RANT: “We” need to rethink out antiterrorism strategies

The Jihadis Next Door

One of the three knife-wielding assailants who killed seven people in a terror attack in London was known to security services, authorities said Monday. Neighbors said Khuram Shazad Butt’s extremism was broadcast to the nation early last year in a television documentary called “The Jihadis Next Door,” but police said they had no intelligence suggesting the 27-year-old Pakistan-born British citizen was plotting violence. Police identified the second attacker as Rachid Redouane, 30, who they said had claimed to be Moroccan and Libyan, and the third as as Youssef Zaghba, a 22-year-old Italian of Moroccan descent. Meanwhile, with national elections set for Thursday, British Prime Minister Theresa May’s political opponents have gone after her on security issues. We look at British counterterrorism authorities’ soul-searching following the third terror attack since March, as well as the challenge online terrorist propaganda continues to represent for companies such as Google and Facebook, where videos and other content are still widely displayed.

Seems obvious that Humanity needs to rethink our strategies and memes.

(1) Clearly, “religion” is a meme that drives people to act. Sometimes for good (i.e., Mother Teresa) and sometimes for evil (i.e., Islamic terrorism; Child marriage; Child abuse).

(2) Our current responses to terrorism is reactive. “War” is often immoral, ineffective, and inefficient as a response to terrorism. Terrorism is a tactic; not a strategy or an “opponent”.

(3) So the “civilized world” needs some more effective tactics.

(4) I heard one tactic that struck at the heart of the religious beliefs of Islamic terrorists. And it responded me of the 1857 Sepoy Rebellion in India die to “greased cartridges”. The bodies of terrorists should become the property of the State and nothing further said. The corpses would not be released to the families or groups. It could be buried in a way that is inconsistent with their “religious beliefs”.

(5) The Swiss have a tougher standard to become a citizen. The potential citizen must demonstrate their actions to integrate into Swiss society. The USA needs to adopt that as does the world democracies.

(6) The Gooferment is immoral, ineffective, and inefficient. As well as untrustworthy. When it turns a blind eye to ANY violation of law by immigrants or non-integrating minority. That means: ZERO no go zones like in Paris; no “religious accommodation” for “special spaces” in public building; and no exception to child education requirements.

(7) Revoke citizenship of those who go to fight for ISIS overseas and don’t readmit them. Strong prosecution of citizens / residents of those who communicate with or provide material support to terrorist organizations. DO something with those on the watch list — restrict their access to the country.

(8) END welfare for non-citizens now. (Really should be ended for everyone!) It appears that our society are funding these terrorists with welfare. No welfare for any immigrant.

(9) Bring back the sponsorship requirement for immigrants. Used to be required. Then the sponsors are held responsible for those they sponsor.

(10) Prosecute enablers of terrorists.

(11) Cut off Saudi Arabia funding of these terrorist mosques.

That might be a start?

POLITICAL: “The Handmaid’s Tale” protesters included a man?

The humiliating truth about the NH House ‘Handmaids’
by KIMBERLY MORIN

*** begin quote ***

On Thursday, the New Hampshire House of Representatives voted on a fetal homicide bill, Senate Bill 66 (SB 66), that seeks justice for unborn babies who are killed in a violent act. The unborn baby would apply to those who are viable, after 5 months of pregnancy, and the bill specifically states that pregnant mothers, abortion doctors or anything that results as an intentional termination of the pregnancy due to medical causes, are not part of this legislation.

In other words, if an unborn baby of a mother, who plans on birthing her child, is murdered or killed whether intentionally or unintentionally by another human being, the mother can seek justice for the death of her unborn child. Currently, if an unborn baby is murdered in the mother’s womb, there is no justice.

*** and ***

Aside from the complete ignorance of the legislation by these women, who clearly prefer women abort their children rather than give birth, they obviously haven’t actually read The Handmaid’s Tale. It is a fiction book written by Margaret Atwood in 1985.

Atwood describes a society in which religious extremists take over the country (at one point even mentioning Islamic terrorism) and deeming women as second-class citizens unable to work, have their own money or have any rights (men also lose rights as well, it’s based on class, in an Authoritarian, Communist sort of irony). The true hypocrisy of these embarrassing New Hampshire House Democrats is the book perfectly describes Islamic regimes all over the world. The same regimes that were supported and propped up by their beloved Obama Administration as well as Hillary Clinton while Secretary of State.

*** end quote ***

You just have to shake your head at the ignorance of some “protesters”.

Not only didn’t they get their protest correct (i.e., it wasn’t about restricting abortion), but they diverted attention from Islamic regimes all over the world and how they treat women.

Sigh! And there was a man dressed up like a woman? Did they run out of women or perhaps, most women understand that violence against the unborn is immoral?

No solutions here. Just some very confused people.

If they were any more stupid, they’d have to be watered twice a week.

