Becky Hammon is an American who plays for the WNBA’s San Antonio Silver Stars. She’s also going to play in the Olympics in Beijing — but not for Team USA.

Instead, Hammon will play for Russia’s Olympic basketball team. Hammon has no Russian ancestry, but she has played professionally in Russia, and she became a Russian citizen to aid her basketball career. In the eyes of the International Olympic Committee, that’s good enough for her to play for Russia.

That doesn’t sit well with some in this country. During a CNN interview, Team USA women’s basketball coach Anne Donovan referred to Hammon as a “traitor.” Similar sentiments were expressed today on ESPN’s Outside the Lines.

It’s not like the Olympics means anything.

Except maybe to keep the illusion of ‘country’ going.

TINFOILHAT: Was Patton “shut up” by the OSS?

In December 1945, General Patton sustained life threatening injuries in a car crash near Mannheim, Germany. He died at the hospital in Heidelberg 12 days later on December 21. General Patton was 60 years-old. General Patton is buried in the American Military Cemetery of Hamm in Luxembourg, alongside the other soldiers of the 3rd Army in accordance with his desire “to be buried with his men”.

Considered one of the most successful Combat Generals in US history, George Patton was the first officer assigned to the Tank Corps in WWI. During WWII, he commanded the US Seventh Army in the Mediterranean Theater and the US Third Army in France and Germany after the Allied invasion of Normandy in June 1944. Lest We Forget.

No doubt he was anti-Russian and wanted to continue on from Berlin to Moscow.

I bet it’s less than a week.  Imagine gas stations with no gas or food stores with no deliveries.

And, I would want to be a driver that crossed their picket line. 

Last time I remember anything this big was when the movie Convoy made a laughing stock of all the police that hassled truckers with lame tickets.

Perhaps one reason for “our” “success” in WW1 and WW2 was the marksmanship of the average civilian.

Today, there would be no such advantage.

Today’s gang bangers are lucky they don’t shoot themselves.  Everything they know about guns comes from TV and movies.

Now, Amazon workers argue that employees need phones to access alerts about tornadoes and other emergencies — and some are threatening to quit if the company goes back to its strict no-phone policy.

“I’m not working without my phone,” one user wrote on a Reddit forum for Amazon workers. “I’m not going to quit, I’m going to either work with my phone or make them fire me for that reason.”

“If people who survived can prove that they got warnings via phone before managers told them to shelter in place, and that their phones saved lives, I’d say that’s a pretty good argument for keeping them,” another said.

“They’ll ban phones again,” a third predicted. “They don’t give a s—t about the workers.”

HARDWARE: iX1500 is neat recommended product based on the added support for external cloud services

I have had the scanner for awhile.  While good, the cloud implementation to Fujitsu cloud was lame and timed out quickly.

After a complete reinstall after something melted down software-wise, I needed their tech support to walk me through the the process. 

Updated to all the latest “stuff”, I found that the device now supports external cloud services like dropbox, Evernote, etc etc!

So now a scan to the cloud goes right into the appropriate cloud vendor.

This displaces ADOBE’s scan on the iPhone, that wants a monthly subscription.

So all in all a good “update”.
