GOVERNACIDE: … “punish the innocent”?

I do not understand police behavior involving the recent Douglas High School shootings.

The police officer on duty did not go in the building. I would have assumed his first responsibility would have been to confront the attacker.

Two more officers appeared on the scene. They did not go in. The claim is they were told to establish a perimeter and not enter.

In the meantime, people were being killed inside. I have to believe if they did do something, some lives would have been saved. Even one would have justified their engaging the attacker.

The story gets better.

Two members of the Miramar Police Department were in the area. Both detectives, both members of the SWAT team. They immediately responded. What they did when they arrived, I do not know.

They have been suspended. They have been required to surrender their SWAT issued rifles. The reason for the chastisement: They failed to follow protocol by not getting permission from a superior prior to rushing to the scene.

Unusual circumstances call for unusual activity. Initiative becomes the order of the day. Not with the Miramar Police Department, however. The two officers are being punished for doing the right thing.

*** end quote ***

Back in my Wall Street days, there was an oft quoted adage: “Punish the innocent; reward the guilty; and promote the uninvolved.” That’s sure sounds like “punishing the innocent” to me.

There’s no doubt that this was a great example of Gooferment “protection”.

  • Create a gun free zone and have a big soft target rich environment.
  • Ignore the many red flags REPEATEDLY.
  • The Gooferment Skrule bureaucrats don’t prosecute lawbreakers under some absurd policy about breaking the “school to prison pipeline”.
  • Local law enforcement ignoring CRIMINAL FELONY acts by the eventual mass shooter (i.e., assaults; brandishing; threats; menacing).

And the crowning achievement — the FBI TWICE ignores “tips” on a potential “mass school shooter”.

As law-abiding gun owner, why are my RIGHTS under attack?

Does anyone expect the Gooferment to protect you?

You must be delusional.

GOVERNACIDE: The opioid “epidemic” has the Gooferment’s “fingerprints” all over it

How To Kill 300,000 Americans (And Get Away With It)
by Tyler Durden
Sun, 02/18/2018 – 11:26
Authored by Trey Goff via The Mises Institute

*** begin quote ***

If someone wanted to kill 300,000 Americans and get away with it, they could not have accomplished it more effectively than our government has accomplished it with the opioid epidemic.

If someone— let’s say good old Uncle Sam—wanted to kill 300,000 Americans, they would go about it as detailed in this step-by-step guide. This also just so happens to be precisely how our government did go about it.

Step 1 – In 1996, Uncle Sam would award a 17-year government patent monopoly to Purdue Pharma to be the exclusive supplier of OxyContin, an addictive and potentially deadly opioid painkiller. This would ensure that they had a massive multi-billion-dollar profit incentive to get as many people addicted as possible without any generic competition to keep this profit motive in check.

Step 2 – To further fuel the use of OxyContin, Uncle Sam would cover the cost of it through Medicaid and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). This would ensure that there were billions of dollars available to fund the purchase of massive quantities of the addictive and potentially deadly substance.

*** and ***

Step 16 – After vast numbers of Americans had switched to injection drug use and street heroin, and were using drugs alone and unsupervised, Uncle Sam would then make the street drugs as deadly as possible.Uncle Sam would do this by “cracking down” on the supply side of heroin, knowing full well that illegal drug manufacturers would respond by making their drugs ever more potent, or finding ultra-potent additives to substitute into their street drugs to decrease the size and weight of the trafficked substance (this is known as the Iron Law of Prohibition). That would ensure that heroin was laced with fentanyl (a substance 100 times more potent than morphine) and that eventually fentanyl was replaced by the even more potent carfentanil (a substance 10,000 times more powerful than morphine). Uncle Sam would then ban drug checking under drug paraphernalia laws, ensuring users had no idea if the substance they were about to use was laced with fentanyl. With each increase in potency and adulteration, the death rate would continue to climb higher, and higher, and higher.

There you have it: the perfect guide to killing at least 300,000 people and getting away with it. It is an absolute tragedy that this also happens to be the precise course of action the US government has taken over the past few decades to create this perfect storm of addiction and death.

