I don’t watch “debates” because I know all I need to know with a few questions:

  • (1) Where do you stand on guns? Prove it!

  • (2) Where do you stand on cutting the size of Gooferment — specifically? Prove it!

  • (3) Where do you stand on the “(pseudo) War on (some) Drugs”? Prove it! AND

  • (4) Where do you stand on a non-interventionist foreign policy? Prove it!

RANT: BHO44 is an interventionist and not anti-war

U.S. to deploy special forces to Syria in about-turn for Obama
WASHINGTON | BY ARSHAD MOHAMMED, PHIL STEWART AND PATRICIA ZENGERLE

*** begin quote ***

U.S. President Barack Obama plans to deploy dozens of special operations forces to northern Syria to advise opposition forces in their fight against Islamic State, a major shift and a step he has long resisted to avoid getting dragged into another war in the Middle East.

The number of special operations troops in Syria would be fewer than 50, said a senior administration official, speaking ahead of an announcement on Friday by the administration. One U.S. official said the number was likely to be in the range of 20 to 30 but could not provide details.

The decision by Obama, deeply averse to committing troops to unpopular wars in the Middle East, would mark the first sustained U.S. troop presence in Syria and raise the risk of American casualties, although U.S. officials stressed the forces were not meant to engage in front-line combat.

So much for the Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Where’s all the anti-war activists now?

We could have elected Ron Paul — the only true non-interventionist who ran for President in my memory.

So how is that working out for you now?

Did BHO44 run on a peace platform or not?

House Benghazi Hearings: Too Much Too Late
By Ron Paul
The Ron Paul Institute
October 27, 2015

*** begin quote ***

Why no House Committee hearing before President Obama launched his war on Libya? Why no vote on whether to authorize the use of force? Why no hearing after the President violated the Constitution by sending the military into Libya with UN authorization rather than Congressional authorization? There are Constitutional tools available to Congress when a president takes the country to war without a declaration or authorization. At the time, President Obama claimed he did not need authorization from Congress because the US was not engaged in “hostilities.” It didn’t pass the laugh test, but Congress did next to nothing about it.

*** and ***

The problem is the ideology of interventionism, not the management of a particular intervention. Interventionism has a terrible track record, from 1953 in Iran, to Vietnam, to 2003 in Iraq, to 2011 in Libya and Syria. A real Congressional hearing should focus on the crimes and mistakes of the interventionists!

*** end quote ***

In listening to the news the other night, we heard about the rescue of 70 Kurds by a mixed force of Kurdish and US troops. A certain young lady turned to me a said (I quote) “Where are there US troops fighting? President Obama ended all the wars.”

My response: “I have a bridge to sell you if you believe that propaganda. We have troops everywhere.”

Argh!

I have no idea how to get the runaway Gooferment back in control of “We, The Sheeple”.

Perhaps a good start would be for Congress to get serious about its Constitutional responsibilities with respect to “war”.

And, budgets. And, debt. And, and, and.

A lawless President should be so busy vetoing stuff he doesn’t like that he has no time for fund raisers or golf.

How To Stamp Out Cultural Marxism In A Single Generation
By Brandon Smith

Demand that society respect your inherent individual rights: Collectivism’s ultimate propaganda message is that there is no such thing as inherent rights or liberties and that all rights are arbitrary and subject to the whims of the group or the state. This is false. I have written extensively in the past on inherent rights, inborn psychological contents and natural law, referencing diverse luminaries, scientists and thinkers, including Thomas Aquinas, Carl Gustave Jung, Steven Pinker, etc., and I welcome readers to study my many articles on individualism. Freedom is an inborn conception with universally understood aspects. Period. No group or collective is more important than individual liberty. No artificial society has preeminence over the individuals within that society. As long as a person is not directly impeding the life, liberty, prosperity and privacy of another person, he should be left alone.

Maintain your rights; they do not hurt other people: PC cultists will invariably argue that every person, whether he knows it or not, is indirectly harming others with his attitude, his beliefs, his refusal to associate, even his very breathing. “We live in a society”, they say, “and everything we do affects everyone else…”. Don’t take such accusations seriously; these people do not understand how freedom works.

*** end quote ***

Sorry I am not politically correct.

(I know because a beautiful young woman bought me a t-shirt that says “#nofilter”. And, my friends just shake their head at my crazy rantings, like ZAP, gold coins, and the various forms of tin foil hat conspiracy theory questions I ask.)

Our rights come from God or the Universe or our essential humanity.

They are not open to debate. And, “molon labe”, try to take them from me.

