‘I Miss My Mom’: Children Of QAnon Believers Are Desperately Trying To Deradicalize Their Own Parents | HuffPost

Tuesday, February 16, 2021

The 19-year-old started to notice changes in his mother’s behavior around the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. She had always been a nervous woman: She stopped flying after 9/11 and had hovered closely to Sam and his two younger siblings for their entire lives. But during the COVID-19 crisis, his mom’s paranoia spiraled from quirky to deranged. It has turned her into someone he hardly recognizes.

Just like a cancer gene, some memes are just as deadly.

I don’t know much about AQnon, but it certainly sounds like a cult or “religion”.

Seems like they take legitimate questions, and ride them off into absurdity.

For example, the existence of a “Deep State” of bureaucrats is a demonstrated fact. They control a lot of power inside the Gooferment. Maybe more than any President or politician.

But that doesn’t put them in league with the Devil?

Epstein and his “lolita express” had some “interesting” passengers to his private island of young girls. And certainly, that needs some “sunshine”. But it doesn’t mean that every politician and or bureaucrat is a pedophile.

Memes can just a destructive as drugs especially those with too much time on their hands.

They should go do some charity work and get off the computer.

IOS: Interesting that it doesn’t create call detail records

Sunday, February 14, 2021

Back in the day, I used to keep a detailed call log manually.

Recently, I wanted to look at calls that I made in October and November to firm up my memory. Argh!  IOS shows only your last 100 “recents”.

Argh!

Too much to ask for the phone to spin out Call Detail Records to a file in iCloud?

The phone companies collect CDRs on everything for the police to fish thru. Why not let the poor dumb slob who’s paying the the “service” to have the same data?

Argh!

The Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity : Coronavirus Crackdown Claims Another Free Speech Victim: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Kicked off Instagram

Saturday, February 13, 2021

Daniel McAdams, the executive director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity (RPI) summed up in a Wednesday RPI email update what we are seeing in America as the “continuing merger of social media with government with the goal of silencing all dissidents outside the extreme center.” This development, along with others, McAdams wrote, indicate that “it appears increasingly likely that the total state is here and it is intent on flexing its muscles.” (

Coronavirus Crackdown Claims Another Free Speech Victim: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Kicked off Instagram

Saturday, February 13, 2021

The headline at Reuters today reads “ Instagram bans Robert F. Kennedy Jr. over COVID-19 vaccine misinformation .” Misinformation? Not really. What Kennedy has been providing is information different from what government, along with big money media and social media have been pushing over the last year in America — the long-time fearmongering concerning coronavirus and praising of coronavirus crackdowns, as well as the recent incessant promoting that everyone should take the experimental coronavirus vaccines.

Don’t Let Judges Lie to Juries about Conscientious Acquittal | Cato Institute

Tuesday, February 9, 2021

The Maryland Court of Appeals’ endorsement of the novel (and false) proposition that juries may not acquit against the evidence—and its prospective instruction that state trial judges repeat that misrepresentation of the law to juries—represents a brazen usurpation of the jury’s power. No matter how much some judges may dislike jury nullification, letting them lie to juries to prevent the conscientious acquittal of a defendant is unconstitutional.

Is this hard evidence of illegal ballots in Detroit? The Gateway Pundit now claims that the TCF Center finally released security footage showing that witnesses were telling the truth.

Saturday, February 6, 2021

The Gateway Pundit, though, wasn’t ready to walk away from these claims. Instead, two months ago, the site requested video footage from the TCF Center for the wee hours of November 4, long after the ballots should have stopped arriving. The Gateway Pundit finally received the footage a week ago and, since then, has poured through hundreds of hours of security camera footage. According to The Gateway Pundit, the footage revealed that, just as the witnesses said, 50 boxes of ballots arrived at around 3:30 in the morning:

It’s Time To Take Seriously Teachers’ Refusal To Teach

Thursday, February 4, 2021

In Democrat-run cities across America, teachers are demanding priority access to vaccines and refusing to return to their classrooms. The big fights are in Chicago, Montclair (New Jersey), and California, where the teachers are insisting on working only from home.

Military names can echo down through the ages, a fact underlined by the current fight in Washington, D.C., between President Trump and Congress, which has voted to strip the names of Confederate generals from several Southern Army bases.

The president has vowed that won’t happen, but the battle might not be resolved before Election Day.

The Navy, meanwhile, has quietly charted a new course. A supercarrier now on the drawing boards will be christened the USS Doris Miller.

It’s the first supercarrier to be named for an enlisted sailor and the first to be named after an African American.

