President Richard Nixon used the IRS to target political enemies. The Nixon administration also threatened television and radio companies with revocation of their broadcast licenses unless they provided favorable coverage of the administration.

During the Clinton administration, the IRS not only targeted conservative and libertarian organizations it audited Paula Jones after she sued President Clinton for sexual harassment.

During the George W. Bush years, the IRS targeted organizations critical of the Iraq War.

When Barack Obama assumed the presidency, the tax agency turned its attention back to conservative and libertarian groups, with a focus on organizations associated with the Tea Party.

Seems like a good start.
Many if the abuses of power all originate from the Federal Gooferment “regulating” “We, The Sheeple”. Since we are supposed to be a Federal Republic, the Federal Gooferment should only interact with the various State Gooferments that created it. Leave “We, The People” alone.

Avoid bragging
Putting the altruistic idea of peer-to-peer cash aside, Bitcoin has been a great asset to own over the last few years when it comes to return on investment. Many have purchased their coins at significantly lower prices than we see today, and some may even consider themselves rich now – and that’s great!
However, this high financial success can also result in a need to share the story with family members, friends or even strangers. First and foremost, you should be aware of when this “desire to brag” comes up and stay on top of it. It may be perfectly fine to share the fact that you own bitcoin with a close friend, but it may be out-of-line to share how much bitcoin you own with a stranger in a café, where even more strangers might be listening in. Of course, this entirely depends on your personal situation and how you value your privacy at any given moment.
In any case, bragging about your wealth is rarely a good idea, especially in front of strangers. The main reason for this is how difficult it can be to accurately predict what the other person is gonna do with the information that, for example, you “own six figures in bitcoin”. They may forget it five minutes later, but they might also start to envy you, develop negative feelings – or in the worst case, come up with a plan on how to get a slice of the pie!
Even if you do want to tease your friends and family a bit with your “Bitcoin gains”, it’s probably better to do so in a private environment and without revealing too many specifics. This is not to say you shouldn’t trust anyone at all, but to be more aware of who you entrust with what information.

No one needs to know about your bitcoin holdings except the executor of your estate.
One of the more interesting USE CASEs of ₿ is the ability to transfer assets without the Gooferment involvement. And, this is important even if you’re NOT in a Third World Country. Here in the USA, the IRS wants you to report all capital gains. Even in ₿! They have coerced the various Crypto Exchanges to cooperate by rating you out to the IRS under KYC rules.
Remember not your keys; not your coins.

Recently I read someone complain that calling Washington DC a swamp it really unfair to swamps everywhere. A better adjective would be a sewer. Like the old joke about calling politicians “morons” was unfair to real “morons”.
That being said, Vivek Ramaswamy has at least begun to address the list of Federal Gooferment agencies that he would shutdown. Desantis has four.
Us little L libertarians, have an inexhaustible list: Federal Reserve, FBI, AFT, DHS, IRS, HHS, D of Education, D of Energy, Agriculture, … … and on and on and on.

Even Sen. Bernie Sanders would probably try again and why not Hillary, too?
It all sounds far-fetched — until you imagine a Trump-Biden rematch, with Biden hobbled by a terrible first term and both candidates accused of crimes.
If Democrats stick with Biden under those circumstances, they’ll be inviting the second coming of Trump.

Sounds like we need to put a mandatory retirement age along with term limits amount some of the other changes need to cut the Gooferment down in size and intrusiveness.
At the very least repealing the Seventeenth Amendment would put the State Legislatures back in charge of Senators and eliminate “carpet bagging” individuals from buying seats to the big graft bonanza.
A mandatory retirement age tied to the Social Security “full benefit” retirement age might be a nice touch.
Then kill many if not all of the TLAs (i.e., three letter agencies). If we do need a small Department of Agriculture to help the States coordinate, then they should reside in the State they are coordinating for but I bet the States could figure out how to do it faster, cheaper, and easier.

- Corporate America has joined this cultural revolution hysteria.

- Catholics and Christians had objected to the invitation — never dare extend its street-theater blasphemy to other religious groups such as Muslims or Hindus.
- Anheuser-Busch has nearly destroyed its best-selling Bud Light brand
- Disney has rebranded it films, amusement parks, and television offerings to reflect radical transgender, gay, and race advocacies.

This isn’t just out of nowhere. After all, Taibbi released the Twitter Files and testified about the findings to the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.
The agents just happened to visit Taibbi’s house on the day he testified.

Prison inmates made out like bandits during the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to internal data provided by the IRS, more than 1.1 million incarcerated inmates received stimulus checks, totaling over $1.3 billion dollars.
In a letter obtained by the Washington Examiner, Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) said of the million incarcerated inmates, 163,000 of them were serving life sentences.
“It’s outrageous that those who inflicted pain on a family or community by committing a crime received a single dime from the government during the pandemic. If anything, the funds should have gone to the victims who would have been better served,” Bacon said.
As the country is facing dwelling inflation, the government doled out a massive amount of paychecks to people as the Biden administration refused to allow hard-working Americans make money of their own.

This ranks right up there with them sending stimulus checks to Norwegians who have never left Norway!
Another example of why the Gooferment is immoral, ineffective, and inefficient. As well as untrustworthy.

