POLITICAL: Reaction to SCOTUS on same sex “marriage”

Monday, June 29, 2015

http://survivalblog.com/letter-re-a-dark-day-for-america-by-hjl/

Dear Survival Blog,

Thank you for such a great service as Survival Blog. I am writing to comment on the above captioned article the Blog posted on June 27, 2015.

The problem we have is 501c3 tax exempt status, that is, a tax exempt certification issued by the IRS to the Church in exchange for surrendering certain freedoms. The freedoms surrendered are listed in IRS Publication 1828 on page five. This publication is freely available to anyone with an Internet connection. Everyone should read it and understand it for themselves. The publication title is “Rules for Churches.” Rule five on page five states that the Church cannot “violate fundamental public policy”. After yesterday’s Supreme Court decision, do I need to point out whether homosexual marriage is now a “fundamental public policy” of the United States? Do I need to spell out what the future holds for all “government registered” churches?

So why have very nearly ALL churches in America registered with the IRS (see IRS Pub 78) and surrendered their freedom to preach the Gospel? I can tell you why. It’s to get that last little bit of tax exemption, that last little bit of money, namely the ability of the attendees to deduct their church contributions. That’s it. We gave it ALL away for a little bit more money. The Church itself was never taxed, and can never be taxed so long as the First Amendment of the Constitution still stands.

Let me state it this way; if the Church at large was not registered and therefore beholden to the government, would we be having a vigorous debate in this nation about God’s laws regarding sexual deviancy and the utter corruption of the family through government mandates? I think we would because the Church would be FREE to do so, and in keeping with its duty under the Great Commission, it would do so vigorously. Instead, we have the Supreme Court and politicians for gods.

Okay. So how to fix it? UNREGISTER. Throw off the chains, stand up in freedom, and speak the truth to power. It would cost us though. Standing with the Maker of all things always does.

We need to face this. This is us. We did this, or at least allowed it. We need to get ourselves free again and then fight this evil from a position of strength, not beholden to any government except God’s.

That’s my piece. Thanks for providing your email address, and keep up the good work of the Survival Blog. – D.F.

#####

This is an interesting reaction.

But will the “churches” give up the tax advantage? Will their “parishioners” put their money where their mouths are?

Or will everyone cave to “inertia” and the “cant’ fight city hall” mentality.

Personally, as a little l libertarian, I find Gooferment “licenses” for anything appalling. The fact that you have to seek permission from any group to exercise your fundamental rights is abhorrent.

So how will “We, The Sheeple” react?

What’s on the latest reality show? How is “my” sports collective doing? Is there a shortage of beer and pizza?

THey won’t see the problem sadly until they are being loaded on the trains!

Molon Labe.

Can’t wait to be in New Hampshire.

EXPOSED Rand Paul’s Call for a Value Added Tax (In addition to a Flat Personal Income Tax)

*** begin quote ***

Much focus has been put on Rand Paul’s call yesterday for a 14.5% flat personal income tax. The reporting often stops there, As in: The tax would be 14.5% across the board flat personal income tax, down from as much as 40%, but there is much more to the story,

In addition, to the flat personal income tax, Rand, in his WSJ op-ed that revealed his plan, also called for a value added tax on top of the flat personal tax.

*** end quote ***

That’s the end of Rand Paul’s candidacy for me.

Remember the income tax was originally supposed to replace all tariffs.

And for FOUR years there were no tariffs.

Then BANG! Tariffs were reimposed.

No new taxes. No shell games to give “District of Corruption” more spending money.

Argh!

Rand is NOTHING like his Dad Ron.

Is Third World America Inevitable?
By Patrick J. Buchanan
June 18, 2015

*** begin quote ***

Writes Coulter, “Roe v. Wade can be overturned. Obamacare can be repealed. Amnesty is forever.”

Anyone concerned for the future of this country as one nation and one people should find a candidate who will commit to secure the border, enforce immigration laws against businesses that hire illegal immigrants, and pledge no amnesty for the duration of their presidency.

*** end quote ***

This “immigration” is nothing more than a “Democratic” party’s attempt to pack the ballot box forever in their favor.

