MAC OSX 26 upgrade

2025-Sep-15

  • Big download and long delay getting it; aborted once and restart seemed to pick up where it left off
  • Multi-hour estimate; left it running overnight

2025-Sep-16 0911

  • wipes out Marsedit 5.3.7 blog settings … …
… … no heads up from anyone.  Took a few minutes to repair.
  • mac osx 26 lost share action for gmail … …
    … … no obvious fix

2025-Sep-16 1150

  • Firefox 142.0.1 (aarch64) appears to send every link thru google … …
… … can’t seem to capture or reproduce?
… … seems that clicking a link in email gets passed to Google search engine?
    … … Firefox 143.0 (aarch64) updated on restarting Firefox?

2025-Sep-19 1000

  • All tasks when tabbed out now become minimized.  Giant PIA!  Initial inet search shows no fix.
  • Firefox 143 appear to route all new links thru google some how for some reason.
  • In Finder 26 the share selection with a file selected does n’t have “mail” which should have been Firefox Gmail.

  • … … Next?

Update 2024-Oct-31 0909

All now back to sort of normal after numerous restarts and poking / eroding around.

EXCEPT

GMAIL in a FIREFOX window will not reload itself in.  Have “signin” that spawns a new tab.  That has to be pinned and the old pinned tab quit. Argh!

Still don’t understand what happened.

SOFTWARE: UPDATE MAC OSX Yosemite version 10.10 performance sucks

SOFTWARE: MAC OSX Yosemite version 10.10 performance sucks
2014-Oct-20

Get a ton of spinning lollypops every time I do a task switch or just at random times.

Guess this is how they force me to buy new hardware?

Argh!

2014-Oct-21

After several reboots, one reboot was different.

I had lollypops so bad made it unusable.

I force quit everything. Powered down.

Waited a half inning.

Power up.

It did something different.

A green ball with a progress bar.

A minute or two.

Logon screen presents.

Seems to be running better.

HARDWARE: Changing my opinions …

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

This last upgrade to Mac OS X Mavericks appears to break stuff and change things.

Not for the better.

So, Apple has disappointed me.

I now think they are in the same class as IOS7, Windoze, Linux, and Chromebook.

Each have their own advantages, disadvantages, and utility.

I really don’t know what I’m going to do.

Unfortunately, I just want to use the stuff to produce stuff. I don’t want to alpha test unless I volunteer.

Argh!

PRODUCT: DRIVESLIM for MACOSX

Just thought of something that they could do to improve my experience. So I contacted their support.

*** begin quote ***

I’m a Mac noob.

Is there a set of automator script to run drive slim periodically?

So, for example, cache clear, monthly on the first monday and big files on the second monday. TO prompt those of us with old memories.

From time to time, the various tech site have stuff like this. For example, recently, there was one to delete the IPHOTO automatic copies.

Thanks for good product. No complaints. Just could use some help.

*** end quote ***

Let’s see if I get a response or is it a “pump and dump”?
