ECONOMICS: Bitcoin is the perfect vehicle for retirement?

Bitcoin Is The New Retirement Strategy

  • Secure in custody and monetary policy, Bitcoin is the retirement asset capable of withstanding the challenges of the future.

Robert Hall  —   Aug 17, 2022

*** begin quote ***

Bitcoin is the perfect vehicle for retirement for a variety of reasons. The first is that it is designed to appreciate into perpetuity. There are only 21 million coins that will ever be produced. This is called an inelastic supply. This means that as demand for bitcoin goes up, the price of bitcoin will also go up due to the scarcity of the supply. Did you know that there have been an estimated three million coins lost, so the total supply will be closer to 18 million by the time the last coin is produced in the year 2140?

The inelastic supply of Bitcoin is exactly what you want to see in a retirement fund asset. Investing your retirement savings in Bitcoin will secure your future retirement needs to the point where you can live comfortably.

Bitcoin is the perfect retirement vehicle because you are in control of your assets and not the bank or some assets manager. Believe it or not, neither of these actors have your financial interests at heart. Banks and asset managers are in the business of making money for their business and themselves. This means there are a bunch of hidden fees that you have to pay them to manage your money. This hides the actual cost of saving your money with a bank, and they will go to great lengths to ensure you don’t fully understand all the fees. These entities want to take your money and for you to shut up.

*** end quote ***

At risk of being annoying, I’d suggest you take the time to read this short article.

Now with the Gooferment inflating the currency by more than 2% per year, the purchasing power of your savings diminishes proportionally.

I can remember penny candy, nickel cigars, and 30¢ a gallon gass. What has changed since the 1960’s? It is the value of a dollar. AKA the purchasing power of a dollar.

In the days before FDR took the USA off the gold standard, prices always declined. After that, because the Gooferment printed more money, prices always went up.

Before FDR, folks could save cash money (i.e., gold and silver coins) for their old age. After FDR, hold “cash” was a losing proposition.

This article recommends that you youngsters save some of your wealth in bitcoins. He even goes so far as to fore go putting that wealth into an IRA to keep it away from Gooferment rules — now and in the future.

I’ve always been a fan of “averaging into any investment” unless there was a strong reason not to. For my generation, IRAs and 401ks made perfect sense. But then, there were a lot of strategies that were good for “us” that I wouldn’t recommend (i.e., go to work for the Gooferment or a big company and stay there for 50 years to draw a pension).

No one can tell you what is right for you. Even me. Our advice is based on our experience. Like a buggy whip maker telling his children that the family buggy whip business has a great future.

All I am suggesting is to read this article and lots of other ones. Then place your bets on what’s best for you.

If you want to chat, fine. If you want to just ignore this, that’s fine too.

As always YMMV,

When I wrote this in August of 2022, I was convinced that the economy was going down due to the “value of the dollar”.  Nothing has changed my mind about the trajectory.  When the world “de-dollarizes”, then inflation will rocket up on steroids.

“For those looking for security, be forewarned that there’s nothing more insecure than a political promise.” – Harry Browne

Remember when Social Security was to be tax-free?  The Heritage Foundation found that many workers paying into the program end up with a negative annual rate of return, somewhere between minus –0.04 and –14.53 percent depending on one’s age. Younger workers with the most years to pay into the system and groups with below-average lifespans are the ones who have the poorest returns, a Heritage Foundation official says.

Your “investment” in Social Security may well return ZERO!

  • A reminder (inadequately supplied by Oppenheimer) of what happened at the other end of the bomb in Hiroshima. Based on my visit. Excerpted from my book Atomic Cover-up.

In the northwestern corner of the Peace Park, amid a quiet grove of trees, the earth suddenly swells. It is not much of a mound – only about ten feet high and sixty feet across. Unlike most mounds, however, this one is hollow, and within it rests the greatest concentration of human residue in the world.

POLITICAL: RFK Jr. is a liberal democrat; hence his remedies

How to Restore America’s Middle Class

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Aug 1, 2023

*** begin quote ***

I grew up during the heyday of American economic prosperity. It was in the 1950s and 1960s that the archetype of the American Dream was born. It was not something available only to a lucky few; it was within the reach of most Americans. Yes, some were left out, notably African-Americans and Native Americans, but for a golden moment we all believed that we would someday soon eradicate poverty in those communities too, and usher in an age of universal prosperity.

The middle class won’t recover overnight, but here are some of the things I’ll do as President to improve the lives of the middle segment of society.

*** end quote ***

I’d like to refute his specific prescriptions from little L libertarian pov.

