Bitcoin Songsheet: How Fiat Money Ruins Civilization
Fiat money leads to a degradation of incentives, creating a society motivated only by the consumption of resources and zero value production.

When the government can print money, the people that benefit the most are the people that get access to that money first. This is called the Cantillon Effect and it’s the reason why rich people get richer without adding much, if anything. So how does the government determine who gets access to the money? As with everything government related, decisions on who gets what money is determined through politics. And when the money printer is political, everything else becomes political. Politics is a cancer that spreads through the entire market.

*** end quote ***

Fiat money allows the Gooferment to escape any fiscal control.

Worse than that it acts as a hidden tax on all the money in circulation.  Savings silently erode away.

Think “penny candy” and then pickup your pitchforks and torches to destroy the FED.

The Federal Reserve Bank is a misnomer. IT ain’t “federal”. It reserves nothing. And, it ain’t a “bank”. It is a private cartel of the elite banks run for their benefit and that of the entrenched politicians.

POLITICAL: Kari Lake submits evidence that the election was stolen

Showdown in Arizona: Will Kari Lake Prevail in Her Election Lawsuit?
5:48

*** begin quote ***

When the win forecast in pre-election polling for Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake did not materialize on Election Day, the tabulator and printer issues in Maricopa County were widely believed to be the culprit.  These widespread issues in Maricopa County were expected to form much of the basis of the Lake campaign’s anticipated challenge to the election, though what additional claims form the basis of the suit was anyone’s guess.  The suspense ended on December 9, 2022, when Lake filed her formal election contest in Maricopa County Superior Court.  The issues raised with the 2022 Arizona elections are far more extensive, and troublesome, than the tabulator/printer issues alone.

Sorry, but I don’t believe any election has been “fair and honest” since LBJ.

What can a little L libertarian do?

Campaign for a “national divorce” and smaller Gooferment.

EVLYNN: About this time, some 52 years ago … …

Monday, December 19, 2022

… … a woman married me.  Once again, my life was changed.  I’d say for the better, but who knows.  At this point, I just feel sad and miss her so much.

“I’ve lost her all over again. I’m so sad that I don’t have her. But I’m so grateful that she was with me on that island. And I know what I have to do now. I gotta keep breathing. Because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring?” Chuck Noland (Tom Hanks) in “Cast Away” (2000)

“You can’t be afraid. It’s not right to be afraid. It’s as if you don’t trust the Lord with our lives. I’m not a big Bible Banger, but it seems rude to joggle God’s elbow. Like a little kid, who has no concept of what is happening.” — character “John” in CHURCH 10●19●62 Volume 2 Page 206

“My love, were it in my power, I would sadly grant thee this boon. But, we have to continue to follow His Plan for us. Let’s go forth and speak no more of this. Who ever is last will be last. It will be His choice; not ours. We’re but humble custodians of His temple on earth. It’s not our place to trump His plan. Whatever that plan be, know that I will be with you to my last breath.” — character “John” in CHURCH 10●19●62 Volume 2 Page 399

RANT: Is anyone else tire of being made fools of?

These same top-of-ballot counts were also less than the total votes counted for all U.S. House races.  In the nine Arizona districts, 1,325,000 votes were counted for GOP House candidates, while 1,196,000; 1,271,000; and 1,254,00 were totaled for the Senate, governor, and secretary of state GOP candidates.  Again, the Democrat side showed the normal pattern: more top-of-ballot votes.

The idea that anyone is being fooled by Democrat assertions that our elections are “free and fair” is not believed by most of the American people.  Problems with the election in Arizona have Republicans furious, and a majority of nationwide voters agree that our “sacred right to vote” is at risk.

*** end quote ***

Sad to say, but “elections” are just window dressing. It’s been exposed in numerous examples since LBJ in the 60’s thru to the recent election.

Given that we are now ruled by “tyrants” what can be done  — shut up and ignore it; revolt; malicious compliance; or “national divorce”.I’m personally tired of being made a fool of.

What about you?I’m open to suggestions.

Argh!

Funny what happens when you keep decreasing the value of your product.

