RANT: “Your” woman

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Anyone find some of the valentine’s day commercial infuriating?

Listen for the implicit, or in some cases explicit, implication that someone is “your” woman.

Now I may follow Grok the Paleo diet and my knuckles may drag from time to time …

… but …

most of the women I know are not “MINE” or anybody’s.

Fastest way to get “curbed” is even think of ownership of another human being,

And as a little L libertarian, that’s unthinkable.

argh!

MONEY: A “delaying action” to keep the Ponzi scheme going

17 Questions That Deserve Answers

*** begin quote ***

The U.S. believes in paper dollars and an unbacked debt based currency. Such currency can be created with little more than a few keystrokes on a Federal Reserve computer. Would the Fed and the U.S. government sell gold into the world market to slow the inevitable weakening of the U.S. dollar? Would the Fed and the U.S. government ship (via intermediaries) substantial quantities of gold to China to prevent dumping of T-bonds and dollars? Are gold sales a “delaying action” to extend the reserve currency status of the U.S. dollar?

*** end quote ***

Certainly, you can not trust the bankers, crony capitalists, politicians, and bureaucrats!

So what should we put out trust in?

Bullets, bandaids, and beans.

When you have all those — nickels, silver, and gold!

My favorite test what posted in 2009.

https://reinkefaceslife.com/2009/10/09/money-pirates-chest/

And the answer is still the same — gold is better than anything else.

CLOUD: EDITORIALLY closes

Sunday, February 16, 2014

Goodbye

Today brings some sad news: Editorially is closing its doors. The application will remain available until May 30, at which point the site will go offline. We encourage all users to export their data.

We’re proud of the team and tool that we built together and incredibly thankful that so many of you were willing to give it a try. And we continue to believe that evolving the way we collaborate as writers and editors is important work. But Editorially has failed to attract enough users to be sustainable, and we cannot honestly say we have reason to expect that to change.

We wish that were not the case — we’ve spent much of the past two years working on the hypothesis that the reverse was true — but today we must be honest with ourselves, and with you: this isn’t going to work.

We know many of you have spent time and energy making Editorially a tool you use every day, even going so far as to evangelize it to your friends and colleagues. For that: thank you. We’re sincerely sorry to have let you down.

You can’t depend upon the cloud. Even if you pay for it.

Argh!

INTERESTING: Loss of a “friend”

On the Loss of a Friend

*** begin quote ***

My old friend Ambrose has died.

*** and ***

We have two younger cats now—I think that they kept the Old Guy alive longer by annoying him and stirring up his circulation—but I will miss my Ambrose as I have missed no other, possibly excepting Eris. I am no “animal lover” per se. I am a hunter (like Ambrose), an enthusiastic meat-eater (also like Ambrose), and PETA’s worst nightmare in the flesh, an articulate, widely-published, and outspoken opponent of the idiotic concept of animal rights. But Ambrose was my friend.

And now he’s gone.

And I’m not sure I feel any better.

*** end quote ***

I have “lost” many people and one pet. I don’t think I could express it as well.

Guess that’s why he’s a “writer” and I’m a “wanna be”?

Crow is “smarter” than most humans?

My question is was this a “trained” bird. Or had it just done it several times?

RANT: Making it up as we go?

Thursday, February 13, 2014

Obama Delays Health-Insurance Requirement for Some Employers
A batch of employers won’t face a fine next year if they fail to provide health insurance to their workers, the Obama administration said Monday.

In regulations outlining the Affordable Care Act, the Treasury Department said employers with between 50 and 99 full-time workers won’t have to comply with the law’s requirement to provide insurance or pay a fee until 2016.

Companies with 100 workers or more could avoid penalties in 2015 if they showed they were offering coverage to at least 70% of their full-time workers, Treasury said.

POLITICAL: “New” Federal “Rights”

Same-Sex Spouses to Get New Federal Rights

The Obama administration will give same-sex couples who are legally married the same status as other married couples in federal legal matters—including bankruptcy proceedings, prisoner visitation and death benefits for slain police officers, Attorney General Eric Holder said.

The Justice Department, Mr. Holder said, would issue new instructions to its employees on Monday to extend the same protections historically afforded to heterosexual married couples. He made the announcement at a speech in New York to the Human Rights Campaign, a major gay-rights advocacy group.

Excuse me, but “rights” don’t come from the Gooferment!

“Rights”, which the Gooferment grants, can be taken away just as quickly!

Argh!

RANT: Debt Ceiling; what joke!

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

House Votes to Suspend Debt Ceiling Until March 2015
The House voted to suspend the nation’s borrowing limit until March 16, 2015, without any policy conditions, a tactical retreat by Republicans stymied by their internal divisions.

The bill cleared the House in a 221-201 vote, relying on the support of a majority of Democrats and pushing the next debate over the issue until after the 2014 midterm elections. Most Republicans opposed the debt-ceiling suspension, which came to the floor without any of the policy proposals they hoped would sweeten its sting for conservatives.

The measure now heads to the Democratic-controlled Senate, where leaders have expressed optimism it will soon pass.

A sad result, but good for the homeowner.

This is the second effect of the RKBA!

The primary reason is to keep the Gooferment, politicians, and bureaucrats in check.
