GOVEROTRAGEOUS: The government school is the sacrament of the American religion?

FROM TOM WOOD’S EMAIL

*** begin quote ***

Our most recent episode of Contra Krugman — my weekly podcast with Bob Murphy that takes apart a Paul Krugman New York Timescolumn — took on Krugman’s claims about education, teacher salaries, and spending.

The government school is the object of veneration of the American religion.

Therefore, it’s become impossible to view it objectively.

But that’s what we did in our episode.

For example, surveys of adults in a variety of subject areas, from science to history to government, finds most unable to demonstrate even basic competence. It’s a disaster.

This after 13 years in the government’s system.

Just days ago the National Assessment of Educational Progress, a project of the U.S. Department of Education, reported that 65 percent of American eighth graders are not proficient at reading, and 67 percent are not proficient in math.

Students emerge from their 13 years, furthermore, without a single skill that can command a decent wage. In the age of the Internet, they’ve been taught none of the basics of how to make an online living.

Now if the private sector generated such atrocious results, we’d never hear the end of it. Why, these fatcats care nothing about education or the poor. Just their own profits!

But since it’s the government, we get…silence. Oh, and demands for more money.

(If the schools were run by Walmart, do you suppose these folks would accept the “we need more money” excuse?)

*** end quote ***

Gooferment Skrules are a disaster in every dimension, imho!!!

There were two great “definitions”:

  • The Federal Government is an insurance company with an army.
  • The State Governments are educational companies with police forces.

So true!

Seems like “We, The Sheeple” need to separate “insurance” and “education” from Gooferment.

Argh!

FEC hit with lawsuit over ignoring civil complaint accusing Clinton, DNC in election scheme ($84 MILLION in donations improperly distributed?)

Thursday, May 3, 2018

We need to turn this into a poster. That the Hillary camp did this, and to this point has gotten away with this is typical Washington/Clintonish corruption. On a pretty big scale though. Of course it does seem that the Clinton campaign was committed to “going big”. (From Fox News) “Based on publicly available FEC records, repeatedly throughout the 2016 presidential campaign, HVF would purportedly transfer funds to its constituent political committees, which included between 34 and 40 state parties,” reads a passage from a copy of the complaint. “On the very same day each of these transfers supposedly occurred, or occasionally the very next day, every single one of those state parties purportedly contributed all of those funds to the DNC.” The complaint filed against the FEC said previous reports showed a series of transactions in which the HVF disbursed contributions to its state party committee members — and they would receive the funds on the same day.

Socialism/Communism’s legacy of death, A list country by country

Thursday, May 3, 2018

These numbers seem about right. Socialism is about trying to create a heaven on earth. This is impossible. But people still try. However what happens when someone resists the socialist plan for heaven on earth? The answer: People are often just liquidated.

SECURITY: Don’t reuse passwords

Thursday, May 3, 2018

It’s World Password Day

Passwords are in the spotlight today and it’s an important reminder to reconsider our online security routine. Our recent research project, The Psychology of Passwords, shows a startling reality of unsafe online practices. Here’s a little preview of the habits that make hackers very happy:

59% mostly or always use the same password

53% have not changed passwords in the last year

64% want to easily remember their passwords
From this, we’ve learned that consumers are using the same easy-to-remember password for multiple accounts (despite the increase in cybersecurity threats and breaches).

Don’t let yourself be one of these stats – participate in World Password Day! Refresh your passwords today and secure your digital life.

PBD: Substitute Veggies for Meat

Thursday, May 3, 2018

https://www.care2.com/greenliving/what-is-the-natural-human-diet.html

What Is the Natural Human Diet?

What can our nutrient requirements, metabolism, and physiology tell us about what we should be eating?

There are three broad theories about evolution and food. One is that humans have become adapted to grains and other products of the agricultural revolution over the last 10,000 years.

Two is the paleo view “that 10,000 years is a blink of an evolutionary eye, and that humans are adapted to paleolithic diets with a lot of lean meat,” but why stop there?

The third theory is that the last 200,000 years “is a minute of the evolutionary year” when we were mostly Stone Age humans and represents just the last 1 percent of the roughly 20 million years we’ve been evolving since our common great ape ancestor.