“Renegotiate free trade agreements and impose compensatory tariffs on imports from low-wage countries.”

Tarriffs are a tax on “We, The Sheeple”.  A better suggestion would be to End The Fed from whence all bad things economically come.

“Rein in military spending.”

Again End The Fed which allows the Congress to borrow and spend. End the Warfare State and we don’t “need” a huge “military budget” which is a payoff to the Military Industrial Complex who in turn pay off the politicians and bureaucrats.

“Cut healthcare costs with Medicare-for-all, restrict pharmaceutical companies’ profiteering, and redirect a portion of medical research toward inexpensive natural, holistic, and alternative therapies.”

We don’t need more welfare.  Put the patients aback in charge by implementing a copay.  That how insurance companies moderate demand.  Eventually push the true cost completely to the consumer.  Break up the large corporations into smaller competitive units.

“Implement some form of student debt relief. Allow student debt to be dischargeable in bankruptcy. Cut interest rates on student loans to zero.”

Kill Sallie Mae and all the GSEs that encourage irational debt.  Make the schools liable for their “product” and their sales techniques. It was used on the for profit “education” mills.

“Raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour – about the level it was in 1968 – which will raise the floor on all wages and return a share of productivity growth back to workers.”

Zero is the correct minimum wage.  It would allow the poor minorities who are screwed by a bad “education lobby” to begin to climb the ladder to success. Never saw a “poor plumber”.

“Close loopholes and tighten enforcement against illegal corporate union-busting activity. The NLRB and Department of Justice must take vigorous action to enforce the letter and the spirit of the law.”

Close the loopholes where large corporations prevent competition by “lawfare”, “intellectual property”, and media manipulation.  Use the tax code to: (1) limit the size of corporation buy limiting their top line size; and (2) change the CEO and all corporate types comp :(1) from cash  — no one’s salary should be larger than the Presidents  — to their corporate bonds laddered over some number of decades (like Wall Street does vesting bonus over years to keep employees in “golden handcuffs”).  This would change the focus on “quarterly earnings” to long term fiscal stability (i.e., why should past managements get take the loot and walks away from the disaster they leave behind).

Sorry but RFK Jr. is a liberal democrat who sees Gooferment as the answer.  Us little L libertarians see the Gooferment as the problem.

TECHNOLOGY: What does the “public” get for its copyright?

Saturday, August 5, 2023

Disney to Cease Releasing Physical Media in Certain Countries
Chris Braly  — July 28, 2023

*** begin quote ***

The problem with this shift, is that it allows media companies offering digital versions the ability to make edits and changes to the original material, sometimes subtly, sometimes, clumsily, and sometimes stealthily. Disney also happens to be one of the most egregious offenders of this, editing everything from Daryll Hannah’s bum in Splash, to removing dialogue from Academy Award winner The French Connection.

*** end quote ***

It seems that once again “We, The Sheeple” are getting the shaft.

“We” extend copyrights to content creators to encourage making content available.

BUT, (and there is always a BIG butt), “We, The Sheeple” don’t get access to the content we are protecting.

Reasonable people may disagree but taking “copyrighted content” back in a vault is not in the spirit of copyright law.

As with most little L libertarians, copyrights and intellectual property is on shaky ground to start with and now should definitely be revisited.

EVLYNN: Good thing she had unexplainable “disappering” platelets

Thursday, August 3, 2023
https://www.thedriftmag.com/the-bad-patient/?utm_source=join1440

I read this and I understand the frustration of a “patient” and their caregivers when there are no answers.  Evy and I never met a hematologist that didn’t have a theory about what was her problem.  I used to joke that “we’ve seen  EIGHT hematologists and got NINE opinions, but ZERO solutions.”  Wasn’t trying to be funny!  I tried to keep the records but unfortunately I focused on “the numbers”.  I should have been capturing her journey with all the hurt and frustrations.  Sigh!  I guess there would have been no purpose since as reported in this article; it doesn’t do any good.  Or help anyone struggling with the same issues. Sigh!  Wonder if anyone ever published her journey as a case report.

Another way of putting it is that functional disorders tend to be popularly regarded as — well — fake. Chronic fatigue has been nicknamed “yuppie flu” for a reason. If doctors can’t find a problem, the reasoning goes, then there probably isn’t one. And the line between a “functional disorder” and the simply psychosomatic is thin. In her book on treating people with such disorders, It’s All In Your Head, neurologist Suzanne O’Sullivan notes that IBS is considered by some “a disorder of perception.” Sufferers might be “overly observant of every internal sensation and change in their bowel motions.” By perceiving their symptoms, they conjure them into being. “They are reacting to symptoms that others might dismiss, and those reactions serve to heighten the symptoms and awareness of them,” she writes.