I used to get the paper and I truly enjoyed reading it every morning. But, it kept getting smaller and smaller, and eventually it was bought out by Gannett, the people behind USA Today. That was pretty much it for me, it just became another version of the USA Today with a thin veneer of local news.

I’m a retired IT guy. I personally have always been surprised that “newspapers” didn’t figure out and implement a micropayment system.

Imagine if you were asked for 0.0001 of something (i.e., a dollar; a bitcoin; a ruble; a yen) for an article. Not some number of dollars for a year, or month, or such.

When you get on internet scale, it’s not hard to imagine getting 50k readers each paying say a penny for an article. That translates to 500$ for that one article.

The current payment technology doesn’t pay to scale that price point.

But now, a paper could collect a fraction of a bitcoin from someone’s public key and encrypt the article so that only the person’s private key could decrypt it. At that level, it wouldn’t be worth pirating it or sharing you private key to deprive the sender of the revenue.

I think that would be the way to save the “local” paper with digital distribution of content.

FWIW YMMV

VETERANS: The KIAs, MIAs, and POWs deserve a full and complete accounting

NEVER leave a marine behind; Biden administration JUST DID, left another, Whelan, behind for WNBA player Griner in a reckless prisoner swap for Viktor Bout, like 13 killed leaving Afghanistan; the left, Biden et al. show you just how they value US military who is scum to them, a WNBA player caught with cannabis oil is worth same as the Russian ‘merchant of death’ & more than a marine
Dr. Paul Alexander

*** begin quote ***

The left hates the military, uses it for convenience and simply to enrich themselves (and btw, so do republicans). Obama did same for that puke fraud BergDOG (Bergdahl), remember him, the one he traded for serious deadly middle eastern killers. Remember the deserter who was traded for the vicious five, I remind you with their high school picture day photos below. This is the left, do not forget. Remember these 5 innocent friendly neighborhood homies, flying kites and building sandcastles sending you butterfly kisses. They were not building bombs and not trying to kill as many Americans (and us) as they could. Obama thought they were priests, innocent priests. He equated one deserter who placed soldiers ta risk searching for his deserter arse to these five. Do you? Do you think the Bout-Griner trade was fair or equal or even should have happened? I say no, never and certainly if not inclusive of Whelan and maybe 10 others

*** end quote ***

“Never leave a man behind.” Is a MYTH.

The USA Gooferment has left men and women behind whenever it was “necessary”.  WWII thru Afghanistan have copious examples.  Vietnam is still a festering sore thanks to John McCain covering up his prison record.

I discourage anyone from enlisting because you can’t trust the US Gooferment and the Deep State that runs it to protect our troops.

And, BTW, I don’t know who is running the Biden White House, but it sure is not Biden.   Maybe “Doctor” Jill as the present day instantiation of Elinor Roosevelt.  Maybe BHO44 via Susan Rice.  But it sure is not Demented Joe.

We have to try and pressure the politicians and bureaucrats for a better full and complete accounting of the KIAs, MIAs, and POWs.

Sorry I have no faith in the Gooferment; perhaps an enraged “We, The Sheeple” might be able to get their attention?

I got the series of threatening letters from my DMV about how I needed to renew early to get Real ID or I wouldn’t be able to fly, and that I’d need to make an appointment at the nearest office and bring a utility bill, social security card, and various other things to prove who I was.

Since I had a passport, I didn’t really need a Real ID, so I kept putting it off. And then my DL expired a few months after COVID hit. When I went online to make an appointment, it told me I could renew online instead—and the DL that arrived in the mail a week later was a Real ID one. No paperwork needed after all, which really inspires confidence in that system.

I just shake my head.

Since I no longer need to fly, I can ignore all the nonsense.

I wish Gooferment would just go away.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: End qualified immunity; end police abuse of citizens

Wednesday, December 14, 2022

https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2022/12/grandmother-sues-cop-who-wrongly-targeted-her-home-using-find-my-app/#p3

She’s still hurting —

  • Grandmother sues cop who wrongly targeted her home using “Find My” app
  • Denver Police Department vows to train officers on how “Find My” app works.

