Sans Garage

There are many obvious problems with electric cars as mass-market cars, most of which have been discussed. But there’s one that’s regularly overlooked:

The lack of mass-garaging.

Having a garage, of course, is not a necessity. But without one, owning – charging – an EV becomes more . . . problematic.

Without a garage – and the electrical outlets most garages have – where do you plug the electric car in overnight to recharge? An extension cord can be run from an outlet inside the house sans garage to the car parked outside – assuming you have a long enough cord.

As a fat old white guy “e-leck-trick-cal” injineer, I know a little bit amount moving electrons.  Clearly recharging is going to be an issue in several ways.  L think that this point about recharging infrastructure is a killer.  Anyone who has recharged a phone or laptop knows how long it takes,  Now imagine if your car is unusable while you’re waiting.

INSPIRATIONAL: Where the WuFlu is concerned, we all should question every hypothesis with integrity

YSK: Everyone can be a scientist

Why YSK: Getting an advanced degree in a scientific discipline does not automatically make one a scientist, nor does the absence of such a degree exclude one from making significant contributions to science.

When new evidence demands it, a scientist must be able to question every hypothesis. A scientist’s acceptance of idea must be based on measurable, repeatable findings, which the scientist must disclose with total integrity.

# – # – # – # – #

Where the WuFlu is concerned, we all should question every hypothesis.

And the integrity of EVERY politician and bureaucrat who pontificates about it!

Masks?  Rejected — just like chain link fences can keep out mosquitos.

Lockdowns?  Rejected — Stupidly delaying the onset of herd immunity.

RNA “vaccines”?  Rejected — Absurdly untested genetic engineering.

“Vaccines”? Rejected — these are NOT what we know as vaccines.

Mask compliance? Rejected — it is about “control”; not health.

Argh!

SOFTWARE: EVERNOTE can’t sort the contents of a note.

Thursday, April 15, 2021

Earl John S. (Evernote Help and Learning)

Apr 9, 2021, 10:04 PDT

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting Evernote Support.

I understand that you are unable to find an option to sort the contents of a note, and if it is not possible, you want to know why it isn’t.

In Evernote, you can sort your notes but not its contents. This feature is not yet built in the Evernote app. However, thank you for sharing this good idea with us. It’s super valuable in helping us build the best Evernote we can. I’ve gone ahead and made note of this for our development team. While we can’t commit to getting all feature requests into the product, we do rely on our community to tell us what they’d like to see in the future. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other ideas.

Your ideas and feedbacks are incredibly valuable to us so we built a new “Share Feedback” button into the app to make it quick and easy for you to send us your thoughts. If you are using a Mac, you can find the “Share feedback” by clicking the “Help > Share feedback” in the menu bar (Please see attached image). The comments go directly to our product team. I encourage you to use the button to submit your feedbacks and ideas.

I hope this helps.

Please message us again if you have any outstanding concerns.

Best Regards,

Earl John S.

INNOVATION: Sounds like transhumanism is just around the corner

Thursday, April 15, 2021

https://www.theverge.com/2021/4/8/22374749/elon-musk-neuralink-monkey-pong-brain-interface

There’s probably no substitute better than just watching the 3m 27s long video as it runs through how the macaque monkey is playing Pong without a joystick.

But in case you don’t want to click or watch or engage, here’s the outline on what’s going on from The Verge:

Pager, a 9-year-old macaque monkey, had a Neuralink implanted about six weeks before the video was shot, the video’s unnamed narrator says.

  • He was first taught to play video games with a joystick for a banana smoothie reward, delivered through a metal straw.
  • While he was doing this, the Neuralink device recorded information about which neurons were firing — learning, essentially, to predict hand movements by recording which regions fired. After learning the patterns, the joystick Pager used to play was disconnected from the computer.
  • The monkey appears to go on playing the game using only his mind — playing a game of Pong with no joystick whatsoever.

Glad I won’t be around for the mandatory chipping!

But for the souls who are “differently abled”, or whatever the politically correct term is today, this could be a Godsend.

For others, it might be a curse.

To me a beer flavored smoothie might entrap me.

MONEY: Penny candy and other economic lessons

Peter Schiff With Tucker Carlson: Inflation Is a Painful Tax
APRIL 6, 2021  BY SCHIFFGOLD

*** begin quote ***

We’re told inflation isn’t a problem. But a quick trip out to the grocery store or to fill up your car with gas tells you otherwise. Prices are going up. Peter Schiff recently appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show to talk about inflation. He said the price of everything is going up and the value of everything is going down.

It’s clear that prices are rising.

*** end quote ***

I’m tired of ranting about inflation.

Just do a search on the blog for “three silver dimes” and you’ll see some of my best examples (i.e., the Roman’s cloak, penny candy, 1968 gas prices).

It all comes down to the politicians and bureaucrats having an incentive for silent taxes.  If some Gooferment goon came in every year and seized 2% of your wealth (i.e., 2/100ths of your house), then you’d understand.

I don’t know what I can write that will make the point of inflation is due to the FED. (The Federal Reserve Bank is a misnomer. IT ain’t “federal”. It reserves nothing. And, it ain’t a “bank”. It is a private cartel of the elite banks run for their benefit and that of the entrenched politicians.)

Sure the rich, the elite, politicians, and bureaucrats love inflation.

It’s a racket.

HEALTH: The Today Show just pointed out that “official advice” on Covid is bogus

The ‘Random Act of Journalism’ The Today Show Did That Blows Apart the COVID Panic Narrative
Matt Vespa |  @mvespa1|

*** begin quote ***

The variants are out there. Stay indoors and fear for your lives. We all know there are variants of viruses. They’re living things that adapt. It’s why there is no uniform flu shot every year. It’s why there’s no cure for the common cold. We get it. Viruses change. Stop peddling the science fiction that if we don’t listen to your garage (sic) advice on COVID, variants will appear. The best was Dr. Sanjay Gupta who pretty much said that if we wear masks (i.e., listen to them)—then the variants won’t appear or develop. If we don’t, then they will pop up. They’re still clinging to the mask absolutism like grim death, aren’t they? It’s not a shield. You all know this. You can still catch COVID while wearing a mask, but let’s move on to yet another point that shreds the ‘fear for your lives’ narrative. States that are still under lockdown are seeing COVID cases spike. Those that have reopened have seen a decline. The Today Show noted this, while The Daily Caller decided to comment on this by quoting the late great Rush Limbaugh, who noted such incidents as this as a “random act of journalism.”

“States that are still under lockdown are seeing COVID cases spike”

Guess that “We, The Sheeple” are not paying attention.

BUT, (and there is always a BIG butt), anyone paying attention will take note.

For as little as $20, you can get a COVID-19 vaccine card online. Scammers abound on the Internet offering look-alike three-by-four-inch cards that are falsified copies of the official vaccine cards issued by the Centers for Disease Control to those who are legally inoculated.

What took them so long to demonstrate the stupidity of “vaccine passports”?