*** and ***

To other people, this line of argument might sound very familiar, something almost worse than simply not being believed. It’s the tone of a doctor who starts to ask you questions you already recognize as the diagnostic criteria for depression or anxiety. The doctor isn’t dismissive. He (or she) believes you feel all the things you feel. You just don’t understand those feelings. And as you insist on your version of events, you feel increasingly conscious of how much more convincing the doctor’s story is. The weird truth is that I still find the psychosomatic explanation of my own troubles vastly more satisfying than what my illness turned out to be. It provides a bad guy: me.

Now in Evy’s case, we KNOW something real was going on and it eventually killed her.  If she didn’t have unexplainable “disappering” platelets, then maybe she too would have been written off as “psychosomatic”.

I have tremendous sympathy for these so called “psychosomatics”, because there is a HUGE gap in humanity’s knowledge and compassion.

Sigh!

HEALTH: Recommend care in getting “vacccinated”!

That being said; there seems to be ton of case reports and evidence that “the Jab” is a big problem.  I don’t know why some people seem to dies from it (i.e., young athletes; people whose cancer was in remission; as well as people who seem to just “die suddenly”).  And, there was some reports out of Europe that saline was substituted in for “vaccine” so as to lower the adverse impact numbers.

I took it because of the recommendation of my cardiologist.  I’m not so sure I’d repeat that based on all the stuff that has been reported.  I’m sending you this so you can make your risk / reward calculation.

It would sure be nice if there was a reliable source, not in the pocket of Big Pharma, that could give us an honest assessment.

Malcolm X assassination witness claims he was never interviewed by cops and heard police ask if gunman was ‘with us’ after they saw supporters beating him

  •     Mustafa Hassan, 84, on Tuesday told a press conference in Manhattan for the first time how he was present when Malcolm X was assassinated in 1965
  •     Hassan said he was never interviewed by police, despite confronting the man who pulled the trigger – Talmadge X Hayer

On my “Conspiracy Theories” meter I’d rate it “4. Plausible”.

I remember in 1965, that Malcolm X was regarded badly in the press and political world.  He was (imho correctly) pointing out the flaws in society (e.e., liberal meddling; the drug war; Viet Nam; racist police; and black poverty).

I wouldn’t be surprised if he was targeted by the powers that be.

Not that I agreed with all that he espoused, but he was an icon.

This assertion, while it MAY be true, comes 58 years too late to be credible.  Again imho.

What we have here is something of true beauty: one government database showing the nonsense in another government database. When leftists say “show me the fraud,” one needs only to do one click — “voters who voted in 2022, who the government tax records note are ineligible.”

In 2024, the leftists are pulling out all the stops. Hundreds of thousands of American voters will wake up in the 90 days before the election with strangers living in their homes, apartment buildings, the local 7-11, or the vacant field. Those are the Trump anti-votes.

EVLYNN: Why was this never mentioned in the 40 years she suffered with juvenile diabetes?

Tuesday, July 25, 2023

Today, we discover the mighty power of oatmeal. Did you know that before there was insulin – there was the “oatmeal cure”?
July 20, 2023
The Oatmeal Cure
Michael Greger, M.D. FACLM, founder of NutritionFacts.org

  • The surprising power of a very unassuming food. This episode features audio from Is Oatmeal Good for People with Diabetes?, How Does Oatmeal Help with Blood Sugars?, and Oatmeal Diet Put to the Test for Diabetes Treatment. Visit the video pages for all sources and doctor’s notes related to this podcast.

*** begin quote ***

The life of many diabetics was saved or prolonged by Carl von Noorden’s oatmeal diet, which he apparently stumbled upon accidentally. Some of his diabetic patients had gastrointestinal issues; so, he put them on oatmeal, and instead of the sugars spilling over into their urine getting worse, they started getting better. He published his findings in 1903, which was received with a great deal of skepticism. But the skeptics were overcome, however, in the following years by the weight of the evidence.

A turning point came when a doctor as notable as James B. Herrick gave it a try. Dr. Herrick is acclaimed for his description of sickle cell anemia, which was originally known as Herrick’s syndrome. When Dr. Herrick began to try out the oatmeal diet on his patients, he was very skeptical, but was astonished by the results. Intense skepticism was how Herrick put it. His first experience in prescribing it was far from encouraging. After taking one or two meals, the patient said, “Doctor, I will die before I taste another spoonful of that oatmeal mush.” And indeed, tragically, she did. Other doctors echoed patient reticence to tolerate so monotonous an equine diet. But in general, Herrick said, he went on to experience little difficulty in putting patients on the oatmeal diet and in keeping them there for a few weeks. And nothing, he reported, was more surprising or more gratifying than the salutary effects he witnessed of the oatmeal diet in diabetes of the young, leading to the 1909 proclamation that no case of juvenile or adolescent diabetes should be deprived of the benefits of the oatmeal cure.

