INTERESTING: How to win at roulette

I thought that title would get your ‘attention’. This is my second post to John’s blog, he gave me authorship privileges to write ‘one’ article a couple of weeks ago, and now here I am putting another post on his blog! (I may lose my ‘interim’ author privileges, eh?) Well here goes…my late father wrote some memoirs before he died, and in those he wrote a piece about how he won on the roulette tables. Not always win he said, but more often than not. He looked at the roulette wheel as a circle, with various ‘arcs’ within it. I believe he had memorized the position of the numbers on the wheel, or maybe he carried a picture like the one below with him.

His ‘process’ was to look at the previous numbers that had ‘hit’ on a wheel (all casinos display them as a list…probably about the last 20 spins I believe). He would look for ‘patterns’ in the hits, ie, an abundance of numbers hitting that fell into a particular ‘arc’ of the wheel. In other words, take the picture below and assume the roulette wheel is a clock. Divide the clock into four sections, e.g., 12 – 3 o’clock, 3 – 6 o’clock, 6 – 9, and 9 -12. He would look at the list of the previous displayed hits on the wheel, and on some roulette tables he noticed that the most frequent numbers that hit fell into one of these four arcs, at least more times than the other arcs of the wheel. So on that roulette table, he would then place his bets on the nine or ten numbers (1/4 of the possible 38 numbers) that are located in that arc. For example, let’s say most of the numbers that had been hitting were numbers in the ‘6 – 9 o’clock’ section of the wheel. Looking in the sample wheel below, those numbers would be: 6, 10, 31, 19, 8, 12, 29, 25, 10, and 27.

Now if you follow his logic, it would imply that certain roulette tables have wheels that are slightly off-level, or for some reason have a tendency for numbers to land in a particular arc of the wheel. They are probably manufactured such that this is supposed to be an impossibility, but who knows….I know it worked for my dad, maybe it was the humidity of the room and its affect on those wheels, or some other phenomena like that…or maybe it was because this was over 15 years ago and they didn’t have the technology to make wheels like they do today. I also must confess I haven’t tried this yet, but I will on my next trip to a casino, and then I will let you know!

Chaos have a pattern, list down the numbers upto 250 times, tally it with 22/7 upto 1220 decimal places.
You will see the pattern, everything is so predictable but I must warn you this will cost you too.

I’ve been gambling since the age of sixteen. That is over 40 years now. I enjoy to play roulette. For me a roulette wheel is the rotten hub of the materialistic society we live in. Nine times out of ten when playing roulette I walk away with more money than what I started with. I play by a mix of intuition and common sense. There is no system which works for winning in this particular game of chance. You stand a much better chance of winning if you are 100% unafraid of the outcome. That way your psychic radar is more open to picking up the next winning number. I have noticed that some ball spinners do have a tendency to land the ball in certain sectors of the wheel and I take this into consideration when placing my bets. The casinos’ management are aware of this trend and tend to change the spinner when the watcher overseeing the table notices this. Always place your big bets when the ball is rolling. Players who only make one or two bets on a spin rarely win and provide the casinos with their bread and butter money.
I live in Spain and when here I pop down to the local casino during weekends at least once a month to pick up a bit of pocket money. Greed is also a block to winning. Last week I watched a man playing at a table alone. He lost over 100,000 euros in less than an hour. The spinner was an experienced spinner and was definitely sectoring the ball. The management kept the same spinner without changing. The loser was rich and is a regular at this particular casino. He was smoking heavily. As a rule I avoid all intoxicants when playing, although a glass of red wine can help you relax and thus allow subliminal signals to filter into the conscious mind about what the next number will be. Coffee should also be avoided when playing roulette.
I’ve played in casinos from Las Vegas and to the island of Macau and if there is one number that has served me well it is number 8. My favorite bet is a stack on eight surrounded by four chevals. I had two big hits last week with this particular combo. I am going for the big one this weekend as I’ve had my eyes on a classic Mercedes coupe for some time and I want to pay for it by winning it on number 8 in one evening. I will do it. Remember the golden rules, stay clear in your mind, never play when you are tired or emotionally upset, never lose more than it will take 24 hours to get over, be fearless. Good luck.

Tony has finally provided some sanity to the discussion. His experience reveals the true aspects of this, and it makes perfect sense. It is a random event, that’s why it’s called ‘gambling’. Thanks Tony.

I will have to disagree, by know means the case is the same for every casino, but I have worked in 6 different casinos in the past 18 years as a dealer. I have worked with plenty of dealers that have said that they can control the roulette game with the ball but in all of my time I have never seen one that was true ( a couple have hit a number after they called it out, but I will call that just luck because I haven’t seen any of them do it again afterwards). A couple of things that the casino’s do to prevent the dealer are:

They require that when the dealer spins the ball he/she is not allowed to look at the wheel at the time they spin, which would make a little harder to “clock the wheel” and get the ball where they would want it to go.

Dealers are required to vary their spin, which means the ball should be traveling at different speeds each spin and also the wheel itself will be traveling at different speeds, which obviously has an effect for controlling the ball.

