A Thai man, believed to be a Thai naval officer, didn’t let 100 meters of feces-filled sewer piping get between him and a crying litter of puppies in need. According to the video uploaded to LiveLeak on Wednesday, the man waded through the poop chute with a flashlight in tow and pulled out 4 puppies who were, according to NineMSN, ”washed in after heavy rain.”

Anderson Cooper: TWA Flight 800 Was Shot Down

Well back in July while CNN’s Anderson Cooper was covering the flight MH17 “incident,” he accidentally blurted out that flight 800 was “shot down,” (what, by a surface-to-air missile perhaps?) before he corrected himself at the next possible opportunity after the next commercial break with the official government story.

The United States and Canada are still allowing air travel from the nations of Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia where the Ebola epidemic is centered.

The Ebola patient who died in Dallas, Thomas Eric Duncan, had flown from Liberia. About 150 people each day fly from those three countries to the US. South Africa and a host of other African countries have closed off flights from the three West African countries, but the United States and Canada have not.

The most likely way Ebola could spread on planes may not be from contact with passengers, but from waste on planes. Some airliners are now so filthy and unsanitary that cabin cleaners at New York’s LaGuardia Airport walked off the job, The New York Daily News reported. The cleaners are angry because of the danger of potential exposure to Ebola.

“I have to deal with vomit, feces and a lot of chemicals, without proper equipment,” cleaner Johanna Cruz told The Daily News. “They give us gloves, but they might as well be made of paper because they rip so easily.”

And, it’s not unreasonable to quarantine travelers.

This poor soul flew while infected and did NOT show symptoms until after he was here.

A new study from Moody’s Investors Service, the bond credit rating business, reports that the level of unfunded liabilities for the 25 largest state and local U.S. public pensions is now more than $2 trillion. The gap is more than three times higher than it was just a decade ago.

The public pension system’s integrity must be protected with common-sense reforms that acknowledge the reality of the constantly growing pension gap. And what is being said is only the obvious part of the psychological virus (call it “Ebolophobia”) that is spreading; I would venture that millions of people are already unconsciously spending mental energy to suppress their worries that the disease could infect them or those they love.

Part of the preventive health strategy to help contain this psychological virus should be a reliable flow of information and bold policy from the Obama administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