“…if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.” -Churchill, The Second World War, vol. 1, The Gathering Storm (London: Cassell, 1948, 272, on the British guarantee to Poland in Spring 1939.

Negative rights are basically peaceful.

Translated in to the language of children, since that seems to be the comprehension level of “We, The Sheeple” — don’t hurt people or take their stuff.

RANT: Gooferment Motors bailout has cost over 32B$ dollars so far

Not News: UAW Considering Plan to Milk the Unemployment System If It Calls a GM Strike
By Tom Blumer | October 24, 2015 | 10:30 PM EDT

*** begin quote ***

The news coming out of Detroit about near-deadline negotiations between the United Auto Workers union and General Motors has been pretty quiet. As the Sunday 11:59 p.m. deadline approaches, the Associated Press only has a four-paragraph blurb indicating that the union wants to get a richer package than it just garnered in negotiations with Fiat Chrysler. A Reuters report goes into detail about GM’s cost structure still being higher than that seen at Toyota’s and Nissan’s U.S. plants by about 15 percent and 31 percent, respectively. The New York Times is only carrying reports from the wires.

One note of substance about the UAW’s strategy covered at Bloomberg News — surely known to others following the industry who are filing bland reports — is that it plans to milk the unemployment insurance system in the event of a protracted strike.

To be clear, such a strike would appear to be very unlikely, if for no other reason than the fact that Americans remember that the Obama administration bailed out GM at a considerable cost several years ago. The final fully-loaded cost involved was $26.5 billion — not the $11.2 billion touted by the press last year. It’s safe to say that quite a few people would not take kindly to the idea of the primary beneficiaries of that unprecedented largesse walking out on their jobs when so many others are still unemployed and under-employed over six years after the most recent recession’s official end.

(Additionally, the linked $26.5 billion analysis appears not to have picked up the effect of the government permitting GM to carry forward $16 billion in tax losses incurred by the “old GM” into the “new GM” — even though “a business that undergoes a change in ownership usually has to forfeit the old company’s net operating losses,” which certainly happened during the bailout. At the statutory federal income tax rate of 35 percent, that decision alone cost the U.S. treasury $5.6 billion.)

*** end quote ***

Argh!

And the UAW isn’t happy?

Talk about Crony Capitalism.

Now they want to stick the taxpayer — via unemployment insurance — with the cost of their “strike”.

Government takes family’s land near Area 51
By Glen Meek , Kyle Zuelke | kzuelke@8newsnow.com

*** begin quote ***

Private land overlooking the secret base at Area 51 has officially been taken from the owners and transferred to the United States Air Force.

Last month, the U.S. Air Force condemned the Groom Mine property when the family who owns it rejected a government buyout they felt was unjust.

The I-Team broke the story of the family’s fight with the government.

The Sheahan family, which until now owned the mine, knew they faced an uphill fight. They also expected the government would probably take the land through eminent domain even though the Sheahan’s owned it since Abe Lincoln was in the White House.

*** end quote ***

From Kelo, to this, in countless cases, the right of the people to be secure in their property is run rough shod over by the Gang called Gooferment!

Why do we or “We, The Steeple”tolerate this?

# – # – # – # – #

Now — literally with the stroke of a pen — a federal judge has turned the land over to the U.S. Air Force. The only part of the fight left for the Sheahan family now is compensation and what will happen to the equipment, buildings, even human remains, still at the site.

Debt Ceiling Debate: Don’t Mention Warfare/Welfare State!
written by ron paul
sunday october 18, 2015

*** begin quote ***

The US Treasury’s recent announcement that the government will reach the debt ceiling on November 3 means Congress will soon be debating raising the government’s borrowing limit again. Any delay in, or opposition to, raising the debt ceiling will inevitably be met with hand-wringing over Congress’ alleged irresponsibility. But the real irresponsible act would be for Congress to raise the debt ceiling.

Cutting up its credit card is the only way to make Congress reduce spending. Anyone who doubts this should listen to the bipartisan whining over how sequestration has so drastically reduced spending that there is literally nothing left to cut. But, according to the Heritage Foundation, sequestration has only reduced spending from $3.6 trillion to $3.5 trillion. Only in DC would a less than one percent spending reduction be considered a draconian cut.

Let’s make Dave Ramsey the Treasury Secretary.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Throwing Away Money

By law, children of the one-hundred-percent-disabled combat vets can receive help, about $8500 a year, with the university expenses of their children. One such vet here, I’ll call him Dad, was accepted for such aid for his kid, whom I will call Kid.

