YSK: Everyone can be a scientist

Why YSK: Getting an advanced degree in a scientific discipline does not automatically make one a scientist, nor does the absence of such a degree exclude one from making significant contributions to science.

When new evidence demands it, a scientist must be able to question every hypothesis. A scientist’s acceptance of idea must be based on measurable, repeatable findings, which the scientist must disclose with total integrity.

Where the WuFlu is concerned, we all should question every hypothesis.

And the integrity of EVERY politician and bureaucrat who pontificates about it!

Masks?  Rejected — just like chain link fences can keep out mosquitos.

Lockdowns?  Rejected — Stupidly delaying the onset of herd immunity.

RNA “vaccines”?  Rejected — Absurdly untested genetic engineering.

“Vaccines”? Rejected — these are NOT what we know as vaccines.

Mask compliance? Rejected — it is about “control”; not health.

Argh!

I understand that you are unable to find an option to sort the contents of a note, and if it is not possible, you want to know why it isn’t.

In Evernote, you can sort your notes but not its contents. This feature is not yet built in the Evernote app. However, thank you for sharing this good idea with us. It’s super valuable in helping us build the best Evernote we can. I’ve gone ahead and made note of this for our development team. While we can’t commit to getting all feature requests into the product, we do rely on our community to tell us what they’d like to see in the future. There’s probably no substitute better than just watching the 3m 27s long video as it runs through how the macaque monkey is playing Pong without a joystick.

But in case you don’t want to click or watch or engage, here’s the outline on what’s going on from The Verge: 

Pager, a 9-year-old macaque monkey, had a Neuralink implanted about six weeks before the video was shot, the video’s unnamed narrator says.

  • He was first taught to play video games with a joystick for a banana smoothie reward, delivered through a metal straw. 
  • While he was doing this, the Neuralink device recorded information about which neurons were firing — learning, essentially, to predict hand movements by recording which regions fired. After learning the patterns, the joystick Pager used to play was disconnected from the computer. 
  • The monkey appears to go on playing the game using only his mind — playing a game of Pong with no joystick whatsoever.

I’m tired of ranting about inflation. 

Just do a search on the blog for “three silver dimes” and you’ll see some of my best examples (i.e., the Roman’s cloak, penny candy, 1968 gas prices).

It all comes down to the politicians and bureaucrats having an incentive for silent taxes.  If some Gooferment goon came in every year and seized 2% of your wealth (i.e., 2/100ths of your house), then you’d understand.

I don’t know what I can write that will make the point of inflation is due to the FED. (The Federal Reserve Bank is a misnomer. IT ain’t “federal”. It reserves nothing. And, it ain’t a “bank”. It is a private cartel of the elite banks run for their benefit and that of the entrenched politicians.)

Sure the rich, the elite, politicians, and bureaucrats love inflation.

It’s a racket.

A New Force of Nature

An experiment two decades in the making has provided strong evidence that the current theory describing the universe’s fundamental forces is incomplete, suggesting the existence of a fifth force currently unknown to science. 

The experiments, carried out at Illinois’ Fermilab, focused on subatomic particles known as muons—basically fat but short-lived electrons. Magnetic measurementsconfirmed, with much higher precision, tantalizing previous 2001 results that the particles’ properties deviate slightly from theoretical predictions. Scientists think the anomaly may come from an unknown interaction with the quantum foam—a sea of virtual particles perpetually popping in and out of existence. 

The chance of a fluke was calculated at around 0.0025%. If correct, the finding may suggest physics beyond the Standard Model—the theoretical framework that describes all known elementary particles but still faces a number of challenges (like explaining gravity).

In a letter to Biden on Tuesday, the nine organizations argued the May 1 deadline “presents the best opportunity any president over the past twenty years has faced to end America’s longest ever war.”

“On behalf of our membership and veterans across the country who have answered the call to serve our country, we urge you to honor the sacrifices our troops and their families are willing to make on America’s behalf by not asking our women and men in uniform to remain entangled in a conflict with no clear military mission or path to victory,” the groups wrote in the letter obtained by The Hill. “Our members are proud of their service, but they know it is long past time for America to come home from Afghanistan.”