A lot of leaders in the tax protest movement have done jail time for their consistency. They did what they told others to do. They are now convicted felons with no money.
Some are still in jail. Irwin Schiff is one of them. He may get out in two years. He has been in jail since 2006. Are you ready to imitate him? Read this first.
Trusting laymen in the tax revolt movement are often unaware of just how consistently the IRS has gained convictions.
There are always exceptions, but the pattern is clear: juries normally convict. These protesters use arcane language and references to tax law cases that do not apply. It does them no good. These people jabber in jailhouse lawyer babble, and then they wind up in jail. They really do become jailhouse lawyers.

I prefer to not engage in Phyrric Victories, Don Quixote quests, or fights that I can’t win.
Income taxes are like that category.
As a little L libertarian, I think that the Gooferment is immoral, ineffective, and inefficient. Taxes are theft.
BUT, (and there is always a BIG butt), until juries refuse to enforce the Income Tax diktats, I’ll kowtow.
Like the “(pseudo) War on (some) Drugs”, tyranny will end when the Sheeple and Clovers no longer convict.
That why I never get on juries. I want to see a victim. The Gooferment, its politicians and bureaucrats, are NOT victims. They are the aggressors.

The income tax is absolutely crazy if one takes a moment to think about it. We’ve become so conditioned to accept it that we don’t even realize how ridiculous it is. The government taxes one for being productive, for creating income for one’s family, for doing one’s part to grow the economy. It doesn’t make any sense.

Judicial Watch announced the following developments in our IRS missing emails investigation. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton stated:
Department of Justice attorneys for the Internal Revenue Service told Judicial Watch on Friday that Lois Lerner’s emails, indeed all government computer records, are backed up by the federal government in case of a government-wide catastrophe. The Obama administration attorneys said that this back-up system would be too onerous to search. The DOJ attorneys also acknowledged that the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) is investigating this back-up system
We obviously disagree that disclosing the emails as required would be onerous, and plan to raise this new development with Judge Sullivan.
This is a jaw-dropping revelation. The Obama administration had been lying to the American people about Lois Lerner’s missing emails. There are no “missing” Lois Lerner emails – nor missing emails of any of the other top IRS or other government officials whose emails seem to be disappearing at increasingly alarming rate. All the focus on missing hard drives has been a diversion. The Obama administration has known all along where the email records could be – but dishonestly withheld this information. You can bet we are going to ask the court for immediate assistance in cutting through this massive obstruction of justice.
Here is the second set of sworn declarations by IRS officials in response to Judge Emmet G. Sullivan’s investigation into the missing emails of Lois Lerner and other IRS officials. The declarations were provided after close of business on Friday, August 22.

Personally, I am going to review all the testimony in front of Congress and statements to the media. Any lawyer involved will generate a letter to the appropriate Bar Association asking for disbarment proceedings to start. It was done to Clinton and it should be done to another liar!

A professional IT trade group with significant expertise in IT best practices has six questions that need to be answered about Lois Lerner’s -and at least 20 other IRS employees – email.
- What happened to the IRS’s IT Asset Managers who appear to have disappeared at a key juncture?
- Where is the documentation proving that Lois Lerner’s hard drive was wiped or destroyed?
- Were the drives destroyed by an outside vendor or firm?
- What are the IRS’s specific policies and procedures on document retention when hard drives are damaged or destroyed?
- What is the disaster recovery policy at the IRS?
- Where are Lois Lerner’s emails from her Blackberry device? Are those secure? What is on the enterprise server?

- Where all the email SERVERS backed up? (The emails should be recoverable from all the POST OFFICES that transmitted the email.)
- What about all the people who received her, or email from the other “unlucky” folks whose hard drives died? (I have emails in MY in box from folks.)
- What about other non-government email accounts like GMAIL to avoid to disclosure.
- What about the NSA email snooping program? (Surely they have everything!)
Argh!
It’s all corrupt.
And the politicians and bureaucrats have no shame.

Recent controversies surrounding the Internal Revenue Service and other government agencies have sown doubts about the honesty of the Obama administration, but most people don’t hold the president personally responsible for the agency actions, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds.
A majority of poll respondents, some 55%, said IRS scrutiny of conservative groups raised some level of doubt about the administration’s “overall honesty and integrity.”

On the ACLJ website, several questions from the IRS were quoted:
(1) Do you directly or indirectly communicate with members of legislative bodies? If so, provide copies of the written communications and contents of other forms of communications.
(2) Please describe the associate group members and their role with your organization in further detail. (a) How does your organization solicit members? (b) What are the questions asked of potential members? (c) What are the selection criteria for approval? (d) Do you limit membership to other organizations exempt under 501(c)(4) of the Code? (e) Provide the name, employer identification number, and address of the organizations.
(3) Do you have a close relationship with any candidate for public office or political party? If so describe fully the nature of that relationship.
“The quoted requests are merely the tip of the iceberg,” the ACLJ said. “We’re still reviewing the IRS letters and will have more information as we complete our review.”
The report continued, “Critically, the demands we’ve seen are made not in response to complaints of wrongdoing but instead in response to applications for exemption. In other words, the IRS appears to be conditioning the grant of exemptions on the extensive violation of the tea party’s fundamental First Amendment freedoms.”
