Over 200 terminally-ill people have chosen to receive life-ending drugs in Vermont in the past decade since the state legalized assisted suicide in 2013.

A new report by the Vermont Department of Health revealed that 203 patients chose to ‘die with dignity’ between May 2013 and June 2023.

In May 2013, the Vermont General Assembly passed Act 39, which allows capable, terminally ill adult patients to request and obtain a prescription for life-ending medication to hasten their death. Participation by patients and doctors is entirely voluntary.

When will this “mercy” become applied to the frail old people, the chronically ill, “defectives” at birth, and the hopeless drug addicts?

When will the wacko Left get to apply it to “the deplorables”?

Nice to know I have this as an option when I run out of money and become a drag on “society”!

Not the word salad of speeches, but an inventory of what the policy “cost” in innocent lives.  Who knew what and when would also be useful.  As well as the details around the US / UK sabotage of the 2014 peace agreement.

All those found “guilty” of malfeasance or stupidity should be sentenced to work in the Post Office in Alaska far from the public legislative venues where they could do as little harm as possible.

I could not ever imagine that 30 years later, I would be sitting in a bunker and watching a similar picture, and both the bunker and the picture would be as real as it gets.

Our bunker is just a mile from the frontline, and it is well hidden underground. It can probably survive a direct hit from a 500-kilo KAB [Russian air-guided bomb]; no one would want to check if that is true, of course. But chances are high, as Russians constantly use their air sovereignty and KAB’s as the last argument, up to 10 times a day.

I am a guest here, but the bunker is a temporary home for four army men. It is equipped with four bunk beds, Starlink, boxes with ammunition, and food.

An operator sits at the table and monitors online streaming from the drones. Casually clicking the mouse and choosing one live stream over another. Another two soldiers are playing backgammon. The fourth is cleaning his AK rifle.

‘Look guys, that might be interesting!’ calls the operator. All of us are glued to the screen. A drone detected a group of four Russian soldiers.

I worry what happens when this “technology” comes to the criminals (i.e., drug gangs; street thugs; other gangs like Gooferment politicians and bureaucrats).

  •     Details revealed during largely successful appeals by defendants – proceedings mostly ignored by national media – make the operation sound like something out of an over-the-top Hollywood script. 
  •     Public defenders have identified at least 12 FBI informants and three undercover FBI agents managed by numerous field offices.
  •     The plot line features secretive FBI cash payouts; drug parties; a wife-beating FBI investigator; a career felon turned bureau asset and later accused as a “double agent” – all wrapped up with a dramatic FBI takedown scene at the end.
  •     FBI informants met with their targets to brainstorm how to blow up a bridge outside Whitmer’s summer cottage; kill her security detail; take her to a nearby boat launch; and perhaps bring her across Lake Michigan to Wisconsin for a “citizen’s trial” over her COVID-19 lockdowns.
  •     The reported plot mastermind was not, as originally portrayed by prosecutors, a bigoted extremist, but a homeless man, dubbed “Captain Autism,” living in the dilapidated basement of a vacuum repair shop with no running water or toilet.
  •     A 2020 protest at the Michigan state Capitol in Lansing appeared to presage FBI tactics during the Jan. 6 Capitol siege, with similar optics. The head of the Detroit FBI field office was promoted to run the Washington, D.C., FBI field office three months before the protest — the episode three years ago today that lives on as a cudgel for President Biden and the left to attack Donald Trump.

On that call, President Trump asked about inaccurate voter records. This statement was knowingly false. Both men were well-aware of that falsity at the time.

I’d have hoped that the President of the USA could say this.  Killing civilians is just wrong by any standard.  And, the US Taxpayers should be enraged that we’re paying to enable the Ukraine and Isreal to do this.

Just reacting to the story.

If someone dropped a 3 year old on your doorstep, would you react the same way?

I’d like to think that I would have the same empathy for the child, like you would for a complete stranger, hurt animal, or abandoned pet.

The child needed a safe and loving environment.  I agree call the police lest you be called a kidnapper.  But, putting any child into “the system” is just unnecessary cruelty.

I don’t have any “right answers” but I’d like to thing it could have been handled differently.
