POLITICAL: Latest revelations show Team Obama invented RussiaGate scandal

Sunday, October 11, 2020

The US intel community found it was authentic Russian analysis, though it couldn’t judge the veracity of the claim. And President Barack Obama was briefed on it, per his CIA director, John Brennan. In notes also released last week, Brennan describes telling Obama about the “alleged approval by Hillary Clinton on July 28 of a proposal from one of her foreign policy advisers to villify [sic] Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services.”

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: EVERY overpriced, monopolistic government “service” can be … …

EVERY overpriced, monopolistic government “service” can be competitively privatized. Education, social services, arbitration and space travel, for example. BLM grazing lands should be sold to pay government debt. We’ve had free market health care for hundreds of years… for livestock and pets. Video streaming and Kindle are private libraries. Railroads are private roads, cars electronically billed.

Governments don’t collect taxes to provide services, they attempt “services” to gouge taxes: a protection racket. Instead, YOU can decide how to allocate your resources = consumer financial voting. In a democracy, if 51% want vanilla, all get vanilla. With freedom, you can have chocolate, strawberry or dozens of choices.

Say Goodbye To Millions Of Jobs As Events Unfold
by Tyler Durden

Authored by Bruce Wilds via Advancing Time blog

*** begin quote ***

Many jobs will not be coming back after the covid-19 crisis ends. We can say goodbye to millions of jobs as events unfold and markets evolve. Millions of small businesses being decimated by Fed policies that favor huge companies coupled with a surge in automation bodes poorly for those looking for work. Over the last three decades, robots have become far more common in factories. In many manufacturing facilities, robots do most of the work. A typical factory may contain hundreds of robots working on fully automated production lines, as it rolls by on a conveyor, a product can be welded, glued, painted, and finally assembled at a sequence of robot stations.

Unfortunately, the current and next generation are not prepared to move up the “value chain”.

That doesn’t necessarily mean more college degrees will save you.

The world will always value “poor plumbers”, good doctors and car mechanics, and entrepreneurial people who satisfy the needs of their fellow human beings.

The essential skill to have is to recognize that “the rules” are always changing and one has to be ready to ride the “wave”.

“multiculturalism, discrimination, and identity”

Isn’t “multiculturalism” merely a Gooferment fiction?  When I grew up I was “watched” by a variety of “family” members (i.e., neighbors) who were Irish, Italian, Jewish, Puerto Rican, and Black.  By Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Atheists, and Pagans.  By old and young.  And it just seemed normal.  Neighbors looking out for neighbors. “I know who you are and I know your Mother” were a frequent refrain.

Isn’t discrimination an important skill?  One must discriminate between good and evil people.  Between things that are toxic and not.  Of course, we learned that “you can’t judge a book by its cover” applied to everyone and everything.

Isn’t “identity” another tool that Gooferment, politicians, and bureaucrats use to divide humanity into factions that they can pit against one another.  Life is NOT a zero sum game.  Don’t argue about dividing a fixed pie when together we can make the pie bigger.

Can’t wait to read this book and see if we align.

POLITICAL: Get Ready for Chaos – The Daily Reckoning

Thursday, October 8, 2020

And if Biden does win, it’s entirely possible he won’t be president for more than a few months. His cognitive decline, probably the result of Alzheimer’s Disease or some other form of dementia, is already apparent to observers. I realize he performed well during his debate with Trump, but Alzheimer’s does not progress in a straight line.

The type of cognitive decline Biden is suffering is not a continuous downhill slide. It’s what’s called a “step function.” That means the mental ability drops suddenly, then stabilizes or plateaus for a while, then drops again. It never improves, but it can appear stable for a time until the next sudden drop comes.

It will be relatively simple to remove Biden from office under the 25th Amendment and install Kamala Harris as Acting President. This could be followed by a formal resignation by Biden, at which point Harris would become President. This was hinted at on September 12 when Kamala Harris made reference to a coming “Harris Administration,” and again on September 15 when Joe Biden referred to the “Harris-Biden administration” at a campaign event.

These are not mere slips of the tongue, but rather a preview of the fact that a vote for Biden is really a vote for President Harris. Kamala Harris does not have the cognitive challenges of Joe Biden, but she is a malleable blank slate who will be easily handled by the radicals whom she supports.

