A Real Free Market Health Care Solution
By Frank S. Rosenbloom, M.D.

*** begin quote ***

Solution:

   * 1. Don’t pass any of the Democrat health care plans. Savings of at least $3 trillion over the next five years.

   * 2. Immediately do away with Medicare, Medicaid, and The Center for Medicare and Medicaid services. No other major industrialized nation has a separate system for the elderly, disabled and the poor. Scrap the Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation. Savings of nearly $1 trillion in federal tax dollars yearly, $1 trillion in savings for states and billions in savings by dissolving the tyrannical Joint Commission.

   * 3. People should be responsible for purchasing their own health care, not the government or the employer, making health insurance completely portable. Scrap Hillary Clinton’s HIPAA act at a savings of billions yearly. Let’s make it HIPAA-posthumous.

   * 4. A Health Insurance Company must offer a good basic low-cost health care plan with expanded health savings accounts. Taxpayer cost zero dollars.

   * 5. No health exclusions for three years. Taxpayer cost zero dollars.

   * 6. Health plans should promote healthy practices and preventive health. Taxpayer cost zero.

   * 7. For the poor, government should subsidize the premiums, not be involved in paying providers. Taxpayer costs by my estimate around $600 billion per year.

   * 8. Retired people of lower means should be helped as above but should not have a separate insurance plan run by the government. Sorry, Medicare is dead. Promises were broken, but we are mature people and we need to get over it. Let’s not let it happen again! Taxpayer cost around $300 billion per year.

   * 9. End tax penalties for individuals purchasing individual health insurance. Taxpayer cost zero dollars as these penalties are merely punitive, designed to make people dependent.

   * 10. The health insurance companies in each state should have the option of creating a risk pool from some of their premium funds. Taxpayer cost zero dollars.

   * 11. Laws should be changed to allow for private health co-ops to be formed as an option for those so inclined. Taxpayer cost zero dollars.

   * 12. Patients should be free to change insurance plans at least twice yearly and since their insurance would not be controlled by their employer or the government no permission is needed from them. Taxpayer cost zero dollars.

   * 13. There should be no legal right for insurance plans to dismiss competent and qualified contracted physicians for “no cause”, when that no cause is really due to the physician acting as a patient advocate.

   * 14. Tort reform with penalties for frivolous lawsuits and the loser paying some of the costs.

Well, there you have it. The savings for taxpayers over three years: Nearly $5 trillion. Not requiring bills hundreds of pages long: Priceless! A few short regulations and we have a viable health care system for the future covering over 99% of the population, devoid of the treachery of Medicare and without dependence on the federal government. It’s very simple, very sensible, and so easy even a government official can understand it. It’s even short enough for Congress members to read fully, though some may require several days. Oh, yes, Mr. Obama, I want our $600 billion back.

*** end quote ***

Wow! What great ideas. Zero chance to kill Medicare. But, great ideas.

Stock Market Investing Advice for College Graduates by Jim Wang

Imagine you had a time machine and could give yourself just one good piece of advice after you graduated college, what would it be?

*** end quote ***

Eliminate debt. Save more. Go to Law School with the rest of the team. Buy commodities. Move to the country.

“Souldas, wouldas, and couldas”

They will kill you!

Now, my advice would be: “Be an entrepreneur”!

When I was a recent graduate, I was enthralled by Sonny Bloc on the radio. His advice was to buy, and rent out, 12 single family homes within one hour of your primary residence. I understood the objective a secure monthly income. His theory was that after 15 or 30 years of rental income, the rents would then be free and clear. A pension!

In the wisdom of my youth, I saw all the obstacles — downpayments, 3AM calls from angry renters, and hassles. The target thirty years down the road was so far away. I didn’t do it! If I had, I’d be sitting on 12 300k$ “cash cows”. Say 4m$. Throwing off 12 12k$ annually. 145k$. Argh!

Now I see the wisdom of all sorts of things.

So, I’ll modify that advice: “Have a written plan to be an entrepreneur!”

Yes, hindsight is 20/20.

While waiting for America’s publishers to find their nerve, I had put my research into the authorship of Barack Obama’s 1995 memoir Dreams From My Father on the back shelf. But then I heard Chris Matthews.