Ashley Belanger – 12/5/2022, 4:27 PM

*** begin quote ***

In January, Colorado police officers confined a 77-year-old grandmother named Ruby Johnson for hours in a squad car without even offering a glass of water during a time when she was due to take her daily medications—why?

Nobody told Johnson what was going on when she opened her front door to a SWAT team assembled on her lawn. Much later, she found out about a stolen truck—reportedly with six guns and an iPhone stashed inside—wrongly believed to be parked in her garage based on no evidence other than her home being located within a wide blue circle drawn by a “Find My” iPhone app. Now she’s suing a Denver cop for conducting what she believes was an illegal search of her home based on what her legal team describes as either an intentionally or recklessly defective application for a search warrant that was “wholly devoid of probable cause.” Because of the allegedly improper raid, the retired US Postal Service worker had to “endure an unreasonable search and seizure, unlawful police confinement, and severe physical and emotional distress.”

*** end quote ***

End qualified immunity.

When the police are stupid, untrained, or just criminal, they need to be punished.

The Judge who signed the warrant should be impeached. Those involved in the warrant should be fired. All the police involved should be disciplined.

Until “we” “We, The Sheeple” get the police under control, there can be no freedom.

GUNS: In Civil War 2.0, it appears that insurgents always win; war 5.0 will change the paradigm of war AGAIN

If every US gun-owning civilians started rebelling against the government for some reason, how hard would it be for the US military to stop them?

With all due respect, good sir, I do suspect that you’ve framed this question incorrectly. Instead of saying:

“If every US gun-owning civilians started rebelling against the government for some reason, how hard would it be for the US military to stop them?

You should have asked this:

If every US gun-owning civilians started rebelling against the government for some reason, how long would the government last?

Why would I say this? After all, doesn’t just about every defense study from the post-war era rank the U.S. Military as one of the most powerful armed forces in the world? The answer to this question, you see, is really simple.

There are 100 million gun owners and at most 3 million members of the military and police[1][2][3].

Even if we round up the numbers of police and military to 5 million, it would still be quite a stretch to see them fighting a well-armed group that is nearly 20 times as large as they are. This is despite ignoring several facts that don’t look good for the military:

Supply chains largely dependent on civilians

If the reason for civil war is gun confiscation, it’s highly unlikely that the military, being mainly conservative, will support war against it’s own citizens[4]
.
Continous failures throughout history to successfully defeat insurgencies. Let’s look at three examples to prove my point:

  • Vietnam: The US entered a poor, devastated, war-torn nation. Should have been an easy fight, right? Wrong. After all those years, they had to pack up and leave – and we all know the result
  • Iraq 2.0: They should have taken this one easily – flat terrain, overwhelming firepower, willing politicians, and poorly-trained and led opponents. Yet after 20 years, there has been no result.
  • Afghanistan: Same as the last two. A nation of illiterate goat-herders pushed back the world’s strongest fighting force. This was, of course, only a short while after they kicked out the Soviets.

None of these three examples looks good for the US. However, it gets worse. American gun owners are better equipped, educated, and funded than any of Afghanistan, Vietnam, or Iraq ever were. Not only are American gun owners well equipped, but they are well led too, with 18.2 million veterans – many of whom are likely experienced with asymmetric warfare from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Vietnam[5]. They understand the doctrines and policies set in place to combat an insurgency – and how to work around said doctrines.

Ignoring all these drawbacks that the military faces, and negating any pragmatic and moral argument and simplifying this motion down to a question of numbers, the military still does not win. Under any circumstances. Sorry.

*** end quote ***

All politicians and bureaucrats need to run out in front of the parade and pretend to be leading.  If the parade turns on them, then they are toast.

‘If a battle can’t be won, don’t fight it,’ cautioned Sun Tzu, the revered Chinese warrior from 544-496 BC ”The Art of War’

“Let us hope our weapons are never needed – but do not forget what the common people of this nation knew when they demanded the Bill of Rights: An armed citizenry is the first defense, the best defense, and the final defense against tyranny.” – Edward Abbey

“…if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”
— Churchill, The Second World War, vol. 1, The Gathering Storm (London: Cassell, 1948, 272, on the British guarantee to Poland in Spring 1939.)