*** end quote ***

This is just Yet Another Example of “Gooferment creates a problem, “fixes it”, and creates new / worse problems; that in turn makes new problems that “only” the Gooferment can fix”!

When will “We, The Sheeple” learn that the Gooferment — at any level — doesn’t care about problems or “Unintended Consequences”.

Easy answer, end the “(pseudo) War on (some) Drugs” and treat drug addiction as a MEDICAL problem; not a legal one.

GOVERNACIDE: Politicians ribbon-cutting opportunities cost people’s lives and Taxpayers’ wealth

Questions to Ask About Amtrak 501
By RANDAL O’TOOLE

*** begin quote ***

The wreck of the 501–the Amtrak train that crashed near Seattle on Monday–is raising lots of questions about Amtrak operations, but they aren’t always the right ones. Here are some questions that should be asked and some of my preliminary answers. Answers from Amtrak (the operator), FRA (the funder), Sound Transit (the track owner), or WSDOT (the train owner) may differ.

*** and ***

2. Around 800 people die in railroad accidents a year. PTC would prevent only about 1 percent of these fatalities; far more would be saved by spending the same amount of money on better grade crossings and fencing of rail rights of way. Why do we put so much emphasis on an expensive technology that will do so little?

Answer: Accidents that PTC could have prevented tend to be more spectacular than people getting killed when a train hits their car at a grade crossing. This suggests that, when politicians decide where private businesses spend their money, it’ll get spent on grandiose programs rather than things that could really make a difference.

*** and ***

5. Why do so many reporters call this a high-speed train? The top speed between Portland and Seattle is 79 mph, the same as it has always been and the same as most other Amtrak routes. In technical terms, this was a conventional, low-speed train.

Answer: Though this was a low-speed train, it was funded by Obama’s high-speed rail fund. By repeatedly using the term “high-speed trains,” reporters are keeping that idea in the public consciousness, perhaps in the hopes that Trump’s infrastructure plan will include money for more such trains. (This could backfire, however, by making people think that high-speed trains are more dangerous. They aren’t–but they are a lot more expensive.)

*** and ***

Question: So are all trains obsolete?

Answer: No, only passenger trains are obsolete. Freight trains are extremely productive, and America has the finest, most advanced rail system in the world. That’s because it is mostly private and operates to produce profits, not to give politicians ribbon-cutting opportunities.

*** end quote ***

So the answer is that politicians and bureaucrats, their egos, cause the waste of Taxpayers’ wealth on their egos.

Argh!

Happy New Year; new year same as the old year.

GOVERNACIDE: Afghanistan war has failed spectacularly

Carlson: It’s time to end America’s longest war
By Brock Carlson on Oct 10, 2017 at 11:35 a.m.

*** begin quote ***

On Oct. 16, 2001, Operation Enduring Freedom, the invasion of Afghanistan, was launched by the U.S. government in response to the 9/11 attacks. Now, 16 years later, that war continues under a new name, with its third commander-in-chief, new generals, and is being fought by soldiers who were toddlers when it started.

The war has cost an estimated $2.7 trillion dollars, 2,403 US soldiers killed in action, over 1,000 coalition soldiers killed, over 20,000 US soldiers wounded, who knows how many suicides, and over 149,000 Afghans killed, who are people too after all.

The time has long passed for politicians and generals to stop the talk of “national security” and admit that our nation’s longest war has failed. Not only has it failed, but it has failed spectacularly.

*** end quote ***

Why can’t we just declare victory and bring all the girls and boys home now!

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” — attributed to Einstein

I don’t care (really) about the money. After all, it’s a “sunk cost” and business school teaches that you should ignore it when making a decision about the future.

I do care about the human toll — vets, their families, the country’s moral fiber, and all the collateral damage.

Besides weren’t almost all of the hijackers Saudis? I never saw us hold them to account.

GOVERNACIDE: The FDA and the AMA are killing us with bad advice

Should Cancer Patients Avoid Raw Fruits and Vegetables?
Written By Michael Greger M.D. FACLM on June 13th, 2017

*** begin quote ***

Three randomized controlled trials were published, and not one supported the neutropenic diet. In the biggest study, an all-cooked diet was compared to one that allowed raw fruits and veggies, and there was no difference in infection and death rates. As a result of the study, the principal investigator at the MD Anderson Cancer Center described how their practice has changed and now everyone is allowed to eat their vegetables—a far cry from “please don’t eat the salads” 31 years earlier.