Dad, reasonably enough, asked the VA to deposit the money directly into Kid’s account in Mexico. Direct deposit is instantaneous, secure, and verifiable. But T/VA (Treasury or VA, he isn’t sure which) won’t deposit money electronically to accounts in Mexico.

Well, said Dad, deposit it directly to my account in the US. No, said T/VA, we can deposit money only to an account in Kid’s name.

The government had thus ruled out the only secure means of transferring the taxpayer’s money.

Well, said Dad, send a check to my mail-forwarding service in Laredo. It is not perfectly secure, but far more so than the Mexican mails. No, said T/VA, they could not send the money of Kid in Mexico to a post-office box in Texas.

This ruled out even the reasonably secure methods. T/VA was going to send a large check through the mails of a notoriously corrupt country. This insistence embodied the normal governmental qualities of stupidity, irresponsibility, lack of realism, and unconcern with results. They get paid anyway, nobody knows who they are, and they can’t be fired.

Now, if you are going to send a large check through extremely corrupt mails, the wise thing to do is to send it in a plain envelope, the way banks send replacement credit cards. No. Treasury sends checks in distinctive brown envelopes with a celophane winow, making the check visible. This is stupid even by federal standards, and federal standards are very high. The envelope does not actually say, “Check! Check! Steal me!” It comes close.

If you insist on sending a large check of someone else’s money in an obvious envelope through crooked mails, would it not make sense to endorse the check, “For deposit to account of payee only. Require passport”? Yes, it would. But we are talking about the government. It’s not their money. They don’t care.

The check was stolen and cashed illegally in California by agents unknown.  Exactly the same thing happened to Kid’s second check sent as a replacement, and then to a third check. That is, the feds, who are anonymous, unaccountable, don’t care, can’t be fired, and get paid anyway, threw away $25,000 of the taxpayer’s money. Might the Treasury notice this, and perhaps do something different? No. Why should they? Federal workers get paid anyway.

Why does this happen? Hint: Nobody goes through college thinking, “Gee, I can’t wait to get on with IRS or HUD or TSA and  spend the best thirty years of my life in a boring and meaningless job.” The government gets (1) people who value security over all else, (2) sociology majors with no ambition who need, well, some kind of job, (3) people who are not good enough at what they do–lawyers, accountants, programmers– to get on with real companies, and (4) affirmative-action hires.

*** end quote ***

I always say that the Gooferment is immoral, ineffective, and inefficient. And here’s a classic example.

How much of the Taxpayer’s money is wasted like this? 25, 50, 75% No one knows, but it’s a lot.

In the 80’s with the HANJ tax revolt group, I was part of a group of taxpayers who studied the flow of money between bureaucrats. We roughly figured that every transfer lost ½ to “handling” charges. So $1 to the Fed resulted in 50¢ to the State, then 25¢ to the County; then 12.5¢ to the municipality; then 6.25¢ to the school board; and finally 3.125¢ to the actual program. Argh!

And you wonder why I’m anti-Gooferment?

Charter Schools Are A Shell Game: Get Government Completely Out of Education
10/16/2015
By Chris Rossini

*** begin quote ***

One of last bastions of full-blown socialist policies around the world is in the area of education. Control of education is the crown jewel of government control. After all, if the world moves in the direction of the most dominant ideas, it is of the utmost importance to government to force you to adopt its ideas. Government has you for the first 18 years of your life (at least). Then the government’s media picks up where the schools leave off, and take over from there.

No matter how much failure the government’s school “system” produces, and no matter how many resources are flushed down the drain, it will fight tooth and nail (to the very end) to maintain control of education.

Despite the fact that this so-called education has become so horrendous (as parents who are currently dealing with “Common Core” can attest to), the cries are always for “fixes”. Of course, demands for more money to toss into the black hole are a given. But, again, as Von Mises proved, socialism cannot be fixed.

One of the more recent fixes are called “Charter Schools”.

*** end quote ***

So, we need to “sell” a 40 year plan to return Gooferment Skrules to the parents to fund and the marketplace to satisfy.

I say 40 years because it took 70 years to create this mess.

First 20 years is to return school choice to the parents and divest the infrastructure to the teachers by freeing 5% of the students to go where they want; second 20 years is to reduce the Gooferment “contribution” 5% per year until it’s zero.

Easy peasy!

Argh!

Luckily, I have always followed a rule of thumb with all OS’, “create multiple admin and regular User accounts”.

So I was able to log on an alternate administrator account, so the problem was limited to the MAIN administrator account.

I could not reset the MAIN admin account from the ALTERNATE admin account.

Strange?