GUNS: The “incorporation doctrine” is the camel’s nose

Federal Courts Fail Again in Washington Gun Case
By: Mike Maharrey|Published on: Oct 4, 2020|Categories: 2nd Amendment, Court Cases, Incorporation Doctrine

*** begin quote ***

The judge’s opinion notwithstanding, the federal government has no constitutional authority to place any restrictions on firearms. The Constitution does not delegate any firearm regulating authority to the feds, and the Second Amendment slams the door on any regulation on firearms within the scope of other constitutionally delegated powers such as regulation of commerce. “Shall not infringe” does not come with an asterisk. No terms and conditions apply. The Second Amendment absolutely prohibits any federal infringement on the right to keep and bear arms.

But this should have never been a federal case to begin with. It should have been decided in state court under the Washington state constitution. Section 24 of the state constitution restricts state regulation of firearms.

“SECTION 24 RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS. The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired, but nothing in this section shall be construed as authorizing individuals or corporations to organize, maintain or employ an armed body of men.”

So why did it end up in federal court? Because of the bastardization of the 14th Amendment known as the “incorporation doctrine.”

*** end quote ***

Everything becomes a Federal case.

Both the Section 24 of the state constitution and the Second Amendment should have protected the citizens’ right to “keep and bear arms”.

But it’s unfashionable today to have an armed citizenry.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? . . .” — Alexander Solzhenitsyn

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: New York Governor Cuomo Announces Jewish Redlining Policy (Updated) – Reason.com

New York Governor Cuomo Announces Jewish Redlining Policy (Updated)
Rather than imposing restrictions on high-density zip codes, New York will draw red lines (literally) around “clusters” in Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods.
JOSH BLACKMAN |THE VOLOKH CONSPIRACY | 10.6.2020 11:24 PM

*** begin quote ***

During the New Deal, the Roosevelt administration rated communities based on whether they were desirable for lending. The government color-coded the maps to give banks a helpful guide. More desirable areas were outlined in green. Declining areas were outlined in yellow. And risk neighborhoods were outlined in red. Unsurprisingly, the “redlined” neighborhoods tended to be poor, black communities. And, in turn, banks denied loans to these redlined communities. To this day, the legacy of redlining is still felt, especially in urban areas.

Did anyone in Governor Cuomo’s office reflect on this history? Today, the New York Governor announced a new policy to contain COVID-19. His administration will color-code neighborhoods based on the COVID-19 infection rate. Yellow neighborhoods will have light restrictions. Orange neighborhoods will have heavy restrictions. And red neighborhoods will have stringent restrictions. All schools will be closed in red and orange neighborhoods. In red zones, houses of worship will have strict 10 person caps, regardless of capacity.

Many outlets use these visuals as a way to present and further their ideological interests.  However, often times memes are outright false or misleading, yet are shared to thousands or even millions of viewers.  While most people understand they don’t carry the weight of respected news outlets or scholarly journals, they have a way of influencing opinions on subjects, as many people get their news and ideas from their Facebook feeds, and memes have a way of sounding authoritative.

The Meme Policeman takes on these tools of propaganda, and holds them accountable to the truth.  Feel free to browse memes by category using the navigation links on top, or go to the main page and view them chronologically.

If you’ve noticed a meme that seems questionable or outright false, please send it in! The best way is to become a Patron and access the private Facebook page which I monitor along with other fans. Or send a message via Facebook to the Meme Policeman, or via the contact form below.  It will be investigated, and, if necessary, “arrested”.  Together, we can help the truth out and shame the distributors of propaganda into thinking twice about their next meme.

Here’s how it might work: Take the best classes from the best professors, record them, and compile them into a central digital library. Rather than completing structured programs, students could access the content they’re seeking at any time, in any order.

These vast libraries of “massive open online courses” (MOOCs) — run by companies like Coursera and edX — already feature content from Harvard, MIT, you name it. But they’re nowhere near as effective as they could be — drop-off rates reach 95 percent — because they’re passive.

Beloved Staten Island tavern loses liquor license days after suing over restaurant ban
By Dean Balsamini

The borough’s beloved Joyce’s Tavern — which has a heavy FDNY constituency — lost its liquor license following a “surprise, random” visit during a 9/11 fundraiser on Sept. 11 by State Liquor Authority (SLA) inspectors.

The Irish pub’s supporters say the raid was a political hit job, and that a new videotape will soon prove the bar and grill did nothing wrong — and could exonerate it as soon as this coming week.

Tavern backers believe the ill-timed raid was retaliation by Gov. Cuomo for a lawsuit filed just days earlier against him, as well as the city and Mayor de Blasio, by Joyce’s and other crippled Island restaurants demanding they be allowed to reopen.

