Another $100 million of American tax money heading to Haiti

*** end quote ***

BO’R brings up a good point: American aid will be stolen by a corrupt “government”.

He argues for intervention. Sorry, but it’s not our place to “give” freedom to the people of Haiti.

We have too many “wars”: “OCO — Overseas Contingency Operation aka Terrorism”Afpak, Iraq, “Some Drugs”, Poverty, yada, yada, yada.

Sorry, we have way too many wars!

Time to condense. Like Campbell’s soup, DoD: brings ALL the boys and girls home, condense all the intelligence into DOD, and let’s cut the foolishness. Save some bucks too!

RANT: Killing our troops in a failed policy

Is McChrystal Reading LewRockwell.com?
by Karen Kwiatkowski

*** begin quote ***

Not likely.

But I was heartened to see that when we abandoned the military outpost in Kamdesh, Afghanistan, we destroyed the base, lighting afterburners, the smoldering waste of one more failed experiment in colonialism in our rear-view mirrors.

We departed this small base days after one of the deadliest Taliban strikes against our occupation forces there. Officially, our departure had been planned for months. Any bets that the leadership will take a hit for that bit of poor planning?

Not likely.

*** end quote ***

The People have to end this nonsense.

Afghanistan has been the deathbed of empires for eons.

We can safely withdraw if we do two things: (1) pull back all our troops from around the globe; and (2) end the war on drugs. Then the Afghan farmers can grow all the opium they want. AND, all the countries, who’ve been living under our protection, can pay for their own defense.

Not likely!

POLITICS: Presedential sensitivity?

Obamas’ night out: First WH anniversary
Posted October 3, 2009 10:15 PM

*** begin quote ***

That a simple date at a relatively modestly priced Washington restaurant to celebrate a wedding anniversary – the first for the first couple in the White House – could generate as much venom as it has in these e-pages (see the comments below) on a Sunday suggests something deeply troubling about the American mood.

*** end quote ***

What’s the proper decorum for a President who that very day lost 8 AMericans in Afghanistan?

My understanding is that President Bush gave up golf so as not to appear uncaring. President Obama has been doing lots of things while “vacationing” and “politicking”, while troops were dying.

What is proper?

I still think that there should be politicians at each funeral. Maybe then the cost of their dilettante frivolity about “war” would be Rahm-ed home.

POLITICAL: It wasn’t about “war”; it was about politics

Without Bush, media lose interest in war caskets

But these days, the press hordes that once descended on Dover are gone, and there’s usually just one organization on hand. The Associated Press, which supplies photos to 1,500 U.S. newspapers and 4,000 Web sites, has had a photographer at every arrival for which permission was granted. “It’s our belief that this is important, that surely somewhere there is a paper, an audience, a readership, a family and a community for whom this homecoming is indeed news,” says Paul Colford, director of media relations for AP. “It’s been agreed internally that this is a responsibility for the AP to be there each and every time it is welcome.”

Colford says the AP has a photographer who lives within driving distance of Dover and is able to make it to the arrivals, no matter what time of day or night. As for the network news, it’s not so simple; a night arrival means overtime pay for a union camera crew. And then there’s the question of convenience. “It seems that if the weather is nice, and it’s during the day, we get a higher level of media to come down,” says Lt. Winter. “But a majority of our transfers occur in the early evening and overnight.”

So far this month, 38 American troops have been killed in Afghanistan. For all of 2009, the number is 220 — more than any other single year and more than died in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 combined.

*** end quote ***

So all those “anti war” zealots were just playing politics.

Despicable.

I’d like to see a congress critter at EVERY arrival. Some senior administration type too. Maybe we should have a Czar a day.

Sad!

These “representatives” should see the results of their decisions!

Of course, then the congress critters wouldn’t have tome to legislate. Not that is all bad either!

Argh!

POLITICS: Obama’s turning point

Obama’s turning point
AntiWar.Com
by Philip Giraldi

*** begin quote ***

“If Obama gives McChrystal his soldiers he will be heading down the road to disaster. When reliably conservative columnist George Will calls for leaving Afghanistan , the writing is surely on the wall. Even Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Admiral Michael Mullen has conceded that the United States has effectively wasted more than seven years in Afghanistan and now has to start over, an assessment that is actually optimistic in that it presumes that there is a way to achieve success, whatever that means. Obama can read the tea leaves as well as anyone. Will he do an LBJ and, in the cowardly fashion of a politician placing party above country, support a war that he knows is lost or will he make the courageous and correct choice to speak candidly to the American people and admit that Afghanistan has been a failed US policy and that it is time to walk away? Or will he adopt a third way that is neither fish nor fowl, going with the status quo and supporting current troop levels and funding, even though he knows to do so is futile, in the hope that he will not be labeled as the president who ‘lost’ Afghanistan?” (09/10/09)

*** end quote ***

Well, as a little L libertarian, I think we should bring ALL the boys and girls home. NOW!

RANT: Reply to an abomb post

Friday, August 7, 2009

Unfortunately, the gooferment writes the history book. And, now teaches the young to bey. Secrets are hidden almost forever. A sad day for the American experiment in so many ways. Did the experiment end with the bloody “civil” war? If not, Shay’s rebellion? We’re just kidding ourselves that we control this monster called government. That’s why I call government the meme that kills and enslaves us. Time to update out thinking?

INTERESTING: The Greatest Generation wasted in The Unnecessary War

Buchanan’s Necessary Book by Laurence M. Vance

*** begin quote ***

Buchanan’s conclusion will be a tough one for some to swallow: “It was Britain that turned both European wars into world wars.”

Churchill, Hitler, and the Unnecessary War is a necessary book.

*** end quote ***

History is written by the “winners” and taught in gooferment skools.

It wasn’t until College that I started to really get into how screwed up the world is.

I learned more history and economics from the Libertarian zealots and Social Justice faculty than most folks.

All war is fought by the common man. He’s the cannon fodder.

There’s a reason why the world’s elite eschew assassination, they might have to take some personal risk. We couldn’t have leaderless gooferments now could we?

Fifth generation war won’t observe that nicety.

Sheeple need to read this book and see how their ancestors were hustled. Then, they could avoid how they are being defrauded and abused.