The great Elliott Joslin, founder of the oldest and largest diabetes clinic in the world, described the effects of the oatmeal as sometimes magical, describing the oatmeal cure as an unsolved mystery, referred to back then as one of the greatest puzzles in diabetes. They did have some clues though. They found that animal protein had to be strictly excluded, as it annihilates the favorable action of oatmeal-type diets. They used to use eggs with the oatmeal diet, but they got better results without them.

*** end quote ***

Why was this never mentioned in the 40 years she suffered with juvenile diabetes?

When I heard this episode, I almost drove off the road … … figuratively.

She suffered with the disease for more than 40 years, as did her older brother, and I NEVER EVER heard of read about this.  And, I talked to a lot of “expert endocrinologists” and did tons of reading.

Argh!

Pardon my French, but WTF!

She even like oatmeal and had is occasionally,  She was told moderation because it was “bad” and would elevate her blood sugar.

I wish I could get my hands on ALL the “diabetes docs” that treated her.  Maybe I shouldn’t wish that because I’m sure I’d charged with assault and maybe homicide.

Argh!

After Covid, I had little respect for “medical experts”.  They were a bunch of dupes and quacks.   Now, if possible, my trust level has dropped even further.

I’d have been better off with a Shaman, witch doctor, or a practitioner of Chinese herbal medicine!  At least, they were honestly trying what they knew best and didn’t pretend.

Argh!

Both she and her brother spent time in the care of the Joslin clinic, and never heard about oatmeal!

Argh!

I am so upset and there’s not a thing I can do about it.

The characters that spell out oubaitori represent four different trees that bloom in Japan in the spring: cherry, apricot, peach, and plum. Each tree blooms in its own way and in its own time, and each bears a distinct flower and fruit. Oubaitori as a concept grows out of this arboreal image and refers to the idea of avoiding the habit of comparing yourself to others and embracing your unique journey and timeline instead.

Theodore Roosevelt (another appreciator of Japanese culture) famously said, “Comparison is the thief of joy.” Boy, was he right. I’ve noticed that I tend to get most down in the dumps when I start measuring my success against the success of others. Whenever I start doing that, I just remind myself to practice oubaitori. The word serves as a trigger to shift my focus away from others and back to my own path.

Hmmm, my own path?  I’m not sure I have one.  Or, ever had one.  More like adrift on raft at sea.

Sigh!

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Recognize that LBJ’s Great Society absolutely destroyed the black family

How The ‘Great Society’ Destroyed The Nuclear Family Structure In One Chart
by Tyler Durden  — Sunday, Jul 16, 2023 – 02:00 PM

*** begin quote ***

Who destroyed the American family?

The argument can be made that the Great Society programs initiated the destruction of the nuclear family structure. The blame starts with President Lyndon B. Johnson’s set of domestic programs in the mid-1960s that were used to fight ‘poverty’ but only discouraged work and destabilized families.

*** and ***

First, the US has the highest rate of single-parent households in the world. Second, the connection between single-parent households and crime is very strong. According to research carried out by Jerrod Brown, a behavioral specialist at Concordia St. Paul, the extant literature “suggests that children raised in single-parent households experience more physical and psychological problems compared to those raised in two-parent households.” Moreover, he added, the “implications of homes in which fathers are absent may be important to explore for criminal justice and mental health professionals.”

Maybe this whole Great Society experiment has gone terribly wrong. Let’s try something different. Maybe bring back the family unit and dial back welfare programs.

I remember Malcom X’s quote: “… … It has turned out that it’s Johnson in the White House-and black votes were a major factor in his winning as decisively as he wanted to. If it had been Goldwater, all I am saying is that the black people would at least have known they were dealing with an honestly growling wolf, rather than a fox who could have them half-digested before they even knew what was happening.”  — Malcolm X, The Autobiography of Malcolm X

LBJ delivered a knock out blow to the black family and fooled the black into think he was “looking out for them”.

While I may not like Malcom X’s politics, he was often right!

