Wilson Eduardo, 18; Emerson Valenzuela, 20; Christopher Serrano, 18, and Edwin Ramos, 18, were arrested and charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and menacing, police said.

They all pleaded not guilty and were released on non-monetary conditions, online court records show.

Any wonder why crime is rampant in the USA?

Sorry, but criminals get back out on the street before the cops get the paperwork done.

A baby’s visit to Rikers Island took a frightening turn last week when the child started choking on a chip — prompting the city’s Boldest to leap into action to save him.

The 1-year-old began turning blue after swallowing a Dorito around 7:40 p.m. Sunday in one of the jail’s visitation areas, where his mom, Savanah Webb, had just finished seeing an inmate.

One correction officer noticed little Demyri Webb struggling.

So he pushed his pinky down into the child’s throat even farther — until he felt the chip move.

“The baby started to wheeze, which told me air was moving in and out,” he said.

Then Demyri spit up, and Barbosa knew the child was in the clear.

Great situational awareness.

Heroic, even though his life was not in jeopardy, who would want live with the memory of a child dying in your arms.

I guess he could have opened and airway with a pocket knife. Guess that was then next step after the pinkie try.

Not sure that I would have done it better.  And, what about the other people standing around watching.  Surprised no one videoed it.

And, in a spirit of reciprocity, if the USA’s “diplomats” misbehave, then if they can’t be fired, reassign them to Sitka Alaska.  (Where I am told there’s a woman behind every tree!)
