Kamala Harris Vows Death Tax Increase
Meagan Dean | Sep 06, 2024
*** begin quote ***
Vice President Kamala Harris is on record in support of a Death Tax hike, including plans to impose a second Death Tax by taking away stepped-up basis when parents die.
Harris’ plans to increase the Death Tax are yet another example of the candidate’s willingness to punish hardworking Americans for their success, this time punitively hitting families experiencing the death of a loved one.
Under current law, the cost basis of assets passing directly to heirs receives a “step-up” to its fair market value. Without stepped-up basis, family-owned businesses would be stranded with a massive tax on unrealized gains after the passing of the owner.
Harris has not been shy in taking ownership of Biden-Harris FY 2025 budget, noting in a March post on X that the budget plan was jointly put forward by her and President Joe Biden.

ABC’s David Muir Lied About Crime Falling Under Biden-Harris
John R. Lott, Jr. | Sep 11, 2024
*** begin quote ***
DAVID MUIR: “President Trump, as you know, the FBI says overall violent crime is coming down in this country, …”
In fact, Trump was correct about the increase in crime under Biden. While violent crime fell by 17 percent under Trump, Biden has seen it rise by 43 percent.
Muir doesn’t understand what the FBI is measuring. The FBI counts the number of crimes reported to police. Trump was right that less than half of police departments are now giving that data to the FBI, but, more importantly, Trump was discussing what was happening to total crime, not just the number of crimes reported to police.
There are two measures of crime: One, the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports (UCR), counts the number of crimes reported to police yearly.
The other, the Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization Survey, asks about 240,000 people each year whether they have been victims of crime, in an attempt to measure both reported and unreported crimes.
We know that crime victims report only about 40 percent of violent crimes and 30 percent of property crimes to police.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted Monday that the Biden administration pressured Facebook to censor COVID-19 content and acknowledged it was wrong to stifle The Post’s coverage of Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop.
In an explosive letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Zuckerberg wrote that “senior Biden administration officials, including the White House, repeatedly pressured” Meta to “censor” content related to the coronavirus pandemic in 2021.
The content the Biden administration requested that Meta take down included “humor and satire,” according to the Facebook founder, and he said he regrets complying with certain demands.

FBI refuses to give Congress informant file alleging Biden took bribes as vice president
By Steven Nelson

WASHINGTON — The FBI has refused to give Congress an informant file alleging that President Biden took bribes while he was vice president, The Post has learned — setting up a possible showdown over access to the information.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) issued a legally binding subpoena last week requiring the FBI to turn over the file by noon Wednesday, but the bureau instead replied with a six-page letter raising various objections.
“Information from confidential human sources is unverified and, by definition, incomplete,” wrote FBI acting assistant director for congressional affairs Christopher Dunham, who also argued that informant reports must also be kept private to protect sources.

When Strength Is Needed, America Shows Weakness
By John Green — March 6, 2023

In the past, America was feared by its adversaries because of its sheer industrial might. During WWII, we built over 300,000 airplanes and 99 aircraft carriers. Now we can’t keep store shelves stocked with basics like baby formula. Unloading ships in a timely fashion seems to be a skill beyond our ability.
We’ve sacrificed the reliability of our electric grid in a quixotic attempt to control the weather. In pursuit of renewable power sources, we have allowed far more reliable sources to become vulnerable to sabotage and poorly maintained.
The Biden administration has depleted our strategic petroleum reserve in a failing attempt to control prices at the pump — something the reserve was never intended for. The reserve is now at its lowest level since 1984. At the same time, the administration has restricted domestic energy production. We are now energy dependent on some of the most unstable regions in the world.

Somebody Has to Pay for Student Loan Forgiveness
August 24, 2022 by Michael Maharrey
*** begin quote ***
President Biden is expected to announce student loan forgiveness on Wednesday (Aug. 24). The plan will reportedly cancel $10,000 in student loan debt for anybody making less than $125,000 per year.
A lot of people think this is like waving a magic wand — poof — the debt is gone. But somebody has to pay and that somebody is the American taxpayer.
Nothing the government does is free. Ultimately, student loan debt forgiveness will add to the already massive budget deficit. That means Uncle Sam will have to borrow more money that taxpayers will have to repay, either in higher taxes or the inflation tax.

And we know who all pay — the Taxpayers.
The economy will have more inflation to deal with and the moral hazards keep piling up!

The Next President Must Prioritize Destroying the Deep State
Opinion Jonathan Bronitsky, Co-Founder, ATHOS
On 8/10/22 at 6:30 AM EDT
*** begin quote ***
At CPAC in Dallas this past weekend, former President Donald Trump asserted that a “key priority for the next Congress and the next president will be to drain the swamp, once and for all.” Then, reiterating a point made in a keynote address to the America First Policy Institute last month, he specified that Congress “should pass groundbreaking reform empowering the president to ensure that any federal employee who is corrupt, incompetent, or unnecessary for the job can be told, ‘You’re fired.'”
Such legislation would essentially formalize and strengthen President Trump’s Executive Order 13957, which President Joe Biden rescinded during his first week in office. But there’s a problem: The chance of even a Republican-controlled Congress carrying out this type of reform is close to zero.
You see, Congress itself created—and, indeed, has since protected and bolstered—the Deep State, so there’s little reason to believe it would now reverse course and eliminate it. A few decades ago, members of the legislative branch began delegating their constitutional lawmaking authority to the myriad federal agencies that constitute the executive branch. (Incidentally, no one knows the exact number of entities that make up the branch. The best estimate is somewhere around 400. Four-hundred!)