VOCABULARY: Never heard this one before “double-bun boulevard”

The issue here lies in what the policy is and if the boss isn’t pulling these requirements out of double-bun boulevard. So, this Redditor suggested checking the policy on lunch breaks and getting to the bottom of it. OP, however, doubts there’s one to begin with.

Very funny and polite way of saying “he pulled it out of his AQQ” or made it up on the fly.

POLITICAL:Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is certainly has the UNIPARTY shaking in their boots

RFK Jr. Announces Bold Plan to Back Dollar With Bitcoin, End Bitcoin Taxes

Speaking at a Heal-the-Divide PAC event, Democratic Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. outlined specific Bitcoin-focused policies that he would enact as president, including gradually backing the U.S. dollar with bitcoin and making bitcoin profits exempt from capital gains taxes.

 # – # – # – # – #

Well RFKjr is certainly not a “libertarian”, but he is impressive on a lot of the issues I care about: WWW3 / Ukraine, dismantling the Deep State particularly the CIA, opposing the Central Bank Digital Currency, maybe ending the FED, and prosecuting the villains responsible for the COVID19 pandemic. He is certainly shaking up the UNIPARTY like DJT45 does and moving the Overton window of “allowable opinions”. Only Tucker Carlson has had a more dramatic impact on the 2024 Presidential election by “killing RINOs”.

Pass the popcorn,

This HAS to be good for Joe Sixpack and the rest of us.

HEROIC: Carnegie Medal is awarded to civilians who put their lives in danger in attempt to save another

All His Training Pays Off: Slackliner Wins Carnegie Medal for Ski Lift Rescue Over Cables

By Andy Corbley – Jul 14, 202

*** begin quote ***

Hard part done, the backpack was so far extended under the chairlift that Wilson couldn’t even reach it. That’s when a ski patrol tossed him a knife which he caught first time (wearing ski gloves? who knows) and cut the man free, who was rushed to the hospital and made a full recovery.

The Carnegie Medal is awarded to civilians who put their lives in danger in attempt to save another. Wilson was recently announced as the winner among other heroes, despite his rescue taking place 6 years ago.

Read some of the other stories of the “non-winners”.  I never heard of ANY of these heroic acts being reported in the “Lame Street Media”.

Stunning.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Why Vaccines are Treated Differently

Why Vaccines are Treated Differently from Other Products
By Victor Fernandez

*** begin quote ***

Attorney Aaron Siri of the Informed Consent Action Network (ICAN) who has worked a great deal on vaccine-related issues like vaccine injury claims, vaccine exemptions and vaccine policy work, gave testimony to the Arizona State Senate on May 25th. His impressive two-hour presentation sought to answer the question: How can this system that people rely on fail us so badly? But to understand the failure is to understand the context within which the new vaccines arose. We need to understand what happened 37 years ago.

In 1986, Congress passed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (HR5546). This is an historic act because it removed liability for childhood injury vaccines. Removing liability tends to alter the behavior of entities that benefit. Indeed, it turned out that pharmaceutical companies were no longer liable for injuries caused by their products. That has been the law since 1986.

Attorney Siri says that he knows of no other product that has that kind of immunity. Not planes nor drugs. But since 1986, big pharma has not had any market force check of any significance. “Think of all the products out there that warrant safety precautions, and the one you give immunity to is the one you give to babies. Think about that.”

*** end quote ***

STUNNING!

Time to repeal that law and hold Big Pharma accountable for its products.

Argh!

Europe doesn’t allow advertising.

We should NOT allow doctors to profit from Big Pharma “bribes”.

The system is corrupt; time to address it.

In the meanwhile, question authority!

POLITICAL: Maybe the right little L libertarian could slip in?

Democrats freaking out about potential third-party presidential spoiler

Commentary By Editorial Board – The Washington Times – Friday, July 14, 2023

*** begin quote ***

No Labels insists there’s a path forward for a third-party candidate, citing a recently conducted poll where an independent candidate, on the ballot with Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden, starts the race with 21% support. The group insists it would be able to increase that base into a winning margin and not be a spoiler.

No Labels says its polling shows the public is open to a third-party candidate. According to an NBC News poll last month, 44% of registered voters say they are willing to consider supporting a third-party or independent presidential candidate if Messrs. Biden and Trump are the two major-party nominees in 2024.

No Labels is already on the ballot in five states, and hopes to get on all 50.

*** end quote ***

Perhaps this might be the year, if the D’s split by RFKjr and others, and, the R’s split by the “never trumpets”, then the Libertarian Party which has ballot access in all 50 states just might “win”.   If by “winning”, that it hands the Electoral College and throws the race into the House where each State gets ONE vote.

Pass the popcorn, it should be a hoot!