So since I use LASTPASS and keep all my old passwords, I just found the prior one which was the ICLOUD password.

Bingo that was it.

So, make sure you know that one, because OS X El Capitan resets it back when you upgrade.

Flying Off the Handle

*** begin quote ***

I am no great admirer of management as a science or of managers as people. The latter tend to speak a strange language, a jargon neither elegant nor poetic; they buy very dull books at airports, they are often shifty and ruthless, and they seem to me to live in a constant condition of bad faith. They are bureaucrats pretending to be entrepreneurs even when they work for the state, an organization that secures its solvency by the simple expediency of printing more money—in fact, not even by printing it anymore, simply by adding a few naughts on computer screens. We live in a regime of paper money without the paper.

*** end quote ***

As a fat old white guy injineer, who has been “managing” for a long time, I learned from my first boss at AT&T that “You manage things, but lead people.” Hence, I think there is “science” in managing things (i.e., projects; processes; technology; etc. etc.). But the minute, one attempts the “Human Resources” approach of “managing” people, you are doomed to failure. Argh!

A former CIA director withheld information about President John F Kennedy’s assassination, according to declassified agency reports.

The CIA reports, which were declassified last fall, claim that then-agency head John McCone and other top officials were part of a ‘benign cover-up’ surrounding the assassination of Kennedy in November 1963.

*** end quote ***

Sorry, but there’s no such thing.

I read this story earlier in the week but waited for a more reputable source to report it.

Excuse me, don’t you go to jail for a ‘cover-up’ — benign or not.

Just goes to show that the Gooferment is ENTIRELY untrustworthy.

Argh!

Now I’m not a new kid on the block, but this continues to shock me.

“I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!” Captain Renault in Casablanca

That there is lying going on. Special circle of Hell for these folks.

GUNS: Make “toy guns” all orange?

Officer’s Shooting of Boy With Pellet Gun Was Justified, Reports Say

The pellet gun Tamir was holding shoots non-lethal plastic projectiles but its orange markings had been removed.

*** end quote ***

Sorry, but I side with the police on this one.

Who takes the orange off?

What parent sees that and doesn’t go nuts?

It was either stupidity or criminal conduct. We’ll never know.

The details have to emerge, but, sad as it is, it was totally predictable.

Obama Bans Pork from Prisons, CAIR Praises Decision

The federal Bureau of Prisons has banned pork products from being served in the 122 prisons it runs nationwide, The Washington Post reports.

It’s supposed to be prison?

“Bad” food might discourage folks from coming back.

Oatmeal for fast; beans for lunch; and veggies for dinner. Very healthy.

Didn’t Sheriff Joe just serve baloney sandwiches?

GUNS: The Left has a clear gun grab agenda

Lefty Blogger Josh Marshall: ‘We Really Do Want to Take Your Guns. Maybe Not All of Them. But a Lot of Them’
By Tom Johnson | October 10, 2015 | 12:22 PM EDT

*** begin quote ***

Marshall concluded, “Those of us who see the current situation as not just non-ideal but actually a sort of societal sickness need to start thinking way beyond things like closing the gun show loophole…In other words, yes, we really do want to take your guns. Maybe not all of them. But a lot of them.”

*** end quote ***

At least, he’s honest to admit that the Left wants to disarm “We, The Sheeple”.

Molon Labe.

Hope that works out well for whomever you send out.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? . . .” — Alexander Solzhenitsyn

I think that the “gun grabbers” misunderstand the temperament in flyover country.

Even in the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerk, gunowners ignored “Safe NY”. And, the State Gooferment backed down.

Argh!

Secession is the answer. And eternal vigilance about every over step.

RANT: A split-level passenger seat design?

Airbus files patent for split-level passenger seat design
Published October 06, 2015

*** begin quote ***

Airplanes could get even more cramped with a new seat design from Airbus that has passengers seated on top of each other in a bi-level configuration.

Earlier this month, the global airline manufacturer filed a patent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a split level seating design that could be used in businesses cabins on wide body aircraft, news.com.au reports.

In rows where passengers are normally seated six across, the middle rows would alternate between floor level and elevated seating to fit an additional two passengers per row. The raised seats would be accessible by a stair or ladder and would be able to fully recline above the passengers seated below.

*** end quote ***

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!

I can’t image how you evacuate that plane in an emergency. Let alone board and “de-plane”.

And, if the passenger above you spills something or worse, then yuck?

Can you make it any MORE uncomfortable and cramped?

There’s a reason I hate to fly any more.

It used to be “fun”; now it’s like torture.

INTERESTING: A “woman” manipulates a “man”

2015-Oct-12

Laugh!

