I am a student of history. I find it amazing that men have always tried to keep women down. Treat them as second class citizens.

Women have had to fight every step of the way. They still are fighting men who oppose their right to control their own bodies.

The wives of such political leaders should deny their husbands marital rights for a period each time they do some asinine anti-female thing.

Buy an annual subscription that covers the costs of non-medical rescue services. It’s like AAA with helicopters.

The Utah Office of Outdoor Recreation announced the Utah Search and Rescue Assistance (USARA) card last week. With it, outdoor enthusiasts are exempt from non-medical costs associated with emergency rescue services, should the need arise.

The purpose of the subscription service is to protect both victims of unexpected worst-case scenarios, and the state and counties in which they occur. Both residents and tourists can purchase the card for single- or five-year coverage to defer fees for helicopter transport and emergency crews.

Meanwhile, proceeds from the USARA card will fund training for search-and-rescue (SAR) volunteers and maintenance costs for emergency vehicles and equipment.

Never made sense to me that the Taxpayer has to rescue the unprepared and inept “outdoorsmen”!

Sorry, but if you go in harm’s way, then you should be prepared to pay for the consequences.

If you can’t afford that, then you shouldn’t be “out there”.

In the 1930s, the fascist mania for Hitler’s regime instituted a law making the infamous “sieg heil” hail victory salute mandatory for Germans.
One German named August Landmesser, seen here in this powerful photo, refused to obey. His incredible story is one of great courage, sacrifice, and horrific loss in the name of love.

The word liturgy – from the ancient Greek leitourgia – means ‘public service’ or ‘work of the people’. The idea of benefaction was embedded in the ancient Greek psyche, and had roots in mythology.

The beauty of the liturgy system was that public works tended to be funded and managed by people with relevant expertise, rather than by some less accountable state official. The benefit was that both personal wealth and personal expertise were shared through the community, without bureaucratic or government involvement. The job tended to be done well because the liturgist’s reputation was on the line.

In this age of the super-rich, perhaps it’s time to revive liturgy. It worked for the ancient Athenians, and perhaps it could work for us.

What a fantastic idea?

Everyone always says that “taxation is the price of civilization”. Obviously, that’s wrong.

Us little L libertarians always say “taxation is theft”. Obviously, that’s correct.

Here’s the ancient Greeks teaching us how it CAN be done.

Can you imagine a US grazillionaire building a bridge with his reputation on it?

Similarly, the progeny in a rich family would be expected to do something other than post on Facebook their  bragging.

Imagine!

The Gooferment is immoral, ineffective, and inefficient. As well as untrustworthy.

Here’s a classic example. Sue the Big Drug Companies rather than legalize ALL drugs.

The first tactic puts more money the Gooferment coffers to spend while the second removes it while it “solves” the problem.

Close the excess prisons, courts, and probation and release the excess people to the free market. Transfer the money spent on “punishment” to “rehab”. 

Which way would you like it to go?

Sigh, like so many of the battles / “victories” of WW2, the first casualty of war maybe truth, but the second is surely the veterans.

As a pro-peace little L libertarian, I want to ensure that all these fine youngsters — girls and boys; never old politicians and bureaucrats — are not “wasted” in “chicken hawk” psuedo-wars where the objectives are unknown, the interests are confused, and the rationale is either based on “spin” aka lies or abject falsehoods.

We can trace the causes of WW2 directly to FDR and back to Wilson. Americans meddling in European affairs ended a long tradition of “Minding Our Own Business”. Wilson signed for the Federal Reserve that ensure the Gooferment would never lack for “money”. The American empire was set in motion by Teddy Roosevelt who encouraged an imperialistic Japan. And, all manner of “big Gooferment” was traceable to Lincoln and the War of Northern Aggression.

So here we sit on our “D-Day”, wondering how do we get out of this mess?

Will we have the courage of the “boys of Point Du Hoc” and confront the villains in the “District of Corruption” and say “no more”!

Let’s bring all the girls, boys, women, and men home now! We have so many politicians and bureaucrats to send in their place if it’s really needed!

That’s the way to honor the dead and maimed of Normandy!
