evil as the Nazis.

Bear in mind as a little L libertarian I don’t want force applied to anyone that hasn’t initiated it. The very personal decision of a woman to bear children should not be the subject of idle chit chat by old men in funny dresses. Nor should it be the way that a company, “Planned Parenthood” makes grazillions of dollars luring children into the “sex trade”. That’s what it is virtually.

Parents should raise children and politicians should raise pets.

Argh!

What we have here is immoral! Not that I want to tell folks what to do. But I certainly don’t want to pay for killing our future. Which is what is done now. We may have killed the next Hawking, the girl who cures cancer, or the boy who’s the next Gandhi.

Ever play the game “Adventure”? If you kill the bird in the first few minutes of the game, you’ll never get past the snake. We’re killing the future,
And, we may have already “aborted” the answer to our soclal security problem. A growing vibrant population.

A Constitutional Amendment was the Dead Old White Guys’ way to make the big decisions about how we run the country. NOT nine old guys is funny costumes.

Scott Reinke, father of Army Staff Sgt. Gavin Reinke, who was killed in Iraq in May 2006.

Reinke is proud of his son’s service to his country and is certain nearly all U.S. service men and women who took part in the Iraq war share that same pride. But that’s not the same thing as believing the war was worth the cost.

“I was reading a story in the paper this morning where this Iraqi was saying that Americans didn’t leave new schools and factories, that we left a nation of widows and orphans,” Reinke said and then softly cursed. “After all we put into that country. If that guy’s sentiments represents a majority of the Iraqi people, then what we’re getting out of that war isn’t worth all that we put into it.”

Reinke recounted how President George W. Bush urged American intervention in Iraq in 2003 on the basis that dictator Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. None was found.

“Granted, Hussein was an evil man. But it’s hard for me to justify our sticking our nose in that country’s business. The Middle East has always been in turmoil. Maybe if I felt that the Iraqi people were truly grateful.”

Reinke said he recently ate lunch next to an Army engineer who talked about all the friends he’d lost in Iraq.

“This soldier talked about how his guys would be building a school or working on some infrastructure project and the Iraqis hated Americans so much, they’d just attack them anyway,” Reinke said. ” I don’t think anyone who lost a child, or a husband, or a wife, or had someone severely wounded over there will tell you that it was worth it. Now I wish we’d do the same in Afghanistan.”

It’s one thing if the girls and boys are down at the beach or the border to resist an invasion, but that hasn’t happened since 1812?

Not one drop of blood, nor a penny of treasure, is worth sticking our <plural synonym for donkey> in another country’s business.

Ron Paul is the ONLY “peace” candidate. And, he’s not an isolationist; nor, stupid about defending America. He’s just serious about it.

Louise, 38, and her 40-year-old husband Shane are about to spend their eighth Christmas away from their family back in Co. Donegal.

“Another Christmas away is just terrible,” Louise, a bartender, shared with the Irish Voice over the weekend.

“It’s getting harder all the time. Our parents are getting old and we’re missing so many special events like another Christmas, not to mention several weddings and christenings.”

Her husband Shane agrees, but says being realistic they can’t move home at the moment because “there is no work” in Ireland.

Well, overlooking the media bias —

— “trapped”, I don’t think so. They can return for free courtesy of the US taxpayer. “undocumented”, I’m sure they do have “documents”. Just not the right kind. Argh! —

There should be no bar to crossing a border unless you’re a criminal, (then we’d expect some proof that you’ve turned a page), or planning to go on welfare. Bought the only reasonable restriction might be posting a bond equal to the passage “home”.

I don’t understand.

Doesn’t anyone read the Statue of Liberty? Or, did we put a garbage bag over that?

Sure, no welfare for immigrants. But then we shouldn’t have “welfare” for anyone.