And, the key issue is the “welfare state”.

As long as we have a “social safety net” and the “(pseudo) War on (some) Drugs”, immigration will be a problem.

We need all the hands and brains that come here to work and create. We don’t need more takers and criminals.

The “Republican” party is complicit because they think that cheap labor is good for their donors.

Both “parties” are wrong.

The “welfare / warfare” empire will collapse like all empires on a funeral pyre of paper money.

Argh!

Glad I’m too old to see the result.

POLITICAL: Off-Grid Living Illegal

Another Court In The U.S. Has Ruled Off-Grid Living Illegal
Written by: Daniel Jennings Current Events June 16, 2015

*** begin quote ***

Green living and sustainable energy are encouraged in Huntsville, Alabama, just as long as you do not practice such an off-grid life within the city limits.

Marine veteran Tyler Truitt discovered that the hard way when the city condemned his off-grid retreat because he chose not to use city utilities – and a judge subsequently upheld the city’s decision.

This year he installed solar panels in the front yard, a composting toilet in the trailer, and placed a 550-gallon plastic tank outside his trailer home to catch rainwater. But the city said he can’t live that way, and it has placed a yellow “unsafe building” sticker on the outside of the trailer.

The home sits on two acres of land at the end of a road.

*** and ***

“The purpose behind these requirements is public safety,” Kelly Schrimsher, the communications director for Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, told Al.com. “This includes ensuring that occupants of a residential dwelling have safe, potable, running water and electricity, particularly in the wintertime. The city has posted the property as ‘Unsafe’ for this reason.”

The city of Huntsville owns Huntsville Utilities.

“We encourage green environmental living, and we request interested citizens go through proper channels,” Schrimsher said. “Our departments stand ready and willing to guide them through theappropriate permitting process.”

*** end quote ***

What a coincidence!

The gang, claiming the title ‘City of Huntsville’, controls the Gooferment and just happens to own the utilities.

No conflict of interest there.

And, who owns the land?

The “owner” or the “city”?

Argh!

Hope the fellow can stand his ground.

POLITICAL: How Americans perceive “war”

Nazis on the Backlot
How Hollywood has changed our perception of war
BY PHILIP GIRALDI • MAY 26, 2015

*** begin quote ***

Memorial Day used to be a somber occasion, dedicated to reflection and remembrance of those killed in America’s wars. Today it is instead a celebration of ongoing wars, a long shopping weekend and the unofficial start of summer. Part of the problem with America’s shifting perception of the price to be paid when one goes to war is that it has been shaped by Hollywood and video games, so much so that it has become divorced from the horrible reality of what happens when countries and peoples do their best to kill each other.

*** and ***

My point is that when Americans think of war they think of something heroic and relatively painless unless you are somehow electrocuted by your PlayStation. There are no bad consequences arising from stomping on Afghans from a control center in Nevada. And if you screw up and kill a wedding party, so what? I am not advocating a salutary invasion of the United States to create an awareness of just how terrible war is, but a little more creative candor from the media, Hollywood and the political class might just help make the public think twice before it goes into that voting booth to pull the handle for Ted Cruz or Jeb Bush. Or Hillary.

*** end quote ***

“WAR is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.” –Major General Smedley Butler

Gooferment needs war to keep the Crony Capitalists pouring “campaign contributions” into the politicians and bureaucrats.

I have often blamed “giving women the right to vote” for the rise of “organized crime” because they pushed Prohibition and other “Progressive” causes. I add to that they have failed to stop us from going to war so many time.

“Yes, when we get out of here. We’re going to have to fix that. You know we control something that can get it done. Not the ballot box, but the other box. (A giant sucking sound as pure Miss Marie used that very rude idiom.) We can end war.” — character “Marie” being anti-war in CHURCH 10●19●62 Volume 1 Page 262

As I’ve aged, I’d like to think I’ve gotten wiser.

And, one topic of growth is about the wars.

I don’t understand why “We, The Sheeple” can NOT wake up and see the rows of graves and ask “Why?”

You can trace it back to brainwashing, propaganda, and Gooferment Skrules.