RANT: “Not the ballot box, but the other box.”

CHARACTERS AND CONVERSATION
by keywestlou

*** begin quote ***

The 19th Amendment was passed this day [JR: 6/4] around 1918. Gave women the right to vote.

I am a student of history. I find it amazing that men have always tried to keep women down. Treat them as second class citizens.

Women have had to fight every step of the way. They still are fighting men who oppose their right to control their own bodies.

The wives of such political leaders should deny their husbands marital rights for a period each time they do some asinine anti-female thing.

*** end quote ***

REMINDS me of what I wrote in my ‘magnum opus’ “CHURCH 10●19●62”:

*** begin quote ***

“Yes, when we get out of here. We’re going to have to fix that. You know we control something that can get it done. Not the ballot box, but the other box. (A giant sucking sound as pure Miss Marie used that very rude idiom.) We can end war.”

—  character “Marie” being anti-war in CHURCH 10●19●62 Volume 1 Page 262

*** end quote ***

Still true.

Why don’t “our” women here in the USA exercise their political might to be pro-peace pro-life pro-liberty?

Could it be that they are “delusional” and not understand the problem?

Argh!

RANT: Why should the taxpayer pay for “rescues”?

Utah Unveils ‘Search And Rescue Card’
Buy an annual subscription that covers the costs of non-medical rescue services. It’s like AAA with helicopters.

*** begin quote ***

The Utah Office of Outdoor Recreation announced the Utah Search and Rescue Assistance (USARA) card last week. With it, outdoor enthusiasts are exempt from non-medical costs associated with emergency rescue services, should the need arise.

The purpose of the subscription service is to protect both victims of unexpected worst-case scenarios, and the state and counties in which they occur. Both residents and tourists can purchase the card for single- or five-year coverage to defer fees for helicopter transport and emergency crews.

Meanwhile, proceeds from the USARA card will fund training for search-and-rescue (SAR) volunteers and maintenance costs for emergency vehicles and equipment.

*** end quote ***

Never made sense to me that the Taxpayer has to rescue the unprepared and inept “outdoorsmen”!

Sorry, but if you go in harm’s way, then you should be prepared to pay for the consequences.

If you can’t afford that, then you shouldn’t be “out there”.

HISTORY’S HEROES | THE AMAZING AND TRAGIC STORY OF AUGUST LANDMESSER

Landmesser liberty maniacs print large

*** begin quote ***

On June 13th, 1936, this hero named August Landmesser was working at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in in Hamburg, Germany. When you read his story, you’ll never forget him.

In the 1930s, the fascist mania for Hitler’s regime instituted a law making the infamous “sieg heil” hail victory salute mandatory for Germans.
One German named August Landmesser, seen here in this powerful photo, refused to obey. His incredible story is one of great courage, sacrifice, and horrific loss in the name of love.

When you stand against the Gooferment, it will crush you.

I hope I have his courage. Do you?

INOVATION: Voluntary “taxation” of the “wealthy”

Voluntary taxation: a lesson from the Ancient Greeks
Dominic Frisbyis a financial writer from London. His books are Bitcoin: The Future of Money? (2014) and Life After the State (2013). He co-wrote the documentary Four Horsemen (2012) and hosts the Virgin Podcast.

*** begin quote ***

The word liturgy – from the ancient Greek leitourgia – means ‘public service’ or ‘work of the people’. The idea of benefaction was embedded in the ancient Greek psyche, and had roots in mythology.

*** and ***

The beauty of the liturgy system was that public works tended to be funded and managed by people with relevant expertise, rather than by some less accountable state official. The benefit was that both personal wealth and personal expertise were shared through the community, without bureaucratic or government involvement. The job tended to be done well because the liturgist’s reputation was on the line.

In this age of the super-rich, perhaps it’s time to revive liturgy. It worked for the ancient Athenians, and perhaps it could work for us.

*** end quote ***

What a fantastic idea?

Everyone always says that “taxation is the price of civilization”. Obviously, that’s wrong.

Us little L libertarians always say “taxation is theft”. Obviously, that’s correct.

Here’s the ancient Greeks teaching us how it CAN be done.

Can you imagine a US grazillionaire building a bridge with his reputation on it?

Similarly, the progeny in a rich family would be expected to do something other than post on Facebook their  bragging.

Imagine!

This is great advice for every driver; not just the gun owner.

Two five minute videos for those carrying a firearm.

Worth watching for the non-gun owners so that you don’t scare the police into an over reaction.

It’s their lives at risk.

INTERESTING: A video on “happiness”

I enjoy the occasional Joe Rogan rant, because he can be very enlightening. Thankfully, his video on Happiness is short and straightforward, and surprisingly uplifting. Personally, I struggle with “[Happiness is] not having all your ducks in a row,” so this video is a good reminder.  — CD

Well, I must be “happy” then, because my “ducks” are never in a row.
