Kamala is basking in the post-Joe glow – and Trump is panicking… but now MAUREEN CALLAHAN reveals the SIX fatal secrets about Harris’s dirty past, her lies and hypocrisy that she’ll wish you didn’t know

No.1: Harris owns the border

No.2: She has repeatedly vouched for Biden’s physical and cognitive health

No.3: She’s an alleged bully

No.4: Even for a politician, she’s particularly craven

No.5: Zero foreign policy experience and zero backbone

No.6: No stated premise or philosophy

*** end quote ***

For me, I think she has some character flaws that I can’t overlook:

No.7: She has “Lewinsky-ed” herself to the top in the Pepuls Republik of Kaliforkneeah

No.8: She harshly prosecuted minor offenders when it was politically valuable and now she bails out BLM rioters’

No.9: She is wrong on a bunch of issues  — abortion, climate change, defund the police, just to name a few

No.10: She appears not to be a “native born citizen” since her parents were never more than “legal visitors

So she has a lot of strikes against her; not that DJT is any exemplar of greatness.  RFK Jr has some bad points to.  And, the libertarian candidate Chase is just absurd.

Maybe this time, I just may sit it out.

INTERESTING: New use for K9 — reverse tracking

K9 Officer Rescues Lost Non-Verbal Child by Following the Boy’s Scent in Reverse to Find His Home
By Andy Corbley –  Jul 25, 202

*** begin quote ***

In North Carolina, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a child was wandering alone on the road on July 7th.

Dispatching an officer to the Waxhaw Indian Trail Road, the child was located and secured, but being autistic and non-verbal, the officer had no idea where the boy had wandered away from.

Being that the responder was a K-9 Unit, and was working alongside his trusty 1-year-old bloodhound Remi, Deputy B. Belk utilized the dog’s incredible sense of smell to “reverse” the normal scent tracking process to find the boy’s home.

“Normally, [scent dogs] track from where a person left to try to find where that person is currently. This time we were doing it reverse,” said Lieutenant Public Information Officer James Maye to CNN.

*** and ***

Lieutenet Maye explained the technique of reverse tracking would now be implemented in the training curriculum for K-9 officers.

*** end quote ***

Excellent work.

I can almost hear the dog’s thoughts now  — “Yeah, I smell the scent and the person is right over there now.  What exactly do you want me to find?  Him?  He’s over there.”

I don’t know how they communicated to the dog they wanted him to back track.

As a fellow with a six year old, I can COMPLETELY understand how a child can “disappear” in a heartbeat.  Just recently I had mine “disappear” into the basement.  Argh!

I can recommend Angel Sense tracking device as a service to make sure you know where the child is.

What Olympic runners can learn from cheetahs
Sophie Hardach

*** begin quote ***

Cheetahs are famous for being the fastest land animals – but research suggests there’s much more to their athleticism than just speed.

Imagine you are an impala, racing across the African savannah to try and escape a cheetah – the world’s fastest land animal, which can reach a running speed of more than 100 km/h (62 mph). It may seem like a hopeless effort, but in real life, impalas do sometimes manage to get away. Which running strategy do you think would give you the best chance of beating the cheetah?

A. Fast and in a straight line

B. Fast and zig-zag

C. Slow and in a straight line

D. Slow and zig-zag

A growing body of research on wild cheetahs and their prey not only reveals the answer to this quiz – more on this below – but also offers wider insights into why exactly cheetahs are so fast, and what we might learn from them to help our own athletic pursuits.

A missing 70-year-old hiker who was miraculously been found alive after getting lost for five days in the blistering heat of the Sierra Nevada mountains has revealed how he managed to survive.

Warren Elliott disappeared last week after setting out on a stroll from his campsite in Rubicon Springs.

The experienced hiker made a wrong turn at around 3pm on Friday and ended up getting lost as the mercury soared to 90F, drinking from the nearby river and snacking on berries to survive.

*** end quote ***

Of course, the article doesn’t reveal the “mistake” or the “trick”.

(I don’t consider “making a wrong turn”, that might kill you, as a mere “mistake”.  It’s a “mistake” when you put ketchup on your hot dog instead of mustard.  Nor do I consider “drinking from a river and snacking on berries ” as a “trick”.)

