In the age of COVID, give parents ‘school choice’ on best way to educate their children | Opinion

Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida’s Department of Education rightly have continued to urge, and require, all public schools to provide the choice of live in-person instruction for all students. Plenty of attention has been paid — correctly — to the public-health issues involved in opening public schools safely during the COVID-19 pandemic, but one aspect has been mostly overlooked: The question of keeping schools open, like other matters of educational opportunity, is also a civil-rights issue.

It’s hard to imagine a more “broken system” than “education” in the USA.

Remember that the origins of Gooferment Skrules comes from Horrace Mann emulating the Prussian schools.

The true purpose of these “systems” was to create: cannon fodder for the Army, willing morons for the factories, and useful idiots to vote for and be led by the elite!

If the WuFlu is real, and I think that’s still an issue for further discussion, then perhaps the birth of “remote education” is the silver lining.

Could it break the strangle hold that the teachers’ unions have on the politicians and bureaucrats?

One can only hope!

Horowitz: So much for state election powers: SCOTUS blocks Kansas from requiring proof of citizenship to vote – TheBlaze

Thursday, December 17, 2020

We’ll likely have to carry around papers to show we were vaccinated in order to live, even unfreely with masks, in this society, but illegal aliens can vote. That is the upshot of the latest insidious Supreme Court decision to allow lower courts to shred all voter verification processes in election law.

For the past few weeks, we’ve been told “states’ rights” force us to pursue a “live and let live” policy toward state governors who violate the state’s election law to weaken voter integrity laws. However, this principle is evidently a one-way street and doesn’t apply to governors who want to follow, not break, state voter integrity laws. Then, the federal courts have every right to get involved and nullify those laws, and the Supreme Court doesn’t seem to be concerned about the 10th Amendment and Art. I Sec. 4, which dictate that state legislatures prescribe the “Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections.”

HEALTH: You can knock off all the sanitizing

Wednesday, December 16, 2020

Even the Washington Post, in an article last week called “We Are Over-Cleaning in Response to COVID-19,” wrote: “We don’t have a single documented case of COVID-19 transmission from surfaces. Not one. So why, then, are we spending a small fortune to deep-clean our offices, schools, subways, and buses?”

HEALTH: Which Brands and Sources of Rice Have the Least Arsenic? | NutritionFacts.org

Sunday, December 13, 2020

Which Brands and Sources of Rice Have the Least Arsenic? | NutritionFacts.org:

Not all rice producers have been so dismissive, though. After a subsequent Consumer Reports exposé, one rice company detailed “how it is taking matters into its own hands.” Lundberg Farms started testing hundreds of samples of its rice to share the results with the FDA. “We’re committed to providing safe food,” said the CEO, “to really listening to our consumers, and dealing with this problem very openly….” Lundberg Farms isn’t just sharing its results with the FDA, but with everyone.

Sounds like the FDA is in the pocket of Big Rice.

Does Big Rice get federal Gooferment “parity payments”?

If so, I know how to change their behavior.  Don’t you?

ECONOMICS: The death of the department store and the American middle class – Impact Lab

Sunday, December 13, 2020

Department stores are also facing the reality that they are no longer the main way most shoppers discover or access new brands — which was once perhaps their main appeal as onetime innovators. Consumer brands have increasingly become focused on building connections with customers through their own stores, websites, social media platforms, and other online-only marketplaces.

Clearly, the handwriting is on the proverbial wall.

EVERYONE needs to reassess what this means in their own life.

My past advice seems to apply even more so now.

Success for your generation is: (1) ruthless financial discipline — no bad debt; (2) a life long interest in learning — education — a degree — they can’t take it away from you; (3) a NON-OFFSHORABLE white collar job in order to save big bux; (4) a blue collar skill for hard times — never saw a poor plumber; (5) one or more internet based businesses — your store is always open; (6) a free time hobby that generates income; and (7) a large will-maintained network of people who can “help” you.

HEALTH: Hygiene Theater, like Security Theater, is a waste of attention, time, and resources

Surface Cleaning in Response to COVID-19 is Hygiene Theater

Just like the Gooferment, who desires to be seen as “leading”, sends up down a rat hole of wasted effort.

Gooferment is just immoral, ineffective, and inefficient. As well as untrustworthy.

VON SPAKOVSKY: How To Make Sure The 2020 Election Never Happens Againhttps://dailycaller.com/2020/12/04/van-spakovsky-how-to-make-sure-2020-election-never-happens-again

HANS VON SPAKOVSKY SENIOR LEGAL FELLOW, THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION

*** begin quote ***

In fact, that is the first reform states need: requiring a government-issued photo ID to vote not just in-person as in Georgia and Indiana, but also for absentee ballots, as is the law in Kansas and Alabama. That includes providing an ID at no charge for the tiny percentage of the residents of their states who don’t already have one. And states need to modify their driver’s licenses, which are the default national ID card used by the average American every day for many different purposes besides voting, to conspicuously note whether the individual is a citizen or not.

*** end quote ***

Sorry, but if this MINIMAL precaution is NOT implemented, then why trust ANY election!