It’s rooted in the FED printing press money that allows the Welfare / Warfare state to spend without restraint. (One reason for the FED was so that Gooferment could spend money without having to forcibly extract it from the people.)

SO how do we roll this back and put Gooferment back in avery small cage?

Have to end the FED. Have to end Gooferment Skrules. Have to bring all the girls and boys home now.

Be more like Switzerland.

Secession is the key. Just like the USSR imploded, so to will the USA.

Argh! Not going to happen in my lifetime.

POLITICAL: The relentless dishonesty of modern Democrats

What’s Behind the Collapse of Baltimore
Sunday, 17 May 2015 10:13 AM
By Newt Gingrich

*** begin quote ***

As Archbishop of Baltimore William Lori points out, the Catholic schools cost $6,000 a year and have a 99 percent graduation rate. Yet the Democrats are committed to locking poor children out of those schools if it takes a dime away from funds for failing, unionized public schools.

With school choice policies, we could save children’s lives while saving money. Instead the left wing unions and bureaucracies ruthlessly exploit children, ruining their lives while the Democratic leadership in the Maryland House blocks school choice bills that would give children a chance to attend better schools and would force schools to compete for students by actually being good schools.

There is no greater example of the relentless dishonesty of modern Democrats than their willingness to destroy children’s lives while blaming others. President Obama could quit blaming Fox News and simply demand school choice (which of course he opposes) and he would radically improve the lives of millions of trapped poor children.

*** end quote ***

I have always liked Newt’s brains. His morals cost him the Presidency.

But read this article and he factually pounds home the immoral, ineffective, and inefficient government by one party.

It’s hard to imagine the lives that have been lost, the possibilities missed, and the trees lost by the terrible Gooferment Skrules.

Further, after ending the Fed, I can’t think of a more important step to improve America than to Separate Education and the State.

We wouldn’t think of the Gooferment running food so why do we let it “ruin” Education and Health Insurance?

Argh!

School Bans Teen From Flying American Flag. Quickly Regrets It.
By Hunter Roosevelt on May 14, 2015

*** begin quote ***

Peyton Robinson, a senior at York Comprehensive High School in South Carolina, was flying an American flag and a POW-MIA flag on the back of his truck – until the school took them off his truck

*** and ***

The community has rallied around Robinson and his flags and staged a demonstation. As many as 70 cars full of students and adults arrived at the school with people waving flags along the street.

*** and ***

Under overwhelming public outcry, the school gave in. An announcement on the school district says:

Due to the outstanding display of patriotism through peaceful demonstration, it is apparent to us that many are not happy about this policy. School officials have reviewed the standing policy regarding flags and have decided that an exception will be made for the American flag, as long as the size of the flag(s) does not create a driving hazard.

*** end quote ***

So now the Gooferment Skrules are the traffic police. How do they determine it creates “a driving hazard”? Ask the drivers ed teacher!

Argh!

Close the Gooferment Skrules. Defund the Department of Education. And, return the education of children to their parents. And, btw, the parents had ‘em, let them pay to educate them.

Bet all those international measures of education for the USA compared to the world get blown off the scales.

There’s a reason that homeschoolers rock!

Michigan Voters Smash Tax Hike Referendum
By Gary North

*** begin quote ***

Proposal 1 suffered the worst defeat Tuesday of any Michigan ballot measure since the current Constitution was adopted more than a half-century ago, as 80 percent of voters rejected the sales tax increase and road funding plan. . . .

*** and ***

Saginaw County businessman Paul Mitchell set up an opposition group and began lambasting the proposal for directing $700 million to areas unrelated to repairing roads, such as education, cities, public transit and an expanded tax break for the working poor.

Mitchell called the non-road spending a “a $700 million toll to special interests,” defining the issue before the “yes” campaign could respond on the airwaves.

Nice to see that the Michigan voters ain’t buying the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association, representing road builders, $5.4 million Safe Roads Yes propaganda.