Today, neither the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nor the American Cancer Society support the neutropenic diet. The real danger comes from pathogenic food-poisoning bacteria like Campylobacter, Salmonella, and E. coli. So we still have to keep patients away from risky foods like undercooked eggs, meat, dairy, and sprouts. At this point, though, there really shouldn’t be a debate about whether cancer patients should be on a neutropenic diet. Nevertheless, many institutions still tell cancer patients they shouldn’t eat fresh fruits and veggies. According to the latest survey, more than half of pediatric cancer doctors continue to prescribe these diets, though it’s quite variable even among those at the same institution.

*** end quote ***

Doesn’t anyone else see the problem?

The FDA, Big Medicine, Big Pharma, and the AMA are all in bed together.

“Evidenced based medicine” is fine as long as it prescribes more expensive drugs to be dispense according to Gooferment diktats.

You really have to wonder how stupid we are not to revolt against them killing us. They are worse than the “witch doctor in the jungle”. At least, he’s not being paid off to mislead us.

And, I’m sure that many doctors are faithfully trying save us. BUT, (and there is always a BIG butt), they have a disadvantage in that they are getting a biased message.

Of course, there’s no “profit” in telling people that meat is probably as bad as cigarettes for your health.

Now, it hard to teach “old dogs” new tricks. Again, but, it can be done.

The supposed positive outcomes of WW2 are vastly overrated.

To understand whether there was any positive value in U.S. wars and interventions we’ve thus far covered…

  • Were early U.S. wars good or bad?
  • Did Teddy Roosevelt co-found the Japanese empire?
  • Did U.S. politicians choose the more evil side in World War 1?
  • How U.S. politicians helped create the Soviet Union
  • How blundering U.S. politicians enabled the rise of Nazi Germany
  • How U.S. intervention in WW1 fostered the rise of radical Islam

Now comes the most important and controversial article in the series…

WASHINGTON – The Internet, which fills our inboxes with spam and scams every day and keeps our delete keys shiny, occasionally delivers a real keeper, such as the words below, which were written by a graduate of West Point, Class of 2003, who’s now at war in Iraq.

We tracked down the author, who gave us permission to quote from his letter so long as we didn’t reveal his name.

Old soldiers in the Civil War coined a phrase for green troops who survived their first taste of battle: “He has seen the elephant.” This Army lieutenant sums up the combat experience better than many a grizzled veteran:

“Well, I’m here in Iraq, and I’ve seen it, and done it. I’ve seen everything you’ve ever seen in a war movie. I’ve seen cowardice; I’ve seen heroism; I’ve seen fear; and I’ve seen relief. I’ve seen blood and brains all over the back of a vehicle, and I’ve seen men bleed to death surrounded by their comrades. I’ve seen people throw up when it’s all over, and I’ve seen the same shell-shocked look in 35-year-old experienced sergeants as in 19-year-old privates. … … … …

*** end quote ***

Let’s bring all the girls, boys, women, and men home now! We have so many politicians and bureaucrats to send in their place if it’s really needed!

I’ve been lucky in not having to “see the elephant” first hand.

But, I have seen enough of the results to know that this is the LAST resort.

https://acaptainslog.blogspot.com/2008/07/fallen-soldier_04.html

I continue to insist that the “representatives” meet the returning H.R. and truly understand what their vote costs in terms of blood. The senator, congressman, other elected politicians, and appointed bureaucrats should meet “My soldier is on his way back to … …”!

I wrote a lengthy column about Jeanette Rankin three years ago in KONK Life. An interesting woman.

On this date in 1916, Rankin became the first woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. From Montana. Western women worked shoulder to shoulder with the men. They had a different respect than their eastern compatriots.

Rankin did not last long in office. One term. She was a pacifist. Voted against entry into World War I.

Some twenty years later, Rankin was again elected to the House. Again, only for one term. She was the sole vote against the U,.S. declaration of war against Japan following December 7, 1941.

