TECHNOLOGY: Buying a Tesla? You could be “owned”

Saturday, May 15, 2021

Researchers hack into a Tesla from an aerial drone

This one is material for a scene in a cyber-thriller: a Tesla speeds down the highway carrying “The MacGuffin” in the trunk…. suddenly a scary looking drone with spikes and a razor teeth paint job zooms out of the sky, falls into pace above the car, our hero takes evasive actions but no, the drone has put the vehicle into autonomous mode and veers it… off a cliff… the hero bailing out just in time (or a red-shirt unceremoniously disposed of)… an LED lights up on the drone and trunk pops open, it zooms in, scoops out The MacGuffin and soars away, as the Ian Fleming-esque music begins rolling….

Well we’re not there yet. But security researchers did hover a drone over a parked Tesla, and used a weakness in the vehicle’s WiFi to take control of the onboard infotainment center and make changes to the vehicle’s internal settings, including unlocking the doors and moving the seats (perhaps in our cyber-thriller the drone ejects the driver at accelerated force through the front windshield).

The duo of researchers work for a German cyber-security research firm called Comsecuris GmBH and they’ve dubbed the security flaws “TBONE”

INTERESTING: Merck, the company that invented ivermectin, doesn’t want an off-patent drug

Indication Ivermectin Drastically Reduces Deaths Keeps Trickling in From the Third World. Too Bad It’s a Cheap Generic
Would rain on the virus cult parade
Dr. Sebastian Rushworth

*** begin quote ***

Back in January I wrote an article about four randomized controlled trials of ivermectin as a treatment for covid-19 that had at that time released their results to the public. Each of those four trials had promising results, but each was also too small individually to show any meaningful impact on the hard outcomes we really care about, like death. When I meta-analyzed them together however, the results suddenly appeared very impressive. Here’s what that meta-analysis looked like:

It showed a massive 78% reduction in mortality in patients treated with covid-19. Mortality is the hardest of hard end points, which means it’s the hardest for researchers to manipulate and therefore the least open to bias. Either someone’s dead, or they’re alive. End of story.

You would have thought that this strong overall signal of benefit in the midst of a pandemic would have mobilized the powers that be to arrange multiple large randomized trials to confirm these results as quickly as possible, and that the major medical journals would be falling over each other to be the first to publish these studies.

That hasn’t happened.

*** and ***

I understand why pharmaceutical companies don’t like ivermectin. It’s a cheap generic drug.

Even Merck, the company that invented ivermectin, is doing it’s best to destroy the drug’s reputation at the moment. This can only be explained by the fact that Merck is currently developing two expensive new covid drugs, and doesn’t want an off-patent drug, which it can no longer make any profit from, competing with them.

The only reason I can think to understand why the broader medical establishment, however, is still so anti-ivermectin is that these studies have all been done outside the rich west. Apparently doctors and scientists outside North America and Western Europe can’t be trusted, unless they’re saying things that are in line with our pre-conceived notions.

Molecular Biologist and Toxicologist Calls to Halt Covid Vaccine

Hi, my name is Dr. Janci Chunn Lindsay. I hold a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Texas, and have over 30 years of scientific experience, primarily in toxicology and mechanistic biology.

In the mid-1990s, I aided the development of a temporary human contraceptive vaccine which ended up causing unintended autoimmune ovarian destruction and sterility in animal test models. Despite efforts against this and sequence analyses that did not predict this.

I strongly feel that all the gene therapy vaccines must be halted immediately due to safety concerns on several fronts.

*** and ***

First, there is a credible reason to believe that the Covid vaccines will cross-react with the syncytin and reproductive proteins in sperm, ova, and placenta, leading to impaired fertility and impaired reproductive and gestational outcomes.

*** and ***

Secondly, all of the gene therapies [Covid vaccines] are causing coagulopathy. [Coagulopathy when the body’s blood clotting system is impaired.] This is not isolated to one manufacturer. And this is not isolated to one age group.

*** and ***

Third, there is strong evidence for immune escape, and that inoculation under pandemic pressure with these leaky vaccines is driving the creation of more lethal mutants that are both newly infecting a younger age demographic, and causing more Covid-related deaths across the population than would have occurred without intervention. That is, there is evidence that the vaccines are making the pandemic worse.

*** end quote ***

My concern is that “we” don’t know what we are doing with this tool.

It’s really mischaracterization to call it a “vaccine”.  We need a new word to distinguish it from what we know as a vaccine.

Take care.