The Hardball host was weighing in on the subject of Sarah Palin’s new book deal. “Sarah Palin – now don’t laugh – is writing a book,” sneered Matthews. “Not just reading a book, writing a book.”

“Actually in the word of the publisher she’s “collaborating” on a book,” Matthews continued. “What an embarrassment! It’s one of these ‘I told you,’ books that jocks do. You know she’s already declared, I mean, why they do it like this? ‘She can’t write, we got a collaborator for her.'”

What a joke!

Does anyone think that Kennedy, not Theodore C. Sorensen, wrote “Profiles in Courage”?

I had to read that book in high school. And, the good Brother, I forget his name, asked how many believed Kennedy wrote it. Don’t remember the discussion that ensued but I remember it was vigorous. A CINO slipping in below the radar as the “First Catholic President”. Maybe that’s when the brand began to slip! Parents were horrified from what I heard. After his assassination, all criticism was forbidden as he was placed in the secular equivalent of “sainthood”. But like Saint Augustine, the “saint” had clay feet.

So, Obama claims to have written it, but there is a substantive claim he didn’t.

The Woods Hole press release has more details. “A 50 year old model of global thermohaline circulation that predicts a deep Atlantic counter current below the Gulf Stream is now formally called into question by an armada of subsurface RAFOS floats drifting 700 – 1500m deep. Nearly 80% of the RAFOS floats escaped the Deep Western Boundary Current (DWBC), drifting into the open ocean. Maybe Someone Switched (Babies) Presidents!
by Linda Schrock Taylor

*** begin quote ***

What actually is the Truth? I have read extensively and believe that I have a plausible, and quite probable, sequence in mind. Consider this scenario… When the airlines discovered that Obama-Mama was obviously ready to go into labor at any moment, the decision was made that she would not be allowed to travel from Kenya to Hawaii. Mama-Stanley had no option but to birth her son in Kenya (and so a British and a Kenyan citizen), just as his grandmother has firmly stated. Once the baby was on her, rather than in her, Mama-Stanley rushed to Hawaii to file his coming as a “homebirth.” Hawaii officials, lacking verification from any health professional in attendance at the birth, simply issued a certification confirming that: An Office Official had noted a live child that was born…somewhere on Earth.

The story very probably went from bad to worse following the compromised birth certificate. Mama later married an Indonesian and this president became an Indonesian citizen. He attended Muslim schools, which only Muslims are allowed to attend. (Hint. Hint!! Be alert to his underlying loyalties.) Since there appears to be no record of any naturalization process (as if that would make him eligible to become president…which it would not); no proof of Barry being born in America; nothing to authorize him to run for the presidency of the United States…this president appears to be an international fraud, traveling in and out of countries, especially this one, carrying no proof of being a natural born, American citizen; no full-form legal (i.e. un-forged; un-doctored; HIDDEN) birth certificate; and carrying a fraudulent American passport. Ah, what “face recognition” can achieve for a person…or at least hide! Or would this be along the lines of…a lie told enough times, with enough lawyers standing at the ready, may get crammed down the throats of an entire nation.

*** end quote ***

Yes, I’m a “birth-er”.

If there was nothing to be hidden, then why hide his birth certificate?

Why all the top notch legal talent trying to keep it hidden?

The Forgotten Truth About the Original Boston Tea Party –
and Why We Desperately Need It Today
Written by Carla Howell and Michael Cloud

Carla Howell delivered this speech on April 15, 2009 at the TEA Party Event in Boston:

*** begin quote ***

“I did NOT come here to Protest.

“I did NOT come here to try to change the minds of Democratic or Republican officeholders in Washington – or on Beacon Hill.

“I came here to change politics in America – just like the American Patriots who gave us the first Boston Tea Party.

“The Original Boston Tea Party was NOT a Protest.

“Let me say that again: the Original Boston Tea Party was NOT a Protest.

“The Patriots did NOT just hold up signs, give speeches, and complain.

“The Patriots stopped British ships from unloading Monopoly British Tea – their version of AIG.

“The American Patriots blocked the collection of taxes.

“That is why the Boston Tea Party mattered – and why we remember it today.

“Because it was direct political action, not just protest.

“And it was action that made government smaller.