Rankin needed police help to leave the House building following her vote. A crowd of angry persons had her confined in a telephone booth.

Enjoy your day!

*** end quote ***

I didn’t know this before today. I did know that there was only vote against entry in WW2.

You have to respect someone with the courage of their convictions.

Perhaps she saw that the Lusitania was not what it seemed (i.e., it was carrying munitions), that “war” would turn dead Americans into big profits for the war industry (shades of Ike warning the USA of the military industrial complex), and that George Washington warned about becoming entangled.

Then in her next term, she saw that it was FDR’s plan to end the depression, again turn bodies into profits, and turn the USA into a global empire.

Special place in heaven for her.

Most libertarians value peace as a principle because it minimizes the State.

Special thanks for the wake up by Petrone, Louis S. “Key West Lou” (MC1957).

U.S. law also requires the secretary of state to ensure that all U.S. government personnel assigned to a diplomatic post abroad be located at one site. If not, the secretary — and only the secretary — with the concurrence of the agency head whose personnel will be located at a different location, must issue a waiver. The law, which states specifically that the waiver decision cannot be delegated, was passed after the 1998 bombing of two U.S. embassies in Africa, when deficient security was blamed for that debacle under Bill Clinton’s presidency.

Top 10 Little-Known Facts About Alcohol
ADAM R. RAMOS JULY 15, 2016

*** begin quote ***

1. The Federal Poisoning Plan

Between December 25 and 27, 1926, the city of New York saw 31 alcohol-related deaths and countless others desperately ill. What was originally speculated as your typical alcohol poisoning turned out to be far more disturbing given that the deaths were courtesy of the US government.

When Prohibition took effect in 1920, law enforcement began denaturing industrial alcohol by adding toxic chemicals. This plan was conducted with the hopes of deterring people from re-purifying the liquid so that it could be consumed. As time passed and the speakeasies and underground bars flourished, the anti-drinking forces in the government developed a new denaturing process that would make industrial-grade alcohol twice as poisonous.

TIME magazine noted in a 1927 article that three ordinary drinks of this concoction created by the government would cause blindness. Government officials stated that the individuals who consumed the alcohol did it under their own free will, and the act was therefore nothing short of a deliberate suicide. The government insisted that they held no responsibility. Prohibition came to an end five years later, and by that time, the actions of the United States government had claimed the lives of at least 10,000 people.

Why do we trust the Government in any way?

The package also delivered a warning: A handwritten note attached to a stack of Veterans Affairs medical records. During the war, before I was born, Al had sprayed Agent Orange along riverbanks in Vietnam, often soaking his uniform in the herbicide. The exposure, he wrote, had caused him serious health problems, including a neurological disorder, and he believed it also might have harmed me.

My mind raced as I thought of my own troubled medical history. A heart defect diagnosed at birth. An underactive thyroid. Problems with my nervous and immune systems. More recently, Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and a nerve disorder that severely limits the use of my right hand.

I’m now 46. A lean 6-foot–2 and 190 pounds. I don’t smoke. I try to eat healthy. But the number of pills I swallow every day would make you think I’m twice that age. As a teenager, I was sick so often, I joked that my healthy brother and I couldn’t be related. He’d been born before the war, before Agent Orange.“There really is nothing that can be done now, as far as I know,” Al had written in 2009, “except be aware of the ravages of A.O.”

What my father didn’t know was that I’d already become familiar with Agent Orange and its consequences.

GOVERNACIDE: Why Lincoln is my worst?

Book Title:   The Real Lincoln: A New Look at Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War
  Author:  Thomas J. DiLorenzo
  Published:  Roseville, Calif.: Forum/Prima, 2002.
  Price:  $10.47 (paperback)
  Pages:  Pp. xiii, 333.
  Reviewer:  Richard M. Gamble
  Affiliation:   Palm Beach Atlantic University
This book review appeared in the Spring 2003 issue of The Independent Review