YMMV

This is How Bad Currency Devaluations Can Really Get

*** begin quote ***

Re how vicious currency devaluations can be for many people, I heard an interesting anecdote today in a podcast about a young man who escaped the horrors of North Korea. He described in excruciating detail the various ways that the communist regime savaged the common man/woman there.

Almost in passing, the young man mentioned “did you hear about the currency devaluation that occurred in North Korea in 2010.” (It caused him to be homeless again.) He said that it, “killed thousands of people because the money that people had been saving became worthless.”

He added, “a lot of our neighbors committed suicide. It was like one day they had something and another day they have nothing. And they have no hope of living.”

*** end quote ***

Once upon a time, before I was old enough to get a job that paid real money, I had the childhood dream that “Monopoly money would become REAL money.”  Sigh, the child’s fantasies, have sort of become true.  The “REAL” money of my youth has become almost as worthless as Monopoly money.

The dollar of the 1960’s has lost NINETY SOMETHING per cent of it’s purchasing power.

Using the “penny candy” standard, it’s a 100%.

Using the “quarter a gallon of gas” standard, (a silver quarter is worth about five 2021’s “dollars”; 5 2021’s “dollars will buy you 2.78 gallons; a 2021 quarter “slug” will buy you  about 0.14 of a gallon; that about 0.05 of value) it’s about 95%.

Using the “Kendall Park ranch house” standard, (a 35k$ house now sells for about 325k$; or about 9 times it’s nominal value) it’s about 92%.

Pick the number you like best to describe the “devaluation”!

The Gooferment might as well devalue. “We, The Sheeple” are already screwed.

INNOVATION: Does an EV owner either stuck with it or returned to gas?

Surprising number of EV owners switch back to gas power, study says
The study looked at owners in California specifically and found home charging was a huge factor in people dropping the EV lifestyle.
Sean Szymkowski
May 4, 2021 9:14 a.m. PT

*** begin quote ***

As so much of the world works to pivot away from fossil fuels and the internal-combustion engine, a new study from the University of California, Davis, published in the journal Nature Energy last week, showed some concerning signs for what the auto industry still needs to get right. According to this study, which looked at California EV owners specifically between 2015-2019, 18% of electric vehicle owners switched back to a gas-powered car. For plug-in hybrid owners, 20% of them flipped back to a car solely powered by an engine.

The major takeaway from the EV flip-flopping lands in the lap of charging — specifically at-home charging. The lack of reliable Level 2 charging at home (that’s a 240-volt plug) was a major factor leading to EV “discontinuance,” as the researchers called it. That makes sense. If you don’t have a place to charge reliably, it makes it a lot harder to enjoy the benefits associated with an EV, including an overall lower cost of ownership. Public charging infrastructure remains just OK, with many stations down for maintenance, or simply not close enough to drivers, even in California, where chargers are more common than the rest of the US. And charging times at a public station still aren’t on par with gassing up a car.

According to the research, about half of the respondents who bought another EV had access to Level 2 charging, compared to the 30% who dumped the electric lifestyle, but had a proper plug at home. The research found owners were 53% less likely to buy another EV if they did not have access to convenient, at-home charging. Essentially, it was a coin toss over whether an EV owner either stuck with it or returned to gas pumps.

*** end quote ***

It’s hard to imagine without HUGE tax subsidies, a major oil disruption, or a Gooferment diktat, that “We, The Sheeple” will give up the cheap reliable option of a gas powered car.

The group of plaintiffs joining the lawsuit to challenge the program includes farmers from Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota and Ohio.

The suit contends that excluding white farmers from the program amounts to a violation of the plaintiffs’ constitutional rights.

‘Were plaintiffs eligible for the loan forgiveness benefit, they would have the opportunity to make additional investments in their property, expand their farms, purchase equipment and supplies, and otherwise support their families and local communities,’ the lawsuit said.

‘Because plaintiffs are ineligible to even apply for the program solely due to their race, they have been denied the equal protection of the law and therefore suffered harm.’

The U.S. Department of Agriculture issued a statement saying it was reviewing the lawsuit with the U.S. Department of Justice, but that the USDA plans to continue to offer loan forgiveness to ‘socially disadvantaged’ farmers.

