China Embraces New Nuclear Technology

Did I say ALL the reactors are using old technology? Pardon me. China has build a 10 MW (megawatt) prototype “Pebble Bed” reactor at Tsinghua University in Beijing. It holds the promise of safe nuclear-generated power going forward into tomorrow.

The Pebble Bed reactor was actually invented in 1947 by Dr. Farrington Daniels at Oak Ridge National Laboratory here in the USA. Then, German scientists took the concept and have been perfecting it since. America…to its shame…has not embraced this technology.

We need nukes to wean ourselves off imported oil. Americans tamed the frontier. Are you telling me we can’t have safe nukes?

It used to be said, in the early 1990s in my hearing and presumably before that, amongst students of the law that “a grand jury is a tool of the prosecution.” It might once have been that a grand jury was actually a group of concerned members of a community brought together to seek an actual truth. But in current times, if the prosecutor wants to conceal information from them, he does, and they are too ignorant, being mostly public schooled, to know it. If the prosecutor wants them to acquit, they will. If the prosecutor wants them to indict, they will.

Nowadays, jurors are prevented, often forcibly, with violence, from being informed that they have an ancient and legitimate right to rule that the law is unjust, as well as to consider whether the law was broken.

So it has become the case that a jury is now a tool of the prosecution. Federal judges lie, they prevent jurors from hearing the truth, they instruct juries falsely, and they work to serve the system which oppresses the rest of us. They are, in fact, no damned good at all.