*** begin quote ***

The innocent working families of all backgrounds whose lives and dreams have been cut short by excessive violence, surveillance, and other abuses of the Bill of Rights by government pay the true price, an ultimate price, and one that far exceeds the importance of any kids’ game played tonight, or ever, at Camden Yards. We need to keep in mind people are suffering and dying around the U.S., and while we are thankful no one was injured at Camden Yards, there is a far bigger picture for poor Americans in Baltimore and everywhere who don’t have jobs and are losing economic civil and legal rights, and this makes inconvenience at a ball game irrelevant in light of the needless suffering government is inflicting upon ordinary Americans.”

*** end quote ***

Wow. that’s a pretty damning indictment of the current Gooferment and the policies of the last 30 years.

When you think of the “Rust Belt” and the demise of the American auto industry, that’s the exemplar of what this is saying.

It can’t be “corrected”. Anymore than you can hold back the tides.

But the Gooferment, with its Crony Capitalism, feathering the nest of politicians and bureaucrats, and all the other abuses, has finally killed the “goose that lays the golden eggs”.

Do we have to be like the alcoholic, who wakes up face down in a pool of his own fluids, to realize that help is needed?

Apparently so.

Seems like there are some very ugly chickens that have to be dealt with and they problems all start (and possibly end) with Gooferment.

Best we can do is starve the beast into submission. No new taxes, no new fee, no nothing.

Period. End of story.

POLITICAL: Make the FDA advisory, not dictatorial

Saturday, April 25, 2015

https://downsizedc.org/etp/fda/

Make the FDA advisory, not dictatorial.

All too often the FDA has been demonstrated to be in bed with Big Pharma. I believe the term is “regulatory capture”. It’s time to separate medicine and government!

Government’s proper role is prevent force or fraud on its citizens. Hence, the proper role is left to the courts for redress of damages. When government decides what’s “best” for individuals, that far exceeds it’s proper role.

The easiest way to fix this is to take the FDA out of the approval process completely and let the people decide. Since they will bear the brunt of the decision, I’m sure they will do a good job.

When the FDA delays or blocks, the victims have no choices.

That’s not the American way.

POLITICAL: “Balance” means no change?

Friday, April 24, 2015

April 20, 2015
Mr. Ferdinand Reinke
1641 International Dr Unit 414
McLean, VA 22102-4831

Dear Mr. Reinke:

Thank you for contacting me about the National Security Administration (NSA) and the PATRIOT Act. I appreciate hearing from you.

In June 2013 details of two NSA programs were published in the media as a result of leaked confidential documents. News articles indicated that since 2007, under provisions within the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and the PATRIOT Act, the NSA has monitored private communications in an effort to increase national security.

The primary mission of the U.S. intelligence community is to detect and prevent the very real threat of terrorism on our homeland. According to General Keith Alexander, Director of the NSA, and Robert Mueller, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the intelligence community has successfully used these programs to identify and thwart dozens of terrorist plots at home and abroad. Additionally, leaders from the House and Senate Intelligence Committees have defended these programs stating that they are transparent, lawful, and have been instrumental in defending our homeland.

Many have expressed legitimate concerns about the privacy implications of this policy. I believe we must balance the need for privacy with the need to maintain national security. I also believe there needs to be an open discussion about the limits of surveillance and the need for transparency.

In December 2013 the President’s Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies issued a report on “Liberty and Security in a Changing World.” The report recommended forty-six changes to our national surveillance programs, some executive and some legislative. In response to the report, in January 2014 President Obama announced a series of executive reforms, including the development of a blueprint for consumer privacy in the digital age, a commitment to declassify certain court opinions, and changes in the bulk collection of phone data.

On July 29th, 2014 Senator Patrick Leahy reintroduced legislation, the USA FREEDOM Act, to end bulk collection of the telephone records of Americans, to reform the Federal Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC), and to improve transparency. On November 18th, 2014 a vote to begin debate on this measure failed to receive the 60 votes required to cut off a filibuster; the vote was 58-42. The updated legislation would have required the government to narrowly limit and define surveillance targets, enhanced transparency and reported how many individuals – including U.S. citizens – have had their information collected. On March 19th, 2015 Representative Mark Pocan introduced the Surveillance State Repeal Act, also designed to improve transparency and reform the targeting and surveillance of individuals.

I will continue to closely monitor future proposals and will work to ensure that efforts to improve our national security also protect constitutional rights in a balanced way. Thank you once again for contacting me about this important matter.