If you look at the roulette wheel there are canoes (the bumps on the cone of the wheel and on the slope) which drastically randomizes the chances of hitting a number on target.

So in short if you find a dealer that doesn’t do what he/she is supposed to (waching the wheel, keeping the wheel spinning at the same tempo, and spinning the ball at the same speed) you might have a chance at finding a pattern. and I think that if there is it would be unintentional because common sense tells me. Shoot, if I can control how the ball is gonna land, I will just partner up with my friend Joe Blow and retire after a week of playing.

So if a dealer says that they can control the ball or you hear of that being true, why would that dealer still be working?

Again I am only talking from my experience as a dealer so my insight is limited to the games I personally dealt and when working with other dealers. but a gambler might see a wider variety of dealers going to different places more. (if that makes sense).

Yep, agree wtih Chris and Killa. Ive been using this method (I would not call it technique) for last couple months. Went to same casinos where I would loose loads. THey first did not take me seriously and thought I was lucky. But then dealers started throwing the ball that would make it more difficult to predict. But its all about physics. Just ttry to work out how far the ball will go and make sure you see where it starts and how strongly the dealer throws it. I keep winning, not much, as dont want to attract too much attention, but once you have mastered it you can, I suppose to go to a new casino and just hit big time. But it takes a lot of experience before you do it. .. Oh yes, make sure you bet a fter they spin, dont waste your money.

Good response, Chris. The dealers can make the ball land where they want…but why not exploit that? (instead of going to a new dealer who would be more random)
I like fooling the dealers. It pisses them off, but it works. Just don’t get drunk before you play…you’ll make mistakes.

It is clear to me that at least some dealers have really, really good control of where the ball hits. I am thinking that instead of playing against the table (dealer), it may be a better idea to play against the other players, especially if they are playing high (lots of money). Just cover the uncovered numbers and don’t make any really big bets. What do you all think? I may try it next time.

Like the old joke, that if some wants to bet you that the King of Hearts will jump out of the deck and spit in your ear, then if you bet be prepared to have a wet ear.

So this “dealer influence” says that the game is not random. I have no feel for that one way or the other. I have a lot of anecdotal evidence that it’s more random than not.

My wife firmly believes that the dealer – thrower – spinner can “sector” the ball. That’s why if you get a streak going they change the ball, the dealer, or — if the streak is big enough — close the table.

Chris, Sounds like you are saying you either need to find a dealer that doesn’t know what he is doing, or maybe tip big a dealer that does. I suppose if you tip a dealer 5 or 10 everytime you hit, he will keep the ball landing in your ZONE. Does that make sense?

You guys have no idea what you are talking about.
The only thing which manipulates the roulette wheel is a dealer. There is no crooked wheels or anything like that.
They practice day after day playing against you, and like any profession in the world you can become a master in throwing roulette ball.
Decent dealer can outplay you even if you cover with chips 33-34 numbers. He will hit the empty number.
How? it is a lot to explain, but it is for real.
I am not a gambler, but I have seen many Casinos, and roulette tables in my life.
Starting with European and finally American and Canadian .
I have seen in Europe how roulette dealer is learning to control the wheel.
and when finally he does, than when he say number 35 , seconds latter the ball will land on number 35.
    and so on.
There is ways to figure out this guys. First important thing, stay away from dealers with a lot of experience. You have to be patient, blend in, look for a new dealers, they usually at the tables after the big ( Friday ,Saturday) days, One of the best days to be at the casino is Sunday night, when the rush is over and casino lets the young inexperience dealers work. Look at his 2-3 consecutive spins and you can figure out if this is the one to play against or no. also do make sure that you are not only player at the table.
do not play alone , look for tables with people already playing.
For all this information I have given you, normally You will have to pay tons of money.
there is many websites which sell this information’s.
I am giving it to you for free.
If you are interested in learning more , what’s next,,let me know.
    Good Night

Correction to my own blog entry: In the example of wheel numbers that I selected from the 6 – 9 o’clock arc, the second number should be ’18’, not 10. I couldn’t read the image of the wheel….old age setting in I guess!

Hey Dad I have tried something similiar to this, I thought however that Gramps was saying to play an area that had NOT been coming in (DOH..) That is what I had tried and lost over $200 pretty quickly.

You forgot to mention how he likes to play those numbers 3 times I believe before he doubles up on each of them. I think I broke the wheel into Thirds. Because if the table minimum is say $5 you play like 50 cents on each number (12 spots) for 3 spins = $18, then next 3 spins costs you $36 then the next 3 $72, then next 3 $144… And if one of your 12 doesn’t come in, in 12 spins it stinks.. Yuk

Frau believes that the bias comes from the “dealer”. She thinks that they unconsciously when they throw the ball will gravitate towards a section. Maybe they can’t put it in the slot they want, but watch the results when someone plays for them. And, notice how if the players get “hot” at any table game, how fast the pit will change the dealer. At roulette the also will change the ball when players start winning. So, there maybe some biases there somewhere.