Today, I was having a bagel and coffee.

A man, “obviously” Grandpa, having a snack with a young female child Sophia about age 8 would be my guess.

He sits down and tells her to sit across from him.

(Why I have no idea. Mistake number 1 — give an order that may not be obeyed.)

She sits two tables away.

After several interactions, he “compromises” half-way and sits at the table next to her.

(Mistake number 2 — “compromise”. Shows the original order wasn’t important!)

After several more interactions, he sits at “her” table.

Laugh.

(Mistake number 3 — capitulation. Demonstrating this was a waste of time.)

Guess “women” learn “man – ipulation” early in life.

Argh!

TINFOILHAT: Did the Alcatraz escapees make it?

Relatives have ‘proof’ Alcatraz escapees are still alive
By Tim Donnelly
October 10, 2015 | 9:45am

*** begin quote ***

Alcatraz officials have long stated that the men drowned, maintaining the prison’s bragging rights of no escapees. But now, more than 50 years later, new leads are being presented by the Anglin family, who are cooperating with authorities for the first time.

They claim that not only did the brothers survive the escape, they were alive and well up through at least the mid-1970s — and may still be alive today.

The evidence is offered up by the Anglins’ nephews David, 48, and Ken Widner, 54, who are featured in “Alcatraz: Search for the Truth,” a History Channel special airing Monday. The evidence has pumped life into the cold case, and has investigators lining up new interviews and planning to search South America for signs of America’s most notorious escapees.

*** end quote ***

And, why would we believe the “Alcatraz officials”?

Like with murder cases, it’s very hard to convict without a body.

And, from time to time, we hear of folks who have disappeared completely.

Personally, without proof, all we have is assertions and presumptions.

Welcome to the fundamentally transformed America, a heartbreaking embarrassment where rugged individualism, self-sufficiency and self-defense is scorned and condemned and, horror of horrors, outright forbidden for all practical purposes in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois and California and in gun-free zones across the land.

If you believe and know in your heart that your life is worth defending and you live in a state or city where it is illegal, join the NRA and fight with all you have to get your right to keep and bear arms back. If you don’t get this lifesaving right back, move to a state that does not infringe.

Do not vote for Democrats ever again, and educate everyone you know how they are destroying America. Vote Republican and send a message that we the people are in charge of our lives, and our American Dream is defined by the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, the Golden Rule and the Ten Commandments.

Disarmed and helpless is an irresponsible, suicidal choice that will get you killed. Defend yourself.

Having lived most of my life in the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerzee and worked in the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerk, I’ve been “trained” to be unarmed.

Luckily, I never was hurt. Harmed by crime several times. Mostly petty thefts from my car.

As I get older and, possibly a little wiser, I realize I was lucky. As big guy, a vet, and with some street smarts, trouble may have passed me by for easier pickings. Now as a poor old senior citizen on a fixed income, I’m probably a target.

I want to defend myself so I can steal back all that “social security” that was stolen from me by the Gooferment.

I was pursuing my Conceal Carry license in Virginia when I was downsized. Now I realize it’s my Constitutional God-give right to carry.

One of my first projects in New Hampshire is to located a range, complete my training, and begin packing.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Who listens to the Gooferment about anything?

Government on Nutrition: Often Wrong, Seldom in Doubt
By WALTER OLSON

*** begin quote ***

Readers of this space will be familiar with the pattern. Previous advice from Washington about the supposed hazards of eggs and other cholesterol-laden foods, the advantages of replacing butter and other animal fats with trans fats, and the gains to be made from switching from regular to diet soda, have all had to be re-evaluated and sometimes reversed in later years. And yet some in the public health establishment — including a few who are quoted in today’s Post article— still aspire to use the power of government to coerce changes in citizens’ diet. They seem to imagine that with people like themselves in charge, next time will be different.

*** end quote ***

I can’t imagine any more UNRELIABLE source of dikw (i.e., data, information, knowledge, wisdom) than the Gooferment.

Even when they are not deliberately LYING to us, they are often just wrong.

Look at any research and find out who’s paying or who’s profiting (i.e., Cui Bono) and that will determine the results.

That, and now days, unless there’s a profit or patent or copyright or some other angle, you’ll never hear about it.

There’s an internet meme about Salk not patenting the polio vaccine because he want to cure it globally.

Today, everyone would be laughing at him.

The whole definition of “non-profit” is a joke. The Salvation Army is a non-profit; the NFL is not.

Time to make the doughnuts and take back our country.

Secession.

Take the money away from them and see what happens.