Sincerely,

Signature

Tim Kaine

POLITICAL: Prefer Entrepreneurs and Business over Gooferment politicians and bureaucrats

A BUSY MONDAY
Posted on April 21, 2015 by keywestlou

*** begin quote ***

Monday’s E-Blast carried an article re the Waterfront brewery remodeling. The property is city owned. It is being remodeled for the two tenants who will be occupying. A brewery and restaurant.

My concern is with over costs/over runs. Everything Key West does construction wise, involves the taxpayers getting hit with additional costs for alleged unexpected problems. The brewery thus far has run into two. An additional cost of $64,000. Not much, but more.

Over costs seem to occur on every type construction Key West is involved in. Sometimes in the millions. I never ran into this situation in other areas. Key Wet calls them unexpected. I call them a series of screw ups by the city in not properly investigating and/or discovering the work initially.

Key West never seems to learn.

*** end quote ***

And you should ask “why is the Gooferment in the property business at all?”

Entrepreneurs, risking their own capital, will do a much better job.

Think Donald Trump and NYC Central Park’s Wollman Ice Skating Rink!

Hillary Clinton: Class President Of A Failed Generation
By David Stockman
David Stockman’s Corner
April 17, 2015

*** begin quote ***

Their job was to have at least the vision of Warren G. Harding. After all, he did demobilize the US war machine completely, eschewed the imperial pretensions of Woodrow Wilson and actually launched a disarmament movement which resulted in the melting down of the world’s navies and the Kellogg-Briand treaty to outlaw war.

Yet the opportunity at the Cold War’s end was even more compelling. There was absolutely no military threat to American security anywhere in the world. The Clintons could have drastically reduced the defense budget by mothballing much of the navy and air force and demobilizing the army. They should have cancelled all new weapons programs and dismantled the military-industrial complex. They could have declared “mission accomplished” with respect to NATO and made good on Bush’s pledge to Gorbachev to not expand it “by an inch” by actually disbanding it. And, as legatees of 1968, they were positioned to lead a global disarmament movement and to end the arms export trade once and for all.

That was their job—-the unfinished business of peace. But they blew it in the name of political opportunism and failure to recognize that the American public was ready to end the century of war, too.

So they capitulated to the pork barrel politics of the Pentagon, plunged into the lunacy of the Balkan wars, launched the misbegotten project to expanded NATO, failed to bring Iran back into the community of nation’s when its leaders reached out to Washington, and kept America in harm’s way by keeping our war machine in the Persian Gulf and extending the pointless campaign against Saddam Hussein that could only open the gates to hell in Bagdad.

*** end quote ***

I remember the discussion of the “peace dividend” when the USSR broke up. What happened?

Ike was right to warn us of the Military Industrial Complex!

So how does anyone be like Harding? (Who has moved up in my estimation with my being educated about his disarmament stance.)

I think a good start is to —as most good MBAs will assert — is to cut G&A 10% immediately.

That goes along with my wish to cut — a real bottom line cut; not the phoney “District of Corruption” cut to the rate of growth — 1% every year. (At least, until real people scream! Not astroturf people.)

One can only hope.

The income tax is absolutely crazy if one takes a moment to think about it. We’ve become so conditioned to accept it that we don’t even realize how ridiculous it is. Wild words on public subsidies for sports arenas

*** begin quote ***

Far out, man!

That’s my throwback reaction to this morning’s editorial in the Sacramento Bee bearing this headline: “Ditch tax break for pro arenas/ Obama’s budget would end subsidy.”

The headline is so preposterous coming from the Bee that I thought it might be a late April Fools’ joke. This is the same newspaper that led the cheerleading for a huge public subsidy to help build a downtown arena for the Kings and their wealthy owners.

*** and ***

The Bee comes to several astounding realizations about public subsidies for sports arenas and stadiums: they reflect a transfer of money from the nation’s poorest citizens to some of the wealthiest, and they undermine the concept of a level-playing field because the benefits go to a few well-organized and well-funded interests that wield outsized influence with the decision-makers.