He was lucky to survive.

Where was his daypack and at least his EDC (Every Day Carry)?  When you’re lost, it’s drilled into stop moving and stay put, so you can be found.  Nine crow miles away is obviously not staying put.  At least, when you “found” the river, make camp and build a smoky fire.  That’s a “trick” to get found.

And, with all of these “rescues”, I always ask “who pays”? We know it’s the Taxpayer.

An avocado a day keeps the doctor away.

New research has found that eating one avocado every single day is associated with health benefits, including improved sleep and diet quality.

“We do know from prior work that avocado intake is linked to lowered risk of cardiovascular disease,” Penn State University postdoctoral scholar Dr. Janhavi J. Damani, who was involved in the study, told Healio.

The research, presented recently at the conference Nutrition 2024 in Chicago, builds upon past studies that examined the health benefits of avocado, suggesting that avocadoes can “improve cardiovascular risk factors by reducing total cholesterol and LDL-C without adversely affecting body weight,” according to Damani.

I think John Oliver recently overstated how little “migrant crime” there is. Maybe, just maybe, the R’s are hyping it too much.

I’m not a fan of either the D’s or the R’s.

But I do think “crime” is a much bigger problem overall and “migrant crime” is a component of it. Native USA-ers at WalMart, shoplifting, and flash mobs are another significant component of the perception.

Until the police and “justice bureaucrats” get tough and back to work, it’ll continue to be a problem. Some more traffic tickets would be helpful too. Argh!

In the mean time, cracking down on illegal immigration is a prudent strategy to “migrant crime”.  You can’t be unconcerned at the military age Chinese and Middle Eastern men in the crowds at the border.

Our pets can sense when we’re in pain or dying – even from hundreds of miles away: I’m an ex-Cambridge academic and these startling, inexplicable stories convinced me..

*** begin quote ***

For more than 30 years I have been collecting case evidence of animals that appear to know by intuition or telepathy when the humans they love have suffered a serious, sometimes fatal, accident.

The existence of so many independent reports is persuasive, writes Dr Sheldrake, who has been collecting evidence of animal intuition or telepathy for more than 30 years

The bond between owner and animal is indeed a real connection, linking them together invisibly, even over thousands of miles

This isn’t a subject that lends itself to experimental investigation. Evidence can only come from chance events, not laboratory tests, since it is obviously impossible to stage dangerous incidents. But in my files I now have more than 100 accounts of dogs appearing to respond to distant injuries or deaths of their human companions, and about half as many cases involving cats.

The existence of so many independent reports persuades me that this is a real phenomenon, even though it is not possible to do experiments. Further research is needed through the collection of more well- documented stories.

My theory is simple: the bond between person and animal is indeed a real connection, linking them together invisibly, even over thousands of miles. Death and danger disrupt this bond.

To take a simple analogy, if two people are connected by a stretched elastic band, and one of them shakes it or lets it go, the other feels a difference. Even if they do not know exactly what is happening to the other person involved, they know something is happening.

*** end quote ***

Based on anecdotal evidence, his theory seems to have some basis in fact.  I haven’t formed a “reasoned belief” to any degree of certainty, but it certainly seems possible.  I’ve read many stories about “loyal dogs”, graveside visits, and such.  We know that dogs can smell disease, so why can’t they have some type of ESP.  We have seen anecdotal evidence about the connection of human twins.  Why can’t there be more to the physical world than we know right now?

Narradigm: A Brief Explanation

#Narradigm is a portmanteau of “narrative” and “paradigm,” representing a new model of storytelling that integrates advanced technologies, such as #AI, with traditional #narrative techniques. This concept goes beyond conventional storytelling by leveraging data-driven insights, interactive elements, and immersive experiences to create dynamic, multi-dimensional narratives.

*** begin quote ***

But something happened. Biden refused to quit (and they can’t shove him out), and Trump not only refused to get dead, but earned his god-king crown.