POLITICAL: Cuomo creates a catch 22?

Saturday, January 30, 2021

(Don Boudreaux) Tweet Alec March interviews Sunetra Gupta . A slice: ‘It’s quite curious how much has been invested in this performance of social distancing and mask wearing,’ she volunteers. ‘A culture has been created of virtue signalling and shaming and this culture is adopted by the academics, clearly.

Source: Some Covid Links

The governor, a self-declared foe of government incompetence, also presented medical providers with the vaccine edition of Sophie’s Choice. Earlier this month, he announced that hospitals that failed to use all of their vaccines would face up to a $100,000 fine; those thatvaccinated anyone out of the state-approved order of operations would face up to a $1 million fine. The kicker: Cuomo created a rigorous hierarchy of who was allowed to receive the vaccine at what point, meaning hospitals had no choice but to throw away expiring doses instead of finding willing vaccine recipients. Better to lose $100,000 than $1 million, I guess.

TINFOILHAT: CDC Scientist: ‘We scheduled meeting to destroy vaccine-autism study documents’ | Sharyl Attkisson

Thursday, January 28, 2021

Despite this whistleblower testimony, which Dr. Thompson provided to Rep. Bill Posey, R-Florida, there is little chance of a meaningful hearing or investigation. In an untainted news environment, the allegations would make headlines in most legitimate publications and would trigger federal inquiries. However, the interests of the powerful pharmaceutical industry reach deeply into Congress and the news media through lobbyists, propaganda and advertising dollars. “The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism.” –CDC Senior Scientist Dr. William Thompson

Clearly, from a reliable source, and the Gooferment revealing expose, there is a legitimate concern.

An ‘increased risk’ to minority males should be explored and explained.

It certainly gives credence to the skeptics who have been ridiculed as cranks!

Why should we believe ANYTHING the Gooferment politicians and bureaucrats claim is safe? Seems reasonable to assume the opposite.

URGENT: Toddler bleeds to death after swallowing button battery that burned through organs in North Carolina | Daily Mail Online

Monday, January 25, 2021

The couple are sharing Johnathan’s story so that no other family goes through what they have. Jackie said: ‘I just want to make every parent aware of the dangers and make people realise just how many devices have these batteries all over your home. ‘In this case, the back of the remote slides right off, it wasn’t screwed down. ‘After this happened we started doing research into it, something as simple as putting duct tape over the back of the remote could have stopped this. ‘Duct tape is hard for adults to get off, a two-year-old is not going to be able to open it. ‘I can’t bring back Johnathan, but if there is anything I can do to make more parents search through their homes, then that’s something.’

As much as those little screws over battery covers are a giant PIA, I’ll be duct taping any battery cover without one.

And, I’ll be notifying the manufacturer also.

I figure that duct taping over a ziplock bag is another approach.

As is, using my vacuum sealer, to keep those batteries “in”!

I realize that the AA and AAA are less risk than the “button batteries”, but better safe than sorry.

ECONOMICS: Thought Experiments About the Minimum Wage

Saturday, January 23, 2021

(Don Boudreaux) Tweet Here’s a letter to a high-school senior in Wisconsin who (I boast) reads Café Hayek: Mr. S___: Thanks for your e-mail. I share your negative opinion of Pres. Biden’s proposal to more than double the national minimum wage to $15 per hour.

Source: Thought Experiments About the Minimum Wage

*** begin quote ***

I’m sure that many of your classmates earn income by doing odd-jobs such as babysitting, mowing lawns, and shoveling snow. So ask them what they think would happen if government forced them to double the amounts that they charge to do these jobs. Do your classmates think that parents with young children will continue to hire as many hours of babysitting at (say) $30 per hour as they hire at $15 per hour? Will homeowners’ willingness to hire neighborhood kids to mow lawns be unchanged if the price of getting a lawn mown is forced up from (say) $25 to $50? Will neighbors be just as willing to pay (say) $40 to have snow shoveled off of their driveways as they are when they must pay only $20?

*** end quote ***

Here’s another thought experiment.

We know that few heads of households (I believe less that 1%) earn on the minimum wage.

Soooooo.

Cui bono.

It’s a well known fact that when you increase the bottom of the pay scale all the level on top of that pay grade have to go up too.

So it’s union workers, politicians, and bureaucrats that make out the best.  Obviously, the taxpayers are much worse off, as well as a consumers, as price increases ripple thru the economy.

Argh!