*** end quote ***

How did “We, The Sheeple” allow the Gooferment to subsidize “circuses”.

Give us an example of an absurd law that should be taken off the books.

You have people who kill the wrong animal while hunting, use the wrong weapon, or kill some animal on the wrong day — there are a thousand of these things. Catch too many fish, catch the wrong type of fish, catch too big of a fish. They make these people felons. With some 2.3 million U.S. prisoners, what will happen in your view without serious criminal justice reform?

It is an economic catastrophe for this country. It’s unsustainable, and over time, the system will implode. … The states have budgets they have to adhere to. But the federal government just keeps printing money and throwing it into the system.

As a little L libertarian, I rant about the Gooferment being immoral, ineffective, and inefficient!

Here’s yet another convert to the “church” of anti-Gooferment!

There are just too many attempts to legislate the unlegislatable.

No one can follow all the rules, diktat, “laws”, and regulations.

Unless you’re a member of the political class (i.e., Bill and Hillary), then it doesn’t matter.

Argh!

POLITICAL: See “work requirements” shrink the welfare rolls

Maine’s Recommitment to Work Requirements
By Charles Hughes

*** begin quote ***

Last week, the Associated Press reported that more than 9,000 food stamp recipients in Maine have been removed from the program because they failed to comply with the program’s work requirements. These requirements themselves are largely nothing new, but in the years since the recession, almost every state received a waiver exempting them from these provisions. By allowing the waiver to lapse, Maine will again enforce the requirement that able-bodied adults without dependents participate in some form of work activity. These rules only apply to a small fraction of beneficiaries, just 10 percent of Maine’s beneficiaries in 2013. A spokesman for the Maine Department of Health and Human Services revealed that the number of SNAP beneficiaries subject to the reinstated requirements has fallen from roughly 12,000 to 2,680. This is a steep reduction, but relatively small compared to the 250,000 people in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) when the rule change went into effect.

*** and ***

Part of the motivation for this renewed enforcement is to provide a better path for beneficiaries to transition off  the program and back into the mainstream economy. Many beneficiaries are on the program for extended periods of time, and for too many, next to nothing is being done to help them improve their employment prospects during this time. A recent national study found that, over a 56 month period, a full quarter of beneficiaries participated for more than four years. Some of these people are exempt due to disability status or age, but those with the capacity for work are not really helped by a program that leads them to languish for years on the welfare rolls.

The Gooferment is immoral, ineffective, and inefficient!

This just proves is.

IT likes a “plantation of victims” that requires Gooferment bureaucrats to “care for them”.

I remember when Rudy required “welfare takers” to show up for their check. And, how many “ghosts” did that make disappear. The “work requirement” eliminated those working in either the underground or “above ground” economy.

While I think all charity should be private, if for no other reason that they Gooferment shouldn’t be doing it OR they do it so badly, I can “tolerate” if the takers are really not “moochers”.

It’s NOT so hard to tell the difference?

argh!

POLITICAL: Obamacare death spiral?

Thursday, April 2, 2015

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/mar/26/susan-parnell-the-obamacare-death-spiral-may-have-/

*** begin quote ***

According to the Manhattan Institute, premiums climbed by 41 percent on average from 2013 to 2014, and premiums are likely to rise sharply again after two insurance company bailout programs included in Obamacare expire in 2017.

The other sign health insurance markets are in the early stages of a death spiral is the age mix of those buying policies through Obamacare. Originally it was estimated that around 40 percent of enrollees had to be in the relatively healthy 18 to 34-year-old age segment, so their premiums could be used to pay for the health expenses of older, less-healthy enrollees. So far it appears only some 28 percent of enrollees are in that coveted age group, which also comprises around half of the uninsured.
All of this means insurers are getting a risk pool that is less healthy than expected, and more premium hikes are around the corner. While subsidies hide some from the full impact, others in the middle class will not be shielded.

It will undoubtedly take a few years to know for sure, but for anybody concerned about setting off a death spiral or thinking Congress surely didn’t intend to do so, don’t worry. It looks like it’s already here, whether Congress intended it or not.

*** end quote ***

Like Social Security, it’s fiscally unsound — in addition to being immoral, ineffective, and inefficient.