Jordan Fulcoly, Wayne Drexel and brothers Tyler and Connor Carroll of Riverhead High School were all handed a one-day suspension Wednesday, after three days of taking a knee with their foreheads resting on their fists, the same way Tebow does in the end zone and on the sidelines. The news was first reported by Yahoo! Prep Rally earlier Thursday.

Riverhead superintendent Nancy Carney said that two of the students’ suspensions were later rescinded, citing that administrators found that those students were not given the same warnings that the other two were.

Tebow has made headlines for the move, a display of his devotion to his Christian faith. The students were not suspended for bringing religion into the school, but instead for clogging the hallway.

An outbreak of irresistible silliness left a presiding judge, the local police officers, attorneys and even the defendant himself in tears of laughter at the Dingle District Court in County Kerry at the weekend.

According to The Kerryman the unexpected outbreak of hilarity began as they listened to a completely unlikely series of events that led to three road traffic charges being brought against a man.

Dingle street entertainer Deaglan O’Muiris had originally been stopped by Irish police officer Frank Scanlon, who described to the country court the scene when he pulled the busker over for driving with four bald tires.

*** and ***

Mann added that after being stopped by police officer Scanlon, O’Muiris had immediately paid $470.00 for four new tires for the van.

Police officer Scanlon acknowledged that the tires had been satisfactorily replaced and informed the judge the donkey has also been retired for the winter season.

The defendant was then given until May of 2012 to pay $400.00 to the court poor box to avoid a conviction for the bald tire offenses.

Argh!

So why does the poor Mundane have to pay another 400$?

If he had caused an accident due to bald tires, then he’d have had to make restitution.

BUT, under the “no victim = no crime”, why was this fellow accosted and robbed by a “highwayman”?

Over-the-counter cocktail beats hair of the dog

A new FDA-approved hangover cure has hit the market just in time for holiday party season.

“So many people see hangovers as a shameful or embarrassing thing. I think of them as just a fact of life,” said Brenna Haysom, the creator of Blowfish through the West Village-based Rally Labs LLC.

The over-the-counter drug cocktail combines 1,000 milligrams of aspirin, 120 milligrams of caffeine and a stomach-soothing agent into two effervescent tablets taken the morning after a night of heavy drinking.

*** end quote ***

As anyone who reads this blog, I’d like to replace the FDA with “Consumers’ Reports” type private organizations.

We need to have a gradual way of escaping the regulatory tyranny of an agency that has been captured by those it regulates (i.e., an incestuous relationship between the “regulators”, those “regulated”, and the politicians).

Perhaps a good first step is making FDA approval optional?

If it’s not FDA “approved”, then your right to sue or collect damages is limited in some fashion.

It’d be a start?

RANT: Lautenberg parrots the D talking points

Monday, December 5, 2011

*** begin quote ***

Dear Mr. John:

Thank you for contacting me about taxes. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.

On August 2, the “Budget Control Act of 2011” (P.L. 112-25) was signed into law. This law allows the debt limit to be increased by up to $2.1 trillion. In conjunction with this increase, deficits must be decreased by at least $2.1 trillion over 10 years. This law generates $0.9 trillion in initial deficit reduction over 10 years through spending cuts rather than tax increases. At least $1.2 trillion in additional deficit reduction will be identified by the newly-established Congressional Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction. This bipartisan committee is charged with presenting a deficit reduction plan by late November, which must receive an up or down vote in both chambers of Congress by the end of the year. If the committee fails to produce a plan, or if the committee’s plan fails to attract the support of a majority of the House and Senate, additional spending cuts of $1.2 trillion over 10 years will automatically occur.

Please be assured that I will be closely monitoring the recommendations of the Joint Committee and I will keep your concerns in mind as this issue receives further consideration by the Senate. Thank you again for contacting me.

