The American Red Cross Blood Services is in need of platelet donors. Currently there are not enough platelet donors on our schedule to meet the needs of area hospital patients. Platelets only last five days after your donation and cannot be frozen. Platelet donations are needed everyday. Because your body replaces all the donated platelets within 7 days, you may be able to donate platelets as often as every 7 days and still participate in your community or workplace blood drive.