“Those great American Patriots realized that what they said and what they wrote – changed nothing.

“But action changes everything.

“Not just any action. Action that shrinks Big Government.

“They were right!

“Deeds, NOT just words.

“Direct political action, NOT just protest.

“Action that moves us forward, that moves us closer to small government – NOT the no-win strategy of holding the line, or just opposing more Big Government.

“This is the lesson of the first Boston Tea Party.

“Now it is our turn to live the lesson.

“Let me ask you a few questions.

“Do you believe that the Wall Street bailout is insane?

“Do you believe that the massive federal government borrowing is hurting your business and your family?

“Do you believe that government is too big?

“Do you believe government debt is too high?

“Do you believe government spending is too high?

“Do you believe taxes are too high?

“Now let me ask you the questions inspired by the Original Boston Tea Party:

“Are YOU willing to take political action?

“Are YOU willing to END the Big Government Insanity – and start voting to make government smaller than it is today?

“Are YOU willing to vote against every Big Government candidate – in every election?

“Now here’s the really hard question: Are you willing to vote against them even when you hate the other Big Government candidate more?

“Are you willing to vote FOR small government candidates and FOR small government ballot initiatives?

“Most political candidates who tell you they’re against Big Government, who tell you they are for ‘smaller government’ talk your way — and vote the opposite. They vote for tax increases, debt increases, spending increases, and more Big Government programs. They vote for each year’s higher government spending. Their votes raise your taxes.

“The only way we can protect ourselves against these phonies and fakers is to ASSUME THAT EVERY ELECTED OFFICIAL IN AMERICA IS GUILTY OF VOTING BIG GOVERNMENT – UNTIL OR UNLESS HE PROVES HIMSELF INNOCENT by showing you his voting record. By proving to you that he voted small government while in office.

“Are you willing to vote against every officeholder who refuses to show you their voting record?

“To reclaim the American Dream, we must vote out every Big Government officeholder in our federal, state, and local governments. Every one. Democrat AND Republican.

“But we must NOT stop there.

“We must vote FOR candidates who campaign for, promise, and vote to reduce and remove today’s Big Government social and economic programs – and GIVE BACK EVERY DOLLAR SAVED TO THE TAXPAYERS.

“We must vote for candidates who campaign for, promise, and vote to reduce and END government borrowing, reduce and remove government overspending and waste. Starting now. Small government candidates who will give back every dollar saved to the taxpayers.

“We must vote for small government candidates.

“We must vote FOR ballot initiatives that shrink Big Government.

“Candidates and ballot initiatives that cut orend taxes.

“Candidates and ballot initiatives that drive down today’s Big Government spending.

“Just protesting Big Government will nevergive us what we want. Voting against Big Government will. Voting FOR Small Government will.

“Every Election. Every time. No exceptions. No excuses.

“This is the ONLY way we can fulfill the promise of the Original Boston Tea Party.

“I’m Carla Howell. I head the Center For Small Government. We’re on your side. Please join us.

“Because ‘small government is possible’.”

Would Cleansing Banks’ Balance Sheets Kick-start the US Economy?
by Frank Shostak

*** begin quote ***

Again, note that what makes the lending possible here is not money but the saved consumer goods. Money just serves here as a facilitator. Or we can say that the act of lending here is about the transfer of final consumer goods from lender to a borrower with the help of money.

The essence of credit will not be altered by the introduction of banks. Instead of lending money directly, John could now engage in lending through the intermediary. (John transfers his money to the bank. The bank lends the money to a borrower.)

Real savings determines the size of credit. What people really want is real stuff, i.e., real savings and not money as such. Hence, as long as banks facilitate credit that is fully backed by real savings, they should be seen as the agents in the transmission of wealth.

*** end quote ***

(Disclaimer: I’m an injineer that got D’s in economics.)

This little morality play about savings misses three factors that I think are significant.

The theft of money by inflation. It in effect “steals” from every dollar holder and acts as a hidden tax.

The interest rate controlled by the central bank “taxes” savings both when the rate is too high and too low.

The baker and all who consume bread are forced to “save” by virtue of these taxes.

When money is debased, all economic calculations are done with a “broken calculator”.

IMHO!

As I said I’m just a dumb old injineer!