The pre-planned narradigm was supposed to rouse fear and anger toward an impotent and ineffective Biden presiding over a rudderless ship of state (see what I did there?), while stirring up sympathy and anger over Trump being horrifically and publicly cut down. Both events were to happen between the end of the primary cycle and before the conventions began, thus causing unbelievable amounts of chaos as both parties and the general public pointed fingers of blame, while trying to figure out who would replace the candidates.

*** and ***

As mentioned in my last screed, Biden was clearly set up to fail, and in the most recent episode, Trump was clearly meant to die. The lack of “security” on rooftops, the Keystone Kops Secret Service DIE hires, the waving flag in the background as a wind sock…it was a setup from the word GO.

So here we have a word for a prepared narrative that is carefully produced to get the desired effect.

HEALTHCARE: UK has 13% of its entire population on the NHS “waiting list”

U.S. Left Take Note: UK’s Healthcare an Unending Nightmare
By Sally Pipes Wednesday, 17 July 2024 02:43 PM EDT

*** begin quote ***

Last year, an average of 268 British patients died each week as a result of hospital admission delays in the nation’s emergency rooms, according to the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.

In England, the number of patients awaiting treatment referrals rose to 7.6 million as of the end of April.

That’s roughly 13% of its entire population.

There’s no shortage of lamentation from British officials about the rising death tolls and growing wait lists endemic to the NHS.

Britain’s new Health Secretary, the Labour Party’s Wes Streeting, even made headlines this week by declaring that “From today, the policy of this department is that the NHS is broken.”

*** and ***

All of this tumult in Britain should give Americans pause the next time leftists like Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., celebrate the virtues of government-dominated health care.

Just last year, Sanders implored Britons: “Do not look at the American model. Please do not. Build on what you have, improve what you have.”

Britain has tried that for decades, with only worsening results.

*** and ***

American observers take note: Socialized medicine is no dream. It’s a nightmare — and one from which Britain has been unable to awake.

*** end quote ***

Hard to imagine that people aren’t dying while waiting for treatment.  Seems like “socialized medicine” always has this problem.

Not withstanding Senator Sanders advice, I’d suggest privatizing the whole mess.  Real Privatization.

Not like Medicaid, not like Medicare, not like the Veterans Administration healthcare, or not like the Indian Healthcare system.

Go back to the early insurance model, where the recipient must pay and be reimbursed.  If they are poor, then the Gooferment can “insure” them but they only pay a small percentage.  Same for catastrophic health expenses, pay a percentage.  No need for medical bill bankruptcy.

By everyone paying something, I bet enough fraud would be eliminated to pay for the whole thing.  (I remember that ½ of all Medicare expense in South Florida was fraudulent.  By having a percentage to pay, we can turn all the senior citizens into medical auditors.  Ever seen old folks splitting a check at an early bird dinner?)

If you thing the US system is “bad”, then look into the UK’s NHS and its problems.

Argh!

First atomic test was 79 years ago this morning.

Entire books have been written about the test, so I’ll just touch on one key issue here briefly. It’s related to a hallmark of the age that would follow: a new government obsession with secrecy, which soon spread from the nuclear program to all military and foreign affairs in the cold war era.

In completing their work on building the bomb, Manhattan Project scientists knew it would produce deadly radiation but weren’t sure exactly how much. The military planners were mainly concerned about the bomber pilots catching a dose, but J. Robert Oppenheimer, “The Father of the Bomb,” worried, with good cause (as it turned out) that the radiation could drift a few miles and also fall to earth with the rain.

Indeed, scientists warned of danger to those living downwind from the Trinity site but, in a pattern-setting decision, the military boss, General Leslie Groves, ruled that residents not be evacuated and kept completely in the dark (at least until they spotted a blast brighter than any sun). Nothing was to interfere with the test. When two physicians on Oppenheimer’s staff (though not Oppie himself) proposed an evacuation, Groves replied, “What are you, Hearst propagandists?”

Admiral Williams Leahy, President Truman’s chief of staff – who opposed dropping the bomb on Japan – placed the bomb in the same category as “poison gas.” And, sure enough, soon after the shot went off before dawn on July 16, scientists monitored some alarming evidence. Radiation was quickly settling to earth in a band thirty miles wide by 100 miles long. A paralyzed mule was discovered twenty-five miles from ground zero.