China Is Killing The Dollar
by Tyler Durden

Authored by Alasdair Macleod via GoldMoney.com

*** begin quote ***

In the wake of the Fed’s promise of 23 March to print money without limit in order to rescue the covid-stricken US economy, China changed its policy of importing industrial materials to a more aggressive stance. In examining the rationale behind this move, this article concludes that while there are sound geopolitical reasons behind it the monetary effect will be to drive down the dollar’s purchasing power, and that this is already happening.

More recently, a veiled threat has emerged that China could dump all her US Treasury and agency bonds if the relationship with America deteriorates further. This appears to be a cover for China to reduce her dollar exposure more aggressively. The consequences are a primal threat to the Fed’s policy of escalating monetary policy while maintaining the dollar’s status in the foreign exchanges.

It would seem that the USA politicians and bureaucrats are playing into the Chinese’s hands.  And, giving them the “club” to beat the USA to a pulp!

It will stop getting updates when your Chromebook reaches end of life.

Using a browser that no longer gets software updates is not a safe thing to do. With this change, Google can continue to give you Chrome updates even after stopping support for Chrome OS on your Chromebook.

But that’s not what I am excited about

I use two Chrome profiles on my Mac. One has my personal account. The second profile has the Google account that I use for the blog (Analytics and Search Console, etc).

Whenever I have to switch between these two profiles to complete tasks, I tend to use my Mac. It is not easy to do this on a Chromebook. I cannot switch profiles as I do on my Mac or Windows PC.

I never saw a need for “profiles”.

POLICY: Welfare, Tax Rules Keep Working-Class Americans From Marrying, Experts Say
New report shows ‘marriage penalties’ fall hardest on the poor
Charles Fain Lehman – SEPTEMBER 10, 2020 4:30 PM

*** begin quote ***

The design of long-standing welfare programs likely keeps numerous working-class couples from getting hitched, a research report released Thursday by the American Enterprise Institute argues.

Those couples might otherwise get married and provide the empirically validated benefits of a married two-parent home to their children, report author and AEI scholar Bradford Wilcox argued during a Thursday panel appearance debuting the report.

Instead, Wilcox and co-panelists noted, thresholds for eligibility for certain welfare programs and tax credits only let couples access them if they keep their incomes separate, discouraging marriage. That, research further shows, perpetuates a now-yawning “marriage gap” between rich and poor, in turn perpetuating the cycle of poverty.

The report, in other words, argues that government policy has both stood in the way of marriage formation and perpetuated socioeconomic inequality, highlighting a policy concern that could galvanize lawmakers on both the left and right to act.

*** end quote ***

Tell me that this was NOT a deliberate attempt at racism.  I remember how people predicted that it would destroy the poor black families as well as drive fathers out of their children’s live.  Prediction came true.

And look at the Hasidic community in Lakewood defrauding the welfare system by not registering religious marriages with the State so the large families take home huge welfare checks.

When the scandal broke, the State Attorney General had conferences there saying it was fraud.

But no one went to jail and the fraud continues.

Unfortunately a lot of college students have been misinformed by their professors as to how Capitalism is really responsible fror the dramatic increase in the standard of living around the world (not labor unions) since the Industrial Revolution.

Have “labor unions” outlived their usefulness?

Given their involvement in “politics” to maintain the status quo of socialism in Gooferment, my answer would be an unequvocal “yes”!

Certainly Gooferment Unions should be eliminated to end the corrupt cycle of: unions give money and free labor to politicians to help them get elected and then those same politicians “negotiate” high packages with those same unions. And of course, the Taxpayer gets shafted.

And, maybe even other unions because those unions “negotiate” with short-term thinking “management” to the detriment of the stock and bond holders.  Perhaps “management” should only be compensated with long term bonds?

If that cycle is not broken, all is lost.

Why Democrats should be worried about mail-in voting

*** begin quote ***

What should be intolerable is any attempt to change the rules after the fact — although it is entirely conceivable that Democrats will feel compelled after Nov. 3 to argue that the mail-in voting that they have done so much to promote is desperately flawed and deeply unjust.

I’m reminded of the Republican’s reaction to a four term FDR.  They passed an amendment limiting the President to two terms.

Who was the first impacted by it?

Eisenhower!

And the other adverse effect was to have lame duck President in his second term unable to do much.

Argh!

So too, it might be “funny” if “mail in ballots” hurts the D’s.  And, the Unintended Consequences might be strife about the elections results!  Anyone remember our old friend from Florida “having chad”?
