A former police officer and teacher charged in the death of their infant daughter have reached an agreement with Mercer County prosecutors that avoids any time in prison.

Prosecutors said that Daniel Bannister, a police officer in Ewing at the time, hurt his daughter. Catherine Bannister was accused of knowing about the abuse, covering it up, and not getting her daughter help until it was too late.

I hope someone explains WHY the text messages were suppressed.  Seems like very relevant information.  

If there is not a great explanation, then the deal should be revoked and the Judge “retired”.

Argh!  Very sad.  How little human life is regarded in our society.

More than 13 years after the murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, Terry’s family is still seeking justice, and the U.S.-Mexico border remains in crisis.

Late Friday, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the conviction and life sentence of a man found guilty of killing Brian Terry in 2010. Terry’s death exposed a botched federal gun operation known as “Fast and Furious,” and brought into focus the national border crisis. 

Brian Terry’s uncle Ralph Terry said, “In more than a decade so little has changed. Our fight to seek justice for Brian is ongoing, at the same time our border security has worsened. This toxic combination led to the death of my nephew and sadly lessons have not been learned. As our current political leaders have turn a blind eye to the situation, they have empowered smugglers and drug cartels more than ever.”

The court in vacating the convictions of Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes August 9th, claimed his constitutional due process rights had been violated, sending the case back to the U.S. District Court in Arizona

And, the bureaucrats, who screwed up the conviction, get no punishment?

There is a lot of finger-pointing over a paving project in the city of Hoboken.

Mayor Ravi Bhalla says that the county paved over drainage pipes and impacted some sidewalks – but there is more to the story.

Hoboken resident David Radlin says there was never a time when he wasn’t concerned with flooding at his home on the 100 block of Park Avenue.

“It’s notorious for flooding, so obviously anything that goes on in the street I pay attention to,” Radlin says.

And he was paying extra attention when he noticed a construction company pave over his sump pump drain.

Where was the on-site supervision?  Doesn’t take a PhD to recognize that something is just plain wrong.  And the home owner should have been screaming bloody blue murder until someone recognized the stupidity.

This should get the line painter, who painted over the dead squirrel, out of the Incompetence Hall of Fame replace by these folks.  At least the paint is temporary.

Whether you think “commonly owned” should matter or not, the reality is that many people do accept that as the standard, and for AR-15s, that hurdle has been cleared. If there should be a hurdle or not is a different topic entirely.

This “commonly owned” should not matter since we couldn’t own an automatic weapon for decades.  Not that a wise gun owner would want one unless you were facing a mob rushing you.  Then, you’d want to put as much as you could down range and wouldn’t worry about aiming.  Only in the movies, does the hero fire without aiming.

The Marines teach fire discipline.  “One bullet; one kill”.

AOC should be thanked for the rhetorical “gift”.

Sure, some people like what they do. The same could have been said for any political movement in Western Civilization, but the left figured out in the 20th century that their authoritarian agenda would not have enough “democratic” support to make it work.

Hence, judicial tyranny.

When I was in grammar school a history assignment was to read the Federalist papers.  That continued in high school. I read them but I didn’t grok them.

It wasn’t until I read Lysander Spooner that I went back to those Federalist Papers and had my eyes opened.

All the politicians and bureaucrats were tyrants then and now were tyrants in disguise.