Can, Bottle or Draft: Which Beer Tastes Better?

  • What you drink your beer out of has an impact on its flavor

By Mike Dunphy
July 11, 2024 12:06 pm

*** begin quote ***

The same phenomenon happens in the beer world, when enthusiasts deliver passionate panegyrics and firm convictions on the superiority of beer in a can, bottle or keg. Subjectivity keeps the debate ongoing, but chemistry and fermentology — alongside a bevy of other packaging factors — do have something to say about it and may challenge your beliefs. Here’s what really makes the difference in the flavor of your beer when it comes to the can, bottle or draft debate.

Packaging vs. Freshness

Just as an artifact uncovered by an archaeologist immediately begins to degrade in the open air and sun, so too does beer the moment it leaves the mother tank and funnels into cans, bottles and kegs. By and large, these chemical changes are not welcome, and preserving the freshness and flavor of beer depends a lot on keeping out the culprits.

The most dangerous element is oxygen, explains Chuck Skypeck, technical brewing projects director for the Brewers Association. “The way that beer arrives at its best state to the consumer is about the brewer’s ability to put their beer into that package with a minimum amount of exposure to oxygen,” Skypeck explains. Oxygen impacts the flavor by essentially turning compounds in the beer into other, less desirable compounds that dull flavor and make beer taste stale. Oxygen gets many access points, too, in the path from source tank to consumer. Not only do you have to move beer between tanks during production, potentially exposing it to air, you also have to open the container to put beer in it. Bottles and cans can be damaged on the production line, or a pump seal might leak, too — again putting the onus on the brewer’s skill, system and equipment.

But the question is never answered.  So I assume that all three are equivalent all other factors being equal.  So you’re on your own and have to rely on your own taste buds.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: When Gooferment bureaucrats refuse to answer to their citizens

My emails with the County Executive’s office of Santa Clara County

  • These people need to be held accountable for their decision to look the other way when confronted with evidence of public harm. If you live in Santa Clara County, please share your thoughts with them.

Steve Kirsch  —  Jul 13, 2024

*** begin quote ***

I had a discussion with the Director, Civic and Community Engagement of Santa Clara County whom I was referred to when I attempted to ask for a meeting with the County Executive.

Here’s the tl;dr:

“The Santa Clara County Public Health Department isn’t interested in answering any questions about malfeasance regarding their data and we’re not interested in the answer either.

We don’t give a shit that people were injured or killed as a result of the public health recommendations so we’re not going to answer any more of your questions.

    Have a nice day. Goodbye.”

This is an unacceptable response and I’m not going to let them get away with it. I plan to hold them accountable for their actions. All legal of course!

*** end quote ***

It’s time that Gooferment bureaucrats were held accountable for being non-responsive.

The Gooferment politician in charge should fire them.  If they refuse or can’t, then they should be cvoted out of office.

I bet that this only has to be done a few times to correct bad behavior.

Argh!

Coast Guard rescues blind hiker, guide dog stranded on sweltering hiking trail for days

By Stepheny Price, Fox News

Published July 12, 2024, 5:14 a.m. ET

*** begin quote ***

A blind hiker and his guide dog are safe after being rescued by a US Coast Guard helicopter crew when they became stranded for days in the heat on an Oregon hiking trail.

The US Coast Guard Pacific Northwest announced an aircrew had rescued a 55-year-old man and his dog from the Rogue River Trail in southwest Oregon.

The hiker, who officials said is legally blind, began hiking the trail with a friend and his guide dog July 3 and began to show symptoms of heat exhaustion July 6.

Officials said that, due to lack of cellphone service, the friend left the unidentified man and his dog with food and water and headed toward Gold Beach to call 911.

Didn’t they have an Apple phone with satellite capability or a satellite phone?   Guess not.  Who pays for the rescue?

Sigh!  The taxpayer.

