Ohio Woman Sues Doctor for Amputating the Wrong Leg

An Ohio woman is suing her surgeon for allegedly cutting off the wrong leg. She says she went into surgery expecting to lose her right leg, but woke up without her left. As a result, she is now a double amputee.

The victim required an amputation after doctors found cancer in her right leg, but the team at Selby General Hospital mistakenly removed her healthy left leg instead, according to the 32-page complaint filed by the woman’s attorney. The suit argues that the surgeon’s actions amounted to a failure to follow basic patient-safety protocols and constituted what healthcare standards classify as a “never event.” The National Library of Medicine describes “never events” as “the most egregious of patient safety incidents.”

We do not know how much money the plaintiff is seeking, but it is probably an enormous amount. The poor woman is literally legless. We hope you will send her your prayers.

Might be nice to know what those “never events” are?

Argh!

Way back when I was in the USAF, they were always finding “make work” jobs to keep young airmen (I guess it’s now Air “persons”) busy while they were waiting out a delay (i.e., orders not arrived yet; medical “light duty”, waiting for the next class date for training).

Anyway, “we” —  linguists with security clearances and survival school training —  were often sent to the chaplain or the hospital as “workers”.

Don’t laugh chaplains were notorious for not keeping up with bureaucrat “requirements” (i.e, attendance at services numbers; inventorying prayer books, and when were the last inspections done and for what).  (Seriously, what does a chaplain “inspect”?  That everyone has the required sets of underwear? Argh!).

I guess I could define “me delving a baby” as a ‘’never event”?

Sigh!

Getting back to the point, because we had survival school we were considered “qualified for non-technical medical duties”, which surprisingly didn’t include janitorial duties (union), bedpan duty (LPN required, thankfully), or anything with confidential medical information.  (You wonder why taxes are too high?)

So we’d often get to count supplies in the hospital. That had already been counted by the pharmacist and the Head Nurse.

Always, joked I was ready to deliver a baby if no one else was available.  Almost got the chance on a New York bound commuter train stuck due to a bridge opening, the woman didn’t cooperate and was still very pregnant she the rescue squad boarded.

Shucks.  I had the commandeered newspapers all laid out like they taught.  Although I still wonder where we would get newspapers on a combat aircraft?  (Do they even print newspapers today? Guess we could layout phones and newspapers on the floor all displaying a newspaper!) And, since I was on the local rescue squad, I always carried gloves in my back pocket. Laugh!  All to no avail.

P.S., I’d also tell pregnant Moms-to-be that if they named their baby Ferdinand, I’d put them in my will.  Never any takers.

LIBERTY: Informed consent in medical treatment is a fundamental human right!

Bioethics and Freedom to Choose
Stop vaccine mandates. They are unethical, unjustified, scientifically unsound historic artifacts. Just say no.

But what do the Medical Guilds have to say about mandates and informed consent?

In its Code of Medical Ethics, the American Medical Association states:

“Informed consent in medical treatment is fundamental in both ethics and law. Patients have the right to receive information and ask questions about recommended treatments so that they can make well-considered decisions about care. Successful communication in the patient-physician relationship fosters trust and supports shared decision making.”

American Medical Association. Code of Medical Ethics: Informed Consent. 2025.

Fundamental in both ethics and law. But apparently there is an unwritten and unspoken vaccines mandate exemption.

Hard for anyone who has read about the WWII horrific “medical experiments” conducted in Germany, Japan, and the USA.

The Tuskegee Experiment, officially known as the Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male, was a unethical study conducted from 1932 to 1972 by the U.S. Public Health Service, which observed the effects of untreated syphilis on African American men without their informed consent and without providing them treatment, even after effective medication became available

“Informed Consent” and a complete prohibition on Gooferment “research” is the only answer.

Maybe when I’m “king”, I can sign an “executive order” to mandate such.