*** begin quote ***

In ten concise chapters, DiLorenzo attempts to demythologize Lincoln’s reputation as the humanitarian benefactor of the slaves and the judicious statesman who preserved, protected, and defended the Union and the Constitution in their hour of greatest crisis. With the flair and passion of a prosecuting attorney delivering closing arguments to a hostile jury, he exposes Lincoln’s embarrassing views on race, his ambition for economic nationalism, his rewriting of the history of the founding of the nation, his cavalier violation of constitutional limits on the presidency, and his willingness to wage a barbaric total war to achieve his ends. DiLorenzo argues that Lincoln opened the gates of war and plunged his fellow countrymen, North and South, into four years of misery and death not to preserve the Union as it was or to free the slaves, but to advance his own, his party’s, and his constituency’s power. In many ways, The Real Lincoln is a sobering study in power and corruption.

By Gary G. Kohls, MD
August 1, 2015

*** begin quote ***

August 6, 2015, is the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, a civilian city that had minimal military value, despite the claims of President Truman when he announced the event to the American people.

The whole truth of what the Nuremburg tribunal would later help define as an international war crime and a crime against humanity has been heavily censored and mythologized ever since war-weary Americans in 1945 accepted the propaganda that the bombings were necessary to shorten the war and prevent the loss of a million US soldiers during the allegedly planned November 1945 invasion.

Of course, the reason that the United States wasn’t sanctioned like Germany was for the Jewish holocaust was that America was the victor and the occupier and thus it was in charge of making and enforcing the rules in the New World Order.

*** and ***

Doing what is right for the whole of humanity for a change, rather than just doing what is profitable or advantageous for our over-privileged, over-consumptive, toxic and unsustainable American way of life, would be real honor, real patriotism and an essential start toward real peace.

*** end quote ***

Where was the mercy and humanity?

Lost in the war propaganda!

It really represents the end of a process that started in WW1.

Sadly, it’s not going to end well for a lot more people.

GOVERNACIDE: The death penalty — immoral and un-Constitutional?

HOMICIDE
Missouri executes man for 2001 killing of 19-year-old woman

These cases are very hard for me as pro-life pro-choice little L libertarian.

Now, I’m not going to argue the merits of the case, they seem pretty clear.

I will argue that the Gooferment has no authority to kill its “citizens”, “residents”, or anyone baring a “declaration of war”. At best, it can issue a “letter of marque and reprisal” (aka a get out of jail free card).

So that’s the conundrum.

The French had Devil’s Island. Surely, the USA could craft the same.

If a convict is so dangerous that the guard’s lives would be in danger (i.e., a Hannibal Lecter type), then I guess the guard’s right to life trumps the prisoner’s.

Even as horrific as this person’s crime was, I still don’t believe in the death penalty.

GOVERNACIDE: Common factor in tragedies — psych drugs

Psychiatric Drugs and the Downing of the Germanwings A320
Peter Breggin, MD, talks to Lew Rockwell about Big Pharma and mass murder.

Interesting that this exposes the corrupt relationship between Big Pharma, the FDA, the psychiatrists, and the media.

He draws the common factor between Germanwings A320, the mass shootings, and mothers killing children — psych drugs.

It’s worth the 30 minute listen imho.

GOVERNACIDE: State Department plans to bring foreign Ebola patients to U.S.

State Department plans to bring foreign Ebola patients to U.S.

The State Department has quietly made plans to bring Ebola-infected doctors and medical aides to the U.S. for treatment, according to an internal department document that argued the only way to get other countries to send medical teams to West Africa is to promise that the U.S. will be the world’s medical backstop.

Some countries “are implicitly or explicitly waiting for medevac assurances” before they will agree to send their own medical teams to join U.S. and U.N. aid workers on the ground, the State Department argues in the undated four-page memo, which was reviewed by The Washington Times.

GOVERNACIDE: Gooferment is the greatest cause of drug addiction

U.S. Government Guilty of Creating Heroin Addicts
October 16, 2014
Editorial By Wendy McElroy

*** begin quote ***

At least three factors call the official line into question.