Imagine what goes on in their little brains when it dawn on them, that the two people their whole life depends on, will look them right in the eye, smile, and lie like a used car salesman. Bad! If they can’t depend on getting the truth from Mom and Dad, who then? (Uncle Ferd!) And, then folks wonder why children turn into teenagers that don’t listen, or respect their parents. Now, you don’t have to tell them everything you know (e.g., sex, income tax rates, how a motor works, how much work stinks, worries). But you don’t have to correct their assumptions, erroneous memes, and | or incorrect paradigms. Just do NOT lie!

Thirty years after Natalie Wood died off Santa Catalina Island, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced Thursday that it was reopening the investigation into one of Hollywood’s most enduring mysteries.

Wood, 43, was boating off the island on Thanksgiving weekend 1981 with her husband, Robert Wagner, fellow actor Christopher Walken and others when she somehow went overboard and died. Officials at the time ruled her death an accident, but there has been much speculation since over whether there was more to the story.

Sheriff Lee Baca said detectives want to talk to the captain of the boat after learning of comments he recently made about what happened on board. Baca did not provide further details, adding only that the captain “made comments worthy of exploring.”

Report: Taxpayers’ Entire TARP ‘Investment’ Lost in Bailout of United Commercial Bank

by Laura Rambeau Lee

*** begin quote ***

The Quarterly Report issued in October 2011 by the Special Inspector General of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) reveals the utter lack of oversight and mismanagement of funds in excess of $700 Billion Dollars.

*** and ***

The housing and mortgage crisis was a direct result of the increasing deregulation of the mortgage industry enabled by the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 and the federal government’s ideological philosophy that everyone should and must be afforded their dream of home ownership, regardless of their credit worthiness or their ability to repay the mortgage. The federal government, through coercive threats of lawsuits for discriminatory lending practices, forced these lenders to make these risky loans.

*** and ***

The programs offered by the administration have not produced any positive results for the people of this country. The SIGTARP report clearly reveals the arrogance of the Treasury Department in refusing to heed its recommendations to help struggling homeowners. It is Big Government that created this problem. It is time We the People got our bail out.

*** end quote ***

No, “We, The Sheeple” should cut out losses.

Along the way, the State authorities should investigate fraud and prosecute.

We should return to a “simpler” time of life — along with “too big to fail” is “too big to exist” — and pass a Constitutional amendment to prevent bailouts, subsidies, and other corrupt practices.

The sad thing was that “tarp” was supposed to buy toxic assets and was perverted silently without discussion into bailouts.

Why are we still funding Fannie and Freddie?

Why are we still allowing this to go on?

The TSA has the guns and they have what is called “law”. How does one resist? Peacefully, that comes first. I really do not know, and I don’t know what will do good and what won’t. And I don’t know what will cause you more trouble than you want to bear. I also think that resistance is a personal matter that depends on your personal circumstances, so that there is no one way to resist.

Hit them in the pocketbook. I refuse to take air travel. And, I irritate anyone I know who does do air travel with questions like: “how did you enjoy your proctology exam”, “how much of your time did security waste”, and “you got to the airport how much in advance”. In my blog, I try to find TSA stories to report that are funny or outrageous. I may not be able to change the world, but I am trying to give it a health shove.

Is this true?

If so, terrible. If not, good.

The UK Daily Mail is usually reliable.

It has also been confirmed that Sandusky collects $59,000 annual pension and withdrew $148,000 upon retirement from his job at Penn State, according to records obtained by the Associated Press.

One would assume that this transfer would be found “fraudulent” since it was OBVIOUSLY intended to save it from a civil judgement.

Cop seeks sweet disability after accidental shooting

As he was preparing to shoot, a burst of wind tore a Q-shaped target from its wooden post. Onesti picked up a staple gun and tried to reattach the target — and what happened next could end up costing state taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Onesti, 27 at the time, accidentally fired a staple into the base of his left ring finger, records show. He put a Band Aid on the wound and successfully completed the tests. But after two operations Onesti says he still can’t do his job, and is now one of a record number of public employees across the state seeking an accidental disability pension for life.
