Around San Diego County, a hot, salty, buttered controversy has popped up. Should hardware stores offer free bags of freshly-popped popcorn? While that may look like a warm, welcoming treat, free popcorn is a threat to public health — or so argue county officials.

The tyranny of the “individual complaint”?   How can residents of the Pepuls Republik of Kaliforkneeah ever survive without the benevolent over watching everything police state?   Guess that ecoli outbreak of romaine lettuce didn’t happen?  Argh!  What’s next regulation of kid’s lemonade stands?  Oh yeah, the “health police” already do that.  Argh!