First, in July 2013, the National Institute of Health published a study entitled, “Introduction to the Special Issue: Drugs, Wars, Military Personnel, and Veterans.” It stated: “Recent research suggests that the use and misuse of alcohol and prescription opioids (or POs such as OxyContin, Vicodin, and Percocet) are the signature substances associated with OEF/OIF/OND military personnel and veterans; for many, the consumption of these substances is causing additional challenges both for military personnel and veteran populations.” (OEF/OIF/OND = Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn, Iraq) It would be amazing if prescription drug abuse was prevalent while far more easily and anonymously obtained drugs were eschewed.

Second, in the earlier stages of the 13-year war, rampant drug use was acknowledged. A 2007 Salon article was entitled, “Afghanistan. It’s easy for soldiers to score heroin in Afghanistan. Simultaneously stressed and bored, U.S. soldiers are turning to the widely available drug for a quick escape.”

Third, newspapers have recently exploded with stories of an epidemic rise in America’s heroin addicts. On March 21, a BBC News headline trumpeted, “The horrific toll of America’s heroin ‘epidemic’.” In April, NBC News ran a 17-part series on the epidemic. The Washington Post (May 16) ran an article entitled “When heroin use hit the suburbs, everything changed”; which focused on heroin addiction becoming a white phenomenon. None of the stories mentioned the impact of war or that most soldiers coming home are white. Instead, like the ABC News coverage (July 31), they dwelt on the “doubling” of addicts as though it had no discernible cause.

Conclusion

What is the truth of it? Sometimes intentionally and sometimes not, often directly and often through circumstance, the American government is the greatest cause of drug addiction at home. And war is its conduit.

*** end quote ***

So why can’t “We, The Sheeple” connect the dots?

The Welfare / Warfare State makes us all poorer with its large number of Unintended Consequences!

Put Walmart and the other “drug” stores in charge of distribution and treat addiction as a medical problem.

Argh!

GOVERNACIDE: An “Obamacare” death

Woman in class-action lawsuit against Xerox dies
By JENNIFER ROBISON
LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL

*** begin quote ***

Time ran out for Linda Rolain.

The Las Vegas woman died Monday, less than two weeks after her family went public with details of how enrollment trouble through the Nevada Health Link insurance exchange kept her from getting treatment in January for an aggressive brain tumor.

Rolain was one of about 150 Nevadans suing Nevada Health Link contractor Xerox for enrollment mixups that left them without the health insurance they paid for.

Rolain is the first to die of complications from an illness that her family said went untreated for lack of coverage. But observers close to her case say she may not be the last, because others are in similarly urgent situations.

*** end quote ***

Now no one is saying that without the screw up she would have survived, …

… BUT, (and there is always a BIG butt), …

… … … it couldn’t have helped and may well have shortened her time.

The hubris of Gooferment politicians and bureaucrats is stunning.

Remembering that the whole “benefits” issue is the direct result of Gooferment meddling.

  •  WW2 Wage and Price controls forced companies to offer “benefits” as non-cash compensation

  • The Tax Code gave corporations breaks on “benefits” that individuals didn’t get (A corporation can deduct healthcare insurance costs, but an individual tax payer can’t!)

  • The Gooferment created Medicare and forced the old into a Gooferment “reservation”. (Medicare works as well as the VA healthcare and Indian healthcare.)

  • Obamacare

The Gooferment is immoral, ineffective, and inefficient!

This is the first death; there will be more.

GOVERNACIDE: County Galway mass grave

Mass grave of up to 800 dead babies exposed in County Galway

Church officials have consistently denied that they ever received payments for these adoptions, insisting many of the papers and documents from that period were lost in a fire.

Since there was simply no question of the birth mothers keeping their children – the shame was thought too ruinous – they lost all future claim to them. Their punishment was to work without wages for two or three years in atonement for their sins. In the homes they wore uniforms at all times, they had their names changed and they had their letters censored.

Critics contend that the ongoing reluctance of Irish religious orders to hand over their internal records or compensate past victims of mothers and babies homes, Magdalene laundries and reform schools, can be traced to their alarm over being compelled to offer mandatory payments or fear that further horrors could come to light.

But calls for investigation of the various sites are growing. In the end, critics say, it should fall to the state itself to open the unmarked graves and count the dead.

*** end quote ***

This is shocking.

It’s a Gooferment and Church failure.

At the very least, there deserves to be a thorough investigation and inquest.

Argh!
