MEMORIES: Saturday’s shopping adventure

Monday, August 26, 2013

One of Frau Reinke’s favorite days was “back to school” shopping day. It’s was her chance to spoil children and share their simple joy in new duds.

(As a fat old white guy injineer, I could care less about clothes. Shopping is just torture. And “skrule” was cruel and unusual punishment by some Yack in the Box!)

She directed me to carry on and gave me my instructions. I promised. So last Saturday, I did it again for her.

Funny! Nothing like a dirty old man wandering around young girls clothing stores. At least, when I was carrying a bag or two, I didn’t feel so self-conscious.

Any way, I write this post to share two serendipitous moments.

The first store we hit had music and the tune that played after our arrival was Taylor Swift’s @tswift13 “You Belong With Me”. I took that as an omen to encourage me to relax and enjoy the moment.

The day went on to its eventual conclusion when even a tween gets tired of “shopping”.

So I rewarded myself with some time at the AL410 for a Met’s loss, a Yank’s loss, and a few adult beverages.

Closing the joint, I headed home to “do” Jasper Jottings. I was strangely hungry. So I ducked into McD’s. (Yeah, I know non-primal carbs after 7PM.) Gotta Big Mac.

Home, ate, Jottings, sack!

This morning I looked at the McD receipt. It’s number 247.

That was Our Girl’s favorite-est number.

Was that a message from the Universe?

Like well done, well pleased.

Or just coincidence?

You decide. I know what I’d like to believe.

INTERESTING: Regrets? No!

Monday, August 26, 2013

“My one regret in life is that I am not someone else.” – Woody Allen

# – # – #

I have many regrets:

(1) I didn’t move to Nevada as I planned.

(2) I didn’t make it big!

(3) I didn’t strangle the docs that “practiced” on Our Girl.

My regrets are even more for my Mom:

(1) She didn’t get Aunt Marion’s farm. (Maybe I can get my own.)

(2) She didn’t realize the risks of a war time romance.

(3) She didn’t see my Dad’s vision of life as better?

Regrets are dumb.

(1) Life is not a VCR with a rewind function.

(2) We make our own choices; looking back is like driving by looking in the rear view mirror.

(3) All you do is make yourself unhappy.

Can’t change the past; so change the future!

RANT: Free Competition in Currency Act of 2013

Sunday, August 25, 2013

Letterhead
August 23, 2013
Mr. Ferdinand Reinke
1641 International Dr Unit 414
McLean, VA 22102-4831

Dear Mr. Reinke:

Thank you for contacting me about H.R. 77. I appreciate hearing from you.

H.R. 77, the Free Competition in Currency Act of 2013, was introduced by Representative Paul Broun on January 3, 2013 and was referred to the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law. This legislation would allow any metal coins issued by a government or individual to be legally accepted currency.

The Federal Reserve System was established in 1913 to provide stability in the banking system through the regulation of bank reserves. It is the central bank of the United States and formulates the nation’s monetary policy, with a dual mandate of fostering maximum employment and price stability. It is also the “lender of last resort” in our nation’s financial system. Its record reflects its commitment to promoting low levels of inflation and unemployment, as well as maintaining economic stability.

The Fed is purchasing $85 billion in assets each month in an effort to stimulate spending and spur investment in businesses and homes. These asset purchases are known as quantitative easing (QE). There is uncertainty about the Fed’s ability to unwind from QE without some financial or economic disruption, including inflation. However, currently inflation and inflation expectations remain low; consumer prices rose 2% in July 2013, compared to a year earlier.

Since August 2012, the Fed has released quarterly financial statements in addition to its annual reports, in response to demands for accountability and openness. I think this is an important step and believe we will continue to see such measures from the Fed in the future.

Thank you again for contacting me with your views.

Sincerely,

Signature

Tim Kaine

TINFOILHAT: JFK Assassination; End of the American Republic?

The JFK Assassination Marked the End of the American Republic
Interview with Martin Broeckers, author of JFK: Coup d’Etat in America“
By Lars Schall
Global Research
August 21, 2013

*** begin quote ***

On occasion of the publication of his latest book, German author Mathias Broeckers talks about the assassination of John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963, which he sees as a coup d’etat that was never rolled back.

Mathias Broeckers, born 1954, is a German investigative journalist and the author of more than ten books, most of them related to the topics of drugs, terrorism and deep politics. He works for the daily German newspaper TAZ and the webzine Telepolis. His latest book, “JFK: Staatsstreich in Amerika” (“JFK: Coup d’Etat in America“), was published this August at Westend Verlag in Frankfurt, Germany.

*** and ***

LS: If one looks at the crime from the perspective of “motive, means, opportunity,” which groups are the most likely culprits? Some of the usual suspects may have had a motive, but neither the means nor the opportunity, right?

MB: Yes. This is a crucial point with many JFK theories. A lot of people had motives, be it the hardcore commies in Russia, China, Cuba, be it the Israelis because of JFKs dismissal of nukes in Israel, be it the Federal Reserve because of his idea for a new US dollar backed by silver, the mob because of his dismissal to invade Cuba to get their casinos and brothels back, the racist Southerners because of his engagement for civil rights… but no one of them had the means and opportunity for the murder and above all the means to cover it up over the years.