Authorities Are Literally Losing Control Of The Streets As America’s Societal Collapse Accelerates
by Tyler Durden
Tuesday, Jul 09, 2024 – 01:25 PM
Authored by Michael Snyder via The Economic Collapse blog,

*** begin quote ***

In a civilized society, authorities are able to maintain at least a basic level of law and order in the streets most of the time. Unfortunately, at this point it is up for debate whether the United States is still a “civilized society” or not. The chaos in our streets never seems to end, and those that are in charge of running things don’t seem to be able to regain control. The theft, violence and mayhem that we are witnessing in our major cities is being fueled by the worst homelessness crisis in our entire history, the worst drug crisis in our entire history, and the worst migration crisis in our entire history. If authorities cannot control our streets now, what is going to happen once our societal collapse reaches a much more advanced stage?

*** end quote ***

Over and over, the same story.  Laws not enforced.  Criminals not sentenced for violent crimes.  “Juveniles” not prosecuted as adults.  Bad behavior is tolerated or ignored.

Argh!

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: You peasants may have opinions, but they matter not to your betters

https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2024/07/11/boston-is-getting-more-speed-humps-a-lot-more/?ICID=ref_fark

Boston is getting more speed humps. A LOT more.

The humps themselves are about three inches high and about 12 to 14 feet long. Cars can smoothly travel over them at 20 miles per hour or slower.

By Molly Farrar  — July 11, 2024

*** begin quote ***

A speed hump could be coming to a street in your neighborhood soon, as the city unrolls a years-long effort to promote traffic safety.

The City of Boston will install more than 2,000 of the humps, as part of “Safety Surge,” which began in October. The City plans to have installed more than 400 humps by the end of July.

*** and ***

More humps are planned for Mission Hill and Allston-Brighton. According to the city’s website, there will be no opportunity for resident feedback, but residents will be notified before a speed hump is built on their street.

*** end quote ***

I wonder if the elite are getting speed bumps like it or not?

Somehow I suspect not.

And, I guess all the potholes have already been filled?

Yet, another example of Gooferment arrogance.

ConspiracyTheories: Grassy knoll 2.0 — my questions about what’s reported

Monday, July 15, 2024

https://palexander.substack.com/p/grassy-knoll-20-was-this-grassy-knoll?publication_id=579356&post_id=146598300&isFreemail=false&r=onvra&triedRedirect=true

Grassy knoll 2.0? Was this Grassy knoll 2.0 but bungled for Trump? 2nd shooter? Was the bungle deliberate? Grassy knoll involved JFK Kennedy being killed & did the assassin FAIL here with Trump? Yet was he killed by Secret Service (SS) to tell no tales? Was there a SECOND shooter? Did the SECOND shooter’s bullet hit Trump? Is this patsy ‘KILLED’ shooter a fake MISDIRECTION? How will we know?

# – # – # – # – #

I have my own set of questions.

  1. How was a rooftop clear for a shooter to take up a position?
  2. Why wasn’t the shooter stopped by the cop that spotted him?
  3. Did the good guy sniper delay taking the shot that killed the “bad guy”?
  4. The “bad guy” was reputed to be a “bad shot”; so how did he get off nine rounds and kill one bystander?
  5. Why was DJT so exposed on the dais  — no bulletproof glass in front of him?

Home Invasion Illustrates Why Gun Control Is Stupid
By Tom Knighton | 2:29 PM | July 11, 2024

*** begin quote ***

They took the money and pistol-whipped the victim and are currently at-large.

Now, either this gentleman didn’t have a firearm or couldn’t get to it in time, so it didn’t turn into a defensive gun use. However, let’s say, for the sake of argument, that he did.

Do you think one shot would have ended the threat? There were four of them. According to this report, all four were armed.

*** end quote ***

In out forefathers’ days, “home invasion” was unheard of.  Crime came with a chance of death.

“An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.” — Robert A. Heinlein

So too, a “home invasion” should have a high probability of “return fire”.

There’s is no excuse for the Gooferment promising “protection” and enforcing disarming victims.

“No law ever written has stopped any robber, rapist or killer, like cold blue steel in the hands of their last intended victim.” —W. Emerson Wright

“Victim disarmament is the view that it is somehow better to see a woman raped in an alley and strangled with her own pantyhose, than see her with a gun in her hand.” — T.D. Melrose

“God made men and women; Sam Colt made them equal.” — Unknown

Too many criminals; need every citizen to be armed.
