The other day I was watching the end of the “Price Is Right” — yeah I know “vast wasteland” blah, blah, blah — and I forged myself a “moral lesson” out of it.  The one contestant won both showcases with a bid that was only off by 150$.  It’s a rare event when that happens.  And I immediately thought … … …

 

… … … if it was me, I’d have given the “loser” her showcase.

 

Maybe I’m naïve, but what a lesson in … … something … … “good karma”?

 

After all what does one need with TWO cars when you can spread such joy?

 

Guess I’m just naïve.

Furthermore, Facebook is using this misinformation to suppress the genuine facts of this issue instead of honoring its policy to “Stop Misinformation and False News.” Compounding this malfeasance, a note at the bottom of Cox’s article states that USA Today’s “fact check work is supported in part by a grant from Facebook.”

Back in the old BBS’ days, websites were immune to suits as long as they didn’t exercise “editorial control” over the content. 

Like the phone companies weren’t responsible for the conversations they carried, so to Facebook SHOULD be held accountable BECAUSE they are exercising “editorial control’1

He even handed the ARRB a copy of his official report to the military that he wrote at the time of the event. That military had never disclosed that report to the Warren Commission, the House Select Committee on Assassinations, the ARRB, or anyone else. They kept it secret the whole time. Why?

The Kennedy assassination was the first “Conspiracy Theories” that I remember.  As a engineering student with only a little understanding about why my uncles immediately didn’t believe the official story.

Now, decades later, I agree with them.

While we never may know “truth”, it’s still important to keep asking questions.

Those questions are critical to understanding that we are being pulled by the “shadow Gooferment”!

By that metric, it will be very revealing if one of Joe Biden’s first actions as president will be to forgive student debt.That’s an idea swirling around Democratic circles — particularly among the progressive base. The base turned out for Biden, and now they want their pay-off — literally so, in the case of massive debt forgiveness.

Last week, a coalition of 236 progressive groups led by teachers unions called on Biden to cancel student debt on his first days in office. Biden himself has already urged Congress to cancel $10,000 as part of a pandemic relief package.

This is just immoral and wrong on so many levels.

How about all the people who have sacrificed to pay off their debt?

How about all the people who didn’t go to college because they didn’t want to be debt slaves?

Note since the USA is “broke” and the only way to do this is to print more money and incur more debt!  That means inflation!  And even if taxes are raised, everyone pays the “tax of inflation”!

Sorry but this us a further evidence about how out of touch politicians and bureaucrats are.  And that Gooferment is immoral, ineffective, and inefficient. As well as untrustworthy.

There are other concerns about how the software can be utilized. The attorney stated software and election officials have the ability to do things like delete ballots, force the machine not to read voters’ signatures or the down ballot. Powell said there’s also the ability for the machine to be programed to only count votes for Biden.

Finally, and most importantly, why doesn’t anyone in journalism care? I get that they’ll never embrace the idea that the election was stolen, but why not investigate in order to discredit the idea? If they’re so sure fraud played no role, expose it and bestow on Joe Biden a legitimacy he otherwise won’t have. It’d be a lot more effective than simply being angry about it and attacking anyone who asks questions, wouldn’t it?

That the left isn’t at all interested in rooting out voter fraud, even if there wasn’t enough of it to impact the results, is telling. Democrats benefit from it. There is no “Republican machine” manufacturing votes in deep red areas, but the dead voting in Chicago has been a joke since long before I was born. Why is that accepted anywhere?

TECHNOLOGY: Dropping Google and returning to the “less evil” empire of Apple

Ok, I admit that my attempt to move from Apple to Google was a complete and utter failure.

Google:

  • By killing Google Cloud Print, it made my printer “obsolete” with no alternative. (Was the final straw!)
  • Google docs and sheets are no where near as good as Microsoft Office.
  • Google’s “end of life”-ing chromebooks is inexplicable.
  • Google’s 4a offering was “unsubscribable”. (A tech giant should be able to do that!)
  • Google has no support comparable to Apple’s.
  • Google Fi’s beem a disappointment compared to Altice Mobile.

Apple

  • Has a remarkable consistency in their infrastructure.
  • While killing iTunes Apple Music, iWeb, and a parade of obsolescence, it has been as disruptive as Google’s “end of life”-ing chromebooks.

I’ll continue to watch the field, but it’s no sense wasting anymore time.

I’ll still recomend chromebooks with the caveats about printing and “end of life”-ing.

Argh!

POLITICAL: New Judicial Watch Study Finds 353 U.S. Counties in 29 States with Voter Registration Rates Exceeding 100% | Judicial Watch

Judicial Watch announced today that a September 2020 study revealed that 353 U.S. counties had 1.8 million more registered voters than eligible voting-age citizens. In other words, the registration rates of those counties exceeded 100% of eligible voters. The study found eight states showing state-wide registration rates exceeding 100%: Alaska, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