25 Top accomplishments of President Donald J. Trump Executive order enacted Jan. 1, 2021 requiring hospitals to provide medical prices to patients upfront so they can shop around. 2. Reversing the ascent of the Islamic extremist terrorist group ISIS. 3. “Most Favored Nation” executive order so that the U.S. (through Medicare) would pay no more for a drug than what’s offered to foreign countries, saving the U.S. an estimated “$85 billion in savings over seven years and $30 billion in out-of-pocket costs.” 4. Moving the U.S. embassy in Israel to the capital of Jerusalem. 5. Building more than 450 miles of new and replacement border wall. 6. Leading U.S. to a level of energy independence (exporting more oil than importing for the first time in 70 years), allowing international policy decisions to be made with less regard to how an oil nation we once relied on would respond. 7. No new wars. 8. Drastic reduction in regulations, opening the door for entrepreneurs and businesses to succeed, expand, and hire more people. According to the Trump administration, they promised to eliminate two regulations for every new one, but actually wound up eliminating 8 old regulations for every 1 new regulation adopted, equating into an extra $3,100 a year for the average American household. 9. Expanding Republican reach among African Americans and other constituents who traditionally lean Democrat.   10. Cutting taxes in an initiative that benefitted every tax bracket. 11. Doubled the child tax credit. 12. Operation Warp Speed: accelerated development of coronavirus vaccines. 13. Eliminated the Obamacare penalty. 14. A series of trade agreements and changes seen as beneficial to Americans, including replacing NAFTA with USMCA. 15. Instead of 2-for-1, we eliminated 8 old regulations for every 1 new regulation adopted. 16. Provided the average American household an extra $3,100 every year. 17. Started the Space Force. 18. Instituted “Right to Try,” allowing terminally ill patients to use potentially lifesaving, unproven treatments. 19. Prioritized and made permanent funding for historically black colleges. 20. Brokered peace deals or normalization agreements between Israel and five Muslim and Arab-Muslim countries. 21. Banned the teaching of “Critical Race Theory” in the federal government. 22. Withdrew from Iran nuclear deal. 23. Withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord. 24. Instituted a Buy American policy within federal agencies. 25. Achieved a $400 billion increase in contributions by NATO allies by 2024 with the number of members meeting their minimum obligations doubling.

Fort Worth Regulators Target Community Fridges Providing Free Food for People in Need – Reason.com

Wednesday, January 20, 2021

That city’s community fridge project was started by Kendra Richardson, a local high school teacher and activist, Eater’s Brittanie Shey reported in September. Richardson’s successful Funky Town Fridge project soon added two more community fridges. But, as Shey reported last week, the Funky Town Fridge project is in jeopardy now thanks to a perfect storm of inane (and inanely applied) state and local laws. After allowing her to operate for months, Fort Worth officials informed Richardson that the community fridges violate what Shey rightly terms “an obscure, archaic law, passed in 1964, that is meant to prevent children from becoming stuck in airtight appliances.”

POLITICAL: After bitter election, GOP newcomer to focus on election integrity in first term | Just The News

Monday, January 18, 2021

Freshman Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn, the youngest representative in the House in over five decades, says he will be focusing in part on nationwide election integrity in the wake of the bitter and divisive 2020 election season.  Cawthorn, who represents North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District, told Just the News that he wants to expand Congress’s investigations into election security beyond the ongoing allegations of voter irregularities that have circulated around the 2020 vote.  “We’re going to be making the law very clear on what you can do when you contest an election, and how you can do it,” he said, adding that he will also support inquiries into early voting practices, which have formed an increasingly larger share of the vote in recent years. Over 100 million Americans cast early votes in the 2020 election, with about 2/3 of those coming via mail-in ballots.

The Reason for Ron Paul’s Suspension from Facebook Is Revealed, and It’s Frightening

Thursday, January 14, 2021

Those who continue to argue that the social media companies are purely private ventures acting independent of US government interests are ignoring reality. The corporatist merger of “private” US social media companies with US government foreign policy goals has a long history and is deeply steeped in the hyper-interventionism of the Obama/Biden era. “Big Tech” long ago partnered with the Obama/Biden/Clinton State Department to lend their tools to US “soft power” goals overseas. Whether it was ongoing regime change attempts against Iran, the 2009 coup in Honduras, the disastrous US-led coup in Ukraine, “Arab Spring,” the destruction of Syria and Libya, and so many more, the big US tech firms were happy to partner up with the State Department and US intelligence to provide the tools to empower those the US wanted to seize power and to silence those out of favor. In short, US government elites have been partnering with “Big Tech” overseas for years to decide who has the right to speak and who must be silenced. What has changed now is that this deployment of “soft power” in the service of Washington’s hard power has come home to roost.