Who Knew That The Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Protects A Right To Abortion?
The Biden Administration is about to walk into another eviction moratorium debacle.
Josh Blackman | 7.19.2022 11:15 PM
*** begin quote ***
Politico reports that the Biden Administration has potentially settled on an executive-action response to Dobbs:
White House officials plotting the administration’s post-Roe response are weighing a narrow public health directive aimed at safeguarding nationwide access to abortion pills, three people familiar with the discussions told POLITICO.
The Biden team has zeroed in on that authority in recent days. They consider it the most feasible of the White House’s limited options for protecting abortion rights, and have concluded that it could have the most immediate on-the-ground impact while also quelling Democrats’ demands for stronger action. . . .
The proposal would rely on powers under the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act reserved for public health emergencies to shield doctors, pharmacies and others from liability for providing abortion pills to people across the country — even those who live in states that have outlawed or severely restricted the procedure. .

Seems like this is a transparent attempt to circumvent overturn of Roe by executive diktat.

And Red-State governors would “nullify” the Federal diktats.

Forgive the profanity, but you have got to be s–tting us.
First, the New York Times decides more than a year later that Hunter Biden’s business woes are worthy of a story. Then, deep in the piece, in passing, it notes that Hunter’s laptop is legitimate.
“People familiar with the investigation said prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden, Mr. Archer and others about Burisma and other foreign business activity,” the Times writes. “Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.”

Key takeaways from President Biden’s State of the Union address

Tackling rising inflation
Biden said investment was needed in US manufacturing capacity in a bid to lower prices, speed up supply chains and boost American jobs.
“I think I have a better idea to fight inflation: lower costs, not your wages,” Biden said. “Instead of relying on foreign supply chains, let’s make it in America.”

“inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon” — Nobel laureate Milton Friedman
So how can it “controlled” by any other action than “END THE FED”.
The Dead Old White Guys knew that inflation was tyranny from the phrase “Not worth a Continental damn”. Hence the Constitutional restriction that only gold and silver could be “money”. A restriction conveniently ignored by the politicians and bureaucrats in the early 1900’s.
How did that slip by the Supreme Court?)
For the better part of the 1800’s, “prices” were stable or declining. (Money supply was relatively static while the supply of goods & services increased.). Everyone could save their cash and it would retain it’s value.
In the 1960’s, the money supply was inflated by FED “printing” and the purchasing power dropped dramatically (i.e., my favorite example is “penny candy”!).

Analysis: Push for Green Energy Not Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine Driving up Oil Prices, Threatening Security
PENNY STARR — 28 Feb 2022452
*** begin quote ***
The website oilprice.com posted an analysis about how the push for green energy years before Russia invaded Ukraine – and on steroids since Joe Biden became president – is to blame for soaring oil prices and foreign policy weakness.
The analysis begins with a story about a team from MetalMinder, “the largest metals-related media site in the U.S.”, on a trip to Germany in 2018 where they discovered people’s health suffered from coal pollution because after the Japanese Fukushima nuclear disaster it began shutting down its nuclear energy operations.
“In hindsight, that decision by Germany appears both foolish and ironic,” the team concluded. “Foolish because Germany has lost its negotiating power (pun intended) with Russia for which it relies. It’s ironic because the country already had ‘clean energy’ but now must turn back to dirty energy to avoid blackouts.”
Germany on Friday shut down half of the six nuclear plants it still has in operation, a year before the country draws the final curtain on its decades-long use of atomic power. The decision to phase out nuclear power and shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy was first taken by the center-left government of Gerhard Schroeder in 2002. His successor, Angela Merkel, reversed her decision to extend the lifetime of Germany’s nuclear plants in the wake of the 2011 Fukushima disaster in Japan and set 2022 as the final deadline for shutting them down. The three reactors now being shuttered were first powered up in the mid-1980s. Together they provided electricity to millions of German households for almost four decades.

Hunter Biden never fails to catch a break, from the White House or the elite media

Boy, does Hunter Biden get a ton of breaks. The White House has basically given up on setting any ethical rules for the First Son, while the cultural elite rush to cover for his sleaze.
Last week, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki refused to commit to “basic transparency” about Hunter’s divestment from an investment fund owned by a Chinese-state entity during a White House Press Briefing. She also refused to admit his infamous laptop is authentic.
“The president’s son is not an employee of the federal government, so I’d point you to his representatives,” Psaki snarked after being asked about the China connection. She used the same lame excuse back in February: “He’s a private citizen — I would point you to him or his lawyers on the outside on any update.”
And never mind that President Joe Biden pledged last December that no family member would have a conflict of interest in his administration: “My son, my family will not be involved in any business, any enterprise that is in conflict with or appears to be in conflict with where there’s appropriate distance from the presidency and government,” he told CNN.

Ebola outbreak: Why Obama is allowing Ebolaphobia to spread

Adults admit to anxiety about whether the illness could strike many more people here, and children have confided to me that they are terrified of Ebola. And what is being said is only the obvious part of the psychological virus (call it “Ebolophobia”) that is spreading; I would venture that millions of people are already unconsciously spending mental energy to suppress their worries that the disease could infect them or those they love.
Part of the preventive health strategy to help contain this psychological virus should be a reliable flow of information and bold policy from the Obama administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But, already, their response lacks the necessary element of steady stewardship. And that’s because of President Obama’s continuing reticence to put America first.