INSPIRATIONAL: Violence at Home Signal for Help

Friday, May 7, 2021

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signal_for_Help

Did you know? – source Wikipedia

The Signal for Help (or the Violence at Home Signal for Help)
is a single-handed gesture that can be used by an individual to alert others that
they feel threatened and need help over a video call, or in-person. It was originally
created as a tool to combat the rise in domestic violence cases around the world
as a result of the self-isolation measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The signal is performed by holding your hand up with your
thumb tucked into your palm, then folding your fingers down, symbolically
trapping your thumb in your fingers. It was intentionally designed as a single
continuous hand movement, rather than a sign held in one position, that could be
made easily visible.

The Signal for Help was first introduced in Canada by the Canadian
Women’s Foundation and in the United States by the Women’s Funding Network
(WFN) in April 2020. It received widespread praise from local, national, and
international news organizations for helping provide a modern solution to the issue
of a rise in domestic violence cases. The signal has been recognized by over 40
organizations across Canada and the United States as a useful tool to help
combat domestic violence.

Addressing concerns that abusers may become aware of such a
widespread online initiative, the Canadian Women’s Foundation and other
organizations clarified that this signal is not “something that’s going to
save the day,” but rather a tool someone could use to get help.
Instructions for what to do if an individual sees the signal, and how to
check-in safely, were also created.

Bill Maher now admits Russiagate was ‘reported erroneously’ after years of promoting Trump-Russia collusion narrative
NEWSPAUL SACCA
May 01, 2021

*** begin quote ***

Bill Maher now admits that the Russiagate story that he helped promulgate while Donald Trump was president had elements that were “reported erroneously.” The liberal TV talk show host made the admission on the latest episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

There were hundreds of media outlets and some Democratic politicians that pushed conspiracy theories claiming Trump was colluding with the Russian government, including stories that the former U.S. president was a “handmaid” to Russian President Vladimir Putin because he was blackmailed by kompromat. Veteran journalist Brit Hume went so far as to say the mainstream media’s coverage of the Russia investigation is the “worst journalistic fiasco” he has ever witnessed.

The Russian collusion story came crashing down when Robert Mueller’s nearly two-year “investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.”

On Friday night, Maher made a confession that the Russian collusion story wasn’t all that the media made it out to be. During a panel discussion about the federal agent raid of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s Manhattan apartment that took place this week, Maher asked his guests, “Is it political payback, is this politics or is it because what Giuliani and Trump did was unprecedented?”

One, they are largely posted under duress; i.e., it is not a freely taken decision of the owner but rather the owner acting out of fear of government. Put another way, the government is using the “private” business to impose its “mandates,” via threats. In other words, it is an assault  on private property – as well as free association.

Two, this is nothing like ordinary rules regarding terms of service. It is about spreading a deliberate, dangerous lie – and about forcing complicity in the lie. The propagation of mass hysteria, no different, fundamentally, than shouting “fire!” in a crowded theater when there is no fire.

So, there is no dilemma. Certainly not morally.

Like the ability to pass or repeal laws via the ballot box — initiative and referendum — the recall is one of the mechanisms of direct democracy that were adopted in many states during the Progressive Movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. GOVERNACIDE: The Deadly Precedent of the Waco Whitewash – LewRockwell

Tuesday, May 4, 2021

Danforth was dismissive not only of written evidence but of convincing visual evidence. Waco: Rules of Engagement, a movie that won an Emmy and was nominated for an Academy Award, shows lengthy footage of FBI tanks repeatedly and systematically demolishing much of the building. Harvard Prof. Alan Stone, one of the outside experts the Justice Department tapped in 1993 to examine the incident, concluded, “Some of the government’s actions may have killed people before the fire started. I cannot tell whether the tanks knocked down places where people were already. I don’t know if there were people in there crushed by the collapsing building [as a result of FBI tanks plowing into the structure] before the fire started.”

The Deadly Precedent of the Waco Whitewash – LewRockwell

*** and ***

In his Washington Post oped in October, Danforth wailed that Trump’s accusing the Commission on Presidential Debates of favoritism “destroys public confidence in the most basic treasure of democracy, the conduct of fair elections” and “paves the way to violence in the streets.” But for many Americans, “government under the law” is the basic treasure of democracy. And Danforth’s yapping about the peril of “violence in the streets” rings hollow after he whitewashed a federal assault that left 80 people dead. Americans are sick and tired of the “move along, nothing to see here” version of democracy that Danforth offered.

California To Offer Early Release To Over 63,000 Violent Felons

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is giving 76,000 inmates – 63,000 of which are violent and repeat felons – the chance to leave prison early, allowing inmates with good behavior to shorten their sentences by 1/3 instead of the 1/5 instituted in 2017, according to the Associated Press.