*** and ***

LS: Why does the death of JFK still matter?

MB: It’s the most important crime in the second half of the 20th century, it is still unsolved and it marked in a way the end of the American Republic. Since then the financial-military-industrial complex rules and no president after JFK had the balls to challenge that. There is, in the words of Gore Vidal, “a one-party-system with two right-wings”; there are corporate media brainwashing the population 24/7 and propagating wars for global imperial dominance; there are covert operations all over the world to ensure this dominance – and this will go on and on as long the truth about the covert operation, the coup d’ état, against JFKs presidency is kept hidden.

*** end quote ***

I never heard that JFK was advocating for a “silver dollar”.

I never bought into the Warren Commission’s “magic bullet”.

I know that Marines can shoot, but not with that weapon and all those variables.

So what is someone to do?

I think one becomes very cynical about anything anything politicians and bureaucrats say, advocate, or propose.

The answer to them should always be “No”!

Read The Bill, One Subject at Time, and the other proposals will never be accepted because the “two parties” are really just one!

Secession.

Hard money.

And, prepare for the collapse and crash.

Then, be prepared to rebuild.

POLITICAL: Hemp, why not?

5 Surprising Health Benefits of Hemp
Brandi, selected from Diets in Review
August 17, 2013

*** begin quote ***

Hemp has always had trouble stepping out of the shadow of its dirty cousin marijuana. While it is closely related to whacky tobaccy, hemp has microscopic amounts of THC — the chemical in marijuana that gets you high — and eating hemp foods won’t jeopardize your next drug test. The health benefits of hemp are so vast that people are beginning to abandon the antiquated stereotypes of the versatile plant.

Sharon Palmer, author of The Plant Powered Diet, wasn’t wasting her breath when she said, “I think hemp is the next ‘it’ food — it has been for a while.” The hemp seed is bursting with Omega-6 and Omega-3, essential fatty acids that have heart health and anti inflammatory benefits. Hemp seeds are nutty in flavor and breathe life into salads, desserts, yogurts, cereals, and breads. Hemp seeds can be turned into butter, milk, protein powder, finishing oil, and soap.

Unfortunately, Uncle Sam outlawed hemp farming in 1958, a shame when you consider how amazing a crop it is. The plant thrives without pesticides, purifies the soil around it, and kills weeds. The U.S. is the only country that bans industrial hemp farming, quelling what could be an agricultural and financial boon for our indebted country.

*** end quote ***

How about we get the Gooferment out of farming?

Why do we have a “Department of Agriculture” any way?

Oh yeah, that’s right we need to reward “crony farmers” who make contributions to politicians.

Why can’t we feed the world with our exports?

Argh!

RANT: The Elite get a police escort at your expense

Thursday, August 22, 2013

http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-Sports/2013/08/17/LBJ-Police

*** begin quote ***

From the Associated Press:

The Miami Heat star posted a video of him saying he was following ”a police escort on the wrong side of the street” to get to the concert at Sun Life Stadium. The eight-second video shows James’ vehicle behind others with police lights flashing, as oncoming traffic on the three-lane side of the road allowed them to pass.

It was unclear what law enforcement agency was providing the escort, which appeared to be taking place in the vicinity of the stadium. Traffic around much of the area was clogged because of the concert.

GOLDBUG: India’s Gold Saga

The Lesson Of India’s Gold Saga
Gold Silver Worlds | August 20, 2013 | Category: Physical Market

*** begin quote ***

The Indian rupee hit a record low yesterday. The Indian government’s efforts did not succeed to stop its decline. What’s more, bond yields surged to five-year highs driven by market forces. Reuters writes:

Efforts to prop up the currency, which has tumbled nearly 13 percent against the dollar this year, have thus far proved ineffective, making it the worst performer in emerging Asia and threatening to drive the region’s third-largest economy towards a full-blown crisis.

The long term chart of the Indian rupee says it all. Pay special attention to the evolution since the end of 2011 and particularly the last months of this year

*** and ***

Linked to their currency debasement is the growing current account deficit. In an attempt to solve this, the country issued several sanctions to discourage their currency flowing into gold. We described for instance in Indian Government Desperately Tries To Discourage Gold Demand several import taxes. More recently, Indian officials increased the gold import duty to 10%. Needless to say that gold imports have almost frozen in the past couple of weeks.

*** end quote ***

Interesting that the illiterate Indians know they are get inflated by fiat currency.

When will the very literate Sheeple here in the USA get the picture?

Argh!

BECK’S FASCINATING BREAKDOWN OF THE OBL SITUATION ROOM PHOTO — AND HOW WHAT OBAMA DOESN’T HAVE IN FRONT OF HIM IS INCREDIBLY TELLING
Aug. 15, 2013 4:42pm Erica Ritz

*** begin quote ***

How closely have you looked at the now-historic photo of the White House Situation Room during the Osama bin Laden raid?

On his radio show Thursday — in light of recent claims that President Obama said “I can’t watch this entire thing” and played about “15 games of Spades” during the 2011 raid — Glenn Beck took a closer look at everything from the president’s lack of a seat at the table to what the commander in chief’s motivations may have been for reportedly opting to be absent for a large part of the proceedings.

An excellent observation!

A picture IS worth a thousand words.

Who is in charge?

Biden!

The General!

No one?
