Louisiana’s outgoing Democratic governor pardoned 40 convicted murderers since October including one of whom had been on death row and another who fatally stabbed a woman 39 times.

Gov. John Bel Edwards has been on a mission to help Louisiana lose the title of being the World’s Prison Capital and has signed the pardons to release 56 total convicts in five separate batches.

Owner Grady Haynes was behind the counter of YQ Grocery and was shot once in the back of the head by Washington who was using a .32-caliber handgun, according to the case brief.

Washington faced the death penalty, but the jury was unable to come to a unanimous decision, which forced the case’s judge to rule he be sentenced to life behind bars.

Another pardon involved a man who fatally stabbed a woman nearly 40 times.

Nick Charles Nicholson, who also received a pardon, was found guilty of fatally stabbing convenience store worker Kelly Ann Gramm in 1981.

Gramm was discovered with 39 stabbed wounds across her body, and a broken tip of a knife lodged in her skull, the outlet reported.

TECHNOLOGY: DIRECT TV STREAMING did a complete restart this morning.

ATT DIRECT TV STREAMING

Lost the ability to adjust the volume.

Started to troubleshoot, by resetting the dongle.

Things now worse

After trying all sorts of “stuff”.

Called their tech support.

They instructed us to do a few thing we’d already done.

Then, they discovered that the definition of what TV was connected was <NONE>.

Reset that to “SAMSUNG”.

Problem solved.

# – # – # – # – # 

OF course, no explanation of why the problem occurred in the first place!!!

Argh!

Wasted almost an hour on the problem.

    It may seem quaint, but there was a time pre-1971 when you could divide the monetary aggregates (there are several) by the amount of gold held by the US Treasury and you would derive the reference price of $35/oz.

    And in 1980 when gold soared to $800/oz the dollar was 100% backed by the gold the US held.

    What is shocking is the amount of paper money created since that time frame.

    If one were to do the same calculation today (monetary aggregates/gold ounces held by the US Treasury) it would take a gold price of $80,000/oz to balance the equation.

    A far cry from today’s $1,950/oz.

Wow, I’m not predicting that will be the price.  I am predicting that the value of the U$D has been largely “inflated” away and the rubes aka “We, The Sheeple” just haven’t realized it yet.

I wonder when Joe-Sixpack in the Weimar Republic in the 1920’s realized that his German Marks weren’t good for anything but as firestarter.  Likewise the folks in Zimbabwe who went out to pan for gold to buy bread.

Things retain “wealth” as folks eventually learn after getting screwed by politicians and bureaucrats with their paper money.

A mom and her teenage son were killed in a car wreck and police have arrested the man they say was behind the wheel while drunk – a suspect who has three previous DUI convictions. 

On Thursday, Colorado’s 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced formal charges against Jose Menjivar, 37.

Menjivar is accused of causing a crash in Broomfield on December 12 that claimed the lives of Melissa Powell, 46, and her son Riordan, 16.

Seems like the price would have a BOLO on every DUI convicted driver.

Instead of random checkpoints pursue the repeat offenders.  Give them a special license plate, like the dealer plates that easily are put on and off, that say “stop me for a DUI check”!

Argh!

This is not the first time I’ve ranted about this topic.

The person who loaned him the truck should be prosecuted as well as an “accessory before the fact”. That person had to know him well enough to know he didn’t have license.

Almost half of Buick dealers across the United States have opted to take buyouts from General Motors (GM) to avoid having to sell Electric Vehicles (EVs) at a time when consumer reports show Americans are increasingly turned off by the cars.

According to GM, almost 1,000 of its nearly 2,000 Buick dealerships across the U.S. chose to take buyouts from the parent company rather than investing potentially millions into retooling and prepping dealers to service and sell EVs.

The buyouts mean that GM will now have just about 1,000 Buick dealerships across the nation as the automaker moves forward with adhering to President Joe Biden’s green energy agenda.

I find this story both inspirational and humorous.  Can’t imagine that being a Governor is that stressful, but the chickens must have a special way of entertaining peace and tranquility,

Massie is echoing sentiments expressed by President Ronald Reagan in 1981, who advocated dismantling the Department of Education even though it had just begun operating in 1980.

“By eliminating the Department of Education less than 2 years after it was created,” said Reagan, “we cannot only reduce the budget but ensure that local needs and preferences, rather than the wishes of Washington, determine the education of our children.”

I can’t think of a better way to start off the year than by nuking the Department of Education.  Maybe Energy too.

If one of the objectives was to improve “education”, then it has failed miserably.  And, unlike the private sector which takes care of mistakes (i.e., malinvestment in things not demanded by the consumer)  — think of the Edsel, cassette tapes, and Blockbuster  — via the bankruptcy court, no Gooferment program ever goes out of business.

Time to change that now!

Moss and Tracy, who now live in Liverpool, continued working as cruise ship entertainers for many years. Even now, three decades later, Tracy prefers not to talk about the sinking or dwell on how close they all came to losing their lives.

But Moss, who’s been asked about the Oceanos many, many times, finds it cathartic to talk about. He looks back on what happened with great relief.

“I’m not invincible,” Moss says, “but if I can get through that, I can get through anything.”

I can’t imagine myself doing what this couple did. 

He’s a hero in my book.

Aren’t humans a funny (peculiar; not haha) species.  The captain goes into shock and the entertainer takes charge.

    Attempts I made to escape were met with beatings. I was no match for his size and strength. I was forced to stay seated or kneeling on the floor of the master bedroom. As the hours went by, I found no way out. I thought my salvation came when he brought out a gun and set it on the bed. Hours prior to this, no one heard my screams or came to my rescue. I saw the gun as my way to freedom. I could either use it to defend myself or get a shot off that the neighbors would hear.

Yeah, I know Christmas Eve is supposed to be about the Prince of Peace’s birthday.

But, to the victims of Domestic Violence, it often brings out the worst.

Christmas, New Years, ad Superbowl Sunday are supposedly the worst for it.  

I only know that when there’s a lot of drinking that’s when the family ugliness comes out.

Deep into the Big Pharma US Treasury raid, we learned that the word “vaccine” was redefined to include a bio-engineered weapons program.

Everyone, who disagreed, was labeled as “anti-vax”.  Despite that no one was refusing to take the polio (real) “vaccine”.  Nor were children not being given some of the OLD Traditional shots like DPT and measles.  And old {synonym for multiple instances of  flatulence} like me were taking Pneumonia and Shingle vaxes.  

No, the resistance was to these newfangled RNA “jabs” that were suspect.

Some of the suspicions were that politicians and bureaucrats, celebrities, and Big Executives were getting the distilled water or not getting jabbed at all.

(Remember Joe Biden’s shot on TV that was incorrectly administered?)

Don’t believe everything you hear and some of what you see.