Why Statists — on both the left and right — think that they can ignore the “Laws of Economics” is a mystery to me. Like the time the Louisiana Legislature voted to repeal the “Law of Gravity”! Just because the “laws” of Economics are a little more subtle, doesn’t mean they exist.

In this case, the invisible hand of the free market is going to slap the politicians and bureaucrats upside the head and say “fools”!

Where insurance is virtually unregulated — life insurance for example — it’s cheap, easy to get, and simple. (You die; you get paid!) Across the spectrum of “insurance”, the more regulation, the more expensive. Until you get to “health”, “health care”, “health care insurance”, or something else whatever this is. Most regulated; impossible.

And, this fluff about “pre-existing” conditions, is like being able to buy “fire insurance” after the fire!

Also, the routine heath care tests? That’s like “insuring” your cars oil changes. Makes no sense. Go to Jiffy lube for 30$ (but don’t buy the air filters); “insure” it and the paperwork alone will make it $100 at least.

Argh!

So, because there were some without “insurance”, the liberals decided to fool us into a USSR style system. Argh!

Anyone figure out if “we” just took all the money spent on Obamacare, we could have give every uninsured a Congressional style plan.

But, then they wouldn’t have their power over a seventh of the economy.

Anyone think this is going to work out well?

After a Twelve Year Mistake in Iraq, We Must Just March Home
written by ron paul
sunday march 22, 2015

*** begin quote ***

Twelve years ago last week, the US launched its invasion of Iraq, an act the late General William Odom predicted would turn out to be “the greatest strategic disaster in US history.”

Before the attack I was accused of exaggerating the potential costs of the war when I warned that it could end up costing as much as $100 billion. One trillion dollars later, with not one but two “mission accomplished” moments, we are still not done intervening in Iraq.

President Obama last year ordered the US military back into Iraq for the third time. It seems the Iraq “surge” and the Sunni “Awakening,” for which General David Petraeus had been given much credit, were not as successful as was claimed at the time. From the sectarian violence unleashed by the US invasion of Iraq emerged al-Qaeda and then its more radical spin-off, ISIS. So Obama sent the US military back.

Obama Broaches the Idea of ‘Mandatory Voting’

While discussing money in politics on Wednesday, President Obama broached a topic normally confined to academic circles: A law requiring people to vote, reports David Jackson at USA Today.

Anyone else think, like I did when I first heard this asinine idea, of the old USSR / North Korea / Cuba style voting?

“If voting made any difference they wouldn’t let us do it.” ― attributed to Mark Twain

I’ve been voting every since I could, and it’s mattered not.

And, the joke is: “if you don’t vote, you can’t complain. if you vote and lose, you voted for it. if you vote and ‘win’, nothing changes.”

I’ve come to the conclusion that “voting” is a waste of time.

Secession is the only chance for freedom and liberty.

POLITICAL: END “public” pensions

CONTROVERSIES
Union lobbyist who worked one day as a teacher suing Illinois for $30,000 pension
By Eric BoehmPublished March 19, 2015watchdog.org

*** begin quote ***

After working one day as a substitute teacher in Illinois, David Piccioli could be entitled to an annual pension of more than $30,000.

And he’s suing the state to make sure he gets paid.

Piccioli is a retired union political activist who’s already pulling down a pair of state pensions from Illinois’ beleaguered public retirement system. But he’s taking the Teachers Retirement System to court to squeeze more money out of the state.

The Chicago Tribune reported Thursday that Piccioli is already collecting $31,000 annually from the Teacher Retirement System, but he could get an additional $36,000 annually if he wins his case. He’s also collecting a $30,000-pension from a different state retirement system for his time as a legislative aide in Springfield, according to the Tribune.

Piccioli is a retired lobbyist for the Illinois Federation of Teachers and never worked in a classroom, but he took advantage of a loophole in Illinois pension law to score his teaching pension.

In 2007, he worked one day as a substitute teacher at a Springfield school. Under Illinois pension law, that one day in the classroom allowed him to qualify for a pension that would pay him for all of his years of work as a member of the union.

Time to END “public” pensions, PERIOD!
